My friend and I went for their High Tea service and it was a fun experience learning about tea and food pairings that go well with the different teas! It seems they set up the tables and chairs for High Tea. The shop is colorful and vibrant, there's something to see in every nook & cranny! There were 5 courses with 5 different teas, from herbal to green to black teas. I loved how Leo, the owner, explained the process of making tea, where each tea came from, and how to savor the tea, much like wine tasting! We ate appetizers, salad, salmon, and dessert to go with it all. Leo is very knowledgeable about teas, they make all the teas they sell, by the ounce. Highly recommend for a unique tea experience!

A unique tea tasting experience for the High Tea reservation. We had 5 tastings of tea and small plates, which were all delightful. I especially enjoyed the dolmas and Mediterranean stuffed bread. Our host and owner of the shop was knowledgeable and friendly. Great local place! Side note: there was so AC so we were a bit hot even with fans but not sure if it was out or this is usual.

Great service, the ambiance is nice and peaceful, the smell when you walk in already allows you to be calm in your ways. The food was delicious and paired well with the experience. I had the breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon roll, the Ms.'s had the same sandwich but with a blueberry muffin. Great place and will be back for lunch !!

Super cute coffee and tea spot! Ordered a hot mocha & blueberry muffin - so good & great presentation! They have a self-serve tea station where you can create your personalized tea blend. Almost bought some just to go through the experience! Awesome customer service as well - we will definitely be back!

Where are you from and where would you wish to go map? Such a great touch.

Such good food and immaculate energy. You should definitely come here whenever you get the chance. Owner is great and the space is so niche and hippie.

This spot always serves up good vibes and tasty treats...Leo never disappoints! The new matcha drinks are great. I love a good Chai so I tried the Chai Spice Matcha. Next time I'm going with the Mexican Hot Chocolate Matcha. It was just what I needed on a hot Sacramento summer day!

First visit today, won't be the last. Amazing place. A bright, beautiful, peaceful vibe. Had a drink called the Classy Horchata Latte with oat milk. Can't remember what my friends had but we were all really really satisfied and happy with our drinks. They have these cool tall bamboo glasses the drinks were served in. The owner was welcoming and helpful as we navigated the drink menu and the incredible teas we went home with. Will be back to try the high tea, which are on Saturdays from 1-3, I believe. Didn't try food today but the display cases had a great spread of options.

This is my first time at this place. Ambiance: you can't get better when the owner introduced himself and is genuinely happy you are there. The music is perfect it is NOT to loud. I would just like it a bit cooler in the space. A little more a/c. Service: Everyone was kind. I love the mellow vibe. The barista was so kind and I loved it. Food: I had the Philly steak. It was great. It was the perfect size and the onions and pepper were great. I would like some cheese on it. My iced coffee was amazing. I will be back and with people!

Can't wais to make me a cup.

Classy Hippie Tea is a whole vibe! I love the education you get when you inquire about the offerings. I will be incorporating their herbal and green teas into my healing journey. Also learned that this spot is not just about selling tea but about empowering people to cultivate a lifestyle of well-being. I highly recommend visiting, sipping some tea, and checking out the many ways they engage the community in the art and wellness of tea.

Came here for the tea pairing on a first visit to Sacramento. I think calling it "high tea" doesn't give it enough credit. This is not a stop for a light bite, loads of pastries, and...by the way, tea. This puts a spotlight on tea that uniquely highlights how tea and food can enhance and complement each other. I'm a long-time fan of tea, and have tried many different kinds, but this experience opened my eyes to new opportunities for tea as not just a morning and evening beverage, but something that can legitimately enhance a meal. The super tender chicken and tea pairing is not one I'd ever think of, but the subtle reflection of spices in each, made them better together than apart. Also, the loose leaf tea selection on site is amazing. I've never been a big fan of rooibos, but the Vanilla Horchata blend with the delicate almond notes is now one of my favorites! Highly recommend, and many thanks to Leo for the expert curation!

The banana flavor paired surprisingly well with the matcha and made for a really refreshing drink. It was one of those drinks that I immediately knew I'd order again. But honestly, the highlight wasn't even the drink itself. It was the adorable little elephant vessel it came with. They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It felt like getting both a treat and a souvenir. The café itself had a fun atmosphere, and it was one of those places that felt a little different from your typical coffee or tea stop. Helpful tip: If it's your first visit, order one of the drinks served in the elephant. The presentation alone is worth it, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the banana matcha and my daughter's excitement over the smoking elephant, this ended up being one of those unexpectedly memorable stops we'll be talking about for a while.

The Black Sesame French Toast was fantastic! We also got the Date-Orange Latte and the Salted Honey Lavender Latte, both tasted great! Our three drinks took less than 10 minutes, and I think the French Toast took exactly ten minutes. Not long at all, and it was busy when we were there(11am). My order was to-go, and they were all perfectly packaged! My drink wasnt too sweet which I prefer. The hojicha latte was great as well! You don't see this often if at all so it was a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly and they were patient when I had questions on the standard vs the "twice" drinks. They have a shared parking lot which helps as they are off a busy stretch of road. The cons: They do not have size options for their beverages. Which for the most part isn't an issue except when I wanted a large drink. Which is why I bought 2. They partnered with Pastry Cat and unfortunately the common theme was they never had pastries even in 9am window. Not their fault but maybe partnering with a patisserie that offers consistent inventory might be worthwhile? The ambience is less "come and enjoy your drink" and more "we don't have enough seating"and use the space efficiently. I think if they update the layout of the tables and chairs, it would feel more inviting to sit for a bit or meet up with friends. The parking lot. It's terrible, crowded and people don't know how to park. I saw a couple of cars almost back into eachother while waiting and I was grateful I parked on the street and walked. Overall, the quality of the drinks and the friendliness are great and that receives 4 stars. If you want a quality matcha drink then give them a try. But I have access to other cafes that meet my needs; enough that Offbeat will be more of an off the beaten path option than a regular one.

We especially excited to try the instant ramen maker. We walked in and ordered in the kiosk. The menu had different teas, mochi donuts, dumplings, corndogs, and other snacks. However, after ordering we noticed the ramen wasn't on there. We asked the staff and they said the ramen maker wasn't working so that was disappointing. They were also out of something I ordered and they were able to refund me. The drinks and food took a bit to come out. The wonton and dumplings were ok, but the soup it came in was pretty good. The taro drink and mochi dog we got were good. Inside was very picturesque with a good amount of seating. The ramen wall was impressive and had a good selection. It served more for a decoration that day than for eating. But we loved the cute tree and floral wall. They also had some games for you to play with while waiting. Overall everything was ok but maybe we'll be back to give it another try.
