Coffee republic is a great stop before heading out to the lake/biking trails/up to Tahoe/any time, really! Their food ranges from simple (i.e. bagels--I like mine with lox, cheese, capers and onion!, yogurt parfaits, and oatmeal), to unique. They always have special breakfast burritos and sandwiches that are oh so tempting! The food is delicious and doesn't leave you feeling greasy and gross like many places!! Their coffee and teas are great, and the seating area is very inviting (they have wifi too!). They often have some kind of live music outside, and the patio is dog friendly! read more

First time here, the person helping me out was really nice guiding me through what to choose from the menu. I decided to ordered one of their regular mocha hot coffee. It was really sweet which I like. I also ordered a chicken melted mushroom sandwich which has chicken and mushroom in a cheesy Parmesan sauce with tomato and Rosemary focaccia. The sandwich tasted delicious and flavorful thanks to the nice blending of the mushroom along with the sauce and Rosemary. The only problem I had with this sandwich, it got a bit soggy but overall it's a great sandwich to try. read more

I went here for the first time the other day. I was feeling caffeine deprived so I ordered a large iced coffee drink...it was HUGE (and not overpriced!). I went with one of my friends (who loves drinking...at any given time) and he was VERY happy to see that they serve bottled beer. I also ordered a bagel (that was delicious), he ordered some sort of sandwich I believe and another friend ordered a salad. We were all very happy with our selections and the cute barista even offered us an extra cappuccino he had made. I love the atmosphere and the staff was great. This place is amazing!!! I've lived literally next door to this coffee shop for almost two years now. I've never really thought a whole lot about it, until a co-worker of mine mentioned and suggested I would try it out. I started off with their coffee, worked my way up to their teas, slowly easing into the food they make and serve. I have to say, hands down, they make the 2nd best coffee, with the 1st best coffee I've ever had was in Oregon. Their teas are simply the best, hands down, especially since I'm not a huge tea fan, they definitely made me come around a full circle. Their food, salads, sandwiches and breakfast are all amazing. I've tried out different sandwiches, salads, breakfast combinations and a couple of their deserts. I can say they've mastered their craft on all aspects of casual, quick, delicious every day destination. Their service is great. All of their staff is friendly, caring, having a great business sense and customer satisfaction conscious. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know every time. This used to be one of my favorite places. Since new ownership unfortunately it's gone really down hill. I've gone back several times to give them time to improve but it just isn't happening. The front end staff are mostly unfriendly and not helpful and this time we waited over 45 minutes for our food with about 1/3 full restaurant. They told us 30 minutes into the wait that they were out of the bagel type we ordered. Overall just unacceptable for a $40 meal at a coffee shop. Very disappointing read more

All the sandwiches were priced around $8 and the Lemon Chicken was super tasty. The side items were a bit skimpy though; for the mixed fruit, there might have been two sliced strawberries. Stopped in for some coffee + wifi and was not disappointed with either! I'm a fan of mochas, so their Mexican mocha intrigued me. After assuring me that it wasn't spicy, just spiced (I don't like spicy hot things) I decided to order one. And wow! I have the feeling it's going to ruin "regular" mochas for me! If I had one criticism it would the that the drink is a tad too sweet... but even so it's delicious! Other stuff: the music is loud. Like, really loud. If I had come here to study, or even have a conversation with a friend it would be bothersome. Their chocolate croissants are good and their hot chocolate is also very good. Prices are a bit high, but then again it's an independent coffee shop and it's in somewhat ritzy Folsom. There is plenty of parking and it also happens to be a couple doors down from a brand new doughnut shop. Also, if you have time you should check out their map that traces the history of coffee since its initial cultivation and has other coffee related facts. Great local spot in Folsom near the American River! My first visit was on a Sunday during brunch, to my surprise this was a little hot spot for the locals! Great coffee, teas, and optional entrees! There's indoor and outside patio seating, it's not table service so you'll order at the counter and your food would be delivered to the table of your choice! Since it was a busy Sunday we had to clear off our table because the staff couldn't get to it. Not your ordinary food either - interesting and tasty choices and specials shake it up each week. The wildberry coconut shake is awesome, as it the white mocha shake. Came here again, because let's be honest, they do have the best breakfast & really good coffee. Ordered the breakfast Havarti BLT (avocado, tomato, bacon, egg, dill Havarti on Parmesan sourdough) an espresso brownie & a coffee. As usual, food is DELICIOUS! I had a chance to speak to RJ, the guy with the mustache & glasses, (there are 2 guys with mustaches & glasses, he's not the new guy) and I let him know my food is always perfect and we really like coming here. Today we brought our new puppy so he could get out & socialize a bit. Had an unexpected need for a plastic bag, and a girl behind the counter gladly gave me one. I don't know her name, but when I order tea, she makes it strong, which I like. Love this place, especially the food; employees are always helpful & nice, and RJ is pretty cool:-) read more

