Regular Fries

Korean barbecue, hot spicy and golden crunch chicken wings with a side of fries, great munchies while watching the FIFA game! Good customer service, a little busy, but we were well taken care of!

Yummy and nicely packaged.

Really like the honey garlic wings. Also had the Gangham wings which were perfectly spicy with bits of sauteed jalapeños on them. The ranch dressing dip is extra and worth it. Carried out but will return to try more items on their menu. Went on Sunday night and they appeared to have a good crowd of people at 9p with plenty of parking out front. Parking will probably be scarce during the week though.

Came here for lunch today and was debating if I wanted to order the lunch menu or a la carte. Their lunch menu is $14.99 and it comes with 5 boneless wings, fries/rice and a soda. I figured if we ordered 2 lunch sets we might not be full so I ordered a medium sized honey garlic wings and bulgogi poutine. The medium comes with 16 pieces for $31.99 and poutine was $16.99. You order via QR code at the table and the server brings the food once it's ready. You can pay online as well. Make sure to close out the bill before you go or they will charge 20% tip and close you out. Our server brought us plates, water and the pickled radish. Our food did not take long to come out and our server checked in on us periodically. There were about 10 tables in the restaurant and I've never seen it get too busy. The bulgogi poutine came with tots instead of fries. The tots were all super crispy. It was loaded with kimchi, cheese, bulgogi and fried egg. It had good flavor and the egg was a little runny. I was surprised it came with a good amount of meat. The wings had a crunchy batter and the sauce was sweet but savory. The chicken was moist inside and all the prices were meaty.

I was craving Korean fried chicken so hard and usually get take out but wanted it fresh!! I got my usual order, which is the half half with or original + secret spicy. It was very crispy and saucy. We also got cheesling fried & rose tteokboki on the side. My fave dish of the night was the rose tteokboki! So creamy & not too spicy. The service was honestly just okay- not that attentive and more casual, but the food was so bussin that it didn't really matter hahah. Plenty of seating inside and not too busy on a weekend dinner! Street parking nearby : )

One a personal mission to try as many Korean Fried Chicken spots as humanely possible. Here we've got two flavors boneless: - "Secret Sauce" in red. Your standard gochujang based sweet and spicy done right - Gangnam Style in black. These were stellar! Very garlicky with a nice Black Pepper flavor that pairs perfectly with a sweeter wing ti complement. bb.q is probably the most consistently good of the Korean chains to make it to Socal.

This was my first time at this particular bb.q Chicken location. When we entered, there was one party dining in for a to-go order. We were seated right away as a party of 2 and were prompted to use the QR code to place our order. Here's what we ordered: **Rose Ddeok-Bokki: Rose flavor has been popular over the years but it was my first time trying it. As a Korean-American, I prefer the original ddeok-bokki flavor but this wasn't too bad. The creaminess texture was good, no complaints. **Half & Half: Golden Original & Secret Sauce: The original wings were nice and crispy. I love b.bq's secret sauce so it did not disappoint. They added the perfect amount of sauce and had a nice balance of flavor. Ordering via QR code was extremely easy. If you accidentally charge alcohol to your tab and cannot provide ID, they were not take that off your tab. If you forget to close it out when you leave or decide to dine & dash, you will automatically be charged 20% gratuity on top of your bill.

Came in on a Saturday night and my first impression was: Man, it is SO LOUD in here. The big party at the table next to us were shouting across the room to each other and it just made it an unpleasant experience for me because I could barely hear the waitress and my boyfriend, who was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I understand that most restaurants can't control the volume of their customers, but I wish they could've said something to them and how their conversations about Rengoku & Naruto didn't have to be so loud as it was disturbing other people. I'm also never really fond of restaurants that make you order via a QR code on the table. Technology is not always accessible to everyone and navigating through the site to order may not be the most convenient for some folks. You also lose interactions with the staff, hindering me from tipping a lot, which doesn't benefit the waiters and waitresses. I ordered the Original Fries, Original Chicken Wings, and Soy Garlic Wings. The fries were crispy and salty; definitely my favorite dish of the ones we ordered. I absolutely hated the soy garlic wings. It was overly sweet and the skin of both chickens just didn't have the type of batter I prefer in fried chickens. We asked for a side of sauce and they gave us a tiny little container of ranch for an extra $1 (see photo below for reference). Moreover, they gave us a handful of ketchup packets for the fries and an empty container for us to squeeze the ketchup in. I found that odd because it's inconvenient for the customers! They really don't have a bottle of ketchup in the back to squeeze for us? We gotta put in labor? Parking is convenient (free lot in the back). Don't think I would return though because both the environment and the food wasn't my cup of tea.

Honestly would so go back to try more of their chicken flavors, but be warned that the Ddeok-Bokki is pretty spicy. Very crispy and flavorful chicken though!

