I was super excited when I found this place on Instagram I love exploring new places I decided to make our reservations paid $15 per person to reserve patio seating ocean view it's fine no problem I'll pay We get there 15 minutes early "CHANNEL " the girl that checks in people Told me that I was super early to go walk around the bay and come back In 10 minutes RUDE! We again check In with "CHANNEL " It's now 9:00 am our reservation time We waited 15 minutes for CHANNEL to seat us When she finally does she put us in the back towards the kitchen area Bar side of the Restaurant Now keep in mind I paid $15 per person reservation and I specifically mentioned on my reservation Please Ocean View seating Patio So I ask CHANNEL excuse me I requested view seating on my reservation and I paid $15 per person why am I being seated here in the back? Her answer was We are completely booked all tables are reserved we do t have any more she replied to me However I saw plenty of empty tables patio seating ocean view I requested to speak to the manager Very nicely I explained the situation to the manager She told CHANNEL to give us a table with ocean view FYI I was not the only one complaining about their seating and reservations Apparently CHANNEL pissed other customers as well So we order our food El Patron breakfast And Chilaquiles And our Lattes To be honest food Sucked It's not that Authentic Mexican chilaquiles Food was cold and no flavor I did enjoy the Latte I hate to say this but I would not recommend this place to eat It started off Bad and it ended Bad with Service and Food Ambiance is nice but that's about it CHANNEL Needs to get some Customers Service Lessons If she's having a bad Morning Go Home Girl!! Will not be returning back And will not recommend Food and Service Sucks!!

Love this location. It has great views to really soak up the San Diego experience. For food we ordered the "Make your own chilaquiles". The tomate red sauce was recommended. It had good flavor. The chilaquiles have a good crunch which I always look for. My son got the kids mini pancakes that comes with eggs and fruit. We added a side of bacon. They have a cart with conchas and abuelita chocolate that you can order before, during, or after your meal. The abuelita chocolate is soooo good. We got a side of frijoles puercos (which have a nice spicy kick) and a sweet tamale. For drinks we ordered the cafe de la olla latte and the horchata which were both very good. First time at Coronado location. We walked in on Monday of Memorial Day weekend. We waited in line about and hour. We thought it might not be too crazy but it was! Make reservations online. We only decided to wait in like because we had 0 plans for the day and traded off being in line. This location is very spacious, with an ocean/skyline view. They also have outdoor seating as well as bar area (which you need your id for). We all ordered chilaquiles, they hit as they usually do. Another reason we decided to wait in line is because we already know what to expect of the food, the food is worth the wait. Aesthetically pleasing as the other brunch spots but this one takes the lead with the views.

Definitely will return here. Had Cocina 35 this past weekend for first time. Good food (way more than expected), drinks were spot on and the service was on top of it. Very nice to look out your window and see the bay, as well.

This is a different kind of review! My Lulu and I walked Coronado early this NASCAR morning. There was a gentleman that worked here at Cocina 35 wearing a pink NASCAR shirt, putting up flags outside getting ready for the arrivals from the Coronado Ferry. This nice gentleman with the pink NASCAR shirt which I wish I would have taken a picture of him, totally catered to my doggy to get a drink. He was telling me it's fresh water (obviously he gets that concept) and everything about this interaction with him really showed what kind of place this restaurant is at the the Coronado Ferry Landing! I didn't ask this guy for anything! He was just a super awesome nice guy that does way more than his job! I truly hope this review reaches him! Came here for brunch with my friends after making a reservation in advance (fyi they won't seat you unless everyone from your party is present). We wanted to go to this particular location since it's right by the water. Inside was really aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom was a vibe too; it kind of reminded me of a bathroom at a club, but daytime and family-friendly. Food: I ordered the Los Rancheros chilaquiles with sunny-side-up eggs since I had read about the chilaquiles online. Another friend ordered the flautas, which she liked. I thought the food was pretty good but wow was it expensive. My dish was $24; sure the portion was large but that's a pretty expensive dish for chilaquiles! My other friends ordered drinks too (Arroz con leche, Moliendo Cafe, Spritzer rosado). I tried all of them, and I thought the spritzer was the best by far; I enjoy drinks on the sweeter side. Service: Started off strong, but it really died by the end. No one checked on us at all after we received our food. 3 people ordered drinks, and 3 people only had water; they only brought out 3 glasses of water, so those with drinks only had their alcohol to sip on, which was strange. When I asked for a refill of my water, they only refilled my glass and ignored the other 2 empty glasses. Seemed very literal. Is this normal for this restaurant? By the end, I had to wave to get someone's attention for boxes and the check. It was a bit frustrating. Parking: Can be a bit tough during peak times, but there is a parking lot in the back. Overall, the food was pretty good, the drinks were ok, the prices weren't great, and the service was worse. Pros and cons all around, so it gets an average rating. San Diego's brunch competition is fierce, and unfortunately, this is not at the top of my list.

