Now City Barbeque does not have a fall apart Texas style brisket, but what is does have is a nice semi fatty cut of brisket. I tried another barbecue franchise here in Atlanta, years ago and understand some will serve a bone dry brisket. Thank goodness that was not what I found when I unwrapped my sandwich. The rub is real salty but tasty and I tend to eat my brisket without sauce, if you know you know. I will be back. I went here based on a recommendation. I ordered curbside. After the time passed for them to bring my food I called and was told in a rude manner that they have 15 orders so it'll be awhile. I went inside and my order was sitting on the counter with 5 other orders. They were unorganized and one of the employees was cursing with no regard for customers. I also loved the BBQ sauce and it was so good and not too thin. The only reason it isn't five stars is that the ribs were not quite as tender as I like but overall so good. The fries were also pretty good and it is a good price for how big the sandwich is. The lemonade is also pretty tasty. Ours girls can be a little difficult when they are hungry so it's very easy to order at the register and then get them seated to wait for their food. The more cowbell sandwich, my favorite thing on their menu, is delicious (though I usually remove the onions due to personal preference)! The beef is always just how I like it and very juicy! My husband always gets their ribs (with a side salad at my insistence). We used to love their coleslaw but they might have changed the recipe because it is not how I remember it. The staff are polite most of the time. A few times I have ordered and a few have been less than enthused to be there, but 9/10 times they are very friendly! During the call the representative asked me a million questions and collected personal data. It got to the point where I had to ask her why she needed all this information for an order they got wrong- she said I want to add you to our rewards program. I said lady, this is my first time at your establishment and you all messed up my order. I really just want to correct it. I asked if I could pick up the correct sandwich the next day because it was late and I didn't want to drive all the way back to Decatur so late. Rearly do I find a BBQ place with such great sides. This hit it. Green beans are the bomb followed by the Collard and potatoe salad. I rarely eat anybody potato salad but my Mom. Unfortunately they didn't include the chicken tender or any sauces that we ordered. The only thing that was inedible was the skin on the chicken. Tough like leather. I was super excited to try this place. The inside reminded me of a new aged BBQ spot in NC somewhere...it smelled amazing and I wanted to try everything! That made for disappointment. The pulled pork however was as great! The brisket baked beans had no flavor and lacked sweetness (personal preference) it also only had tiny pieces of brisket in it. The best part of this experience was the sweet tea/lemonade mix that I made in the dining room and the BBQ sauce. That vinegar sauce was DYNAMITE! I wouldn't normally feel the need to leave a positive review for curbside pickup a year into the pandemic but this is one the very few places that does it right. They deserve recognition for it. You don't need to download an app, the system will still send you updates via text and you can actually reply by text. The response to your replies are instant and clear instructions for pickup are relayed. I ordered two meals worth of food 3 hours ahead. My food was ready and delivered to my vehicle 3 minutes past my designated pick up time during Saturday dinner rush. Everything was warm, fresh, and well packaged. Nothing missing. Which is a sad thing that I feel the need to comment on. I've had to cancel orders and charges from several other businesses in the area because they can't get it right. I ordered pulled pork sandwich, two sides potato salad and Mac and cheese. I was most pleased about be offered to sample the sides before ordering. Everything was delicious, the pulled pork sandwich had a lot of meat on it, enough for two sandwiches. I liked the variety of barbque sauces to choose from. I stuck with the sweet barbeque flavor.
