Price was cheaper than other comparable AYCE hot pot places in NYC at 30.99 for standard tier and even a 23.99 weekday lunch deal which is a steal. This place was truly felt like a slice of New York City on our vacation BUT unlike NYC, the service was so friendly. Tip was included in the bill so we accidentally tipped again. We didn't know this until the manager came out and insisted she return the extra tip. If this is not a testament to great service, I don't know what is. Ambiance 5/5: Everything was clean. The place was large so tables were adequately spaced. Place was well lit. Warm decor and colors. Service 5/5: Great service. People were welcoming. Staff were stationed around the self serve bar to assist customers. Manager was super nice and even returned money to us when we accidentally double tipped. Food 5/5: They have A LOT of options here. There were two pricing tiers. Premium was 36.99 and standard was 30.99. Premium offered cuts of wagyu, shrimp paste, and leg of lamb for every 2 persons in your party. I felt like I would've been happy with just the standard tier since there was more than enough food. They have a self serve cotton candy machine, soda machine, make your own BOBA station, and ice cream. Even without the hot pot, there were AYCE pre-cooked entrees at the bar including soup, noodles, fried/plain rice. Also had AYCE appetizers like fries and fried chicken. The raw station for the hot pot included noodles, seafood, and veggies. Everything was fresh, clean, and delicious so you can't go wrong with this place.

My only disappointment is that they don't serve tom yum as a broth option like other happy lamb locations but that's not much of a big deal.

I know my crew well enough that I can keep everybody happy at a Chinese buffet and seems almost every city and small town has one! This KIng Buffet is one of the most common names for Chinese bufftes it seems. This location was easy enough to find with the GPS and parking was easy. Going inside it look pretty decent sized, bigger than a lot of small town buffets we've been to. Service was efficient, but you know typical Asian efficirncy, not to make conversation like at Applebee's or something. All the foods you'd expect were here and looking fresh and hot. Sushi was available as well, but I usuall just stick to hot foods when it comes to buffets. The general chicken was good as were the noodles. They had ribs as well, and some of my guys really cleaned up on those. I'd bring the crew back here again if we were in the area. Everybody gets exavtly what they want.

That said, i think buffets in general are a grade lower. Generally far more greasy, bland, tender meat if fresh though rarely is unless you dine during dinner rush. Kings buffet has the two locations we go to. The one off of redwood 5700s ish. And the one on state street about 3700s ish. OUt of the two i prefer the one on state. It seems like the mongolian is generally a bit better. Mongolian is the part i like the most. The family likes the buffet and variety. I wish there was a way for me to get a "by the plate" Mongolian. I feel like i overpay for the endless buffet i don't even use. I know i could get it to go in a to go container and pay by the pound, but that's if not dining in. I wish they worked on the buffet a bit. Less greasy, less bland, Maintain freshness. When not during the lunch or dinner rush, maybe make them in smaller portions, more frequently. Also a big thing for me. During lunch rush the mongolian has shrimp. During the dinner rush it has a slightly nicer beef. Also the choices of veggies varries between the two. I wish at the very least, keep the veggie selection the same. I feel like either way i'm getting half of the dish i really want, but paying for a buffet i don't even utelize.

A lot of the food like beef and broccoli and orange chicken look like it was the last serving or two a young lady came in after me and once we put our servings of each food, the owner then had to cook I was kind of disappointed because the beef and broccoli sounded amazing, but the actual look of it wasn't really appealing. The noodles were kind of flat, not like what I'm used to more rounded egg noodles. The fried rice had ham in it and I don't eat pork. They had a lot of different options. Shrimp was included. Teriyaki beef what they called. And extras were the wonton, sesame balls, veggie eggrolls, etc... I took my main side as noodles, then sides as beef and broccoli, beef teriyaki, and tempura shrimp. They asked at the end if you want Sawsan they add it to your compartment you pay roughly $11 and change. I like the noodles I didn't love them, beef and broccoli was good. Probably would've been better if it was fresh. The shrimp was pretty tasty with the side sauce. Kind of reminded you sweet honey and walnut temporary shrimp that you get from other places. Just without the walnuts and the sauce on the side, which is pretty nice because sometimes you can get too sweet. The fried beef teriyaki, absolutely not. That was by far probably the worst thing I've tasted. The meat did not taste like meat. I ended up taking a bite and throwing it out. Honestly, I think if you can get the food super fresh when they put it out it probably taste a lot better so that's why I gave it three out of five stars. One for the customer service, two for most of the food being decent, and three for the simplicity of putting whatever you want basically self-serve.. Until next time, happy yelping
