After having this place's fried chicken wings, I have not been able to have chicken wings anywhere else. What's even crazier is that I've been a diehard bone-in/traditional wings believer, but bb.q Chicken's boneless wings converted me to the dark side. In fact, I will shamelessly admit that I only ever order their boneless wings here after having tried them. Unlike other places' boneless wings, which use dry white meat (an absolute abomination IMHO), bb.q Chicken uses actual dark meat and are actual "boneless wings." The Cheesling flavor is to die for. Get the limited time Buldak Cheesling flavor for a special spicy kick. If you want an alcoholic drink with your chicken, I suggest sticking with beer or bottled soju. Their soju cocktails are pretty weak and have a strange pre-mixed flavor to them. read more

As a local customer who has frequented Bb.q many times (almost weekly in the early days) with great satisfaction, today I am very disappointed. 1st one of the draws is the late night eats option, I mean even the popularity increased for Bb.q because it was featured in a kdrama as being a late night chicken spot. So to have your employee give me a whole speech at 8:45 about when you close the kitchen and how long I have to eat, is unacceptable, lack of customer service. And then denying service to 4 people at 9:08pm, also doesn't make for good ambiance or service. I paid $60 for 2 people to share a rice bowl and small batch of wings; what would those 4 people have ordered $$$? *change your hours if your trying to close early 2nd the wings have really reduced in quality and flavor, did you degrade or change in quality of chicken; or is that your not following the same recipe? Everytime I ask someone if they want to try bb.q chicken, I have to reiterate that it's Korean friend chicken and not bbq chicken. The name is peculiar for what they serve but it's very easy to remember. Come to find out bb.q stands for " best of the best quality". I usually order takeout, and have never dined in. I love how sturdy the packaging is, it comes neatly packed in cute cardboard boxes.The food is always consistent, and I have never had a bad experience. My go to flavors are: Spicy original-- crispy crunchy with a hint of spice Cheesling--- A dry rub nicely dusted with their house cheese powder and a hint of sweetness. Gangnam style-- Wet seasoning with a savory and sweet soy forward taste, with a strong pepper flavor. Came here for lunch today and was debating if I wanted to order the lunch menu or a la carte. Their lunch menu is $14.99 and it comes with 5 boneless wings, fries/rice and a soda. I figured if we ordered 2 lunch sets we might not be full so I ordered a medium sized honey garlic wings and bulgogi poutine. The medium comes with 16 pieces for $31.99 and poutine was $16.99. You order via QR code at the table and the server brings the food once it's ready. You can pay online as well. Make sure to close out the bill before you go or they will charge 20% tip and close you out. Our server brought us plates, water and the pickled radish. Our food did not take long to come out and our server checked in on us periodically. There were about 10 tables in the restaurant and I've never seen it get too busy. The bulgogi poutine came with tots instead of fries. The tots were all super crispy. It was loaded with kimchi, cheese, bulgogi and fried egg. It had good flavor and the egg was a little runny. The big party at the table next to us were shouting across the room to each other and it just made it an unpleasant experience for me because I could barely hear the waitress and my boyfriend, who was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I understand that most restaurants can't control the volume of their customers, but I wish they could've said something to them and how their conversations about Rengoku & Naruto didn't have to be so loud as it was disturbing other people. I'm also never really fond of restaurants that make you order via a QR code on the table. Technology is not always accessible to everyone and navigating through the site to order may not be the most convenient for some folks. You also lose interactions with the staff, hindering me from tipping a lot, which doesn't benefit the waiters and waitresses. I ordered the Original Fries, Original Chicken Wings, and Soy Garlic Wings. The fries were crispy and salty; definitely my favorite dish of the ones we ordered. I absolutely hated the soy garlic wings. It was overly sweet and the skin of both chickens just didn't have the type of batter I prefer in fried chickens. We asked for a side of sauce and they gave us a tiny little container of ranch for an extra $1 (see photo below for reference). Moreover, they gave us a handful of ketchup packets for the fries and an empty container for us to squeeze the ketchup in. I found that odd because it's inconvenient for the customers! They really don't have a bottle of ketchup in the back to squeeze for us? We gotta put in labor? Parking is convenient (free lot in the back). It is my first time at bb.q Chicken. They have so many flavors to choose from for their wings! We picked Cheesling, Wing of Fire, and Galbi. The wings were crispy and crunchy, and the chicken meat was juicy. I heard Cheesling was what they were known for or their most popular flavor. I one hunnit percent agree! It was so delicious; I can definitely see myself with a bucket of the Cheesling. Cheesling is more like powdered cheese than melted cheese sauce, but the powdered cheese is heavily sprinkled on the chicken. The flavor was sweet, savory, and full of umami. Can bb.q do a spicy Cheesling next? The Wing of Fire exceeded my expectations. They come really close to the spicy chicken wings from OB Bear. It's a bold statement, and it will never compare. But Wings of Fire did not disappoint. I like to switch between Wings of Fire and Cheesling. I recommend one Wing of Fire first and then a Cheesling wing to cool down the tongue. It is the perfect combo. Honestly, Wing of Fire was spicy, but it wasn't super spicy. The Galbi is a good middle ground between the other two. I recommend it for bb.q first timers to try. All three flavors went really well with soju and beer, or somaek. I am down to come back and try the other flavors. Again, there were many flavors to choose from. Well... I think I miss the old bbq chicken, like from over 10ish years ago. The reasoning being that they used to use have full drumsticks , wings and thighs. As a loyal customer who visits at least twice a month, I've always been highly satisfied with the food quality and service here, consistently ordering the boneless half-and-half. However, over the past two months, I've noticed a significant drop in consistency. Whenever the owner or manager is absent, the portion sizes shrink drastically because the chicken pieces are cut much smaller--some even the size of a thumb knuckle. Last Thursday was the worst instance yet; my order was barely two-thirds of its usual size. I called and left a message with the server who helped with the order that day to raise my concerns, but I have yet to receive a callback. I've been to bb.q Chicken Alhambra about 4 times now and it's always been a good time (with some exceptions). It turns out that I am a very picky Korean Fried Chicken eater and my personal preference is the Honey Garlic Wings. I've tried the boneless and it just doesn't hit the same. The issue with boneless is that the batter is too thick so you are eating a lot of fried batter. One order of the fried chicken - 8 pieces / small plus an appetizer is good enough for me personally. The Soy Garlic Wings is good but boneless was not. I would focus on the Honey Garlic if you don't want to risk it. I do not like Golden Original at any establishment since the fried batter taste is just too much fried batter for me. As for appetizers, I absolutely love the Rose Ddeok-Bokki. As someone who can't handle spicy, this is a creamy and tasty alternative. The Bulgogi Poutine is also delicious!! There is marinated beef and garlic chips on top of tatter tots. As you dig deeper, there's also melted cheese and kimchi which may sound weird but the whole combination really hits the spot. One last thing to note is that, this place is always relatively empty!! I have never had to wait in line for a spot and for such a tasty meal, this has got to be criminal but I'll keep it to myself since this will be my secret spot for tasty Korean fried chicken. read more

The downside is that they no longer offer a free side of pickled radish with your chicken order. Half chicken (Secret Sauce): Wasn't that spicy at all. It's sweet but besides that you can't really taste any other underlying flavor. I recommend ordering either half/whole chicken, the meat will be juicier than ordering the wings. 8 wings Small (Sweet and Salty Garlic Wings): These are glazed with a lighter coat of sauce.
