It was Halloween, and my wife and I were walking around the beach and boardwalk looking for a place with a good happy hour. Just down the road we found KC's Bistro, checked out the menu on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. As usual, we sat in the bar area. We ordered drinks -- I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had a Margarita -- and the happy hour prices were great. While we were deciding on dinner, it was fun seeing all the kids and adults in costumes walking around the shopping area and restaurants. It added a nice festive atmosphere to the evening. For dinner, we ordered: CK's 1/2 lb Bistro Burger -- with bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house-made signature sauce (added cheese for $1.25) Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich -- with prosciutto, Swiss, provolone, parmesan aioli on a brioche bun, with a side salad instead of fries While we waited, we overheard other guests enjoying the happy hour food items. One table told us how delicious everything was and mentioned that the chef previously worked for a famous chef before opening this place. When our food arrived, everything was excellent. My burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries were amazing. My wife's Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich was also very good, and the side salad was fresh and flavorful. A table next to us ordered the fries topped with bacon jam -- they looked incredible, and the guy told us they were amazing. That's definitely something we'll be trying next time. And we will be back -- in about 3-4 weeks! Overall, KC's Bistro is absolutely going on our list of go-to restaurants when we're in town.

2/26- another GREAT dining experience! Group of 8 ladies. Our lunches came out together. Food was amazing! Servers were alert and on the ball. The meals and dessert were fantastic!

Had an amazing meal last night at CK's! Chef Kevin is wonderful. This was our second Chef's service meal! Five incredibly tasty plates, paired with great wine! I could not recommend this place enough! A must visit weather you're a local or tourist.

CK's Bistro is in the Market Common. We went there for lunch and he said it seemed a bit pricey. We sat outside at the picnic table and it seemed like it took a long time to get our food. I got the black and blue burger and he got the small spinach salad. (It is tiny). My burger was okay but I did not taste any blue on it. Would I come back here. Probably not.

first time at CK's and I must say it was absolutely excellent! The restaurant as a whole felt clean and classy while still having a warm, cozy neighborhood feel. The food- I got the grouper special- came with lightly fried grouper, shrimp, on a bed of risotto and zucchini with a delicious balsamic glaze.... I was BLOWN away!! My favorite vacation meal yet. You can tell that the food is made in house with care. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and the chef came around to check on the tables to see how the meals came out. Overall- highly recommend this hidden gem, especially if you're sick of all the other tourist traps! We will be back!!

This was our second visit and one thing I've definitely learned my lesson on, is ask the price of the specials! $12 for the special watermelon high drink of the day and over $50 for beef short ribs & mashed potatoes seemed a bit excessive, and didn't include a salad just 5 skinny asparagus stalks. They both were good but not at those prices. My husband had Chicken Parmesan that was more reasonably priced and very nice size portion. We had their bread pudding that was just OK. Hate not being able to give a higher rating, as we really like to see support local businesses and Chef Kevin is definitely a hardworking guy.

We spend a lot of time in Market Commons. They have a lot of chain restaurants, but this is one of the local standouts. It is upscale food with a nice casual ambiance. They offer several Italian dishes, American food, and daily specials. My son ordered the charcuterie board which was delicious. It has an Italian theme with prosciutto and other Italian cheeses. It would go well with wine. I had the chicken marsala and salad. The salad was very fresh and I love the balsamic. The chicken was very tender and I like the variety of mushrooms. For dessert we split mini cannolis. Those were also very tasty.

Sat at the bar for a quick app before walking around. Place is quaint and designed wee for the small space. I know Chef works really hard at keeping this place up and running. Had the zucchini app. Was perfect. Will be back.

Beautiful new restaurant with sumptuous food! Our hosts who live here never tried CK's so that was fun. Shane was our server (perhaps owner too?) and very cordial and friendly. I had the pan seared crab-cakes, that came with asparagus. I subbed the fingerling potatoes for sweet potato fries. Others had penne vodka, crab cake egg rolls and a fish special. We all loved our meals (and alcoholic beverages). I foresee a very successful new business! Kudos!!!

