Coffee
Paula C.

I don't make the time to come here as often as I'd like. All of the staff that work here great! The baristas are very knowledgeable and they can offer you great recommendations if you're unsure of what to get. The coffee here is always strong and delicious. They offer muffins and baklava as well as coffee and tea, which are delicious. Don't forget to download the digital stamp card they offer so that you can earn your coffee rewards. This coffee shop has a gorgeous view of the lake and I occasionally sit out there to enjoy the view. The thing that separates this place from any other coffee shop is the amazing people that work here, the quality of the coffee they serve and the unbeatable views of the lake to start your day.

The Wi-Fi is awful. Not even one megabyte download. Nice place by the water, but if you're coming to work or use your laptop, find somewhere else.

Dirty chai latte

I was visiting the Phoenix area this past weekend and had a gap of time before an appointment in this area, so I decided to stop in for an afternoon pick me up. The coffee shop is spacious and relatively quiet, at least during my visit, so it would be a good spot to work remotely or read. There was one person in front of me, but for only having one barista the wait was not too long. I had read a couple reviews on their dirty chai, so while I'm a bit leery of new places for chai, I took the gamble. The barista was friendly enough and quickly made my drink. Unfortunately I could not taste the chai at all, I mean not even a little bit. The one shot of espresso completely overpowered any spice from the chai, which is a new one for me. Usually it's the chai having an off, chemical taste when it's a concentrate, but I've never not been able to taste it before. I can't vouch for any of the other drinks and it was busy as I was leaving, but I wouldn't personally return if in the area again.

The view outside. Try and beat that!

The fact that this establishment has anything below 4 stars is criminal. I love this place!!! It's in walking distance from my house so I am lucky to be able to go often. The staff is all really friendly, they will greet you as if they've known you for years. I always feel so welcome and warm here. Not to mention they have some incredible coffee and an even more incredible view. Waterfront with a fountain in beautiful AZ weather?! Sign me up! By far my favorite place to sit and study, do computer work, or generally just chill. When you check this place out (because I know you will) make sure to get the stamp cards that earn you free drinks!

32oz mint mocha frost
Lien S.

Mint mocha frost and the black & white frost are my top two drinks here! It's been a while since I've stopped in here so decided to grab a coffee on Friday after grocery shopping. There were some people seated inside doing work or studying, and others chatting and catching up. Employees here have always been friendly. Plenty of open tables still. The line wasn't long so my drink came out pretty quick. Ordered a 32oz mint mocha frost with oat milk + a shot of expresso. Yum! Perfect for a hot day

Solid coffee shop, has all the classics and necessities. I asked if they had any specials and staff needed a moment. They ended up making me a Tiramisu latte (has white chocolate, cinnamon, and tiramisu). I ended up walking along the water with it which was nice. (Go around the patio and follow the sidewalk along the water, at night was very nice.)

We got morning bun and banana bread and they were so good, not too sweet, the morning bun was so flaky and good amount of cinnamon, my husband didn't like banana at all but he turned out really liked the banana bread. I tried their pistachio cold foam latte with half sweet, and it was so good, the cold foam was light and airy, the syrup didn't overpower the taste of coffee. I usually don't drink sweet coffee, just like original hot latte, but I love pistachio so had to tried this, and it was really good. My husband got the hot latte and it was even better. They have for here cups which is something I've noticed not a lot of coffee shops around the area carry anymore so that was awesome. The Moroccan latte was a HIT. Everyone was obsessed with this one, we also added pistachio cold foam on top. For the Moroccan we asked for it to be half sweet and it was still pretty sweet so be aware that this one is for the sweet tooth. The pistachio latte was delicious as well. The lemon poppy seed matcha was really good as a matcha, meaning the matcha was delcious and easy to ddrink. Not a lot of lemon flavor in it tho but the quality was good so no complaints. Their pastry selection is lacking however, this might be because we came a little later in the day but there was not a lot of options. The lemon scone was delicous but the raspberry key lime cupcake was far too sweet. However, this was an awesome shop and I would highly recommend it.

The place was packed, and it was so heartwarming to see so many regulars greeting each other--it instantly gave the shop such a welcoming, community feel. I noticed they've been around since 1993, which is honestly so special to see. The woman at the front even joked that we're not as old as the coffee shop The menu is simple, with some really good specials. I ordered the Russian Twist latte, and wow... it was so good. I could honestly drink it every single day. The coffee was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The prices are very reasonable, the ambiance is cozy, and it's the kind of place where you can work, relax, or just sit and enjoy the vibe. The little fountain outside adds such a lovely touch too. This is definitely going to be my go-to spot whenever I have an appointment in the area.

Even though there wasn't a lot of people, the service was surprisingly slow. The staff were extremely friendly though. I ordered a Robin with Oatmilk and a fruit danish. The fruit danish was delicious and flaky, but it was way overpriced which I didn't find out until the barista was entering it into the cash register. Transparency for the cost of food items was lacking, there was no prices listed for the bakery items. The Robin with oatmilk was okay, the coffee taste itself was pretty good, but I couldn't taste any of the infused lavendar flavor at all in the drink. It tasted like it was a plain latte, not what they advertised. I don't recommend ordering this drink. Overall I personally wasn't impressed with Sagebrush, and I probably won't be coming back.
