My skewer is ready to eat! Beef and lamb, chicken skin, pork belly, and beef rolls
    Vanessa C.

I've visited a few times and it's always a great experience when with friends. Lots of variety, delicious eats, fun videos, and karaoke lyrics on the walls. They have bright lights while the room is pretty dark. There's only a few tables so if you're coming in on a weekend late that you might have a wait and need to join the waitlist. I love that they have a scannable menu and you can order directly through online. It's a great late night spot when you're having a few drinks or just grabbing some food with friends until the late night. The service is great and they're pretty quick once you order. I always love to have beef and lamb and enoki wrapped in bacon as well as the cucumbers. They have a few drinks on the menu, but for me it's usually a night after. I bring my friends here when I'm in town and I'll definitely keep coming. Already thinking about the next meal!

Everything was cold other than the flavorless eggplant

You guys fooled me with your reviews. We got overpriced cold skewers. They also didn't have any hot drinks (not even tea), which is super rare for a Chinese restaurant. Disappointed.

I have been coming here for over 5 years and it never disappoints! The prices are great, the dry bbq seasoning is spicy cumin perfection, and the orange garlic chili sauce that comes on some dishes like Grilled Oysters and Eggplants is soo garlicky and fragrant! I love to dip my skewers in the sauce that comes on them. Skewers come to your table already cooked to perfection. My favorite skewers are: - Lamb!! (Lamb is consistently more tender and juicy than beef here) -Quail Eggs -Chicken Wings (very crispy) -Chives -Grilled Oysters -Chicken Skin -Beef -Cucumber Salad -Toasted Buns for dessert The interior is dark - with slow moving background projections on all the walls. The booth seating resembles couches. It's a very cozy and casual space, and its great because this place opens super late until 2/3am. Service is fast and you order on your phone using a QR code. I love stopping by Xinjiang BBQ when I'm passing the area, but it's definitely a late night stop in my mind. And never get the skewers togo! Really not as good togo.

If you're not coming to grub here are you really living? Jk this spot always hits, go hungry and leave pleasantly satisfied. The food is made to order off the QR code menu, your code is on the screen! Maybe volunteer an unsuspecting friend in your party to sing some karaoke. While you wait for your delicious bbq skewers, they have it all, chicken, lamb, beef, seafood, veggies. Come by and get comfy, hope you don't have to wait too long to be seated, it's a small dining area but worth the wait. Extra seasoning on the table but if you want spicy you can order that too.

Came to Xinjiang BBQ for my friend's birthday. They order via QR code at the table. Everything you order comes out cooked so it's nice that you don't have to wait for the skewers to cook at your table like other places. My group ordered the crispy pork appetizer, jellyfish cucumber and marinated cucumbers. All were delicious that we ordered multiple plates of them. As for the skewers we got the chicken, beef, lamb, squid, bacon wrapped enoki, bean curd and fried chicken skin. All were cooked to perfection and none of them were tough or chewy. They have different powders on the table that you can put on your plate to accompany the skewers. They are priced pretty fairly with each order being about $6. My group was there for 4 hours and each one of us paid about $260 for a party of 7. We liked that this place was opened late and was a chill environment. The staff speaks some English but would be good if you have someone in the party who speaks mandarin. They have about a dozen tables inside and everything comes out pretty quickly.

easy spot to get some yummy skewers! inside has really cool interior. the seating is booth style and has an ipad to order from. you can also send in song requests. they have visuals on all the walls surrounding you as well. skewers were reasonably priced and come out cooked already, then placed on a heated tray. some skewers had alot of fat though their side dishes were pretty good, the cucumber salad and stir fried clams were the better ones of what we ordered try the chicken wing! it was super fresh and hot when we got ours roasted eggplant dish was a little too burnt on the bottom

Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally went to try it out. Skewers were quite yummy and they had a wide selection. They cook it and bring it to you. Flavors were good and meat not overcooked. The cucumbers were good and hubs really liked the shredded potatoes, but we really enjoyed the lamb dough drop soup! It was a good grease cutter lol and delicious too! Very different! Was extra good when I squeezed some lime into it. Service was good. Food came out quickly. I loved the ambiance, fun vibe and the constant changing scenes kept me entertained! There were 8 projectors lol. Seats were comfy too! Open late and quite a popular place.

