As a traveler I always try to avoid big coffee house chains like Starbucks so I can experience different local flavor. Nothing wrong with Starbucks but I find it nice to support some of the other local businesses. Looking for an early morning fix I happen to come across Coffee Rush on my Yelp search. From the Yelp photos there seemed to be some outdoor seating with a view of a pond. Combine that with solid reviews I decided to give Coffee Rush a try. It was only 10am but it was already too warm for a hot drink so I decided to roll with an iced mint mocha. Value and taste wise the drink was good and went well with the fresh baklava. The employees/barristas were very friendly and offered me a punch card. I informed them that I was from out of town and they expressed their gratitude for trying Coffee Rush out. Overall a great experience at Coffee Rush. Good coffee, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, free wifi, and a friendly staff made this coffee stop a nice alternative to Starbucks. I had a plan today- go to a highly rated coffee house and watch the sun rise... came across Coffee Rush and thought "Sunrise over the lake? Yes!" However, what I came to was a crapshoot. I arrived at 5:35am to what seemed promising. There was a greasy barista talking to a customer in the lobby. What I came to find later that it was a greasy barista who was smoking and drinking his own coffee but saw me park and ran inside. I got a latte with extra foam. There was no offer of for here ware (boo) and there was no latte art (double boo) and the foam was super bubbly (triple boo). My plan was to get 15 pastries to take to work. THe barista shook his head against it. They don't make themm there and they are all saran wrapped from the day before when they come in. (quadruple boo?) Greasy (who also had a ccent) took my payment (cash), gave me my change and then continued making my drink. No attempted hand washing or anything. Not even purell. I walked out to the lake to a bunch of dirty tables and left. Greasy came outside to grab his coffee and lighter because some other customers were coming. Ew to you Coffee Rush! read more

Had coffee there several times when an old friend used to study there daily... I thought the coffee was average at best. You can get a decent milk-based coffee drink anywhere and they have no clue how to make espresso (almost one one does so this is no surprise). read more

Heard pretty good things about this establishment but overall, I'm pretty disappointed. It was my first time here so I was just looking at the menu and trying to contact a friend who wanted me to grab some whole beans for them. The bald barista(I'm guessing he's the manager based on other reviews) was very rude and rushed me to order something while I was standing on the side checking out the menu. When I went up to order, I asked what he would recommend as it's my first time and when I asked for a non-sweet drink, he rudely said "just get a black coffee" After sitting here for a while, it's pretty clear that this guy doesn't care too much about the customers. I like this location as its on the lake. Good staff and great management. Everyone makes you feel like family when you are here. Some good inside and outdoor seating. The only issue that I have is a lot of people on the patio smoke so that can be an irritant if you are not okay with it. Good selection of coffee, tea, and pastries. I have frequented this place quite a few times, and its okay. The things I like about it are the late hours, "free" internet as long as you buy a drink and the indoor and outdoor seating. What I don't like is how they now regulate the internet. When you purchase a drink, they give you a reciept for only 3 hours worth of internet service. It's not that I personally need more then 3 hours of service at one time, but why regulate the Wifi? Maybe its to stop people from camping out and hogging up space or something, I'm not sure. The staff has always been nice to me, but I'm only there on average about once a month at best, and its usually to take advantage of thier late hours. read more

Let the baristas rush. We had cabin fever and needed a place with some energy. Coffee Rush was just the ticket. The drinks are good and there's lots of options. The staff is friendly and quick. People come and go, but many stay to hang out on the patio. Some are smokers. We came to use the wifi and hunker down on some projects. They'd prefer that you use cash for orders under $3.99. Wifi is doled out in 3 hour increments, by way of a unique login (one per person). The internet was like molasses at first but picked up speed once we got connected. I grew up around my hometown coffee house where I practically lived, so I was pretty stoked to find this place 2 miles from my house in AZ. I've stopped by here and there over the years, but now I come more often. I'd love to be here all of the time but alas I can't. I teach and write online and many of the times, the wifi here is so slow. I've talked to the owner and he explains that PCs with viruses pound their routers with packets and it slows everything down. He said everyone should buy MACs. This sounded odd to me, but, in his defense, every time I convince the barsita to reboot the router, it's faster for a little bit. Still not as fast as other places with similar number of customers. This is why it doesn't get 5 stars from me. I love their drinks. I get a 32oz (no idea why Joe A. said their ice teas come in only 16oz) black passion fruit tea. Totally yummy. I always buy a refill up front for when I leave. If I need a kick, I grab a large hot black and white frost, too. No idea what's in it, but it gets me flying until they close at midnight. Ah yes, they're open until midnight, and NO where (coffeehouse) else around here is open that late. They're also on a lake where ducks are known to walk under your feet and people bring their dogs. If you don't mind the smoking, sit outside. That's the best place to sit. And yes, parking is a challenge but well worth it. read more

