A very good smooth coffee with a soft tangy taste. Not bitter at all and has an excellent aroma. Latte is also smooth with a nutty background flavor. Stumbled upon Coffee Bodega while walking toward the Ferry Building in SF on a beautiful Friday afternoon. There was an intriguing sign on the street claiming "farm-to-table" coffee. I know the phrase in terms of food, but never associated it with coffee. I HAD to stop of course. I only drink one cup of coffee a day, with an occasional shot of espresso when the mood strikes. I'm so glad I stopped. The place is warm, welcoming, and charming. Exactly what you might picture an upscale, yet unpretentious coffee shop should be; immediately I liked the establishment. Finally, I tasted the coffee and thought it was bright and nicely balanced. The "staff", at the time of my visit, was a dad and son duo - both very charming. I'm not in the city often, but do hope to make it a point to stop next time I'm in SF. read more

I work in the financial district and Coffee Bodega has become my favorite spot to grab a latte when I need to get away from the chaos at work. The coffee is top-quality, it's a quiet and chill space with lots of greenery, and the staff is attentive and down-to-earth. Carlos and Jared always take the time to ask how I'm doing and go out of their way to make me feel welcome regardless of how busy they are. I'm big on aesthetics and environment, and I consider myself to be a courteous person, so I really appreciate the signs posted throughout politely requesting that phone calls are kept short. I usually don't write reviews but I have to... Coffee is good but croissants are 1-2 days old at a minimum. And they charge them at regular price. The guy tried to warm it up on the microwave. I asked why and he said "to bring the butter up"? No French person would ever warm up a fresh croissant... he was basically saying "to try to revive this very old piece of pastry". I wish he had just said the croissants were old and given me the chance to choose if I still wanted them. They were super dry. They had even been refrigerated. I didn't say anything to not spook other people from the shop. Owners if you want to be a "farm to table" restaurant(whatever that means) food needs to be fresh to start with. read more

I was excited to try this coffee shop with the great reviews, but I was disappointed sadly. The service was less than ideal unfortunately. When asking about potential for a vanilla latte I was immediately told they did not make specialty drinks (totally okay, but the tone was very harsh), so then I definitely was not about to ask if there were any milk alternatives based on the last answer. We also were told to move out of the way for the next customer after we had been waiting for our drinks near the window (just not very polite service overall). The latte and pour over were good, but based on our experience with the service I probably would not rush back. Maybe an off day for the barista, but I hope the service is typically better. read more

Best coffee shop in the financial district. I am obsessed with their coffee and come here regularly (occasionally twice in a day so I might have a bit of a problem). So happy they opened up here recently because the options returning to work in the COVID-era were starting to look very bleak. First thing's first- their coffee is high quality. Menu is no frills but everything is done well. Everyone I bring here is also complimentary of their coffee. My go-to's are either a cold brew or a cappuccino, which I swear is consistently the best cappuccino I've ever had. Perfect consistency and very smooth espresso keep me coming back. The owners are chill and kind to me and they have a lot of pride in their coffee. Also the shop itself is spacious, clean and has a laid back bibe with comfortable seating available. I don't usually have time to sit and enjoy my drink, but I could see this place being nice for a meeting over coffee or killing an hour. One of the best cappuccinos in the city. Everything else is pretty amazing too. It used to be the case that you could go anywhere in SF and get an amazing cap. Not so much anymore. This coffee shop was across the street from my hotel, so after checking out I stopped by. There isn't a huge menu, which I didn't mind. If you are going to do something, concentrate on that one thing and do it right. This place does coffee right! My pour over was wonderful, I've been thinking about it since I finished it. The young man behind the counter was very helpful with our coffee questions and explained the methods he used. The *only* reason I didn't give this location 5 stars was that the customer before me (who was clearly a regular) was holding her dog and set its front paws on the counter so the young man could greet the dog. Dog paws where my food goes is no bueno. But the coffee was great! read more

One of the best cold brews I've ever had! They are super passionate about where they source their beans and you can tell they quality check consistently to ensure you are getting the perfect cup. Usually I feel the need to add a little something to cold brew, but alone it is well balanced and tasty. I get more chocolate, nuts, and spices notes to it as opposed to fruity and somewhat sour that most cold brews tend to go...It's $4 for the small size which is definitely on the higher side, but worth it for the quality and caffeine high you'll get ;) read more
