We went on a weekend and it was relatively empty. We felt at times the staff was not attentive enough and forgot to get us drinks and was generally slow. The ambiance was okay, we were by the kitchen so we got to see the action. I enjoyed my mocktail, appetizers and tacos. I probably wouldn't come back due to the service, but if you're staying at this hotel, the food is good.

First time here and it was amazing! Within the resort this restaurant is serving tasty take on Mexican cuisine. The elote appetizer was so yummy! The queso and guacamole was delicious. The drinks were so on point! Service was excellent from the time we walked up to the restaurant. Hardly anyone at the resort so getting a table was fast. Nice and warm inviting environment, great lighting and comfy chairs. Pricy- but so worth the price.

I was a bit disappointed in Cibolo Moon at the Marriott resort. The atmosphere is good as it is set-up like a high end restaurant. We came in for lunch and it was pretty empty at 1 PM on a Monday. The service was good as the waitress was friendly and kept checking on us at the right intervals. Where this place lacked was in the food. First, it was a pretty limited menu. The prices are high like any restaurant you would see at a resort. All of the dishes were large and had plenty of food but the food itself was average to just above average. The chips and guacamole were good. The guacamole was fresh and had good flavor. We added a side of salsa for an additional $4. It was tasty and had a bit of a kick to it. For lunch I had the fried chicken sandwich which came with a chipotle mayo, pickles, and a citrus coleslaw. It was just ok. The breading on the chicken was plentiful and overpowered the sandwich. It could have used about half the breading. The citrus slaw was a nice touch but barely noticeable due to the breading. The fries were pretty good with a crisp exterior but a soft deliciousness to them. While nothing was bad, nothing was truly exceptional either and for the price you paid, I would have expected a bit more in the flavor department.

I'm really surprised by the reviews. I love this place. Granted, I've only eaten here twice. First time I had a Caesar salad. It was fresh and good. Second time I had an amazing cheeseburger. The complimentary dinner rolls are amazing. I received great service both times and the decor and atmosphere are top tier. I highly recommend.

This is hard to write. I have always enjoyed Cibolo Moon. This visit, however, was average at best. The French toast was small and boring. The coffee was rich and bold! Then I also went for dinner one day. The burnet ends are NOT ends. Just brisket dipped in bbq sauce. The steak was flavorless .. literally had no seasonings. I asked for medium rare ... outside was almost burnt and the center was rare. The creme brulee was smooth with a deep vanilla flavor and glass sugar topping. The service was a mix of excellent and absent.

Definitely my favorite dining spot on the JW property. A great mix of style, service, food and local eating. If you had one place to try, this would be it. I had the double advantage of being there on a business meal and that is highly recommended. It's San Antonio. Start with a classic margarita on the rocks. Their version is perfect. Also had a southwest salad with it which I highly recommend as I totally enjoyed the cilantro lime vinaigrette. With the fixed menu options I went with the seared scallops. While small, they were very well cooked. That's tough to do and they pulled it off. Finished off with the oreo cheesecake. I'm not a cheesecake fan, but if you are you should try it. It was the only option on the fixed menu, but I can't pass it up on a biz trip.

Spent the Memorial Day weekend here at the JW Marriott to celebrate our belated 60th birthdays and couldn't be happier that we chose this restaurant to start our dinning venture. It's a casual relaxing way to finish the week. Happy and friendly staff made the experience worth while. The burnt tip brisket and cauliflower appetizer got the taste buds started on what was an excellent night of flavors and taste. Born and raised in Texas and right down the street from here, when beef is served up, you better believe we are going all in. The 16oz Dino Ribs were a chef special tonight and now one my favorite cuts of meat. The flavor and texture left me in awe of what I just put down. Meat so tender it fell off the bone at the mere thought of cutting into it. Mix in the mash potatoes and carrots as the sides and it was a delicious combination not to be missed. Couldn't leave without finishing the night with would undoubtedly be the best Key Lime Pie I ever had. Prepared fresh from the bakery here and it was something special and wouldn't be easily forgotten. The chef and crews at Cibolo Moon are shining bright and deserve this high praise.

Located inside of the JW Marriott, this restaurant is not like your typical hotel restaurant. The food is fresh and nicely flavored. We ate here for dinner and breakfast and loved all the choices ranging from buffet to single plate options. The service was great too along with the decor which was very nice. Indoor and outdoor seating options available. Standout dishes: biscuits with strawberry jalapeno jam, avocado toast with smoked salmon and the tortilla soup. The breakfast buffet was also top notch!

Great place to get food all day long! Breakfast in the morning was a great buffet with many delicious choices, and dinner was great too. I had a chicken quesadilla with guacamole and crème brûlée for dessert. The food was pretty tasty but the service was a little inattentive. They are also good with allergies.

Nice restaurant inside the JW Marriott Hill Country with plenty of seating. For breakfast, they offer a buffet for $33/person that includes pastries, eggs, fruit, cereal, made-to-order omelets, sausage, biscuits with gravy, bacon, yogurt, etc. We went at 11am which is when they switch for lunch during the week (on weekends it's at noon). We ordered the shrimp salad (they split it for us) and the chicken tacos. Both were delicious. I would order both again, especially the salad which was excellent. The lunch menu is a bit limited, but there were enough healthy and hearty options that it seems there's something for everyone (salads, burgers, pasta, chips and guac, tacos, etc.) Service was excellent as well. Our water glasses never went dry and the server was friendly and attentive. Another plus, you can make a reservation on Opentable so if you're a points collector on the app, you'll get your points here. There are lots of big tables so it's good for big groups and it does have a private room if you're having a party. The restaurant isn't particularly intimate or romantic, but it's upscale and overlooks the golf course. I would definitely go back.