Quaint little coffeehouse with a picturesque view of the lake in the Sprouts shopping plaza. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating here. They offer a plethora of drink options, and have quite a few sugar free flavors too for those that like flavored coffee. For milk alternatives, they offer soy milk. I had an iced strawberry mocha latte. The coffee itself was smooth, but for me the fruity, tangy flavor of the strawberry was a little weird contrasting with the slightly earthy tones of the chocolate and coffee. Hands down my favorite coffee shop, ever. I've been a regular at all three locations over the years and I still can't get enough of the atmosphere and their drinks. This particular location has a great patio on the water. There is smoking, but quite frankly (and I've never been a smoker so this isn't biased) it adds to the coffee shop environment if you ask me...Think Europe. They have a punch card system with double punch Mondays and free wifi with a purchase. Ask for the access at the register when you get your drink and it gets you 3 hours. Great caffeine free options if you don't do the extra rush. It's family owned and the brothers all work in the stores...support local business and great espresso my friends! read more

I've been here a couple of times and the one on Gilbert Rd. I thought the lay out of this one is very neat. it's right next to a lake where lots of people like to congregate, tables are provided outside. the only downside to the layout is the parking lot design. it gets cramped (see photo). i usually park outside the "cramped" area... try not to hit anything when trying to pull out of your spot. other than that i think the coffee is great!!! customer service is great and the people are friendly. good place to socialize and relax. one bad thing about their credit/debit card service is that you have to have a minimum of $3.99 in order for you to use your plastic. just keep that in mind when you want a 16oz vanilla latté. which came out to $3.62. read more

The baristas here are some of the friendliest people you'll meet and the coffee is fine. With that affirmation stated for balance, I'll now focus on the horrible WiFi. I have tried to work here on a couple occasions but am unable to get anything done as pages seem to load at dial up speed. This wouldn't be so bad if it were free, but it necessary to buy s drink to receive a log in for 2 hours of WiFi - this makes think the WiFi is something workable since you're paying for it. It's also obnoxious that they have a strict no outside food or drink policy. You're buddy gets lunch nearby and joins you on the patio as you drink your coffee - Nope, you're asked to leave (even if you buy a drink). If you can look past these things, coffee rush is great, and I say that without cynicism. As for me, I avoid it strongly unless I'm just looking for a coffee on the go. read more

I used to really like this place because it has a casual, independent vibe, plus they have later evening hours when most other coffee shops are closed. The outdoor seating is nice. One thing I really dislike however, is their "seating for customers only" policy and the way their staff chooses to enforce it. I was in the shopping center dropping my daughter off at an appointment and had a work meeting scheduled for the same time. I decided to go get a coffee while I waited/worked. I was already on the call when I arrived (directly to the patio, not going through the indoor area). I was waiting for a moment where I wouldn't have to talk for a minute so I could go inside and order. I had not even been in my chair 2 min when an employee came over and said "uhm, I don't know if you saw the sign but to use our space you have to buy a drink". First, they don't have an obvious sign posted outside, it's near the front door. Second, I understand they don't want people camping out there and holding up seats for paying customers. However in this situation there were literally dozens of open tables and only like 5 other people in the shop. It felt excessive and unwelcoming and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

