Decided to drop by and try Coconut Thai on a whim, since it was on my bookmarked list and there were so many rave reviews. Was craving some curry, so that's what I got. I got the Panang Curry with beef. The restaurant looked smaller in real life, but there's enough seating. The food was good and tastes like all other Thai restaurants, but I felt it was a bit more pricey than other Thai restaurants in the area. And maybe a tad on the sweeter side? I did like that there was a good actual meat to soup ratio-usually there's curry but hardly any meat in it. I would come back now and then and try other dishes. I really didn't want to write this review but I feel I should, just so someone else doesn't go through what I've been feeling. I placed a large Togo order intending to have leftovers for a few days. I ordered the chicken pineapple fried rice, honey cashew nut chicken, and chicken pad Thai. I had a little or each the first night. The pad Thai tasted weird to, overly sweet. The honey nut chicken looked so good, but the chicken which is breaded tasted as if it was fried in old oil. The fried rice tasted fine. A few hours later it hit me, I had stomach issues all night. I blew it off as not food related and tried to have a small amount of the honey chicken & pad Thai again the next evening. Again the honey nut chicken tasted like old oil and the pad Thai was so sweet and off. I even tried to add soy sauce to help and it didn't. Couldn't even take more than 2 bites of each and then decided to just toss it and everything that was left. So all I had left now was the fried rice and there was minimal chicken to begin with in it so figured it was safe. Had it last night and spent all morning with stomach issues again!! Tossed the remaining amount. Obviously something was wrong/off with my food. Which is disappointing because I spent almost $50! As much as I want to support businesses with take out orders, I will be more picky and stick to one that are busier and maybe go through their products/ingredients quicker. This place has lots of flavor. I got the chicken red currie, beef with beans, pak e mao, and thai iced tea. All entress have tons of flavor makes your mouth want more. The thai tea is so so. Cost is high for thai restaurant in that area. The only thing i didn't like is portion size. For the amount of money you pay for food you should get bigger portions. read more

Went here with co-workers for a holiday lunch. People at work raved about this so I had high expectations. I had a lunch combo with pad Thai and curry. It was great! Pros: the interior is really nice, a mix of Thai and modern design. Lunch prices were great, good portion size not great. Its a small place, we had a 10 min wait time on a saturday night which is not terrible. The service was good and the food was very good. We had the crispy coco tofu appetizer that was delecious. We got pad kee mao which was just perfect. The basil fried rice was ok, i have had better ones. We got an order of the lord noodle which had a lot of sauce and tasted a little sour. This place is amazing! So far I've gone only a couple of times, but I'm blown away every time. It tends to be busy inside so you may need to wait, but man is it worth it! When it comes to dessert the coconut cupcake is by far one of my favorite desserts. One day I stopped in after a workout before heading to work. I had 25-30 minutes. I got sat down at the bar seats right away, and let them know. The lady was very accommodating and kind. They had my Chicken Phanaeng curry out in less than 5 minutes! This is a small and quaint little place on front street in Issaquah . I usually have Thai food at baitong but decided to give this a chance after reading all the positive reviews. The food is outstanding and service is prompt and efficient. We went around 7:30 and there were a few tables available - we were seated immediately. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. We ordered the panang curry with tofu which was amazing but the portion quantity was less than that of baitong. However, the taste was simply phenomenal. The one served at baitong is more liquid with coconut milk. Here , the gravy of the panang curry is thicker with a lot of vegetables. I actually liked the taste here better. Wish the quantity was a bit more. The coco tofu ( appetizer - 6 pieces), basil eggplant and the spicy beans were also very tasty. The quantities for both the basil eggplant and spicy green beans was generous. The fresh garden roll was amazing - I liked this better than baitong as the one served here had a slight crunch to it ( they put a small wanton strip inside the garden roll). However, the peanut sauce was a bit cold and not warmed up ( as they do in baitong ) . All main entrees come with jasmine rice ( unlike baitong which charges a bit extra for rice ) The coconut cup cake was good as well. The plates were very small and utensils were not very convenient. They did not change plates after serving appetizers and need to give bigger plates for the main dishes. I will be surely back here again . While baitong is fine dining , this one is just perfect and hits the mark for decent, no fuss Thai food ( very accommodative to requests for vegetarians ). People kept on coming ( mostly Indians and a few Americans ) which indicates that the food is good. The ambience was decent . Cutlery needs improvement. service and food was excellent. read more

Tried out the chicken Pad Thai, asked for 4 star- absolutely no heat at all, with 3 little pieces of chicken. Additionally, pad Thai was not served with lime on the side. Also ordered crispy garlic chicken- with barely any chicken at all. I counted 5 small pieces of chicken to 6 pieces of brocolli and 6 pieces of squash. Lastly, had the Bangkok chicken Noodle Soup- it was decent with smooth tangy flavors - but not something I would return for. Truly delicious food: in the ten times I have eaten there I have not had one dish that was not sublime. The space is small, but cozy and well decorated. The staff are attentive, friendly and accommodating. The one downside is that the portions are very small (half the size of noodle boat) and consequently you should plan on more entrees than people if you don't want to walk away still hungry, at least for takeout. read more

We came here after Issaquah Salmon Day. Instead of taking the expensive and unhealthy street vendor food, we found Coconut Thai with good review in Yelp. We were glad we did that. This is a small restaurant but cozy, clean and comfortable. The servers were polite and helpful. The food were amazingly great. We ordered chicken and lame satay, crispy supreme with chicken and beef noodle with peanut sauce. They were delicious. We definitely will come back to try others. read more

Great thai food and the service was outstanding. My husband is on a restricted diet after surgery. The waitress worked with us to find items he could eat. The shrimp pad thai and shrimp pad see eiw were both spiced well and fresh. My husband loved the shrimp was missing the tail, I'm ok either way. Usually it's left on for flavor but he hates trying to remove it. Over all a great experience, we will be back. read more

Excellent Thai food! Stopped here for lunch with some co-workers and the food and service could not have been better. Great prices on lunch specials. Plenty of options for my friend that's vegan. It's on Front Street, which can be a pain for street parking, but this place has its own lot with plenty of parking spaces available. I'll definitely be back. read more

I am visiting from Austin, TX, and was delighted to know that though vegan options are not identified on the menu, Coconut Thai does have a good selection to choose from, and our server was very helpful. I decided on fresh spring rolls and pad see ew with a mixture of vegetables and was very pleased with the flavor, the flat rice noodles, the abundance of fresh, crispy veggies and the fact that the stir-fry dish was not oily. The staff here is super friendly, especially Amanda! She treats us as if we're her family. We have a four year old and they always treat her as if she's a princess. To top it off, the food is awesome. They made sure that we knew all the dishes can be customized if you're vegetarian. The wait time is hot and cold though. I totally don't understand. At times, we'll have to wait 30-40 minutes but most of the time we can get a table right away. read more
