Love the fireplace! It adds just the right touch if you're lucky enough to get a table near the warmth. It's appears to be in a house and that adds to the comfy factor. Wait staff is very attentive and the food was definitely fresh. The chocolate lava cake came out about 10 minutes after I ordered it and just seemed to have warm chocolate poured over it. I'm used to having to order it at the beginning of the meal so it has time to cook. While it was moist and tasty, it didn't meet my expectations as the "lava" wasn't inside the middle of the cake. Expect to pay as much as any other high end steakhouse. I would definitely return.

Food was great. The porterhouse for 2 was perfect for my group of 3 because one of us doesn't eat a lot of meat. It came medium rare as we ordered and was flavorful! We added oysters and sautéed mushrooms to share. The oysters were good, nothing special. The mushrooms were okay but didn't seem fresh and came drenched in sauce that made it too heavy of a dish. My only beef with this restaurant is that the service was appallingly bad. We came in and were quickly seated. It was JUST us and one other group at our 3PM reservation during our whole meal. No one else. A bunch of wait staff were loitering around. We waited for a while before a waiter finally asked if we wanted any drinks (at this point, we still had no menu so I'm guessing he just meant water). More time passes and we were finally given a menu. During this whole time, it felt like we were at a funeral. It was quiet and not a single waiter had a pleasant expression in greeting. We decided our orders pretty quickly since the menu was small. The waiters gave us the absolute MINIMAL effort for service. I know this for a fact because they literally couldn't even spare time to give their specials for the day. We had to ASK for it and there was a crap ton of specials that we wouldn't have known about had we not ask. When the bread came, my husband requested for the bread to be warmed up. The waiter came back with it toasted, charred, and hard as a rock. The olive oil was cheap, and the balsamic vinegar tasted like soup dumpling ginger soy sauce (I wish I was joking). Nothing against soy sauce but we were hoping for it to taste like balsamic vinegar... When the sizzling plates came, only two plates sizzled. This is a major highlight for their restaurant's dining experience so you'd think the waiter would consider getting a new hot plate for the sizzle, but no, that was not the case. We had to ask for it. We also had to ask for more water. And for more sizzling plates to cook the rest of the steak. AND for the steak sauce, which was just A1 sauce. Overall, we would not visit again. My friend who was with us and had been the one to recommend the place said she'd give it a 3/10 stars compared to last time she went with a date. Maybe the evening staff is better, or maybe it was because we were stereotyped for being Asian and for potentially tipping poorly, I don't know. Either way, it was a Saturday and we were the first guests - you'd think the staff would be more energized and ready! The decent food does not make up for how we were treated. Save your money and go elsewhere.

If you're looking for quality steakhouse dining then this place is the spot. From the appetizers to the entrees to the porterhouse it met expectations and upped the bar. Not one item or dish underwhelmed, or felt cheap or old. Quality ingredients were used in all the dishes. My favorite was the flavoring on the steak, and how it came out. They have a very hot plate where they add some butter which will cook some of your steak once placed on your plate. There are a few restaurants that use this technique. But, the flavors this porterhouse had stood out. I've had steaks from a wide range of restaurants, but this place seemed to use the right spices and grilling method. It was crusty on the outside, and juicy on the inside. Very very tasty. The staff here are super friendly, courteous, and very accommodating. All ways around when you need them, and out of site when you don't. This restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining. The indoor dining feels homey, since the establishment is built on a house-like dwelling. It did not take away from the intimacy feel.

The food was amazing the steak just melted in my mouth. They even chopped my filet for me. Multiple varieties of food all super good. Really kind and amazing staff. Overall an amazing dinner experience.

Cozy restaurant that's easy to miss, but worth the visit. My glass was never empty and staff were very attentive. Staff did not wear masks all the time, but I'm not sure what the rules are since I went to the mall earlier and no one was wearing them nor was it being enforced. Anyway, I ordered the sirloin and it was cooked to perfection. I even ordered the cheese ravioli and it was delicious. The table behind me ordered veal and it was sizzling and the smell was mouthwatering.

Great family restaurant. The staff was tentative and the boss ensure we were having a great meal. The dry aged steak and lamb chop was amazing to perfection. Our side of cream spinach, hash brown and a marinara pasta made the meal perfectly balanced. Can't asked for a better meal with friends and family.

Had dinner here last night for the first time with a couple of friends, and it did not disappoint! Everyone ordered filet mignon and each steak was perfectly cooked and came out sizzling. Butter garlic sauce on the steaks was amazing. While we were eating, our waiter brought out a complimentary plate of pasta for the table which was fantastic. Rigatoni Bolognese which had the most tender, delicious meat and an amazing sauce over pasta that was cooked perfectly al dente. After dinner and dessert, the waiter brought out a bottle of complimentary Limoncello for the table which we all enjoyed. Our waiter's name was Peter and he provided excellent, attentive service throughout the entire evening. The owner also visited our table a number of times during dinner to make sure that we were all enjoying ourselves-which we were! Overall, we had a great experience at Cliff's and will definitely be returning in the future to try more of their menu! Would recommend to anyone looking for a tasteful and delicious meal and awesome service.

