Even when it's busy, we have no problem grabbing a seat and a parking spot. Today I got the Irish Cream Latte (decaf, iced) which they have as a March special. It was smooth, creamy, and sweet. I'm not really into coffee and I enjoyed it. I also got the Truffle Tots and they were fabulously delicious. Strong truffle flavor that wasn't overwhelming, crispy crunchy texture, and melty parmesan on top. I will be coming back for those. And I just really dig the hot pink straws. read more

Greeted by cool Ian J., with bleach-blonde tipped hair and a flowy, dusky pink shirt that didn't cover his tats...he made recommendations of the weekend brisket and the iced vanilla latte (my first choice of the coffee mint julep was not available)... The Brisket Hash is only served on Sat/Sun until 3pm and consists of two sunny-side up eggs, triple fried potatoes, brisket, avocado and hollandaise sauce, $13. Potatoes were hot in temperature and nicely spiced. Eggs were more of a over medium and dressed with chives. Hollandaise was used sparingly. Brisket was a bit well-done for my taste and peppery. Iced Vanilla Latte, $5.50, perfectly sweetened and with non-fat milk and light ice was served with a beautiful smile by the barista. Plenty of outdoor seating in two areas, one sunny, one shady. Indoor seating (air con!) features small tables and single bar stools placed throughout. The bakery display looked very inviting, with huge chocolate chip cookies, matcha white chocolate chip cookies, morning buns, blueberry muffins and more. Love the compostable bowls! "Plastic" ware (forks, spoons, knives) is by Karat and made from renewable resources! Parking can be a bit challenging. I'd recommend arriving prior to 10am on a weekend, when possible. Or other film industry peeps you can find 'em. Parking is harsh this area. The spectrum of Snooty patrons to hipster writer/ stand ups would see in the cafe. Coffee Commissary is always a win. While the line can occasionally back up, they typically get your order to you fairly quickly. I really love how they have a giant dispenser for their Cold Brew ready to go (you can see the beads of condensation ensuring it's icy temp). As soon as you order, the cashier pours it for you and it's it in your hand within seconds of paying! And the coffee is good with a strong kick to wake you up. The buttered croissant was firm, flaky, and soft all at the same time. I've never had breakfast food here, but the cooks are always working the flat top and everything smells really good! Also I once saw Zac Efron here. Entertainment industry clientele with its proximity to the Studios. Plenty of seating inside and out. Have always loved Coffee Commissary and all the baristas are awesome. However, cannot believe how bad the AC is here. People are sweating while waiting in line. I can't imagine working here as an employee and putting up with this heat for hours. Lot of businesses nearby and other coffee shops in the area who don't have this problem. This place is great! Walking distance from where I'm staying and has a lot of great coffee options vs your generic Starbucks drink. First off their coffee is actually good - as someone who is a bit of a "coffee snob", I can credit coffee commissary with some of the best tasting coffee and tea. In addition their menu is ever changing and offers gluten free and healthy options. If you want to try their "best of the best" I would recommend their avocado toast or protein plate. If you're feeling more on the hearty side, can't go wrong with their brisket. The service is friendly - ambience is laid back and usually I'll sit outside to get some fresh air or read a book alone. The only "complaint" I have is that if busy it can take a while to get food and drinks so if you're in a rush, don't think it'll be done in 5. Otherwise an ace place! 9/10 read more

When food finally came at the counter, the guy working just threw two boxes on top and called our name. We asked for a bag, side of ketchup and hot sauce. The guy said they charge for hot sauce. So we pulled out our wallet and he told us we had to get back in the line of 15 PEOPLE to buy our side of hot sauce with the food. He was unconcerned. We don't mind paying but seemed ridiculous to go back into the line just to get some hot sauce & let our food get cold. Not a fan of the stingy vibe. Cute neighborhood spot. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating, including a cute alleyway, with tables and umbrellas. The salmon toast is so flavorful. The bread (batard) was crunchy and fresh and amazing. Service was great too. Everyone in my party was satisfied. I also had one of their specialty drinks, which was an iced lavender latte. I have been passing by this place for a year now and finally decided to drop in. The coffee was really yummy, I had some iced specialty drink, definitely not too sweet which I love. I also tried their burrito with steak and it was yum! It's a one person portion burrito though. The place is huge and gives off a cool coffee place hang out, people outside in the back with their dogs and people inside hanging out or on their computer. The cashier was beyond friendly, I did like the service and he was helpful and chatty which I enjoy with no line. Plus he commented on how cute my son is, who wouldn't like that?! I come here often with friends to catch up, good coffee and ambiance which we always enjoy. However recently I had a terrible experience with the cashier-- she was extremely rude and passive aggressive, talked over me and pushed me to insert my credit card when I was just wanted to clarify my order before paying. I saw several other customers also turned off by her behavior. Would love to see the customer service catch up with the coffee quality, otherwise I won't be coming here and won't recommend this place to others I know. Drip coffee is consistently good and espresso drinks here are excellent quality. The baristas, especially John, can make any drink to a very high standard. It's not often you get such good coffee and food at the same place. It feels like a local spot and is frequented by regulars which I like. Music is generally good too which is a plus. Great local spot. I enjoy their avocado toast and the oat milk lattes have always been prepared well. My only feedback would be the bathroom being a bit dirty. Otherwise, I'd like to gently push the owner to consider a heartier vegan option than just the avocado toast. I see a few reviews mentioning vegan sausage a while back. I try the 3 star places factoring that the experiences of others might be a one off. Not this place. This place has incredibly bad customer service and poor manners. I'll pay the price of overpriced coffee but I expect some quality customer service. Rude and Unprofessional, which is odd since the young female cashier this Saturday morning was pleasant. It was a good start to a car crash. First the barista, decided that I was going to take a take out cardboard cup, could be an honest mistake but his facial expressions when I ask for a coffee mug was not mistakable. The music was so loud it was clear that the intent was to drive people to the outside. The decor is nice but when you can't hear yourself think then that's a problem. Mostly., at every turn the staff seem to be bother with any comment or request. I had a party of six but never six people at one time. They all had a similar experience but at different times throughout my 60 minutes there. Sad, I try to support the small business but honestly this place doesn't care. Whoever the older male staff with dark black hair was the icing on this miserable cake, I think his story is one for the health department so I'll leave that nugget for an email to a agency to follow up on.
