I have been to Chewy's all over Houston and would give them all 5 stars except for this new one located on 249 and Louetta. It is a new store and until yesterday always had an hour or more wait. So yesterday we went at 3pm. No wait. Not crowded. We were seated with a menu and fork. I had 40 minutes to read over the menu. You can get different versions of a cheese enchilada and a beef taco for $12. Basically there is nothing on the menu less then $10. To be honest I was not impressed. After 40 minutes of no service, no drinks, no chips I walked to the front and asked for a manager. I was told the manager was too busy to talk with me. We left. Juanita's on Louetta better service. Bleh this place doesn't match up to other Chuys. Taste like Los Arcos in Tomball - nasty. Not sure why the food never tastes fresh here like every other Chuys does. Chuys is usually mouthwatering, fresh and keeps you savoring every bite. This one doesn't have that going on at all. This kitchen is a rip-off version of the westheimer road Chuys. It looks the same, but that's it so far. People in this area are used to restaurants cutting the wrong corners like this. Nothing new for a place to try to pull wool over our eyes. Good luck with that. Every other Chuys in Austin and Houston is 10x better than this. All it takes is someone to taste the difference and say WTF - I'm being served dog food with cheese on top!! read more

I don't understand this location and my main complaint is inconsistencies in food quality and quality of service. We have been to this one about ten times since it opened and three of those were knock it out of the park, on point food and server quality. Other times like today my kid looks at me like why do we still come here? Service was poor (waited so long for drinks, to have our order taken, for chips and then they came without the green sauce) and my deluxe enchiladas were perfection but the Mexican rice tonight was mushy and flavorless to go with the overly salted chips. Which I had to ask for refills on. I have had ample time to write this review from my table because we are waiting for the check. It is just frustrating because I know what the full Chuys experience is and when I visit the River Oaks location on Westheimer the food is always on point and so is service. Consistently. I had an issue with one server one time but it was an outlier. Here I feel like its 50 50 everytime and for an area as dense with eateries as this one, I am not sure how much longer I will continue to take this gamble and have it go bad. I just spent 50 dollars and feel like most of it was unearned and we would have done better to just get Whataburger. read more

I love their shrimp tacos with extra cabbage. The creamy jalapeño salsa is what keeps me coming back though. I put it on everything at Chuy's. The hostesses are usually very sweet (I wish I could remember the name of the lady who is always so sweet) but the servers vary. Some are great and full of personality and others can't be bothered or totally screw up our orders. While I wouldn't say our orders are usually complicated you might need a paper and pen to get it right due to some allergies and substitutions. Again, nothing crazy but sometimes leaving something off the plate or subbing a side for another one. The food keeps us coming back though even when the service could use a little attention. read more

THIS PLACE! I was a repeat patron of their Westheimer location and when i saw this festive place open in my area I invited my family out to try it and WORST service and food ever! There was plastic in my cousins stacked enchiladas, we asked the waitress 4xs for refill on sauce, they gave the kid crayons with nothing to draw on, she never refilled our drinks unless someone asked, i ordered Fried fish tacos and received grilled and it has a very pungent fish flavor like the fish was bad and also their tortilla was doughy and powdery on the outside and fell apart as u pick up the food. SHOULD I EVEN KEEP GOING? Oh waitress did apologize about the plastic in food and mentioned a manager coming to speak to her.... that never happened. I suggest avoiding this place! read more

We just went to this location last night. It was pretty packed when we arrived but were seated immediately. We sat right next to a big party. We thought we'd be there a while before we would get our food because of the busy atmosphere. Not even, we got our food pretty quickly. It was impressive. The best part was our waiter, Jordan. He was the friendliest waiter we've ever had. We really enjoyed having him. He kept up with our table so well even with the massive amount of customers. read more

I want to start off by saying I love chuys and have been eating at their establishment for years. I always get the green chile chicken enchiladas and its delicious! However, my 2 star review is for the terrible service I received when I was there. I visited chuys on a Wednesday night during their happy hour with 3 of my friends. It was my first time trying their happy hour and I wanted to know more about the nacho cart, our server was not thrilled and did a horrible job at explaining the process to us with no enthusiasm. When we arrived at the nacho cart, there was no cheese left and barely any meat. I'm not sure why chuys would advertise "the nacho cart" if there is nothing in there. When we ordered the margarita drinks, we got carded (which is normal for us and something I don't mind), however our server carded us twice and even got her manager involved. I never been to any establishment where the manager had to get involved when carding people. It was embarrassing and other tables were staring at us at this point. I never been so mortified at a restaurant in my life. If you enjoyed being talked down on by a waitress and having management come to your table, then please visit this location. If not you're probably better off somewhere else. read more

