I was a little disappointed about the responses from YELP. It seems like when it is a food event, people are so eager to join, but a charity event...... not so much! Thank GOD the event still got lots of participation from other media (church, word of mouth, etc). However, so far a match has not been found yet. If you are not registered as a Bone Marrow Donor, I strongly encourage you to sign up. Info can be found at http://www.marrow.org/. A simple mouth swap is all it takes. Kits can be mailed to you and mailed back. It's really easy! On to the food part. Don't be fooled by the name. This place sells more than just coffee. Food items range from breakfast to noodles to sandwiches. They even have frozen yogurt and shaved ice. A friend of mine introduced me to this place years ago. It's still standing, busy as ever on Sunday mornings. We'd joke and call it CHARLIE & THE COFFEE FACTORY. Tons of Vietnamese people around here. Just enjoying their food, taking their sweet ass time. Dining should be pure enjoyment, so make it last. Anyways, let's get straight to the point. This place has really great Banh Mi. The bread is like - WOW! Never disappointed here. We start off with the usual - one warm baguette. A plate of pâté and ham , with some shrunk pickles and mustard on the side. I just ignore both, go straight for the kill. Lavishly spreading the pâté on the baguette and then add a slice of ham. My mouth is watering, just thinking about it. A generous bite, but carefully concentrating on the roof of my mouth. Bread can be harsh sometimes. Next, comes the Steak & Eggs. I douse some of the Maggi Seasoning on the sunny side eggs, giving it that oily, soy sauce taste. The meat is tender, a tad bit fatty, but nothing that puts your teeth to work. Out comes more baguettes. I can eat their bread all day. It really puts Lee's Sandwiches to shame. My buddy Q tells me that there are better places around, but I'm so inexperienced when it comes to Little Saigon that I need all the help I can get. Lately, I started asking for half sugar in my Vietnamese coffee, which really does the trick for me. The java is really satisfying. Orangina for breakfast is always a nice change. It's like a sweet mimosa without alcohol. They recently remodeled and the place looks really proper on the inside. Pastries are now involved and the menu has been expanded. I go in myself for the first time hoping that this establishment might posses the yummy smoothies I had been craving and tirelessly searching for all that morning to no avail. As I looked more closely at their menu board I ended up seeing plenty of tasty options for smoothies. As I get closer to the lady working the front vounter I ask her what her favorite smoothie flavor is that way I can get some help making a final choice. She then quickly shoots a very rude comment at me saying "they actually don't have any of the ingredients necessary to make one for me. I then end up asking her what other items are good here however before I end up finishing my question She decides to cut me off with a bold statement that pretty much meant I wasn't welcome there and that she was refusing to sell me anything and that I should leave asap. I remember this as one of the 4 star Vietnamese coffee houses in Westminster! :) The exterior and interior of this place is decrepit and run down. Quaint, rustic French-influenced Vietnamese cafe, a local's favorite. Mom and pop cafe (three sisters actually). Recently renovated again. I've liked this place for years--they seem to be very passionate about their food and business, always willing to customize your order just the way you like it. I wanted something similar to their assiette plates (assortment of ham, salami, egg, chinese sausage, pate, mini pickles, and a splash of whole grain mustard, depending on which combo you choose), but I'm not a big fan of ham and salami with my baguettes, so I got the Opla Xiu Mai (egg and meat ball plate, comes with a baguette, $8.50) and added a side of pate ($3). Pricey, but I got what I wanted and was feeling fancy. Plus, I really like their pate there, chunky and tasty. The side order is pricier because it's a slice of 3 different kinds of pate: mushroom, cognac, and pepper. Pepper was my favorite of the three. Added an extra baguette, now a great meal for two people. Oh, and a double shot blended cappuccino ($4) to wash it all down (said I was feeling fancy!) The outdoor patio is always my favorite spot to sit, minus the cigarette smoke. Some other interesting items on their menu: steak mushroom cheese banh mi ($7.50), steak and truffle fries ($13.00), opla steak filet mignon ($11.00), cari de (goat curry, $10.00). The dishes are average and nothing really stood out to me. I usually just come here for their Charcuterie board with over easy eggs and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It is always on and off when I come here. Last time, the Pate tasted a little funky and weird. I like how it's spacious, light, and clean. There's also nice big screen TVs and an outdoor seating area. The service is always on point. The servers were always friendly and our food always came out pretty fast. I'll only come her during breakfast or when I'm craving some over easy eggs and their Charcuterie board. Food was decent, however service was horrible. I would come here every so often for the bo kho. Today the service was horrible I was sitting near the front and the lady still didn't give me my water. I asked the guy worker and he went to making other people's drinks. Asked the girl worker and she did something else. Coffee factory is a very nice and modern coffee shop! It's very well clean inside! I came here particularly for their banh bao! So my review is based off of that! Alongside the customer service! The staff in here were super friendly and helpful! We ended up order 30 banh bao's (steam buns) and they were 2$ each! This is a little pricey for the area! The steam buns usually run about 1-1.50 each. BUT I have to say they are pretty delicious! The dough is very light and fluffy to where you can eat a couple in one sitting. They also have a wide selection of teas and coffee which is really nice. they carry one of my favorites there...the republic of teas! one of the best ever! if you don't care about pricing, i would highly recommend this place but other than that there are plenty of other places in the area. read more