Sitting in the midrange of the restaurant offerings at the JW Marriott - it is more casual and less expensive than the steakhouse but a step up from eating at the sports bar. It has ample seating to cover large parties if you have them. Dropped in for dinner here and the restaurant was not quite half full (probably because most of the guests were at holiday parties else where on the property). The staff was very courteous and pleasant, but the service was a tad on the slow side (so factor that in). You will likely also see a lot of kids about (but I got the sense they grouped the families towards the front of house that night). I did a simple dinner of a ribeye steak, baked potato and some seasonal grilled veggies (zucchini, squash, carrots etc) and had some biscuits. The baker was pretty good and the steak was cooked to order (although the steak had a spiced butter that I had them put in the side - it was ok but really not needed). It was a good solid meal without the wow factor.

The food was good. The valet parking was very expensive cost around $40. After spend $150 for dinner the parking should be free.

Both were very good. The avocado toast had a distinct lemon taste to it. The berry and goat cheese were excellent. The goat cheese, and the sweet berries made a great combination. For our main meals, we shared the eggs Benedict Trio, the Chilaquiles, the berry lemon croffle, and the banana foster French toast. The eggs Benedict Trio comes with a choice of three eggs Benedict from their menu. We had the original with Canadian bacon, the green chili pulled pork and the crabcake. Everyone loved the green chili pulled pork. The Chilaquiles came with your choice of red or green salsa. I chose the green one. It was a little spicy. It came with two eggs. I thought that it was missing some cheese. It could've also used a little bit more salsa. The banana foster French toast was to die for. Very good and definitely tastes like banana foster. The croffle was a great addition to our meal. We thought it was very good. Half of us had never had a croffle and now we are in love with them. They did give us a free desserts as we were celebrating my friend's birthday. For drinks I had the elderflower spritz. It's a little on the sweet side for me. The sangria was perfect. The Waitress very nice. She was working the inside and the outside, But we never had an issue getting her attention or with any of our requests

Your choice of main with salad or dessert orrrrrrr for +$3 you get all 3! Our server asked us if we wanted bread, and we said yes. The complimentary breads were nice and warm- a mixture of freshly made white and a dried fruit nut bread. The dark bread with dried fruit/nuts was my fave and highly addictive lol Ordered : Baby spinach salad with Brie on the side- fresh spinach drizzled with a light vinaigrette and sprinkled with pieces of dried fruit and bacon. The breaded/fried Brie was ooey gooey goodness. Hubby had the Classic Caesar and he enjoyed it. Both salads were decent large bowl portions. Grilled miso glazed Atlantic salmon- fresh, earthy, healthy, and delicious! A good piece of salmon cooked to perfection in a mild miso glaze and topped with an avocado relish. Everything (the quinoa, toasted cashews, grilled bok choy, and salmon) paired and blended so well together. Pure delish. I was completely full afterwards, but hubby had some space for dessert. Choices for dessert were limited to 3 - crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, or toasted coconut mousse pie. We chose the dark chocolate mousse- absolutely beautiful! Dark chocolate was sinfully good, cocoa nibs added a slightly crunch, and the berries were fresh and plump. We were happily stuffed. Service was excellent and food delicious. We would definitely revisit.

Trust me, I'm your girl for detailed reviews. This is my version of short. Haha. I have had a lot of Texas Barbecue. Was an obsessive follower of The Texas Monthly Top 50 for many years, have been to most of the veteran winners all across the state. This is being shared so that readers can understand I have high standards for barbecue. .5 pounds Brisket, almost always the star of the show. Some moist and tender pieces, some more dry. Some marbling, not enough. 6.5/10. .25 pounds Pork Loin. Also inconsistent. The worst pieces were overcooked and even burnt. A couple did have good flavor and tenderness. 5.5/10. .25 pounds Pork Ribs. Aside from some parts too chewy, the sweetness and rich flavor was actually very well infused. Could have used maybe a little more moistness, but excellent nevertheless. 7/10. Pint of Macaroni & Cheese. Not enough cheesiness or flavor. Bland overall. 3.5/10. Pint of Pinto Beans. Smokey Mo's advertises these as "award winning"? What awards? As good as a seasoned can of HEB beans. Granted, HEB has some quality food, but still. If I can get it from a can, it isn't that epic. 5/10. Pint of Roasted Creamed Corn. Now, these should be "award winning"! The right amount of sweet to savory. The additional parsley and parmesan cheese are perfect choices. 8.5/10. Mo's Original Barbecue Sauce. Has a distinct tone tinge of spiciness. Not too much, but I would call it more spicy than sweet. Not usually a huge fan of barbecue sauces- camp you shouldn't need condiments when the meat it good enough- but it was a nice addition, better than average. 6/10. Complimentary bread, onions, pickles, as expected, no complaints- in fact, the pickles were actually fresher and maybe even higher quality than average. I know inflation is inevitable, but around $40 all said and done feels very high for what was given, and since barbeque is always on the higher side for a casual meal, the quality needs to be high, too. No room for average when they are charging this much TLDR? Too much average and good enough from Mo for me to see him again.