As upset as i was to write this review the first time.. imagine how i feel having to write this review a SECOND time because whoever runs this yelp page asked yelp to remove my first review and yelp obliged!! I travel to this location frequently when i am working at one of my locations literally a few doors down. And the other day i was on my lunch break and it was really nice out so i just went next door to coffee rush to eat my veggie wrap. The bigger blonde girl with glasses comes out and hands me a menu and says "the boss man wants me to hand you this." I was like ok... thanks.. And she goes "no he wants me to hand this to you because you need to purchase something in order to sit here." I literally was dumbfounded. Mind you, this girl knows that i work in the plaza she sees me all the time. I don't care if she was just the messenger.. why would you want to work for an establishment like that??? I said "so i can't sit here and eat my wrap for 5 minutes?" And the answer was no i needed to get moving. I will not spend my money here and neither will my co workers after they heard how i was treated. And we spent A LOT of money here a week. It's unfortunate I've heard the owners are really cool.. wonder why they would let this guy run their business like this. Horrible business tactic. The seats were EMPTY outside too. Went here for the first time today for a study session with a couple classmates. This is my new favorite place! There is plenty of space and tables inside which is where we sat today. I noticed outside lots of tables set up and there's a beautiful view. They are reasonably priced and have a lot of flavors and options. I got a black and white cherry mocha frost and it was delicious!! It was pretty busy. There was a steady flow of customers the whole time I was there, but the employees were still very friendly and very efficient. Everything is spaced out appropriately as it should be with covid and they have markers in place to space out the line. If you need wifi they will give you a slip with login information that is good for 3 hours (I think that is totally reasonable so they don't end up with a crowd of people getting a water and hanging around all day slowing up all of the wifi). This is my new favorite place and I will be going here to study whenever I can from now on! read more

I was excited to try this place. The line was almost out the door when I arrived. I didn't wait in line long, the staff was friendly and they seemed to have a lot of regulars. I got the caramel macchiato frost, it was a little light, but I tried it anyway. There was almost no coffee in it. I guess I should have gone with my instincts and got it loaded for an extra .45cent. I can't drink coffee at 2:30pm if I want to sleep at night, so I just bought a protein bar. When I asked for the WiFi password, they said I couldn't have it because I didn't buy a drink. This has become my default coffee shop because of proximity to my home, but also the nearby artificial lake that provides an escape factor from the summer heat. For some reason, looking out over water relaxes me. I also really like the coffee and so I brought a friend here who was visiting Phoenix from California. This is when I realized that customer service at this shop was top notch. My buddy inadvertantly spilled half of his iced chai latte while struggling with the lid at the sugar/stir station. Not only did an employee jump to the situation and sponge up the mess, but found us at a table outside and brought a free replacement drink! We made a point of adding to the tip jar when we left. I love going to Coffee Rush, especially for the flavored iced tea. They have many different syrups to offer & you can mix a couple (as desired) to sweeten the tea. My favorite is the raspberry mango. Additionally, the frosts are really tasty, and it makes it that much better that all the drinks are well priced. I also like that the store is right by the lake ... I love this place and would frequent it very often a while ago. Coffee Rush is set on a lake and it is beautiful! You can sit on the patio and enjoy your coffee, talk with friends and do homework. People bring their dogs all the time. I believe it is family owned and they have another shop in Gilbert. I always get the black and white frost. It's not actually coffee, but it sure is yummy! Sip this on a warm afternoon on the patio with a friend. It is always a perfect combination. They also sell desserts such as baklava. Baklava is a pastry like dessert with a flaky crust and layers of sweetness. It pairs well with coffee. I believe pistachios are on top. Warning: don't wear your swimsuit under a cover up here. They will come out and yell at you for it and kick you out. This happened to me a while ago LOL. Not the friendliest time I had with the employees here, but generally they're nice. read more

Great little place! A hidden treasure for sure. The service is amazing! I had the house coffee in instead of my normal French roast. Not strong enough. But, it's good. Try it! i like to go here from time to time to study esepcially when the weather is nice but the customer service is horrendous. like any regular customer i paid for a drink and asked for two wifi slips, one for my laptop and one for my tablet, and i was being interrogated on the spot by an employee. he asked me why i needed two wifi slips, what i was going to do on the wifi, and how long i was intending to stay. i don't know why the f*** he would ask those things, it's not any of his business?! then he proceeded to tell me i needed to buy two drinks to get two wifi slips and by that time i was over it. tl;dr: don't waste your time here, go to starbucks. read more

This was my first time coming to this coffee shop and I asked the girl if I could have something most popular and she recommended the Guatemala latte and I also got my nephew a hot chocolate that wasn't even hot and taste like powder. I asked the girl if she could fix it and make it sweeter and she told me no that I could add some sugar over the counter so I said okay. That was really rude of her because she didn't even try to fix the issue and so my nephew wanted to changed it and I asked her if she could and she said they don't do refunds and she was going to make me a lemonade and wanted to charge me for it and I thought I was going to exchange it and my nephew had already thrown away the hot chocolate and we left without any drink after all. Today I found a seat intending to set up my things and study. I ended up leaving after 2 minutes and didn't even get a chance to order a drink. I brought my personal cup of warm lemon and honey for aid a cold. I was meeting someone to study here and about to get drinks but an employee comes to let me know outside drinks are not welcome.
