Growing up in our hometown, my family ate Hainan chicken rice quite frequently. It was the best! Having been craving this, I finally decided to go to Cluck2Go since I had been there a couple of times. I thought the food was really good. I got there before noon on a Sunday, and there were only about 3 diners. Plenty of street parking is available right outside at this time. As I walked in, the young woman greeted me and asked whether I was ordering to go or eating in. For the very first time, I decided to dine in. As I sat down, she promptly handed me the menu and served a cup of water. After taking my order, she quickly returned with a cup of chicken broth. That was a little odd as my order had not even come out yet. Around 5 minutes later, my food arrived, but by that time the broth was already lukewarm. Since I don't like eating chicken breasts, I ordered the dark meat only. My plate comes with Singaporean style poached chicken, chicken broth infused rice, pickled veggies, and two kinds of sauces. The green one is ginger scallion, definitely my favorite. The red one is ginger chili sauce and mildly spicy. The boneless chicken pieces are served with the skin on. They are extremely tender and moist. The aromatic rice is oh-so-delicious, cooked in chicken broth, ginger, and garlic. I absolutely love the ginger scallion sauce over the chicken that I requested for another one. This very small restaurant is fast food oriented. Bright orange, white paints, and giant wallpapers embellish the walls. For eating in, they serve the food on a thin paper plate and water in paper cups. They provide wooden chopsticks and flimsy plastic spoon. I do wish that they would serve my food in a more sturdy plate or container, as the thin paper plate diminishes my dining experience. Next time I will just do take-outs. The food at Cluck2Go is really good and very reasonably priced. They also give generous servings of chicken. Fast and friendly service. Staff speaks Mandarin. In addition to walk-ins, they also take orders by phone or online.

My go to place for hainan chicken. Chicken is tender and flavorful with the best scallion sauce. The rice was super savory. This place can't be beat for comforting chicken and rice. The peanuts and cucumber salad must try items.

We came on Mother's Day and ordered the Combo B, which came with chicken, rice, peanuts, bone broth, and green beans. We added an order of honey wings for our party of 6. Everything was delicious. The tender, juicy chicken came with ginger scallion oil and sweet chilli sauce. We loved the bone broth. It was yummy without any MSG! We had a person with a peanut allergy in our group and the waiter was very informative about the oils that were used to fry the peanuts and the green beans, which I really appreciated! Service was excellent where the waiter was so attentive and predicted our needs, even before we asked! A great dining experience! $73.75 to feed a family of 6 with enough leftovers for lunch for one person.

The menu is short, understandably built around the standout hainan chicken. Delicious food and great bang for your buck.

I love the Hainan chicken here. Chicken is always soft and juicy. I mostly order take out. Occasionally I dine in. There are options to get white or dark meat . I love to get dark meat because it is more juicy. Good portions ! Just one order and I always have leftover for another meal. Service is good and fast....nothing special. For dine in, sometimes the tables are not that clean. It may be only one server most of the time. I prefer to get take out. Street parking

There's just something so comforting about Hainan chicken. Simple but done so well here! Ordered 1 of their Hainan chicken with half white meat and half dark. We also got an order of their fried chicken. Both came with a small cabbage salad and chicken rice and a small cup of broth. What really sets this spot a part is the sauces. I love their ginger scallion that comes with the hainan chicken. This is a no frills kinda spot. Food served on a Dixie paper plate but that they lack in frills they make up for in flavor.

We went to Cluck2Go in Pasadena (right across PCC) after we went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market yesterday. We were craving the Hainan chicken. When we walked in, all the tables were taken, so we sat on the barstool where we were all facing the wall. We ordered the Combo B (serves 4-5 people), which included one whole chicken, stir-fry string beans, spicy cucumber salad, fried peanuts, chicken soup (large), and 4 chicken rice. The price has gone up to $50.75. The place looked outdated on this visit, and they should do some remodeling work because a big section of the ceiling was peeling off. Anyhow, the staff were friendly and they asked us if we wanted to change to another table because some customers had already left. They helped us move all the food to the other table. We liked their fried peanuts so much. They were very flavorful and addictive. The stir-fry string beans were also delicious. The spicy cucumber salad was a bit too spicy for me, and I wish it were fresh & crunchy. The chicken rice was dry and not soft, and not flavorful enough. The chicken meat was tender; however, some chicken meat, such as the white meat, was a bit dry. We've had better Hainan Chicken at the other place, so we were a little disappointed this time.

I did a grubhub pickup order and appreciated the package. It came in like a lunchbox along with chicken broth. The portion is so big I got to split it onto two. They had the option to have half dark and white meat which were both good. The hainan chicken was well executed, came out juicy. I just wish the rice was more flavorful as I was expecting it to also be tasty. So with every bite of the rice, I also put some broth. The green and orange sauce were both gingery with the orange sauce having a little kick of spice. I'd be happy to go again for a Hainan chicken fix. Plenty of street parking during the day.