We walked by this place one night and when we saw the inside, we knew we had to try it out. The atmosphere in here is great! Multiple people came to celebrate their birthdays and got some classic Latin-American hospitality and celebration. We ordered some chilaquiles as those are some of our favorite Mexican breakfasts. The pictures on the menu do not lie. These dishes are HUGE!!! The horchata wasn't the best I've had; it didn't really taste like horchata (it was kinda carmelly?). The servers were super great. Careful with the carts walking around, though. The cart items cost money. Also we got a complementary tamarind candy at the end!

Great food and an amazing view. The chilaquiles will always be my go to. Every single dish that I've tried has been so good. Does the price add up quick? Yes but a nice brunch every once in a while doesn't hurt. The drinks will always keep me coming back. The ladies are always nice to us and we've never had a issue with service. The place is decorated so beautifully it really helps with pictures.

Made a reservation for my sisters birthday and we absolutely loved it!! The food is delicious though I will recommend putting a little more sauce in their chilaquiles and the cafe de olla we ordered was pretty dark roast so if you don't like your coffee strong with some bitterness I'd skip it or just stick to the latte version and add as much piloncillo as you'd like as it's on the table. SERVICE: incredibly friendly and true example of what warm hospitality is! Every person we encountered welcomed us in. I wish I remembered the host! She went over the menu with us and was so sweet! Shout out to Diego the bartender to our personal waitress Karina, Emely, Marisol ... gracias familia! Honestly we found a staple to come to when we visit San Diego! So much love to you all and this establishment from SF! Also love that the bathroom was so clean and the availability of mouthwash was amazing. It's the thought into the details! The ambience is perfect to celebrate any special occasion. And the staff does make it special if you let them know you're celebrating a bday in your group. Food is good too. We tried the chicken options from the menu and it was delicious. Pancakes were good too, but they can mention that they are going to serve it with caramel sauce drizzled on it, which made it extra sweet. And the French toast was quite okayish. The way they have displayed their plate for the guests to understand what they will be served is an intelligent way to explain. We went for the brunch in a weekday and the server told us we have 90 mins on the table, which made sense considering the queue outside. The wait time is not much, the queue moves quickly. You can try this trending brunch place if you're around. Highly recommended. read more

If you're about service unfortunately it's mediocre and even if they forget to bring you something and you let them know they don't apologize and say "why didn't you bring it up sooner" hmm I was in the ladies room. I had reservations for sunday 03/15 at 11am and yesterday morning i received a call from someone in the restaurant letting me know my reservation had to be cancelled because they were going to be closed due to a "gas leak". I coincidentally went to walk around coronado island and to my surprise the restaurant is OPEN & FULL of people with and without reservations! ‍ smh read more

The food was really presentable , and super good , we got our drinks super fast and we did not wait long at all . they were really checking up on us , customer service was good which i was surprised because a lot of reviews say that it's bad and a lot of bad comments , but my experience was actually very nice , the view is amazing which is why i also went for because it's aesthetic , the only bad thing i'd say or not bad , but it is pricey but worth it for what you get . read more

This place is what we were missing in San Diego new vibes new views and authentic Mexican food ! Love Cocina 35! The best chilaquiles In town ! my go to is always "La Bomba" creamy habanero sauce and full of flavor! cochinita pibil is delicious Had a delicious cafe de Olla as well. Service was great and host and Waitress were very nice. Visited on a Sunday morning with reservations at 930am but arrived a little early and was sat down within 10 min. Plenty of 2 hr free parking next to restaurant or streets. read more

As always great food great experience love this place it's one of my go to when I'm in town. Told them it was my brothers birthday and they brought out a treat for him and sang for him. Don't know what the hype of this place but my experience is on the do not return list order the potato tacos food was cold seems like they have the food pre cooked and served right away beans are usually hot or at least warm these beans were cold and my potato tacos were cold as well the server was no good gave me water with no ice , maybe 2 napkins , no salsa for our food , I'm better off going to my local taco shop were the quality of food it fresh when ordered and at a cheaper cost , the agua was ok but for the cost not worth it , the only nice thing here was the view which pretty much you pay for , but for the portion and food please go to your local taco shop . read more

