Great place that is now open 24 jours again. Very large space for a diner and they have an elevator! Service was great. And food was delicious.

I wish I would've looked at yelp before I went in here. I don't wanna get into details, but it's really a hard pass. I will post a couple pictures of the machines that are in the lobby at the top of two flights of stairs and how they're locked up, just because it is interesting and makes me laugh. Staten Island.

This diner is absolutely gorgeous- & upon walk in we were greeted with such a nice host! We were asked if we wanted a booth or table and we could choose where we wanted to sit. The dessert cabinet on display looked absolutely amazing as well. My waitress (I don't remember her name) was such a doll. Very quick and efficient service. Our food came out in less than 10 mins. I was shocked! We ordered 2 omelets and we shared some pancakes. The food was delicous, hot, & fresh. I absolutely loved this diner. The ambience is very old school diner. I loved it. I also saw they have a huge party room/hall which was beautiful. I can't wait to come back!

Came in for the first time in years.. they had a $19.99 special going on. I got the chicken francaise with rice. It was pretty good... I enjoyed it. Others in my party had pancakes & eggs and Ruben sandwiches. It was nice that the special came with soup, a glass of wine and a dessert all included in the price. The menu was very extensive with a lot of good options. The staff were very nice. Overall a great experience.. will visit again.

Big menu for a big diner. Many great selections to challenge a hungry person when ordering. I always have a few go to cuisines that's I like to get from a diner. My main cuisine is the gyro, and this gyro did not disappoint. It's massive, fresh flavors, juicy slabs of meat that was cooked perfectly (not overcooked or dried out). What will make this gyro stand out is the Tzatziki sauce. Unfortunately, I didn't get the flavor I was looking for here. It was good, but it was on the creamier side rather than that thicker sauce. I'm not sure what went wrong, or if this is their unique sauce. So it quite didn't live up to my standards. Being that it was breakfast time, and I was very hungry I also decided to go with some chocolate chip pancakes. It's hard to mess up pancakes, but I was a little disappointed here as well. It appears that the chocolate chips were just thrown on one side of the pancake as they were cooking. I like when the chips are all over and inside the pancake. And, it wouldn't hurt to use more than just chocolate chips to give it a real chocolaty flavor. My big issue wasn't the food here, but it was the swarm of Yellow Jackets (bees) that made this experience a little uneasy. At one point there were 5 or so bees getting drunk off the syrup container from my pancakes. This place is busy, and with the nice menu items coupled with a friendly staff it makes it a good spot to grab a bite. Just know what you don't finish the bees will eat your leftovers if they don't eat you!

It's been almost 20 yrs since I've been back to Staten Island and while driving down Hylan Blvd reliving past memories I saw the Colonnade Diner and felt a strong urge to stop and see if was as good as my youthful memories. I have to say I really enjoyed my breakfast here. The coffee was hot and fresh and my mug was refilled readily. The ham and cheese omelette was loaded with chunks of ham and a thick melty slab of American cheese. The home fries were crunchy and delicious. Over all I truly enjoyed myself and can't help but say I recommend this diner.

Came here for breakfast when back in town visiting. Typical diner food. We have been coming here for over 30 years. The service has always been good. The food had always been fresh and delicious. The place has always been kept spotless. It does look very 80's but it's kept up. Every time I go back I see the same servers there from many, many years ago. That has to tell you something! They must treat their workers well. I love their breakfast and this time I had their Colonnade Omelet with a bialy and french fries. Everything was delicious. They have covered parking under the restaurant.

Dirty menu. Should be printed out and disposed of after each use for pandemic purposes.

Came here for the first time post quarantine and was pretty disappointed. Staff was friendly and visibly happy to be working which is the only reason for not giving this review only 1 star. From the second we sat down I was disgusted at the dirty menus placed in front of us. Pretty sure post pandemic dining protocol is to have printed menus that are disposed after each use. I didn't touch the menu & just had to hope that they had whatever I asked for. Aside from that, the staff were wearing their masks as chin guards. Not covering their noses or mouths at all (which defeats the point of wearing one) while being right on top of us and our food. I was highly uncomfortable the entire time. I am very aware some people dont take this virus as serious as others, but I strongly urge you not to go here if you do take corona virus seriously like I do.

You can get two dinners for a reasonable price. Food is pretty good for a diner, especially the soups. Good for your budget.

Prices are actually reasonable given the quantities provided which are at least enough for a second take home meal. My Eggplant Parm Wrap with Fries (Cole Slaw and pickles for the table) was stuffed with fresh nightshade, semi-spicy red gravy and melted mozzarella. A pile of crisp fries filled the remainder of the platter. I also grabbed a few sweet potato fries from my dining companion and they were actually better than my standards. The other half of my lunch is now sitting in the fridge awaiting consumption this evening. 90 seconds in the microwave should bring it nicely back to life. Service was prompt and friendly in this traditional food wagon. Four Herculean Stars for this Unicorn.

One of the main…read morereasons we keep coming back is because of the incredible service from Juan -- he's always smiling, helpful, and often steps in to assist tables that aren't even his. He's a true gem. Unfortunately, today's experience left a bad taste. I came in for breakfast with my daughter, and the woman who served us was incredibly rude from the start. She barely acknowledged us, didn't engage at all, and was so unpleasant that even my 10-year-old said, "Mom, she's not nice." She dropped our food on the table without a word and walked away. When I asked for butter, she looked annoyed. I later asked for the check and a to-go carton, and she rolled her eyes. That was it for me. I let the hostess know on our way out, and she simply said the server was overwhelmed. I told her Juan is busy too -- and yet he still found time to stop by, smile, and even refill my drink, which our own server never once offered to do. I'm giving this visit a 1 star because of how unwelcome we were made to feel, but I want to be clear: Juan deserves a 10. He's a perfect example of what great service should look like. The other staff could definitely learn a thing or two from him.

I will say the PANCAKES did not disappoint and lived up to all of the hype. The place is known for having a long line and a tiny surface area. I was lucky I went solo and sat at the counter. It was crowded and I visited around 2 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. It is a sheik, charming clean diner with exposed brick and old school decor. They had a vibe going on with low toned music in the background. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I ordered with the floor waitress as the kitchen staff only cooks and does not take orders directly from counter patrons. She was kind and attentive. I had their signature pancake, a side of eggs and a side of pickled daikon. Way too much food for a single person but I tried my best to eat most of it. Pancake was superb! Never had one that tasted like that. It had lemon zest on it and I think might have been made with semolina or cornmeal. It was a cross between light /fluffy and dense. Simply perfect! I must say I was completely delighted with my food. Sitting at the counter was great because you can see the food actually being prepared. My neighbors were a party of 3. They ordered several items including the pancake. They seemed to be enjoying their meals. Bathroom was single use and fairly clean. Service was great. Food was hot, delish and priced appropriately. Place was clean and a bit of a downtown-east side vibe. I would totally return here and probably ditch the line for another seat at the counter!!
