Employee had so much attitude! Employee was Asian and was wearing glasses! Went to the store 5/23 @ 3:30pm 1) Walked in the store- no one was behind the counter for a good minute while we were inside ready to order! 2) Employee comes out- MEAN FACIAL EXPRESSION! Gave us dirty looks and didn't ask what we wanted to order but just stared at us with disgusting face! 3) Told her our order- still MEAN FACIAL EXPRESSIONS! When she was getting the ice creams, she kept slamming the ice cream doors! 4) Check out- had the audacity to ask about TIP! Like no, you don't deserve it! There was couple of customers after us and the employee was not having it! I don't usually write bad reviews, but this employee needs re-training!!! No customers should feel unwelcome to a store! Especially an Ice Cream store!

I ordered a kid's size chocolate with pretzels. It was given with the pretzels whole and on top. (See my pic). I asked the employee to please mix it in. She said "We won't mix it in for kids size. We don't do that " I said I always have gotten that size and had it mixed. She again explained they won't,and seemed adamant that she wouldn't do it. Then she said "next customer!" Weird...it was a hot and busy day...but still weird and annoying.

Karina is the new manager and a delight. She has gone over and above for my son's birthdays. They do beautiful cakes and I highly recommend this new manager and new owner. Thanks so much!

Won't allow you to try flavors... Worst service for an ice cream shop Owner trying to save money. Has nothing to do with COVID

Wasn't packed all the way. Such a ripoff

I ordered a quart size and the person didn't even fill it up. So disappointing when you pay $13 for a tub of ice cream. It's a rip off! Also, they were pretty messy in there. When they gave me the ice cream it was dripping ice cream on the sides. They didn't even bother to clean it before giving it to me. The stones they were using were not properly cleaned after they used it because there were still residue from other flavors. The ice cream is good but the service sucks, this isn't the first time I've had issues with this store. I thought it would have changed since it's been a while since my family has gone here but it seems like it hasn't. The workers just don't care, unfortunately!

I first reached out on instagram then we transitioned to the phone in order to discuss details such as flavor, colors, pricing, and the date. Service was friendly and patient as we messaged back and forth. I decided on a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling, light pink and white designs, with just my name in the center. Ruby offers delivery free of charge within an 8 mile radius of her location which was very helpful. We set a date and time. She was understanding when on the day of, we shifted to an earlier drop off and met us accordingly. Payment can be made through Zelle, Venmo, or cash upon arrival. She was kind enough to send photos of the cake and I was absolutely blown away! She totally brought my vision to life! When she dropped it in person, it looked even better with glitter on top! When we got home and tried it, I enjoyed the texture and flavor of the cake. It was soft and was the right amount of sweetness. If you're ever in need of a cake for an event, I highly recommend! :)

Very cool and hip cafe in old town Monterey. I think it is in a historic building as it totally…read morelooks like a Spanish Mission era type of building. Super open and airy, there's a separate room off to the side with some haphazardly laid out tables and seats. The main retail area is pretty busy with people lined up placing orders/waiting for an order, or people fixing up their coffee drinks. Now even though I took my goods to-go I had to go out to their patio to find a restroom. That outdoor area is totally cool, totally out in the open but you're like in a square inside a fort, surrounded by walls, so you can't see any street action. But you're totally open to roam in here from the street. Next time I'm in this area, I'm definitely gonna make time to chill on that patio. Cold Brew ($6.50/5*) Perfect to my taste, smooth and mellow on the roast. Pricey for a small cup but this is a touristy area. Banana Bread Slice ($5.25/4*) Very thick slice. Super soft yet moist in the center but firmer and more well done on the edges. Pretty dark in color, maybe some cocoa powder went in but there were also tiny hits of dark chocolate throughout. Mild natural banana flavor, wished it were stronger but that's me. Blue Corn Cookie ($5/5*) Never had a cookie like this before but I was pretty impressed. Kinda like a cornbread but made into the texture of a good cookie, so it was crisp and buttery on the bottom and moist and chewy in the center. All whilst having a pronounced corn meal flavor and texture. Major props for exposing me to something new that I enjoyed immensely. Went great with sips of black cold brew. Most other things in their pastry case seemed a tad fancier than most other regular coffee shops. I'm just glad I was able to run into and choose a more special cafe to end my beautiful trip out in the central coast.

I waited over 25 minutes for my takeout order, I would've been waiting longer if I hadn't said anything sooner. The first person I asked tried to wave me off, after I told her I waited for 25 min, she said she would ask in the back. Another few min passed and another customer told me it could be the bag that was sitting on the counter for about 15 min. I had checked the order a few times, but it had another person's receipt in front of the bag so I thought it was another person's order. It ended up being my order, they had placed the receipt behind the bag so only they could see the name. was a very annoying experience especially after waiting in line for so long. Their order system and customer service needs to be improved

It's a small shop, and since I wasn't sure yet if I wanted a pastry, I ordered a coffee first while my husband looked at the case. One of the women behind the counter told me, "Usually you order pastries first and then we get the coffee at the end." The way it was said immediately made me feel uncomfortable, like I was somehow doing something wrong. I apologized and explained we weren't from here and I wasn't even sure yet if I wanted anything else. Their tone changed after that and became much friendlier, which honestly made the interaction feel even more awkward. My husband ended up ordering pastries, including a chocolate croissant for me, and both the latte and croissant were good. Sometimes the experience matters just as much as the food. It's hard to fully enjoy a place when your first impression made you feel unwelcome. I truly wanted to love this spot because it came so highly recommended as she visited it daily, but I left feeling more embarrassed than excited to return.

I will try to come earlier and see if they have it next time! I was in the mood for savory not having eaten breakfast yet so the quiche was calling me. This was my first time here and many people ahead of me in line were ordering them. Truthfully I'm not really a quiche person but this one looked divine. Maybe because instead of a slice of quiche it was my own little quiche. It was so savory, flavorful with the perfect balance of goat cheese and tomato! (I got the goat cheese & tomato flavor obv). They also heated it up for me! It was delicious and the crust so flaky. I also got an almond croissant because I love me some almond filling. This too was delicious! It was really cool to try their style of almond croissant which is a flatter style--flaky and moist and crisp. My hubby got the apricot pastry and it was also so good! I am ready to visit here again the next time I'm in Monterey! Hopefully I can snag a table outside this time because it's such a cute outdoor space to eat after getting your pastries.