Galbi

It is my first time at bb.q Chicken. They have so many flavors to choose from for their wings! We picked Cheesling, Wing of Fire, and Galbi. The wings were crispy and crunchy, and the chicken meat was juicy. I heard Cheesling was what they were known for or their most popular flavor. I one hunnit percent agree! It was so delicious; I can definitely see myself with a bucket of the Cheesling. Cheesling is more like powdered cheese than melted cheese sauce, but the powdered cheese is heavily sprinkled on the chicken. The flavor was sweet, savory, and full of umami. Can bb.q do a spicy Cheesling next? The Wing of Fire exceeded my expectations. They come really close to the spicy chicken wings from OB Bear. It's a bold statement, and it will never compare. But Wings of Fire did not disappoint. I like to switch between Wings of Fire and Cheesling. I recommend one Wing of Fire first and then a Cheesling wing to cool down the tongue. It is the perfect combo. Honestly, Wing of Fire was spicy, but it wasn't super spicy. The Galbi is a good middle ground between the other two. I recommend it for bb.q first timers to try. All three flavors went really well with soju and beer, or somaek. I am down to come back and try the other flavors. Again, there were many flavors to choose from. But I honestly want more of the Cheesling and Wing of Fire please.

Rose Ddeok-Bokki
Vicky Q.

BB.Q Chicken delivers on all fronts! I crave their rose tteokbokki -- it's flavorful and creamy, and the rice cakes are chewy and delicious. The fried chicken itself is perfectly executed, crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside. My personal favorite is the honey garlic flavor. The dumplings were a solid addition to the spread too. This place is a must-visit!

Erica F.

I was craving for Korean fried chicken, and happened to be in Alhambra. This was my go to Korean fried chicken place. I ordered via scanning a QR code, which was convenient. I got wings with Secret sauce and Honey Garlic sauce. Service was fast, and servers were friendly. I like the honey garlic the most, and I could not stop eating until I finished all the wings. The restaurant had multiple television that played sports and k-pop music videos. I like the music their play. There are a few parking structure closed by, and parking was easy.

Hot spicy boneless, radish, honey garlic dip, and fries.

However, I went for a second time yesterday and was deeply disappointed. The owner wasn't there and instead a younger girl took my order and prepared the food. Everything seemed well and fine until I got home, opened my patty melt and found not 1 but 2 long hairs in my sandwich! They were clearly her hairs since she was the only one who handled my food. I went back and returned everything. I didn't see a hair in my other sandwich but couldn't even eat it without thinking what could be in each bite. The same girl was there when I returned and a young guy. I spoke with the guy and he gave me a refund right away and apologized. The girl who had made my food was maybe 5 feet away and couldn't even turn around to look at me or apologize. Very disappointing since the owner seemed like a nice guy who probably works extremely hard to build and maintain his business, only to have it ruined by some employee who couldn't even care enough to take 5 sec to put on a hair net. Shame on her.

The soy garlic was actually very nice! I did enjoy that the most. The skin was also very crispy and crunchy, the chicken itself was very juicy. The chicken here feels like it's on the smaller end, but everything was still pretty good. I wouldn't say it's authentic Korean fried chicken, I feel like they're just missing the mark of the Korean flavors, but it does taste more like Korean inspired lol. I also wish the radishes weren't small cubes and wish they were bigger cubes. We also got calamari as well, this one was also pretty nice to have. Overall, the chicken here was still pretty good! They are located in a small plaza off Atlantic with their own parking lot in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is small, about 10 tables of 2-4, so there may be a wait during peak meal hours. We wrote our name on their waitlist, but we were seated soon after. The seats aren't too comfortable since space is tight. Their menu had a lot of customizations with katsu and curry. There were many protein choices. My boyfriend ordered their Menchi Katsu Curry ($20.25) and I ordered the Pork Loin Katsu Curry ($21.45).Both were marked as items Chef Recommends. While we were waiting for our food to come out, I noticed their chopsticks lists their other locations and most seem to be in areas with high Japanese footprint: Torrance, El Segundo, Gardena, Costa Mesa, and Los Angeles. The food was ready within a reasonable amount of time. In previous photos I saw and appreciated the grill they put the katsu on to maintain crispiness on the bottom, but they are no longer using that. The meal also came with a side salad, miso soup, and a few small sides. This is pretty typical of similar businesses. The dressing on this side salad was really bad though. As much as I wanted to eat the vegetables to be healthy, I didn't like it at all. Not taking points away cause it's an included item, but just including my observation. The rice was okay... a bit dry for my liking. The katsu itself was really crispy and crunchy for both of us. I can see how its' their specialty. For my porkloin I liked one side of it more than the other. The curry was okay, but I don't find it cravable... not like the curries that are so good I'll take it home to eat with more white rice. I barely dipped my katsu into the curry. If my boyfriend wants to come back, I might just order the katsu without the curry. A nice addition for this area, but I'm spoiled with having tried better curry katsu spots so I'm a little picky.