Came here on new years eve around 10pm & it was starting to get busy. Total meal was $30 for 3 meat skewers (4 sticks each), cucumbers, & rice This is my favorite skewers place & a great late night spot! The price is great & the flavor of the meat is tasty. The cucumbers & eggplants are also great add ons to your meal! Favorite is the beef & lamb The ambiance is very chill, dim lighting, & can sometimes be a little louder at night with the talking & music

What an interesting restaurant experience! Xinjiang BBQ is located in a tiny plaza that has a good amount of parking as well. The plaza is initially pretty hard to locate while driving on the street so just be on the lookout. The decor is really interesting as well. It gives somewhat of a *nightclub* type of vibe and, for some reason, there is a super large projector in the front of the restaurant that's showing random messages that people in the restaurant can send in via a google form QR code. Just really odd, but I'm not complaining - it's kind of cool actually too, the more I think about it. The service is quick and the food comes quicker. You order via a QR code at your table and the ordering site is very easy to use. It's perfect, since we could order skewers throughout the meal, instead of all at once. The main skewers that we got were the beef and pork belly. The prices are very reasonable as well, going for about $1.50 per skewer. I also highly recommend getting the cucumber salad! It's a big portion for a reasonable price and it has a very clean and fresh taste, allowing for a good contrast between the saltiness of the meat. Overall, I had a great time and really just had an ~interesting~ experience here. A lot of aspects of this restaurant were very odd to me, but I still enjoyed it and had fun. Great place to just chill and relax with your friends with good food and drinks!

The food is decent, but I have other places that I prefer for skewers. I feel like the biggest appeal of this place would've been the atmosphere created by the giant LED screens that are projected onto the walls, but I felt kinda catfished when I came here. It's not as vibrant and cool looking as some of the pictures make it seem. Service is fine. Your interactions with the staff are relatively minimal. They'll seat you and bring out your food. You order on your phone. I feel like for each dish I tried, I've had a better version of it somewhere else. I wouldn't mind coming here if someone else wanted to go, but it's definitely not my first choice.

this is a cute spot that's open late, that was the driving force as to how we got there... the place looks clean and there are cute projected images on the walls -the booths are comfy and the seats are like cute little futon style seating the menu was not what i was looking for at the moment- skewers sounded yummy but reading some of the other items was a little too experimental for me for ex: sheep's testicle. i'm not knocking it and i respect all cultures - i'll try this spot another time but we did end up leaving tonight. the service was great! if you want try something more chinese-traditional in a cute space and you want something that closes well after midnight this is the spot for you!

Great prices and great food with amazing selections to sum it all up. It's our 3/4 times we are here and each time we always had a great times. Don't compare to those common tiny skewers, this place give you three times the meats for same price and you have the option of well done or mediums. Try them and you will be back, particularly for their beef , pork, lamb and my fav intestines Service is great and if you speak probably better but for English speaking they are good but the ambience is like night club drinking place which they are

What We Ordered: -Chicken Skin (4) $5.99 -Chicken Gizzard (4) $4.99 -2 Fish Tofu (2) $7.98 -Gluten Skewer (1) $3.99 -Shiitake Mushroom (2) $3.99 This was our first in-person visit to Xinjiang BBQ. We've ordered delivery a couple of times before, and the food was just okay. However, my wife and I both agreed it tasted much better this time. We ordered the Mild Spicy option, but it wasn't spicy for me at all. The flavors were very good! The Chicken Skin and Fish Tofu skewers were my favorites, and I would order them again. Next time, we'll definitely try the lamb skewers to see what they're like. The service was friendly and helpful! It's hands-down the best Chinese BBQ spot in Monterey Park, and we will definitely be back!

