They charged me a lot for a relatively simple repair maybe I could have done myself. They pay attention to you when you are bringing something in (money) but after that they don't care. I've got some bad juju going on with my laptops but the MULTIPLE times I've gone in to the shop, this team had been very pleasant, inquisitive about the computer problems and EXTREMELY honest about pricing. Went in for the first time when the old MacBook Pro's hard drive failed without any backup; they replaced it AND saved all of my data. Unfortunately, I failed to back up before the HD crashed again 2 weeks later! Computech remained calm, replaced the HD at no charge (still covered under an included warranty) and since they had my old data from 2 weeks prior still stored in their system, they replaced my info and i didn't lose everything, only 2 weeks. HD crashed again not long after, so they replaced w/o charge (still warranty & I'd learned to back up). Logic board finally died or killed everything in that laptop. All along, Computech gang stay focused on helping get back up & running while trying to find the root of the problem. But they never complained or tried to gouge me for my many visits. This saga of bad electronic juju continues, and I have to see the guys again about my new laptop tomorrow. Also yelping "exorcist specializing in computer-hating spirits." 5 stars for Computech customer service and 4.5 stars for not figuring out why I kill laptops. read more

Fist, let me say that they could not fix my eight year old imac. The logic board was shot, so that's that. So sad. BUT, I want to say that these guys were great, they were actually encouraging me to spend LESS money than I was willing to, to investigate the problem. I went to Computech for the first time last week. I had a problem with the screen of my MBP. It took two minutes to drop my laptop, the guy knew exactly what kind of problem it was and after two days I got my MBP back. No charge since it was a known issue with Nvidia chipset. I returned to Computech today after my MBP starting making a very worrying sound - like my hard drive was about to fail. To make matters worse, I was about to go on a monthlong trip and needed help ASAP. Once again, Computech to the rescue. I dropped my Macbook Pro and dented the top, which ruined the display components even though the glass didn't break. The Apple store quoted me almost $600 for parts, labor and tax. Computech beat that by $200, which was the lowest quote I received among 4 other Apple authorized repair shops in the area. And, they seemed really professional on the phone. I paid for them to replace what was behind the glass. But they instead decided to give me a brand new clam shell half at no extra charge. So the glass, screen "guts" and metal are all brand new. Some places quoted me $800 for that. I was THRILLED. I guess I'm so used to people under-delivering, that I even bounced a little in the store. I'm definitely happy to spend a few minutes giving Computech a positive review for that! read more

I was at my wits end with my Brother MFC-8500 printer. I called the company and received the worst customer service in my life. So I called Raven. Over the phone, in 2 seconds they told me what the problem was and how to fix it. Basically, download the latest firmware for Windows 7. Wow, and just like that I could fix it myself! I think that kind of service is to be commended as they could have easily told me "bring it in" yada yada yada. I would highly recommend this company based off of their printer knowledge (my printer is about 10 years old and the guy didn't hesitate to tell me the solution) and the kind of integrity demonstrated by my phone call. read more

My 2005 eMac died Sunday night. Monitor, usb, nothing worked except it turned on, but not off! Called Computech Monday and told them my computer "had died"! I asked if I should repair or replace. The guy said "buy a new computer." I asked if he could listen to what was wrong with my computer, but he just said, "buy a new one". He wasn't very friendly and obviously not helpful. Best news is: I called another service and they said to bring it in and they would take a look. Smartest move I made, because they would charge $35 to look at it and then apply the $35 to the actual repair or a new computer. Long story short: $70 was all it cost me to fix my old eMac. My advice, don't waste your time with Computech Suupport Services, and call the other repair companies! read more

