Went this weekend and here are my thoughts - it's beautiful inside- everything you see on Instagram it what it looks like. -However it's insanely busy so make a reservation or risk standing in line for over an hour! - we made a reservation and still waited in the sun for 15 minutes to be seated - i see other reviews saying they were given a warning about being seated for only 90 minutes and while they didn't tell us this- it sure felt very rushed and felt like what someone else mentioned like "being moved like cattle." While I understand wanting to turn tables as fast as possible for more parties, this is the exact reason I would never be back. It didn't feel like true hospitality and felt very awkward how much they scanned our table in hopes we would leave or when they can grab our plates. I started to actually feel very uncomfortable and "unwanted" as silly as that sounds. Like ok you look like you are done pay and leave NEXT! Left a bad taste - we were upcharged for EVERYTHING so beware! The pastries they walk around with- charged. The birthday dessert- charged! Anything extra they asked if you wanted charged. The servers seem very good at asking you in a way that you don't realize they are upcharges. A side of sauce? CHARGED. - it is SO LOUD you can't hear the people you are with AT ALL! I couldn't even hear my server sometimes. They also sing happy birthday VERY loud often throughout the restaurant and it's just a lot. If you get overstimulated just don't come here. Yes it's pretty, but I don't think I would spend any money returning. Not sure what their other locations are like but this one just isn't it. read more

I highly recommend making reservations, as you only have 90 minutes for your visit. I went on a weekday and still had to wait because I didn't have a reservation. The decor is truly amazing, with a beautiful view of the water, and the floral arrangements are eye-catching details that draw your attention. We ordered two drinks and also tried the chilaquiles, though I didn't take a picture of them. We had the Al Pastor and the Rancheros. The sauce was fantastic, but the chilaquiles were not exactly authentic. I was expecting fresh tortillas, but they used some sort of chips instead. Despite this, the taste and portion sizes were great for sharing. I will go again during the summer maybe get a seat by the beach this time read more

I booked a reservation on open table they a had reservation at 3 pm. When we got there they should have said so but instead they set us down and rush us. The waiter said just so you guys let you know the kitchen closes at 3:15. We eat so fast and we finish our drink in heart beat! They rush us out of there!!! I have eaten at their other location at Liberty Station so wanted to try this location since we were in the area. Their food is pretty good taste wise and I like it that they have combo specials. Service was okay. Decor was really pretty inside and nice view of the bay. The only thing that turned me off was when we got one of our water, the glass was dirty with lipstick still on it. I'm not sure it was washed fully. When that happens, I am unsure of their cleanliness so will think twice of returning here. I hope that with this, they will consider really checking if dishes or glasses are clean before using it. We just asked them to replace the water and used a straw. read more

WOW! My wife and I decided to go to Cocona 35 in Coronado on a complete to celebrate our 41st Anniversary! The was a long wait for a table, but fortunately, we could eat at the bar! The bar staff was friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home. While browsing the menu, we tried the tried the margarita flights........very tasty. It was the perfect amount of food for 2. The chilequilles were fresh and delicious, the beans had an umami flavor that made them more than a side dish. The huevos rancheros was good, but over shadowed by the other items, and the sweet tamale had a slight char that perfectly complimented the sweetness. I made a reservation on Saturday for Sunday brunch for a party of 14 at noon. After calling to confirm, I was assured that our reservation was in place. However, later that day, at 4 PM, I received an email from OpenTable stating that my reservation had been canceled. I attempted to call the restaurant, but they were already closed. Determined to clarify the situation, I called again on Sunday morning at 7 AM. I was told that as long as our entire party arrived together and on time, we would be seated. Trusting their word, we arrived 10 minutes early, but to our shock, we were refused seating and placed on the waiting list instead. We spoke to a manager who assured us she would work with us to avoid the current hour-long wait. Despite these reassurances, we waited for nearly 50 minutes, repeatedly checking in, but still no table was made available. In the end, our party of 11 was left feeling completely disregarded. This experience was unprofessional, inconsiderate, and an incredible waste of our time. Making and confirming a reservation should ensure a smooth experience, not result in frustration and mismanagement. I cannot recommend Cocina 35 after this disappointing and poorly handled situation. I'd be careful if you are planning any kind of group celebration, they just might cancel your event last minute. read more