This is the newest location and let me tell you is amazing! The view is a 10/10 located in beautiful Coronado. We went on a Saturday morning and the wait was approximately one hour. The restaurant is super cute and has the most beautiful decor. As soon as we got sat we got waters and our server was amazing! Super friendly. We ordered 3 of the mazapán iced coffees mine with almond milk and let me tell you it was delicious. We also ordered the mimosa flight and it was amazing. We ordered the burritos for appetizer. My main dish was the Chipotle chilaquiles and it was phenomenal. My sister got the same thing and our friend got the Patron dish. For birthday we decided to do the birthday dessert that had 3 different type of desserts and a lot of the employees came over to sing happy birthday. Overall it was an amazing experience and we can't wait to be back. read more

Very unprofessional. I applied for a busser job on indeed which stated they do open interviews Monday-Friday from 1-3pm. I showed up on Tuesday at 2 and was told to come back on Wednesday. On Wednesday even though there were other people there I was told the manager didn't have time to interview me and that the busser position was not open. This experience was very disheartening for job hunting and makes me feel embarrassed. read more

I came here after the ferry ride to Coronado Island. There's a line for walk-ins and check-ins, but you're welcome to sit at the bar as long as you're 21+. I was able to be sat at the bar immediately, and was greeted right after. I ordered the guayaba nice and burritos de muchacha. Both were very filling, and came to a total of around $32. There's also a wall that's just all window, so you have a nice view of the SD skyline. Service was good, just wished they refilled my water frequently, but they are busy making bar drinks and all that. Overall, definitely a good place to stop by. And as a plus, it's close to the smaller beach, a good 30 minute walk to downtown Coronado and central beach, and very close to a lot of shops. read more

First time, and let me tell you did not disappoint me at all whatsoever celebrated my birthday with the family. The ambience was amazing. Scenery was great overlooking San Diego Bay. I cannot believe it's 3 starts. This place is fantastic the food and drinks are phenomenal. The interior is stunning. It gets crowded and most likely if you are more than 2 you will have to be part of the lane. That is the only reason because I imagine they got lower raining. I will recommend to put more Amelia's and offer water for the people who wait on lane. I will definitely come back! read more

We had a reservation at Cocina 35 on a Saturday, but it still took a while to get seated since they were very busy. Once inside, the waiter gave us a rundown of their menu, which is about 80% chilaquiles with limited options for those looking for low-carb meals or smaller portions. The agua fresca was refreshing and really good. The machaca burritos were okay, nothing special. Two of my friends ordered French toast, but it had an off taste--possibly cooked in old oil. The restaurant was quite loud, and while the service was fine, it wasn't particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was just okay, and I'm not sure if I'd return. read more

2 star review for terrible and slow service. The chilaquiles were cold the beans. The coffee is no longer authentic now they use self serve coffees called Motto. Then it took 15min to give me my bill and to go boxes. Very upset because I have law school classes to attend. It's ridiculous I ask for bill at 9am and left at 9:16am. I do not appreciate the service and quality of food for the price they charge. It was appreciated the server had nerve to say "I thought you were s tourist with nothing else to do because that's how it is here." Very disappointed with this location. read more

The place is beautiful and the view is amazing. The food is greasy and tasteless. The service is good although they are in a hurry for you to leave because they have other people waiting for the table. Although there is a patio with multiple tables that they don't open for service. read more

Went to celebrate my birthday for brunch w/a large party & did NOt disappoint!!! Everything was exceptional!!! The ambience, the location/view, all the food & drinks AMAZING!!! I would recommend if you're looking for cute pics, drinks & amazing food!! Check this place out, won't be disappointed!! Their chiliquiles are *chefs kiss* their French toast, omg, just talking about it makes me want to go back!!! We tried the sampler plate which is highly recommended!!! A lil of everything I'd you can't decide, but also big enough to share!! Their aqua Fresca flight was soooo delicious, but their iced cafe de olla was one of the BEST coffees I've had!!! No complaints!! Also, fair prices for what you're getting! I'm glad I was recommended this place!! It's hard to find a cute place that also has GOOD food!! Definitely recommend to make a reservation tho! Especially if you have e a large party, this is a popular place & I can definitely see why!!! read more

Again not the normal for this establishment, but still very blah and disappointing. For how expensive things are I would not eat here again. Normally we would visit numerous times in during or time here.

You can check out my 2 menu pics for the thematic food and drinks that are available. We started with the Volcano Fries. This dish starts with your basic fries, and goes up from there. As you can see from my pic, there are plenty of seasonings on the fries. But it's ALL about their sauces: Sriracha Aioli and Hot Honey.