Ive always passed by this restaurant and was curious about it. Ive also ordered multiple times through grubhub, but never dined in. Location isn't hard to find, but the name Cluck2Go was hard to see. All I saw was Hainan Chicken in big letters on the storefront and the actual name was small and on the smaller sign. Parking is street, but there is parking in the back alleyway. I parked on the street. Please read the signs because pasadena is really strict on parking enforcement. On the inside, they have a bar top with some chairs to sit and eat. They also have 3 four top tables and 2 two top tables. Its a small set up, but its pretty roomy. They have a gender neutral bathroom and a self serve water set up. It was also very clean and well kept! You order first and pay afterwards. They bring your order to you and clean up afterwards. I got their dark chicken Hainan chicken and rice. I am not a fan of the pickled veggies so I asked them to put it on the side. Im rating this experience a 4.5 because they did end up putting some veggies on my plate. I tasted the pickled vinegar in my rice and chicken. It was in a small section, so I didnt mention anything. They used regular Dixie-esque paper plates to serve our meals in. It was a very large heaping scoop of rice and they put the ginger and chilis in plastic cups with your meal. My friend said it was spicy! But it was good. Our meals also came with a cup of chicken broth, so he used that to try and calm down the spice level - didnt work. I also ordered their calming chrysanthemum tea. I wished it was colder, but they were nice enough to provide me with some ice on the side for me to add it into my cup. Dining in was nice, but trying to find parking on the street is tough.

Fried Hainan Chicken Rice. Tender chicken, nice crispy batter, very tasty even without the sweet chili sauce.

I don't typically get Hainan Chicken bc I don't like the flavor of ginger. Good thing they have a fried chicken option which is really tasty. No ginger taste on the chicken itself, the sweet chili sauce does have a light hint of ginger. Didn't need much of the sauce as the chicken itself is already really flavorful on its own. Nice crispy batter, pretty good portions. And yes, the poached chicken is pretty tender when fried as well.. The string beans were great as well with nice crispy garlic bits. Would go again!

The pastor at my church took us here to break bread as this is his top spot for Hainan chicken. I told him I really like savoy and he thinks this place is way better so here we are. The members at our church are troopers as this restaurant was 30+ min away from church and there were 11 of us. There are street parking and should be enough if people can park correctly but of course a few had to take up two spots and I ended up parking across the street. There's a sign that says one hour parking but does not pertain to Sundays...yay! The place itself is quit small but praise GOD there were no one here when we arrived so we were able to fit everyone here. Instead of being able to order at the front, the waiter made us wait so he can take our order at the table as he stated we are all sitting together. Also means we can only split two bills instead of paying individually. SMH. I was going to give them 3 stars for this but the guy more then made it up with his spectacular service. He started off with getting all of us water and then kept refilling our sauce! The store could use some remodeling as a big part of the ceiling is peeling off. On to the food. I ordered combo A as it's 1/2 chicken compared to individual order which is 1/4 chicken according to the waiter but when comparing side by side we felt the individual order is more then a 1/4 but less then 1/2. Combo A is $2 more but you get fried peanuts and spicy cucumber salad and that's why I ordered that instead but after comparing, I would def order the individual size instead to get more Hainan chicken. The chicken is comparable to savoys but their green onion sauce is out of this world!!! So good! The rice is a bit on the harder side for me but with the green sauce over it, it just made everything taste good lol. The peanuts is good but I'm not really into mala and the cucumber salad is refreshing w a spicy kick. It also comes w chicken broth which was surprisingly healthy tasting. We were expecting msg but nope just light broth. Overall: this place is a bit far from where I live but if I'm ever in the area, I wouldn't mind coming back as the price was very reasonable and service was excellent and the green sauce was so good! 3.5 stars because of the poor store condition. If they fix their ceiling this would be a solid 4 stars!

Just recently tried hainanese chicken and I've been missing out. Soo flavorful. The chicken is juicy and the rice is garlicky and gingerly. Also since it's poached chicken it's a lot more moist and healthy. Still looking for the best spot but this spot will be my reference point.

    Leo Y.

located on a main street in Pasadena with plenty of food options for the students of Pasadena Community College, this spot is definitely a new favorite of mine. The dark meat Hainan chicken was juicy and the rice was super flavorful. The portions are more than enough and it comes with a cup of house special broth. Order: dark meat Hainan chicken rice (comes with soup) comments: Parking can be a hard to find on the main street so highly recommend street parking in the neighborhood

We had to ask multiple times just to get basic things like plates and utensils, and it honestly felt like nobody was paying attention to the table. The most frustrating part happened when paying the bill. The server manually changed the receipt to add an 18% gratuity for our party of six, but never explained why. There was no disclosure anywhere on the menu or beforehand that an automatic gratuity would be added. If I hadn't asked, we probably would have just paid without noticing. What made it worse was that after already charging the 18% gratuity, the receipt still suggested additional 15%, 18%, and 20% tips. That means customers could easily end up paying 33%-48% in total tips without realizing it. I usually have no problem tipping well for good service, but this felt extremely misleading and unprofessional, especially for a casual eatery with minimal service. Decent food alone is not enough to make up for the uncomfortable experience.

