What sold me for the coffee here was no artificial sweeteners and syrups! Tried the raw cinnamon honey latte and was able to indulge guilt free. Staff was friendly and they have a cool green vibe inside. Definitely a great spot for a mid day coffee day in Fidi.

Bright, comfortable cafe with yummy empanadas that are heated up fresh. The employees there were friendly and remembered my name :) I took off a star because friends I was with had their orders mixed up, the wait time was very long, and the tablet where you're supposed to order wasn't working properly. I think it would be helpful if there were a better labeling system when it comes to the empanadas.

La Canela is a must! Not too sweet not too bold. Perfectly balanced. Great vibes, great food, and great management!

I didn't like their pourover but their organic mango latte was good. They use organic mango powder and either almond or oat milk. The latte itself tastes like dried mango blended with coffee, though the espresso flavor isn't very strong. Service left a bit of a sour note. When I asked if they had regular milk and if a drink could be made iced, the barista gave me a curt "no."

Coffee Bodega has the right idea. Their mission Statement is simply brilliant: "When organized farmers control the whole process, from growing to roasting to packaging, coffee quality is better." So it's not only delicious coffee, it is socially responsible coffee in the heart of the Financial District. If you have time to sit, do come inside. Surrounded by plants, you sip your excellent coffee in the tropics.

It feels you're in a jungle. It has couple plants that brings out the ambiance. I ordered the organic salted maple latte with oat milk and a danish. The service is good. There was only one person collecting money and making drinks. He had it under control. Come on by and enjoy. Cheers!!!

My favorite coffee spot in all of San Francisco. The coffee is delicious, with drinks like El Saladito (organic maple syrup with a touch of pink salt), La Canela (organic raw honey and cinnamon) and Manguito (a mango latte). I have tried them all and they're all fantastic. I don't know how they source their coffee, but it is delicious and unique and is the best I've tasted in the city. In addition to having the best coffee in SF, they have a great location (right above Embarcadero BART) and very friendly and kind baristas. I go out of my way to come here before work because their coffee and service put Peet's and Starbucks to shame. They also have a really nice atmosphere and friendly patrons if you want to sit here and get some work done. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

This is close to the Embarcadero MUNI station, so I stopped by for a latte when I saw their rows of empanadas that are baked-to-order. I had to get one. It came out toasty and delicious and paired with my honey cinnamon latte, it was the perfect breakfast. It might not be great to come if you're in a huge rush as there was one person working everything when I was there. I saw people working from here as well as they have a few tables for eating / working. So happy to have stumbled upon this cafe!

This place makes the BEST cup of coffee! So rich and smooth. I found it through a recommendation on NextDoor... and they did not steer me wrong! It's always a special treat. I was excited to try this coffee shop with the great reviews, but I was disappointed sadly. The service was less than ideal unfortunately. When asking about potential for a vanilla latte I was immediately told they did not make specialty drinks (totally okay, but the tone was very harsh), so then I definitely was not about to ask if there were any milk alternatives based on the last answer. We also were told to move out of the way for the next customer after we had been waiting for our drinks near the window (just not very polite service overall). The latte and pour over were good, but based on our experience with the service I probably would not rush back. Maybe an off day for the barista, but I hope the service is typically better. read more

Best coffee shop in the financial district. I am obsessed with their coffee and come here regularly (occasionally twice in a day so I might have a bit of a problem). So happy they opened up here recently because the options returning to work in the COVID-era were starting to look very bleak. First thing's first- their coffee is high quality. Menu is no frills but everything is done well. Everyone I bring here is also complimentary of their coffee. My go-to's are either a cold brew or a cappuccino, which I swear is consistently the best cappuccino I've ever had. Perfect consistency and very smooth espresso keep me coming back. The owners are chill and kind to me and they have a lot of pride in their coffee. Also the shop itself is spacious, clean and has a laid back bibe with comfortable seating available. I don't usually have time to sit and enjoy my drink, but I could see this place being nice for a meeting over coffee or killing an hour. I highly recommend everyone come here to try some great coffee! read more

The owner is in the store. I talked with him about fed, 2008, stocks, bitcoin and NC. I respect his genuine and willingness to do something good. Monday is relatively less crowded. Easy 5 stars. Really good espresso. I usually just get a latte, really consistent and well made, probably the best latte you'll get around the area. One of the best cappuccinos in the city. Everything else is pretty amazing too. It used to be the case that you could go anywhere in SF and get an amazing cap. Not so much anymore. This guy's been consistent since he opened; killer work ethic too. Don't get to go as often as I'd like, but impressed every time I do. Will come here more often. read more

Just opened up near Hyatt Regency Embarcadero where a Peetz was located pre- pandemic. Just had regular coffee and seems to be decent gourmet taste. I will have to try a few more times to getter better idea. Nice to see a vacant spot being used. read more

