We got appetizer of artichoke spinach dip. It was ok.. very small portion with a minimal amount of tortilla chips. Tasted eh. Would stick with what they are known for... BBQ. We got one order of Mac n cheese with added pulled pork side and one order of half rack of ribs with side of Mac n cheese and a huge jalapeño corn bread. slice. W O W... was AMAZING. Do not waste your money. Our food was cold and bland. My daughter ordered Steak Frites and it was very small and was served luke warm, almost like it was previously cooked and just warmed up. My chicken caesar salad was quite small for the price. I asked for the dressing on the side and it was chunky like mayonnaise and had some congealed stuff on top. Not sure who would serve it to a customer like that. Also my daughter ordered lemonade, it came in a pretty small cup, and so she asked for a refill. They charged us $4 for EACH glass. Then we had to ask twice for a straw for her and the waitress finally brought one over, unwrapped and was holding it by the top... so unsanitary! I would like to say that was the only unsanitary thing in there but I can't ! I would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

It was our first time here at Cleat & Anchor. We came for dinner and found the environment to be excellent. It was lively and festive, with friends and families gathered around the bar and others coming onto a makeshift stage to sing karaoke. It was clear that there was a strong sense of community here among the regular patrons, and it's hard not to get caught up in all their enthusiasm. The service was also excellent and the restaurant itself was very clean. We ordered a wagyu burger and a scallop risotto. The burger itself was fairly standard and enjoyable. The risotto seemed like it was made with a no-stir or minimal-stir method; the rice was still a bit firm and not as creamy as a traditional risotto. There was quite a bit of butter added to enhance the creaminess, which made it richer than I would've liked, but it really depends on your personal tastes. The presentation of the dish was great, and the scallops were perfectly cooked aside from the heavy use of butter. Food was pretty good, I got a salad and it was just a plain salad but I really like the white balsamic vinaigrette and also they gave lots of chicken which I appreciate. I also got a side of mac and cheese and the side was a very good portion it was mid tasting kinda plain not as sharp of cheese flavor as I would have like tho. Dessert I got a slice of milky way cake and it was so good usually cake desserts from restaurants I find not as good but it was soooo delicious! Service was great and friendly! We have been visiting this restaurant since they opened every year on vacation, that has ended after dinner there tonight. I don't recommend this restaurant, especially their ribs unless you like your mouth and esophagus to be scorched by cracked black pepper. Also the manager never made anything right. This place was pretty good. I'm only giving it 3 stars right now because COVID 19 has you eating outside or take home. It was too windy to eat outside so we too our food home. I did love the host and the staff and how quick they were with orders! A+ on that. Loved the tots, main reason why I went there, instagram. My absolute favorite place to eat on the Cape. Slightly pricier than your average Cape Cod restaurant, but they have the high quality food and creative drinks to back it up! This is a great place to go with a group of friends, they usually have live music and do weekly events like music bingo. The staff is always courteous and parking has never been an issue for me! I feel like this spot is a hidden gem of the Cape. Definitely worth a visit! Try out their swordfish along with their fruit pebble drink. read more

Came here on a Friday night with a group of five, wasn't super busy and we sat outside. Great outdoor seating area with a few corn hole boards. I personally didn't play corn hole while we were there but someone in my group said the corn hole bags were mislabeled. They were missing a blue bag and one of the red bags was labeled with a "B" for blue. Not a big deal to some, but if you are a corn hole aficionado you may be disappointed. Overall the food was very mediocre. The tater tots were great, but can you really mess those up? The chicken sandwiches were dry, the brisket sandwich was inedible. Asked for Buffalo wings and they put Buffalo sauce on the side. We also asked for Buffalo sauce on the chicken sandwiches and they were unable to accommodate us, Buffalo sauce was put on the side. The drinks were great, I had a peach cocktail. Service wasn't bad, our server was friendly but didn't seem to notice the uneaten brisket sandwich on our table nor did she offer to take it off the bill. Astounding. From the first greeting to the free GIANT piece of cheesecake, Cleat and Anchor was perfection. There were nine of us in our party. 2 of us are from the area, but none of us have ever been here. And we almost didn't because one of us wanted asian food. I'm so glad they lost the vote! The host was so welcoming and kind and helpful. When I asked for a gluten free menu he pointed out the menu to me and explained everything. So refreshing not to be met with blank stares and shrugs. Crighton was our server and gave us first rate service. I'm not kidding. Refills were immediate. There were nine of us so I understand it can be daunting- especially with everyone ordering different appetizers and salads and soups and beer and mocktails and sodas and wine. But he was top notch. He was friendly and knew his menu inside and out. He even went through the long list of specials twice. The charcuterie and cheese boards were absolutely delicious. The chicharron melted in our mouths and the brisket- omg. Everything was pleasantly unexpected. Who is the head chef? He or she is incredible. GLUTEN FREE seems to be standard. Everything that goes into the fryer is GF. Which meant I got to have fried pickles. And anything fried. Wooo. As a celiac, I'm hardcore cheering. There was a minor hiccup that I wasn't even bothered by- they accidentally put a spicy rub on my chicken and immediately went to remake it. To make up for this trivial mistake, the chef comped a GIANT piece of the most delicious cheesecake I have ever had! The crust was GF. I haven't written a review in awhile, mostly because nothing has impressed me in a long time. But this place, which seems to be sitting at 3.5 stars, clearly deserves a solid 5. read more

