This was my second time here and we did the Combo for 2 since it's such a good deal. We did the pickled cabbage fish soup and house original, both were rich in flavor and delicious. For the meal we chose wagyu beef brisket and lamb shank. It also comes with A5 Wagyu with egg, truffle kobe beef bibimbap, vegetable & mushroom combo, seafood combo, tofu combo, and two drinks. We chose the paloma and lychee martini for the cocktails, both were refreshing. All that food is for $99, which is such an amazing value. The A5 wagyu was amazing with the egg and my partner loved the lamb because the quality was much better than most hot pot places. The only bummers were the bibimbap this time didn't have the crunchy rice bits as much as the first time I went. Also, didn't know till we walked in for lunch that the wagyu nigiri with foie gras is only served at dinner. Other than that, we had an awesome time and will be back again! Before it blew up into a whole entire thing, this humble location in a total pain in the ass plaza was one of the originators of a premium hot pot experience. Though the franchise has come to be defined by its AYCE wagyu, this location is old school with its a la carte ordering style and combo options. Don't worry, you'll get plenty of food for a fair price, even if that price is rather expensive but comparable to similar options. Now probably the biggest complaint I have about this place is that the service is absolutely horrid. There are two types of tables, family pots and individual pots, and it's clear almost everyone wants individual pots and they'll single out specific people who are less likely to complain about getting a family pot, so usually that's docile Asian families. No biggie, since at the end of the day, you're just here to have a good meal with loved ones, but it's the beginning of what is going to be more and more poor service. Forgetting items seem to be the norm here, and on my last visit, they forgot two items from the family combo, which is pretty damn egregious. Even when you asked for it, it took forever for what is uncooked food that should be served fairly quickly and the pace of your meal is absolutely destroyed. No one working there particularly shows any remorse or any care, and it seems as if they're almost allergic to acknowledging customers. I will have to say one young man with curly hair was absolutely attentive and followed through on asks. He's the real trooper among people who didn't really seem to want to be here. I don't know if this experience is the same at other restaurants within the brand, but honestly I'd be hard pressed to find somewhere with worse service even if they were trying. I'm going to be back since there's no alternative quite like it, but I almost always know to expect bad service. TIP: Be prepared for a mostly miserable experience. Almost perfect! This is one of the only authentic Chinese/Mongolian hotpot places in Las Vegas, so there really isn't much competition. Shabu shabu has very bland broths compared to Chinese-style hot pot, which is what I prefer. I heard that their supplier is the same as XPot's, which is so much more expensive. The meats are good, and there's a good selection of beef cuts (classic meat of choice), pork, lamb, and chicken. They also have a solid variety of other things on the menu, including most of the common hotpot items. It's expensive only if you order a ton of meat. The sauce bar is great - clean, and consistently full. I miss having a small selection of appetizers, though. Service was a bit slow, and we had to ask them to refill the broth, which is something I've had automatically offered at other places. Perhaps I'm spoiled by Haidilao. Decent vegetarian options! I was really looking forward to trying Chubby Cattle based on the positive Yelp reviews and since they are known for their quality meats from being owned by the same company as X Pot. However, after getting to dine here I was left disappointed mostly due to service. Reservation & Menu I made a reservation for a dinner on a weeknight. When we arrived they asked us if we wanted individual hot pot or the family style, however they only have family style available now. If we wanted individual (which would have been my preferred) it'd be another 15-20 min wait. I feel like this is something to be asked or prefaced for reservations. I was not aware of the options prior and their website is also not clear about this - also their menu on the website is different too which is confusing. We were hungry so we just went with the family style. The other thing that is confusing is their menu. They have different pricing depending on if its individual or family style. Then they have combinations for each section (i.e. meat, vegetable, noodle, mushrooms, etc.) but it doesn't explain what the combos include. When I asked it was different per section - for meat it was the first 3 beef listed, for vegetable it was about 6 of them, for mushroom it was all the mushroom, 3 for noodles, etc. It would be nice if they clarify on the menu. Food The quality of the meat was good. I enjoyed the original hot pot broth too. I wasn't disappointed by any of the food, but nothing was mind-blowing. I appreciated the sauce bar had a decent variety of options. We ordered a variety of food - beef brisket, beef short rib, pork belly, vegetable combo, enoki mushrooms, taro vermicelli knots, wide potato noodle, udon, fish balls with roe, rice, etc. Service This was where things went downhill. Service was already on the slow side to begin with when we started. After our meats came, it took some time for us to get the rest of our items even though we ordered it all at the same time. Then half way through - no one stopped by our table again to check in on us. Our broth was halfway depleted and no one ever asked us if we wanted more broth. We ran out of water and no one came back to help get us more. We ate through all our meat and wanted to order more, but no