It has a great variety of meat, sauces, side dishes which I absolutely love. I had my Birthday Lunch at the Monterey Park, CA location. I had three guests. We did not have a reservation. We got in when they opened and were seated in a booth. I had only been to the Rowland Heights location. It is mush smaller here. Staff are friendly and took our drink orders. No self service options here. We all had the Diamond level and ordered 42items total. I was disappointed with the quality of the Lobster and the Rice was hard. The service was quick and efficient. I am so happy that I finally tried this place! I met up with some friends, and we ordered the gold tier. I was really impressed by the variety of meats, sushi, and signature dishes. The beef was extremely high quality and tender. The specialty items and special meats were definitely standouts and had great presentation. My only complaint is that they are very strict on the 90 minute dining time. Our group felt like we were being rushed and that they were kicking us out immediately after the 90 minutes was up. However, I do understand this policy as they are busy and were just following their rules. So I've wanted to try this place for the longest time because my friends keep raving about it and I'm not much of a meat eater but they said there is something for everyone in terms of the side dishes. I will say that their sashimi and other sides were noteworthy and fresh. Would just come for those but it wouldn't be a good deal for me lol. Just note that everyone has to order the SAME tier when you check in and to be seated your WHOLE party needs to be present. They do have membership for this chain and I think it's a great deal for those who LOVE meat. They even have complimentary birthday meals. Service was quick, attentive, and FAST! Loved our server forgot her name but she explained everything so well to us. We even got ice cream at the end and the spoon is INSIDE the little cup so don't sweat! The vibe of the restaurant was hip and boppin' since everyone was wide-eyed about ordering everything on the tablet. You have 4 minutes break from the tablet before you can order again. Presentation for some of the dishes were immaculate. You also have 90 mins to eat everything but they didn't rush us. We went over 90mins but it wasn't crowded when we went so I think that's why they didn't mandate it. I hate time constrictions but I also understand to keep the flow of things they need to do it. I had been seeing videos for Chubby Cattle online for the longest time, so I was very excited when my friend wanted to celebrate their birthday there. We had called in to book a reservation, but even with the reservation, there was still a 15 minute wait much to our dismay. Once we were seated though, it was smooth sailing from there. There's a parking lot right next to the restaurant, which was a plus for our 8-person group. The restaurant was bustling, cozy, and quite busy for Saturday evening dinnertime. We each ordered the bestseller option, I think it was the Premium? Popular? the middle option! It came with everything we wanted.. Wagyu, sushi, all great quality. We were led a bit astray with the "uni" dish, which was.....I don't know, a driplet of uni on there. I do not think that should have been marketed as uni and I wish I just ordered another wagyu instead. We ordered a bunch of soju and sake along with our meal and left SOO full. At the end of the dinner, the servers came with a tray of ice cream cups. Flavor options were mango, cookies and cream, and ube. All were fantastic and the perfect end to our meal. I had an amazing experience here, they do have less things than the Rowland Location so keep that in mind. The meat quality was outstanding--everything was fresh, well-marbled, and cooked perfectly on the grill. I loved the wide selection and how fun the whole grilling experience was. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a rather ardeous and rushed experience. Joined the waitlist ~75 minutes prior to our desired dining hour and checked in on the tablet upon arrival, which yielded another ~20 minute wait. Parking was plentiful on the street and the restaurant appears to be owned by Chinese with a Japanese influence. The restaurant was quite smokey and some staff wore masks and disposable gloves. The waiting room was rather chaotic and had a couple claw games with what appeared to be knock-off plushies available to play. The restaurant was rather smokey and only half the tables had a proper ventilation hood. ...make sure to do laundry after eating here... Before being seated, our hostess inquired on the package that we were looking for. Opted for the top-tier Diamond meal at $85/head which I thought I read had a 90 minute dining limit, but our tablet indicated that we only had 70 minutes to order. Ordering was done exclusively with the tablet where orders could only be made every 6 minutes and there was a written note about being charged for leftover food. The diamond category meats were the highlight with numerous cuts of Japanese A5 Wagyu which all came out in a wooden box with black ice. With the diamond category, each diner could choose from 2 out of the 5 items which were a treat. There were other premium items such as scallop sashimi with cavier and/or foie gras. What was odd was that cooking was all done by ourselves, which made the dining experience a touch awkward with the constant hussle of ordering every 6 minutes, cooking, resting, and eating. Towards the end of the meal, the tablet locked us out of ordering more meats and the waitress came by to offer us ice cream while cleaning our plates and turning off the stove, and dropping off our check. ~$110/head after tax and gratuity for a ~90 minute dinner. read more

I heard about the recent closures due to the "Gross contamination of food surfaces" and it reminded me to write my most recent visit here. My partner and I walked in on a busy father's day 6/15. We waited 2 hours to be seated all due to the hostess seating guests that arrived and checked in way later than we did. Our name on the waitlist was on top of the list for about 30 minutes but the names under us kept getting called. After we got seated, we ordered the diamond tier and immediately punched in our food order on the ipad. However, we waited for 20 minutes before we noticed our ipad wasn't sending in our order. We called down our server and she said that it was glitching and she would get our order in herself. So we waited another about 5 minutes and they brought out the diamond tier presentation. This was the most underwhelming presentation I've ever gotten from Chubby cattle. There was no dry ice and we didn't even get all the diamond tier meats we ordered. Then when we tried to order from the second ipad they gave us, it died. It took them 15 minutes to give us a new one. The worst part was that they added all that time that we didn't have access to order food into our 90 minute dining limit. It was only our 2nd round of our food order and they told us it was our last call. I told them that our ipad was not functioning for a good 40 minutes of us being there and they did not care, they just wanted our table to be cleaned for the next party. Another note, the water they gave us looked dirty. I've been a member here for almost a year always getting diamond tier. It's very unfortunate that we weren't taken care of this time around. Also, I looked at their most recent reviews and it's very obvious they are review bombing to keep their 5 star rep. You can see the pattern of 2 sentences and people who have barely been on yelp. That C Grade from health inspection we saw is a definite reflection of this location. read more

(Free Beer!) - two picks of their higher tier cuts/premium; which are the best! It was our first time with wagyu, so cooking it was a lil intimidating. iPad ordering: - No need to waive down the waiter; place your order, sends directly to kitchen. Comes out fast!! - yes intervals between ordering. Which is reasonable, helps you pace yourself, and timing it right; can have orders coming in consistently without waiting. Free little ice cream dessert at the end Pretty much it. 10/10 I do recommend and will be back again This place is amazing! But I can't right a 100% perfect review so let me pick at the minor issues that some folks really get upset about (which is overreacting) - wait time; sucks! Seared salmon nigiri was pretty good too. The corn cheese was average... Sometimes I shy away from AYCE because of the quality but I love coming here!! Service was fast and efficient.