As soon as I walked in, a waiter handed me a menu along with an order slip to fill out while I waited for a table. That sure made the service feel less personal than I'd prefer. Every table was full, people were waiting near the entrance for seats, and the energy inside was loud and lively. These days, I'm more of a quiet-corner kind of diner. Unfortunately, I didn't find my usual quiet corner this time, but I managed to find a corner, and that was good enough. My dinner. Hot Tea ($2.00) Xiao Long Bao (8) ($13.00) The dumplings arrived steaming hot filled with juicy pork and flavorful broth. My favorite part of the meal besides the tea. Spicy Beef Ramen ($16.00) Large chunks of beef sat in a rich, vibrant red broth alongside ramen noodles, vegetables, and a hard-boiled egg. The beef was not as tender as it looked. The broth was too spicy for my liking. I do not recommend. Total: $41.02, including tax and a $7.00 tip. Overall, the food was okay, and the service sure needs improvement.

We had beef, lamb, and pork slices for hotpot which we ordered 5 each per order. We had two pots original and one spicy. The meat slices were very thin so cooking time wasn't long and we paired it with various sauces, so if you make a good sauce it'll be even better. The buffet selection definitely changed, there's more hot foods and they no longer have mini sausages. I do enjoy their char siu and their varieties. We were asked to pay the dinner price, The waiter just said his manager told him to tell everyone that, but the menu doesn't state the price between 3:00-4:00pm. The online menu also needs to be updated. As for the food, the hot food selection has gone downhill. Not as much variety as before. Mostly fried foods, not as much greens as before. Delightfully understated atmosphere with unique tiles throughout the decor, and we loved that we could hear each other talk and enjoy each other's company. Our server was amazing, she was so knowledgeable while being personable and extremely funny. I assume she's the cook's wife based on the other reviews - I arrived a little after my aunts, so I didn't get a full introduction since they had already secured a table and had ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. I had my eye on 3 different meat dishes - the Roasted Duck Breast, the New Zealand Lamb, and the Angus Beef Ribeye Steak - and my aunts also had each picked 1 of those, so we went family style, and it did not disappoint!! The chef knows how to cook each type of meat to perfection, and the searing pans are doing exactly what they need to be doing! The Roast Duck Breast was AMAZING as cooked to the recommended medium, with delicious crispy skin. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak at medium rare was as tasty as it was gorgeous! And the New Zealand Lamb was PERFECTION, down to the bone. We also got the gourmet macaroni and cheese as an add-on side, since all the meals come with mashed potatoes and various veggies, and I was in heaven! As someone who used to work at the Disney Parks and frequented the steakhouses and other fine dining both here and in Orlando, Sage Bistro is giving Disney a run for its money when it comes to high-quality meat dishes! The prices reflect both the cut of the meats and the skill of preparation, with it averaging to about $50 each across the 3 of us, which is pretty reasonable for top-tier quality! The only thing I had to be careful about was that many of the dishes have mushrooms, and my throat gets itchy if I eat most mushrooms, so I had to avoid those dishes. During our meal, when I mentioned it to our server for future visits, she was great at noting which dishes could completely be modified to have no mushrooms while also being realistic about acknowledging the dishes that cannot be, which sadly includes the Braised Short Rib that sounds out of this world. But I can have the Beef Rib Soup, so I definitely want to try that next because I WILL BE BACK!!! They also offer takeaway, and were very generous in giving us each a coupon card to use for ordering through their website.

Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. Lastly, the ambience was okay, but it was more an older fine dining/family owned style. It had some nostalgic vibe if you'd take it that way. Keep it up. I really hope it will be there forever long.

The Braised Fish did not come with steam rice, so we had to order the steam rice. For the drinks, we had the Peach Oolong Iced Tea and the 3-Colored Dessert. The Bún Bò Huế was very good. The Braised Fish was a little salty but still tasted good. The Peach Oolong Iced Tea was refreshing. The 3-Colored Dessert was very yummy. I enjoyed the sweet taste of it. They gave us orange slices for dessert on the house. The orange slices were so sweet and delicious. Will be back to try their other dishes I saw on their menus.