It was my first time here. I'd have alto say that the service was good. It's a busy place so expect a lot of background noise. Good came out fast and tasty. My bun rieu was a bit on the salty side so I asked for extra broth to dilute it. Overall it was good and I'd come back. One thing I noticed was that the men to women ratio was about 8 to 2. Not many women come here I guess. But lots of men having coffee and hanging out. read more

Came here for breakfast with the group of friends and family. More like an early lunch. Bunch of us ordered a bunch of different things and I ordered the sizzling steak. The steak was nice and juicy, medium rare, and tender. But the eggs on top were a bit rubbery. If we come back here, I don't think I'd order this again. Especially considering it was the most exp thing on the menu. Overall I would say this place is just... ok. It's a local Vietnamese place that tries to be a bit different but falls flat imho. Best banh mi in Little Saigon! My sister has me carry them on my way to San Francisco because SF doesn't make vietnamese sandwiches as good as this place. The bread is soo tasty and the texture is perfect. I usually get the shrimp cake, jambon (ham), dac biet, or chinese sausage and egg banh mi (around $3-$4). All of them are so simple but all are a must try! Their mini croissants and sinh to (smoothies) are pretty tasty too. Come here for a yummy brunch. The only thing that is bad is all the vietnamese men smoking in the front. If you want a authentic Vietnam experience though, you have to have that. read more

We both ordered the assiette anglaise which is around $9 each and comes with a baguette, pate, two sunny side eggs, ham, salami, grain mustard, and tiny pickles. We also ordered Viet iced coffee (typical Viets ha). The bread was warm and fresh, and everything tasted really good. It feels light, yet heavy when you realize you just ate a pretty huge baguette all to yourself with some liver paste and butter. This was no exception and there was barely anything to speak of. ICED COFFEE w/condensed milk -- the java was bold in typical Vietnamese coffee style but the creaminess was seriously lacking; there was a slight creaminess but the BOLD pretty tasty java dominated the drink; I prefer the more standard Vietnamese coffee with a nice balance of both Rating = B The STAFF were friendly, helpful and kind. Coffee factory is the perfect example for how I want Denny's to be. Selection is king here, with wide ranging options from bo ne and bo kho, to ham and cheese croissants and omelette. I usually take the kids here on the weekends, and our usual order consists of pho, bo kho, egg sandwich and truffle Mac and cheese. I was expecting a pretty horrible bowl of pho, but was pleasantly surprised at its decent flavors. Bo kho and banh mi is also a hit, as was the truffle Mac and cheese (kraft with truffle oil? So good!). Service is hit or miss, make sure you point out your order and it is repeated back to you to avoid confusion, as some dishes sound similar. Our favorite is the sunny-side up eggs + shaky beef + French bread. Sometimes, the shaky beef is a bit salty, but overall, the entree is very filling and tasty. Iced coffee is strong but good. We went on a weekday and it was nice and quiet vs. a Sunday where it was completely taken over by groups of loud older men meeting up with their friends sharing stories over coffee, smokes, and food. My gf heard this place was good we stopped in for breakfast. It's not just coffee and tea-- they have a decent sized food menu. We were seated with our menus. I ordered the assiete plate which is an assortment of eggs, ham, salami, pâté and tiny pickles. My gf got the croque monsieur. NBD because I enjoyed the runny yolk! The pâté was indeed good! It seemed light-- like kind of airy?... I don't know how to describe it-- it's not dense like I've had at other places, less greasy too it seems? If you are looking for a traditional Vietnamese coffee, here is the place. Why you might ask? Upon walking in, there were tons of these old Viet dudes who sit around, probably all day, and talk about random subjects. Several groups there were talking hilarious trash which was both obnoxious and amusing. Not going to lie, I chuckled a bit since I'm quite versed with the native tongue. Anyways, I ordered quad shot and the lady gave me the look as if I was asking for a death wish. She said I need chair to sit and slowly consume it. Nope, I have work to do... I took it to go. Love her facial reaction though. You would figure in this day and age, quad shot is quite normal since coffee is popular amongst all ages. Well, she was right. A Viet quad shot does pack a punch. This place was a recommendation from a friend. About once a week I get their pate sandwich with a hot Vietnamese coffee. It's like how my mom use to make it when I was younger. They make the best banh mi dac biet in town. Their baguet is toasted and everything is fresh. If you like lee's .. you need to stop eating there and go here. It costs a little more but the banh mi dac biet is well worth it. I also recommend just having the food as take out. It has an older crowd that hangs out.