one came by. In fact we were so thirsty we were searching for our waiter for 30 minutes and we couldn't even see him around. We tried to flag someone down but it took awhile longer before we could get anyone to come. Now I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were understaffed. However it was also a weekday night so not the most busy. It was just really disappointing because we wanted to order more food but since it took so long to get anyone, we decided not to because then we were concerned no one would come back again. Other Notes - Parking is easy since there is a lot - Restrooms weren't that clean and stall doors need new paint Overall, I had a disappointing experience and wouldn't personally choose to come back unless someone else really wants to go. Ooh~ I'm on a Chubby Cattle roll! After checking out a couple of the locations in CA, I decided to try the location in Las Vegas. Surprisingly, this location is not A5 wagyu barbecue, but hot pot! As the weather has cooled down, it's been a little chilly, and hot pot sounded delicious~ We arrived at about 5:20 pm and placed our name on the waitlist. There were two hosts at the time we arrived and they were having a lengthy discussion while I stood there to place my name on the waitlist. It was about a 5 minute conversation, and I was a little taken back. I then realized that one of the hosts was a trainee. Thus, service was slow. My name was third on the list, and what was supposed to be a 10 minute wait became a 30 minute wait. The trainee host was not seating people first come, first serve. She was seating parties by the size of the table. So, parties of 4 were seated before me because I was a party of 2. Which was a little ridiculous to me because we were there first! Why would I need to wait 30 minutes when the party of 4 came 20 minutes after me?! After finally being seated, the booth had hair stuck in the corner and water on the chair. It wasn't very clean and I had to ask one of the staff for a wipedown. I then studied the menu and waited to order, but no one came. I had to ask the host to send our server to our table. When she came, we ordered the combo for 2. The food was delicious, BUT we never got our truffle kobe beef bibimbap, which was supposed to come in a hot stone pot. Later, they gave us some burnt fried rice in a small styrofoam sauce cup. I was not very happy. Also, being a MEMBER meant nothing as they usually give the NFT discount to members. Overall, the food was good minus the burnt fried rice, which wasn't served in a clay pot. I'm mentioning this because every other table around us had the clay pot! My experience as a whole wasn't the best.. Food - 3.5 (would have been a 4 if it wasn't for the burnt rice in a styrofoam sauce cup) Ambiance - 4 Service - 1 I'm hoping chubby cattle as a whole will keep their establishments clean and have a FULL staff who are fully trained. I'm just going to start with that I am not a big hot pot person but my family is. We spent Christmas Eve here and were able to reserve a table in advance through Yelp! We decided to do the family dinner and our server Harold was super nice and helpful. Even though there was 5 of us, the items included were more than enough and we even ordered some noodles and eggs that we totally didn't finish. You can tell Chubby Cattle is part of the XPot family as all their meat cuts are fatty and well marbled. Everything was super high quality and we were all filled. The family meal also includes 4 cocktails or 4 sodas which is a nice touch. After tax and tip, it was less than $70 PP which was totally worth it. I loved the tomato oxtail broth while my family enjoyed the medium spicy broths. Also - sauce bar is great but you might have to wait a bit to get through since it's self service. I don't remember her name but she wear glasses & long hair she only came by 3 time to the table. We're a regular here but the service was terrible this time. By the time we were finished she was getting the bill I had to remind her it was my birthday. I guess she couldn't hear well enough my husband intervene aging saying it's my birthday. I'm more upset that other people had birthdays and she remembered about them but with the notes and telling her somehow mine wasn't as special as the rest of the guests. Rarely got checked up on and had to continuously ask other servers/workers to help us bring water or grab our waitress to order more items. Chubby Cattle was far better than I had anticipated. I've heard many good things about this place and the only negative thing was that the sauce selection was not top tier. However, I was satisfied with my first experience here. My wife and I went here for our one year wedding anniversary about 2 weeks ago and decided to get the dine for 2 option. Overall, it was a great value considering everything it came with. But keep in mind because there are so many things, the combo portions are pretty small, but still made us fill in the end. From the moment we walked in, we got seated almost immediately, and the waiters after was amazing! He answered whatever questions we had and explained to us what to expect, when to expect it, and even mixed our rice dish and put it into two small bowls without us asking. The food was great in quality, but I did wish we had a little more meat (at least that's what I thought). We would definitely come back to try everything else!! First time coming back in over 6 years. It was another great food experience, but they were extremely busy this time. I made a reservation via Yelp, but I never got any confirmation the day before or the day of. Tried calling to the restaurant just to confirm but they didn't pick up and I was sent to voicemail. It was hard to reach them to see if they had a grace period or anything since I was 5 mins late. The hostess originally told me she can't find me and my reservation time but I eventually got my table after showing the hostess my reservation on my phone.