Honestly, I would give this place one star if it wasn't because Ari was patient with me when I came to turn in my computer to them & they at least did a 44% discount on the diagnostic fee when they told me what was wrong with my laptop which was exactly what I told them when I came in without any added details! Unfortunately, they did not deliver because after four full business days I did not receive a phone call or email update regarding my computer's diagnostic which they actually charge and were not even friendly about! Honestly, I don't know if perhaps my computer was a low priority to them and maybe they were just swamped with other high profile work, but communication and customer service is still very important. I would have appreciated an email update the least or being told upfront that they may be too busy to remedy the situation. Thankfully, I did receive help else where though so if you were like me frantically searching for a place that does data recovery my suggestion would be: Do your own research, get quotes, DO NOT just listen to the genius bar guys because help elsewhere DOES exist, and try to remain calm. There are places that offer a free diagnostic (all within a more reasonable time as well), better customer service, and with more affordable fees!! Anyways, here's my story if you would like to know: My MacBook Pro laptop had suffered a slight fall from my desk chair (like 3ft) thus suffered hard drive damages and was needing data recovery. Should I have been more careful and wise to not leave my laptop unattended on a chair and probably have backed up to an external drive? Yes, but accidents happen and I learned my lesson!! Anyways, this was a Friday afternoon that happened so I had time to take it to the Apple store to figure out what was going on. They recommended this place and as a frantic customer of course I wanted a technician to look at it ASAP to know whether my pictures which have huge sentimental value could be salvaged. They were closed and I came in the next day about fifteen minutes after they opened and was told they were capable to perform data recovery, but they would need 2-4 days to be able to provide me with a solid price (after the diagnostic). He did give me the rough estimate of a minimum $350 and up price range not including the $90 diagnostic fee and I am not fully sure if he said that was just the data recovery fee or if that included the replaced hard drive fee and replaced drive labor fee. Anyway, you get the idea that this is costly! I call in Wednesday evening and was answered by an unfriendly staff stating that I would receive an update as soon as Ryan looks at it and then I wait all night and morning Thursday, nothing. I do not want to be a nagging pain, but I also have other concerns that need my personal attention and one least worry would be appreciated. Thus, I called in Thursday afternoon and it sounded like they had not even looked at it because the guy just answered saying "yea, it needs data recovery", I asked for a more solid price estimation and time estimation and just received a "we will call you later to let you know." Of course, after that I had the diagnostic fee paid and my computer taken elsewhere. Good luck! read more

After posting the previous review, I was contacted by the business owner and he was VERY helpful and concerned about what I was unhappy about. A couple of messages later, he says I am able to come back with that dead battery and get another replacement cause it has a 1 year warranty (now I worry this battery is gonna die shortly after 1 year.. haha) and he even ran some diagnostic tests and some optimization for my G4 powerbook. One thing I really liked was him being able to place the I button cap back on to the keyboard and it feels/looks complete. I asked a question about the "i" button on my first visit there, and was told that they'd have to take it in, send it to Apple to get the whole keyboard replaced..so I wasn't expecting to have that fixed. I'd been having a problem where my computer (15" MacBookPro) would shut down without warning and without any reason. When I took it to an apple store they said that it needed a new logic board and that they could fix it, but since it was out of warranty it would not be cheap, plus I'd be out of a computer for a while. They gave me a paper with some Certified Apple Service Providers on it and the first one listed was Computech. They were really close so I stopped in and asked what they could do. They were super friendly and helpful, explaining everything they'd do and why, listening to my questions and actually answering them! They also would let me rent a computer, with my own hard drive in it!, while the repair was going on. Freaking sweet! Then, when it turned out to be taking longer then they thought (they got lots of bad logic boards from Apple) they kept me in the loop the whole time, and let me keep the rental for as long as it took to fix! The genius bars at apple stores are so overly crowded and you wait in their loud no-squishy-chairs-allowed store for a long time. Here? I had a horrible experience with these guys! At first, the guy seemed nice, friendly enough and pleasant, and I was actually referred to them so I thought it would be good to go to them when my hard drive crashed and I was freaking out!! When the guy called me a couple days later to let me know my data on the hard drive could not be recovered I was devastated. I was upset on the phone and instead of being nice about it the guy was a complete A**HOLE to me, being so cold, giving me attitude... it was like he was treating me like crap cuz he didn't care and didn't even TRY to fix my hard drive. The worst part is I had to give the jerk $90.00 for literally NOTHING at all!!!! I feel like he just ripped me off and didn't even look at my hard drive... especially he told me not to go to the guy that eventually ended up recovering my data!!!! What a messed-up guy and experience. The only solace I get out of it is writing this review. DEF do not go to them for data recovery!!!! I called 2 other places regarding my broken 13" Retina Macbook Pro screen before calling Computech, and both other places were more expensive, (far) less pleasant on the phone, and had significantly longer repair intervals than Computech. Computech got a replacement part delivered the next day, so I walked in the next day, waited for an hour, and the repair was completed by Dakota without issue. I have no complaints and only praise for Computech. read more

These guys are very solid and more flexible than what I've experienced from my other Apple options. I brought my MacBook to the Apple store (Promenade). The "genius" told me it needed a new display and that it would take 5+ days. I can't speak for you but I actually use this machine daily and that hurts me... I was told Apple care allows me to I bring it to an authorized repair shop so I got on the phone and called two other places asking whether they'd be willing to look at my machine, order the parts needed and let me bring it back when they're ready to work on it. Computech said they'd do it, the other 2 said they wouldn't, it'd have to sit for 3+ days. When I brought it to Computech, they did exaclty what they said they'd do, took my info, called me a few days later with parts and installed it in a few hours. And my MacBook came back to me shiny and cleaned all over at no additional charge. Next time I think I'll skip the congested parking lots at the promenade, the appointment, the wait at the genius bar and bring it to computech in the first place. read more