The single origin Costa Rican pour over is remarkable by itself as is today's barista's knowledge of the source and roasting process. What stood out for me the most was his attention to detail and forward willingness to let me know that he had made a mistake in asking me to pardon the extra wait time. Integrity in coffee beans? This coffee shop was across the street from my hotel, so after checking out I stopped by. There isn't a huge menu, which I didn't mind. If you are going to do something, concentrate on that one thing and do it right. This place does coffee right! My pour over was wonderful, I've been thinking about it since I finished it. The young man behind the counter was very helpful with our coffee questions and explained the methods he used. The *only* reason I didn't give this location 5 stars was that the customer before me (who was clearly a regular) was holding her dog and set its front paws on the counter so the young man could greet the dog. Dog paws where my food goes is no bueno. But the coffee was great! read more

One of the best cold brews I've ever had! They are super passionate about where they source their beans and you can tell they quality check consistently to ensure you are getting the perfect cup. Usually I feel the need to add a little something to cold brew, but alone it is well balanced and tasty. I get more chocolate, nuts, and spices notes to it as opposed to fruity and somewhat sour that most cold brews tend to go...It's $4 for the small size which is definitely on the higher side, but worth it for the quality and caffeine high you'll get ;) read more

I had the La Pastora pour over and it was mind blowingly good! Unfortunately my experience was ruined by lukewarm at best customer service. The man who helped me was unfriendly and when I was looking for the cream and sugar merely pointed I the direction of the coffee and was put off when I asked for half and half. read more

I GENUINELY don't know what they are? Like we're not experts at pastries compared to baristas that know their stuff -- let alone some random customer like me who doesn't know the name of EVERY pastry. Eventually, after that, I ordered the croissant and a cortado, and both tasted wonderful. The croissant was flaky and very buttery, and the cortado was a great combination to it as well. Ambiance isn't too bad -- there's small tables, but also, very spacious seating on the window side of the seating where there's a bar and more. I'll be back, but please treat your guests in a more courteous way, please -- it goes a long way.

The pastries are all flaky and crispy, and you can tell they were crafted by a true craftsman. I think what makes Juniper so special is the selection of unique flavors they have. My favorite being their award-winning Cubano croissant, their black sesame kouign amann, and their choux pastries. I do want to call out how much I appreciate the amount of savory pastries they have since I don't always want a sweet treat the moment I wake up. To note, Juniper is typically busy, but I have never waited in line for more than 10 minutes, even on weekends. They also have a lot of tables for seating, but because of the flow of people, it might be difficult to find a spot. Stop by here if you're around the area! They are also a sister shop of Saint Frank, so you can get some coffee while you're here as well.

The workers are quick and efficient and it's clear that despite having a robust menu and being quite busy they've got an excellent system going to make sure fresh pastries are coming out reasonably fast. The interior is more industrial and small and definitely more of a grab and go, or sit down for a quick few bites type of vibe. My friend and i got a few things to try, but the standouts were the mulberry danish, and the kimchi bacon Danish. All the pastries were crisp, with many buttery layers and were clearly well made but these two had the most flavor and stood out as offerings that are a bit more unique compared to other bakeries in the city. We also tried the black sesame kouign amann, which was more reminiscent of a morning bun type pastry, and the cubano and the ham and cheese croissants, which were good but just lacking a little in flavor. Overall, Juniper has excellent pastries, and I'll definitely be sure to grab a plain croissant next time to try it out as well - some pastries pack a bit more flavor than others but given how quickly the like moves I'll definitely be back again to try some of their othering offerings soon!

8/3/2025 @ 12:45 I witnessed the worker commit the most atrocious and illegal discrimination of an ADA. His behavior was that of an Ableist. When a young woman walked in with her service animal the worker behind the corner rudely yelled out "No dogs allowed" the young girl responded" its a service animal." The employee proceeds to mockingly respond with a very illegal and discriminatory statement "hahaha thats not a service dog!!! Hahaa what service could he provide hahah?". BY LAW THERE IS ONLY 1 RESPONSE TO A SERVICE ANIMAL. "What service does the animal provide". From there you may not ask anymore questions you may not inquire you may not ask for identification. She calmly proceeded to explain the service. "Its a nerve sensory/grounding dog" (100% an ada service.) The worker proceeded to laugh again and double down on his ignorance and here comes the ableism "Thats not a disability!!! Your making all of that up!" Excuse you sir! Mental disabilities are disabilities. This is disgusting behavior for an employee to display. I suggest all avoid this place. read more

Ordered 2 empanadas and a water for about $15. Place has a decent amount of seats with few if any plugs. Grabbed a seat. Took awhile for my food to be ready. First impression is the empanadas were bland. Needed a good sauce. Crust was alright. Mid bite I saw something looking at me from across the room. I think it was a roach. I got up and the told the man working. He said maybe it was a beetle, I noted that the creature had antennas. He came over to investigate and then quickly shrugged and went back to the register. Did not offer a refund or any kind of apology for there being bugs inside their business that sells food. Bugs happen, but if they are crawling around you need pest control. Either way an apology would have been nice considering how much money I spent and that I tipped. Never again. read more