I love love love love the cleat not only for their affordable, AMAZING cocktail list (the peach drink is truly the best drink I've ever had in my life omg u have to go get it) but I've been dying to go for brunch since they started it and we finally made it on New Year's Day! The food was great. Innovative, fun menu with many different options, and definitely a step above your average breakfast/brunch menu. Love visiting Dana as she always takes good care of us the owners are always on site and it is evident to me that they put a GREAT deal of effort into making the cleat an amazing place to dine and to grab a drink later on in the evening. Met an old friend for dinner here last weekend. She used to work there when it was Rum Runners years back. This was my first time going since the new owners took over and changed from Rum Runners, which used to be a epic summer spot for many years. Still sad it's gone even though I haven't been since maybe 2013/14? But the ambiance is still rustic and welcoming. They had a full staff on someone greeting you and we settled in at the bar. They have a tremendous cocktail and beer menu. Something different for everyone. I could tell my friend had Rum Runners still in her veins as she ordered a Rum Runner drink. I went for a cider which was sour but still very tasty and refreshing. For apps we ordered the tater tots loaded and salad, which was huge. Too f'n big. But the tots were very good, would take 3/4 people to finish one of those off b/c of all the cheese and toppings. Main dish I was craving something of comfort and tasty on a snowy Saturday, so I chose the Sheppard's Pie which was a special of the day. Very good, piping hot w a lot of flavorful meat w carrots and peas and small amount of onions (thank god) topped w/ potato. Friend had the chicken piccata. Which she seemed to enjoy. Not a bad place. We ended up here on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm and were seated immediately. The summer special beer bucket was fun- 3 mystery beers brought to your table in an ice bucket for $10; not a bad deal! The crab bruschetta appetizer, unfortunately, was not so great. The crab was surprisingly "fishy" in a not so great way, too much tomato, not enough mozzarella, and the sauce made it all mushy. That app needs some work. My lobster BLT was tasty, though it was piled so high with so much stuff that I had to deconstruct it and couldn't really enjoy it as a sandwich. $40 bucks too- wish I had clarified the "market price" before I ordered it. My mistake. My partner's roasted half chicken was well cooked but completely under seasoned and the potatoes and vegies were "soupy" from too much au jus. It just seemed like each food item was just shy of being really good with a few tweaks. If circumstance brought me here again, I'd give it a 2nd try with some of their less expensive faire. read more

We came with 9 minutes to the kitchen closing and this wonderful bald gentleman fit us in (I also think he cooked our food) we got the fried artichoke and the summer pasta. MY GOODNESS was it good. Visited this establishment for the 1st time last night. The location is nice and when you 1st walk in the bar is on your left filled with people enjoying the game. The restaurant itself is very nice with open glass to enjoy the outside in the cooler weather. The waitress was very knowledgeable and quick to answer questions and give welcomed advice. My wife got the shepherds pie and I got the BBQ brisket sandwich. The taste was very midwestern I thought not a lot of flavor especially the BBQ was not the wow popping taste I love in a good BBQ brisket. I asked for BBQ sauce and they brought out a little cup and I was charged 50 cents. No salt or pepper on tables and to ask felt like you might be insulting the chef so that was uncomfortable. The portions and presentation were amazing and all the food that left the kitchen looked really good. I was going to only give 3 stars because the food was bland however I really want to give the cleat and anchor another shot down the road. Love the vibe here. Casual with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside at a high top on a beautiful evening. There's about 4-5 high tops and 3-4 picnic tables, and corn hole! It's a fun atmosphere. We chose the location because of the amount of gluten free options (I have celiac). The waiter informed us that most of the menu is gluten free except for the pasta and bread. I was very pleased with all the options I had to choose from! Ended up with the clam chowder and fish n chips. Chowder was really good. Fish was great, but wish the chips were fries instead of tater tots (picky, I know). The food was good and large portions. I also got a mocktail that was delicious! I liked how the menu had specific mocktails listed, about 6 or 7. They also had a large selection of beers, wines and cocktails. We tried the gluten free cheesecake for dessert which was pretty good. Not a great experience. We were the only people in the restaurant and they could not substitute another vegetable for broccolini. The bake potato was rubbery like it had been made the day before and warmed up. Prime rib was way over cooked. The server asked how things were and I said just OK - and, she just walked away before I could explain. We travel over from Boston a lot and wanted to try Cleat & Anchor. So, we did and it was terrible. Basically due to pure laziness of the server and kitchen. We love Scargo Cafe. Never have a bad meal or service there. read more