I honestly should have written a review about this place years ago - I've been coming here since 2012. Coffee Republic is one of those complete and total gems that you don't expect to find and cannot be replicated. My first visit here was on a whim - I decided to randomly pop in on a lunch break at work. I ordered a Thai Coconut Cream iced tea and the Pesto Pizza Bagel. And from there, my life was forever changed. I loved it so much that I recommended it to all my family and friends, and now this is literally our staple spot when we want to get coffee or brunch together. It's just such an awesome ambiance out on the patio. Plus... Where else can I get a large vanilla iced coffee for only $3 bucks? Prices are good on the drinks, especially for iced drinks, however food can be a bit pricey. Bagels are a good value though - they LOAD you up on cream cheese (heck yes)! My favorite drinks/recommendations are the maple spice iced latte, peanut butter white mocha, berry mint iced tea, and thai coconut cream iced tea. Not only do I love the offerings, but I have so many amazing memories here, and I will always be a customer because of that. The patio has been home to girl's brunches with my friends, coffee dates with my mom, bagels with my little sister, and mornings with my dog. I really enjoy Coffee Repu's (I call it that because part of their sign was burned out for months) sandwiches and coffee. As others' said, it can be slow, but I'm afraid that's true even when it is empty. I don't think I have ever waited less than 15 minutes for a sandwich and coffee even if I was the only one there. But I don't mind, because it is so tasty, and the shop lends itself to hanging out. They recently redid their menu. The first time I ate lunch here, I had the pasta fagioli and a 1/2 a turkey sandwich. The soup was really good and the sandwich was OK. But the second visit was not so good. If you order the frittata, make sure to ask the day it was made. I think my frittata had been sitting around for the whole week and then some. When I got my piece on Saturday earlier this month, it was no bueno. Well, it tasted good enough while I was eating it hot because the waitress had forgotten it after everyone at my table already had their salads and sandwiches and I had reminded her. I shouldn't be too hard on her because not only was she taking orders and ringing them up, she was also delivering. About 15 minutes after I ate lunch and we returned to our conference/workshop, my stomach started to feel all rumbly and queasy...and I'll spare you the rest of the details. It depends who makes your coffee. There are a few people who know how to do it, but there are some people there who have no idea. It would be nice if it was consistent. I like the place, but the last few times I've been there its been a real disappointment. I look back at the times I visit home and I think about how close it is to my house and how i'd just as soon get starbucks. And I actually like coffee. Its a shame. Everything else about this place is great. I love it. But they need to revisit their coffee making skills. read more

The place is near to where I live and the food is good though. Music SUCKS, but that's because the younger kids who work there don't know what actual music is, and it's too loud. They have BLT's, sausage or brie sandwiches, and bagels with lox. They also sell cheap used books there which are always fun to look through. It's definitely a coffee shop that offers more than the typical Starbucks or Peet's. read more

I don't do a lot of reviews, but today's experience warranted one. I usually love Coffee Republic, but today not so much..I ordered 2 avocado toast to go, and after about 15 or 20 minutes I checked to see if it was done and I was told it will be out when it's ready. I waited a little longer until I saw someone who just came in get served, and then I asked someone else, and low and behold my avocado toast was sitting in a bag on the back counter. They were not terribly busy (the whole staff was up front at one time) and I was sitting waiting in clear view, and no one said "let me check on that for you"... and then when I got home I opened up the box and this is what I had... for such a long wait I would have expected at least avocado mash...super disappointing! read more

I was looking to buy a bag of coffee to take home but the employee did not seem to know when their coffee was roasted only that they received their coffee weekly. He also said that their coffee do not have date of roasting bean, which is why I did not end up buying a bag if I don't know how fresh they are. But I liked how truthful the employee was. Love this place. Their breakfast bistro sandwich is sooo good, the tangy bistro sauce makes it. Their iced tea is perfectly sweet and refreshing during the summer, and good lattes and tomato bisque in the winter. The interior is a nice atmosphere, with plenty of shaded outdoor seating. read more

Not pandemic friendly. I've always enjoyed coming to Coffee Republic. The staff are very nice and courteous and the vibe and food is good. The prep time for items like breakfast sandwiches is notoriously slow but I normally don't mind that because the food is very good. We came in for the first time recently since the pandemic and were appalled to see the staff not wearing masks and no attempt to maintain social distancing as the large number of people were ordering and waiting for orders in the small order/dining area. Haven't been in years and decided to go back. Breakfast buritto used to be a build your own set up (they were really good). Now they are more expensive and 100x worse than before. The food is so good that CF is an incredible restaurant on its own. I've been a happy customer of Coffee Republic regularly since 1998! That's 17 years! In my search for a great locally owned coffee spot I have found this jem. I finally noticed it on a new route to work and I am so happy I did. This spot has a large sitting area, some boutique items and a really nice patio area too. My dirty chai was one of the best in the area. The food is great! I often get their bagel and egg sandwich with spicy sausage and brie! But, I've enjoyed their quiche and pastries as well. Their desserts (i.e. red velvet cake or lemon bars) are delicious! They have an unusual menu of drinks which some can be good and some okay. Service is usually pretty good though they can get pretty busy. They have a wonderful, large outdoor patio which is great to hang out with friends after a run or bike ride! They're certainly don't mind the runners or cyclists being there (or occupying their parking lot) which is a big plus in my book! read more

If you want to sit outside and relax with some good coffee or food, the outside area here is very comfortable. I like to bring our dog with us and the place is very pet friendly.