I think I actually tipped both waiters 10% instead of my usual 15%+. That's how lack luster it was and how ignored I felt. Both times. The atmosphere was nice with and interesting decor. This Chuy's location is horrible. Drive the extra few minutes to the woodlands. The service is very slow. They don't know how to make the boom boom sauce. They brought it out saying the boom boom sauce is not spicy but cheesy. Half our tables food came out and we had to wait 10 min for the other half. After waiting all this time not all of the food was even hot. I asked the waiter why the boom boom sauce tasted like velveeta and she goes that's how it's suppose to taste. One of us ordered a lemonade. It was half way gone and the server filled it up with water. We then went into the bathrooms and there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls or paper towels. We spent 2 1/2 hours for dinner tonight and walked away very disappointed. I have been to 5 other Chuy's locations with amazing food and service. Worst experience I have ever had at a Chuys Restaurant. First after waiting 45 minutes to be seated the waiter dropped my drink and salsa on me and my purse. They cleaned it up quickly but the service just got worse from there. We waited another 45 minutes for our food which was wrong and cold. I wanted to send it back but I had waited long enough. I then got my check and was shocked that there wasn't even a discount after my drink and salsa was dumped on me. But we had been there for over 2 hours already. First time here, very disappointed. Seating did not take long due to getting on the waiting list through yelp. We were seated, but took about 10 minutes before our waiter came to ask us for our drinks. Getting our drinks took another 10 minutes. We placed our order after getting our drinks and it took 40 minutes to get our food. Service was bad and it seemed like everyone sitting in our section was disappointed and dissatisfied. The waitress was nice and somewhat attentive. They just need to update the menus. We ordered the Grand pa's brew which should have been $11. We were charged $13.50 and it was just a regular Chuy's brew anyway. We tried to have it fixed but to no avail. read more

It was bad...The first time we went was new years day. Our waitress, though pregnant, was the best part about the whole experience. She was super attentive and everything . The issue lies in her chuychanga (the main reason we come). It was completely covered in sauce too cover up that it was burnt to a crisp... They removed her meal from the ticket and offered to make her a new one, which she declined. The second time we came out was the redemption time but it was worse. She ordered her fave the chuychanga with fajita beef and I got the Elvis, no chicken. We got our food pretty quickly and there was another issue... She cuts into her food and it's chicken... No biggie , well just tell the waitress and that'll be that... By now our section is almost emptied out but other customer's around us waiters kept popping back in to check on them... After five minutes pass she says or waitress must've taken a smoke break. At that moment I started the stopwatch on my phone. It reached 10:26 and then our waitress finally comes back and sees two full plates of food and asks do we want to go plates, we declined. She's upset because she really likes chuychangas but this location just left us weary of Chuys. We drove to pappasitos and just got fajitas there. read more

The service here absolutely sucks! The food isn't all that great either because both myself and my wife digestive issues a few hours later. The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is the fact that one of the bartenders is by far the coolest bartender I have ever met in my life! If he doesn't know how to make a drink he will Google it and then make it for you. The waitressing staff really need to get a handle on how to treat their customers especially if they want a freakin' tip. I am absolutely appalled, and I will never ever be returning. read more

We've been waiting for this location to open for months. Chuy's is our favorite Mexican food restaurant, and we've been going to the different locations since we moved to Houston 10 years ago. Every location we've visited has been excellent and this one is no exception. I'm a guacamole expert, with special needs, since I can't handle spicy foods. There's has been just right every time. I know that I can trust their other selections as well. I love enchiladas, but couldn't find a sauce that I could eat...until I tried their deluxe tomatillo sauce. I have to eat at a Chuy's restaurant or I risk getting sores in my mouth and on my tongue. I know that I'm going to get good service at Chuy's. The wait staff is all very friendly and helpful. They are prompt in taking your order and in delivering your drink and food. I've only had trouble with one employee in the ten years I've been eating at their locations. I spoke with the manager about how she brought out the wrong food and then argued that she was right, using a sarcastic tone of voice and snide comments. He apologized on her behalf, and then gave us our food for free. I was surprised by the low number of stars I've seen on other reviews. This location is very busy, and is always crowded. But that's the because it's new. If you want to eat quickly, go somewhere else. If you want excellent food and service, trust that you'll get both at every Chuy's location. Great food!!! Long wait, but sooooo worth it!! Upon checking in and getting on the waiting list, Charli offered to take our order in advance so we could just hand it to our waiter/ waitress. That really sped things up for us and was just amazing customer service! Our waitress, Robin was so friendly, fun and professional! I hate chain restaurants! This is another example of such addition to the palette of Tex Mex places that nobody needed. Unfortunately I was suckered into going with an out of town friends. First we could not be seated.... not because there were no tables available, but because there were not enough servers we were informed. Meanwhile, I observed two servers chitchatting in the bar area. Upon being seated, no drink menu - yet we are being asked for our beverage order. Next we ordered guacamole.... big mistake. Practically flavorless plus a tiny portion boosted by a hefty bed of lettuce. The Baja tacos I ordered were forgettable except for the lingering flavor overused oil for my two thin pieces of fish. In the process we had to ask for napkins three times. I'll leave it at that. If you have no other choice of restaurant- fine... but we are in Houston where you can find a nice family owned Tex-Mex joint at every other street corner. Hence I suggest to avoid this chain and drive another block to a better option. read more