Luckily I saw a packed place on Mr. Joe White Avenue called Simply Southern Smokehouse. Place looked legit and had a full parking lot so I pulled in. There is only one way in and once you get in, the cashier is on the right with the $15 all you can eat buffet right next to it. The $15 also included all you can drink soft drinks, water and sweet tea. I paid my money and grabbed a plate and ran right up to the buffet. They start out light with vegetables and sides, working up to the main courses of fried chicken, fried fish, pulled pork, smoked chicken and some hot wings. After that, they had some mac & cheese, and then the desserts which was blueberry cobbler, peach cobbler, homemade banana pudding...and a couple of other things. I started off with some broad beans, stewed okra and tomatoes, smoked chicken and hot wings. I brought my plate and my silverware to an empty table, which was getting hard to find as the place was so packed and then went up to fetch me a glass of water to wash it down with. They serve Pepsi products and of course sweet tea but I was going to save my calories for dessert. The place was clean, well lit and the seating was well designed with booths along the wall and tables in the center... and plenty of room between the tables. Once seated I dug right in. The broad beans were excellent. Done right and full of flavor. The stewed tomatoes and okra, although cook correctly was a bit bland for my liking. The smoked chicken was excellent and I used a bit of the golden SC BBQ sauce on it...great...and homemade. The hot wings were the real deal meaty and moist with a nice kick. I finished the plate in about five minutes. Time for round two. On my second trip up, I put some collard greens, lima beans, a piece of fried chicken and a piece of fried fish on the fresh plate. As I sat down to eat, I put a bit of hot vinegar sauce on the collard greens and dug in. The collards were excellent and the homemade vinegar hot sauce gave it a bit of a kick and bite. The Lima beans were soft and loaded with flavor. I then moved on to the fried chicken, which was cooked correctly with the skin crispy and well battered and the meat moist on the inside. That said, it was bland. Given how well the beans were seasoned I was surprised. Same thing with the fish, but they had a real good house sauce for it which gave it a nice flavor and saved it, but overall both the fried chicken and the fried fish were bland. I then went up for a plate number three and realized I was not gonna be able to eat anymore mains, which was a shame since the pulled pork looked great... It will have to wait for the next time I come. I did, however leave a bit of room for dessert and I'm glad I did . The banana pudding was delicious with a full banana taste and 'Nilla wafers on top and bottom adding a bit of crunch. I only had enough room for one of the cobbler so I chose peach and it did not disappoint. Nice and warm with a sweet peach flavor and tasty crumbles. I wanted more but controlled myself. As I got up to leave, I placed five dollars on the table for the cleanup guy who was hustling and keeping the place neat and tidy. I then looked around and noticed this was a real local spot full of people from Myrtle Beach. You have families, elderly people, young people, construction workers and people from local businesses. For $15 it cannot be beat. Not only will I be back again but I plan on bringing some of my friends from up north who are going to love this place...plus I gotta try that pulled pork and Mac and cheese...if the fried chicken and fish have more seasoning, I'll up them to 5 stars.

Our server was fantastic--very attentive, bringing out our drinks super quickly and checking in just when we were ready to order. The menu has tons of wonderful options, from fresh salads to hearty sandwiches and their signature brewery-inspired dishes. Prices are a bit on the higher side for lunch, but the quality makes it completely worth it. I went with the Caesar salad topped with salmon, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly dressed--the salmon was cooked just right. My husband ordered the French dip with fries, and he raved about how juicy and tender the beef was. Portions weren't enormous, but they were more than adequate and left us satisfied without feeling stuffed. The highlight was definitely sitting outside in the spring sunshine, people-watching in the vibrant Market Common area while enjoying the relaxed vibe. The patio setup with umbrellas kept it comfortable, and the whole atmosphere felt welcoming and lively in the best way. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Myrtle Beach--great food, excellent service, and that outdoor seating on a perfect day is hard to beat!