The 4 Piece Indonesian Fried Chicken with rice is an absolute must. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The crust is insanely crispy, the seasoning is perfect, and the Indonesian dipping sauce ties it all together in a way that's completely unique. This alone is worth the drive. The Hawaiian plates are equally impressive. The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the beef and chicken were perfectly marinated -- sweet, savory, and deeply flavorful. Everything comes with rice and a creamy mac salad, and the Hawaiian Sun drinks (Mango Orange and Strawberry Lilikoi) are the perfect companion to wash it all down. The crispy outside was good, but the chicken itself had a slight off taste, like it didn't feel as fresh as I hoped. Not terrible, but definitely not my favorite item. Overall, Top Restaurant surprised me in a good way. The place itself is very no-frills, but the fried rice alone makes it worth coming back. I'd definitely return for that.

First time I got beef pad se ew and it was yummy. I went for early dinner on a Tuesday and the place was empty. The second time I went I got tofu pad Thai and it too was yummy. This time I went for lunch (they have great lunch specials) and the place was busy and buzzing. Note that here they put sautéed purple onions in their pad Thai. I'm used to onions on the dish being green onions. I happen to hate onions so it was a bummer, but I just picked them out and it was fine. Both times I got Thai iced tea, I'm lactose intolerant so can't usually have it. They have oat milk to substitute for the milk. There's a small parking lot with a couple of designated spots and you can enter through the back. There is also street parking nearby.

Shame on me for missing out on their delicious food for sixteen years. I seem to recall back then it was more Thai fusion than it is now. But I have consumed a lot of beer, wine, cocktails in the interim so my brain could be foggy on that account. Nevertheless the food we ate was fantastic. I would love to get bottles of their sauces to cook with at home. The summer wraps are largely lettuce and Thai mint - I prefer having a bit more carrot and cuke in them, but I'm not the boss. The spinach peanut with tofu had epic spinach and tasty tofu. The Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew was nice and crisp. I guess there is parking in the lot in the back of the store. Seems to be marked for specific stores. I wonder, does the Spa really get that busy they need that many spots? I didn't see anything reserved for Daisy patrons. But I figured most of the other businesses were not open in the evening. Anyway we didn't get a ticket or towed off the lot.

My parents have been coming here since their hey days, and I apparently came here with them as a baby. Quality and authenticity of the food here is so good. First of all, we came about 40 minutes before closing. They were about to seat us outside, but then the waiter noticed that we had two babies int he party. He was so nice. As soon as he saw that, he told the restaurant we couldn't sit outside, that we should be inside because it was cold and dark out. He earned major kudos from my mom with that thoughtful gesture. We ordered 2 orders of the hainan chicken with rice, beef curry, fish with cream sauce and pasta, and duck pasta. Everything was amazing. The hainan chicken rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The chicken was tender and juicy. It was a clear favorite in the group. The beef curry was filled with umami, and the beef was braised so tender. The beef curry was my dad's and my favorite. My husband and daughters enjoyed the duck pasta the most. It had the essence of a spaghetti, which the little girls loved, but the uniqueness of duck which my husband loved. My mom really liked the fish in cream sauce. No fuss or frills, just delicious food and fast service. If I lived nearby, we'd come much more often!

The only complaint I have for Savoy is the seating but that is not enough to remove a star. I…read morerefuse to judge a place negatively simply because they are so good at what they do, they run out of seating. Parking is easy enough and plentiful if you use the neighborhood but be mindful of pedestrians. You can see school kids walking around during the weekday. The food is where this place deserves my respect. I'll have to come back to taste the rest of the menu but the three I got were delicious. Roasted Cornish Hen: crispy and savory. The meat is a little dry but it goes well with the three dipping sauces they provide as well as the moist seasoned rice that it comes with. It may be a bit dry for some people but that's the riddle of the Cornish hen, it's quite difficult to have it be moist AND crispy. Baked Escargot with Herbed Butter went very nicely with the bread it was paired with. The slight sweetness of the bread coupled with the herbaceous butter and snail made for a decadent bite every time. I'd love there to be more butter so that it doesn't run out before the bread does. Baked White Fish Filet was moist and delicate in flavor. You get a choice for the sauce: tomato, cheese, or cream. We chose cream and it worked very well. Both the cream and the fish were delicate enough but still presented their own flavors. Will definitely come back. Service is quick. You write your name and they try to seat you ASAP. DO NOT COME PARTIAL!!!!! They will not seat impartial parties during rush hour. Remember that and fact it in!