It's been a minute since I last dined at Sofia in Englewood. I was in the area this past Sunday,…read moreand decided to stop by for a late night cocktail and snack. It's refreshing to find a steakhouse that serves food and drinks late on a Sunday night. The decor, vibes, and clientele are upscale. It's not uncommon for exotic cars to pull up at the valet station. We sat at the bar and were waited on by James who had a great personality and a flair for mixing cocktails. The "White Walker" is a long-standing cocktail on the Sofia menu, and it really hit the spot (Ketel One vodka, coconut cream, lychee, lemon and club soda). My wife tried the "Geisha's Lullaby" - a Japanese whisky cocktail with pistachio, lime, falernum and vanilla. This cocktail was outstanding! On the food side, I ordered Cacio E Pepe. I enjoyed it. Not creamy like the typical cacio e pepe, but the pasta was served over a delicious slice of beef carpaccio. I'd rate it a 4.5 of 5.0. To finish the evening, I enjoyed a pour of Redbreast 12 from Sofia's wall of spirits. Whiskey lovers will enjoy the options, including luxury pours. My wife tried a Peaches in Paris cocktail - white peach puree, vodka, lemon, St. Germain, and Peychaud's bitters. The Peychaud's bitters bullied this cocktail making it slightly unbalanced. Overall though, we loved the cocktail program.

I went to Home BX Steak for my 36th birthday dinner, and overall it was a mixed experience…read more The ambience is really cute--definitely a nice spot for a celebration or a night out. The service was also top tier. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time, which I really appreciated for a special occasion. As for the food, it was just okay. My steak had a bit more fat than I would've liked, and while it was still decent, it didn't fully meet my expectations. The drinks were on the sweeter side, which may be a plus for some, but weren't really my preference. My friends and family felt pretty similar--everyone said their food was okay, nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out. Overall, it's a cute spot with great service, but the food could definitely be better. I'd still consider going back for the vibe and maybe trying different menu items.

Celebrated Father's Day here. I actually liked the decor and set up of the restaurant…read more I was disappointed in the appetizers that was available on Father's Day. There really wasn't much to share with small kids so we settled on bacon - yes you read that right. They have bacon as an appetizer lol. It was ok - on the thicker side and a little greasy. I had the seafood pasta, others had the steak and the short ribs. The pasta was creamy and the steak was good. The short ribs I didn't care for the sauce it was cooked in. We also had pitchers of Sangria - we figured it would be cheaper than paying by glass but beware the pitchers are $110 each. The restaurant is not cheap but it's nice to have a more upscale restaurant on that side of The Bronx. I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind going back.

When I arrived the entire lower level was empty. Not only did they make no gesture to accommodate them in any other way, this is an EXTREME ADA violation, and could have very well been a lawsuit. The manager, Jimmy, sat and watched as both my grandmother and great uncle struggled to take the stairs, no hand of assistance. When I approached him, I was told 'what's the big deal, so you had to take some stairs'. I told him my uncle fell last year and was hospitalized for 6 months, if you see someone in a walker, why would you do this? His response 'I don't know what you want me to do, buy you a drink?'. Not only was their overall service awful and food barely edible, this is one of the most unaccommodating, disrespectful, and genuinely unsafe establishments I've ever been to.

Tried Lulu for the first time on Saturday. Excellent experience…read more It was right before the staff showed up for dinner service, so only a couple of tables were occupied. The menu is simple, but covers everything we love. Server came by with warm, fresh, fluffy seasoned pita and a dish of seasoned olive oil. Great start. Started with Cheese Borek and Fried Liver cubes -- The Borek was the best we have had and we order that anytime we dine Mediterrean. The 4 Borek were fat, fried to perfection, and their filling of Feta and spinach was hot, melty and super tasty. We love love Fried Liver, and Lulu does it to perfection. The portion was huge, and dressed with red onion and lemon juice, it sang. We decided to split an order of Manti, those delightful tiny lamb dumplings tossed with burnt butter and garlic yogurt -- holy holy. We ran some liver around that sauce, and were glad we saved some of the bread to sop everything up. So good. Ordered the Kunefe, as we always do. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the table -- so if you are thinking about it, order it before they take your dinner plates away. The Kunefe was good. We think they forgot to add to the syrup it comes in -- but maybe that's the way they do it. It won't disappoint, but I missed that rosewater sugar syrup we are used to. Different places, different recipes. In all, Lulu did not disappoint and we look forward to visiting again. Go, go go. And tip your servers well.