This soup is so pungent that the only time I get to savor it is at home and the stink doesn't leave your home for a few days. So, it is to my delight that they offer it here during the weekdays. It is a nicely stacked bowl that has everything but the kitchen sink in it - roast pork belly, catfish, squid, eggplant, and stuffed jalapeno with fried fish cake. Very filling and reasonably priced! The only reason I gave this place a 4 instead of 5 rating is because you can only order certain items from the menu when they open. I wanted to get some Chinese food to-go for my husband, but was told by the server that the other items were only available beginning at 10 am, which is odd to me.

For appetizer, we really enjoyed the Chicken Liver Mousse. The house-made seasonal jam is so good (we just had strawberry) and pairs really well with the mousse. For brunch, we got the Grass-fed Hangar Steak Breakfast Plate which is an elevated version of your typical breakfast staples. Amazing flavor and they cook the steak perfectly every time. We also tried one of their seasonal desserts and it is a must-have. I forgot the name, but it was a melon sorbet paired with fresh mangoes, coconut milk, and sago. Super unique and refreshing. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with a casual feel. Service is amazing, especially if you have Kai. We look forward to visiting again soon to try their dinner menu.

Located in a busy neighborhood of El Monte, CA, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Limited parking is available behind the restaurant, and street parking is an option if you can find a space. Upon entering, I immediately noticed how clean, well-organized, and modern everything looked. The electronic menu board is clearly and prominently displayed as you walk in. The menu is quite extensive, with options including wraps, salads, bowls, breakfast items, smoothies, and meal-prepped dishes with chicken, beef, salmon, tofu, and much more. I was impressed by the variety of choices and portions. My wife ordered an Asian chicken salad and garlic edamame, while I had a house salad with chicken and shrimp, plus a strawberry-banana smoothie and (2) protein donuts. Each dish was absolutely delicious. The lettuce in our salads was crunchy and fresh, the chicken and shrimp were flavorful and well-seasoned, the garlic edamame was tasty and cooked perfectly, and my banana and strawberry smoothie--let's just say I wish I had another one right now, as I loved it! If I may make a small suggestion: please chop the lettuce into smaller pieces, as the lettuce on both our plates contained large pieces that we had to cut ourselves. Despite this minor item, it was a positive dining experience, and we definitely plan to return soon to try other items on the menu.

The chicken was pretty dry, and the sweet potato has a lot of root in it. The food gave me a very "healthy" feeling that it was not oily. When I came back another time, I decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we were given a table number before we started filling up our bowls. The only confusing thing was that the food is priced by kilogram, so it's a little harder to understand the cost if you're used to pounds. Other than that, the ingredients were good quality and the selection was solid. At this malatang spot, you build your bowl first and pay at the end. As for the food, I enjoyed it. I got the creamy tom yum soup, and it was sour and salty in a good way that paired nicely with all of the cooked ingredients. The sauce bar was good as well, with a nice variety of options to choose from. Overall, if I was craving malatang and already at Atlantic Times Square, I would definitely get this again. One big plus is that they give complimentary matcha ice cream served in a black cone. They don't really advertise it, but after reading reviews mentioning it, I asked after paying and they gave me one. Be sure to ask for it before you leave.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit underwhelming. Service was on the slower side. We waited quite a while to be seated because there was a large group individually paying their checks, and it seemed like only one person was handling seating. We were also seated in the back where the tables felt a little too close together, making it feel cramped. As for the food, it didn't quite live up to expectations. Everything came out very overcooked, especially the beef, which was so chewy it was difficult to enjoy. The soup was also on the bland side and lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. They do offer a complimentary matcha soft serve at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch, but it was just okay. Overall, I really wanted to love this place because the concept and ambiance have a lot of potential, but the food was pretty mid. I'd consider giving it another try in the future, but I hope the food quality and service improve.