This place has the worst acoustics. If you like to eat brunch by yourself even when you're with company, this is a great place to go. They rush you in and out. We are in less than 20 minutes. Very very poor "dining" experience. I felt like one of the cattle they slaughtered to serve the other patrons. Then, just when you might be able to hear the words coming out of your guest's mouths are group of six employees will run over shouting and clapping and telling people to chug their shots of tequila. I love that I can taste a lot of the Guava flavor in it. I didn't order any desserts 'coz I was already satisfied with the Taste of my Guayabana drink, it's like a dessert already. TORTA AHOGANA, I had this sandwich before at their other branch, and I keep forgetting that this Sandwich is BIG! You can select what meat you want on this Sandwich, and I got the Pork. When it came, this Sandwich was Packed with Meat, Veggies, and delicious sauces, it's so good. It also came with a Teapot that contains another sauce that you're supposed to pour on top of your Sandwich, I didn't use that 'coz the Sandwich itself and everything on it is already delicious! It has a little bit of spice, but not overpowering. Even though this Sandwich is so good, I only finished Half of it 'coz this is really a big one. I packed the remaining half to go for my snack later. I tasted the food on my husband's plate, the sampler EL SINALOENSE, and it was also a good one. Among the foods in the Sampler, I love the grilled sweet corn tamale topped with sour cream, it's like a very soft sweet tamale look. My husband's Cafe de Olla was pretty good too, we always order this whenever we are in a mexican restaurant. The place is nice inside, bright, welcoming, clean, and spacious. Service is quick, our server Daisy made sure we had everything we needed. Also, they have a Pastry cart going around the restaurant, I tried one for a small fee and it's actually good too, it's called polvoron, and there's a Caramel taste on it. I ate that while waiting for our food. Also while dining we got the Beautiful Ocean View in front of us. They have Paid Parking here, it's Free for the First 2 hours, but after that, you have to pay for the parking, but on the side street of the houses the Parking is Free. read more

Within minutes, she returned and told us she could seat us at a table with a beautiful view in about 15 minutes. That gesture alone showed the kind of leadership and heart behind this establishment. It wasn't their mistake, yet they stepped in to make things right and turned what could've been a stressful moment into a memorable experience. Once we were seated, the staff continued to impress us. Our drink orders were taken promptly, and shortly after, our brunch orders were placed. The service was incredibly efficient, and what came next absolutely exceeded our expectations. The staff was lovely, however, our server did not check in on us after we got our food. A member of my party ordered a Cafe de la Olla coffee and it was not brought out by our server. We found difficulty trying to get in contact with our server so we had asked another server, Marisol. She was extremely kind and catered to our needs. There is enough staff but they are not attentive. No one came to check on us after our food arrived. They brought the check and my party still wanted dessert and they didn't acknowledge the birthday girl after we mentioned it multiple times. It was everyone's effin birthday today, why ignore our birthday girl? Overall, I enjoyed the food and the company but due to the inadequate service and time limit, I won't be patronizing this place again. I wish I could have gone before they blew up on instagram. I came here with my 2 girlfriends for my birthday brunch. It's super cute inside & I'm obsessed with the view. Reservations are a must. They do accept walk ins, but the line was crazy long. Luckily, we made reservations & got to go in right away. Service was pretty fast even during a busy lunch hour. There were so many birthdays being celebrated there. We heard "Happy Birthday" being sang at least 8 times to 8 different people. I forgot what dish mine was called, but it was basically 3 quesadillas that looked like tacos, but were not tacos. I'm definitely coming back to have it again, the sauce was amazing too. My daughter got the mini pancakes & she liked it a lot. My only complaint is I wish they had a couple more mocktails options. I wanted to get my daughter something cute & delicious, but they only had 1 option. Originally they had 2, but they recently changed the menu to just 1. It's not a big deal, but my daughter was bummed out when the cute pink drink they had advertised was not available. Other than that, I loved everything.
