I'm so excited to find a new cafe spot in Torrance. This place is so cute and quaint - perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee or catching up with a friend. I love how friendly and helpful the service is, plus all the food recommendations I had were super good! We had shakshouka breakfast (delicious eggs) , matcha and cafe latte) , and a pastry. The Russian Napoleon pastry was my absolute favorite here. I would definitely recommend and come back!!! read more

Came in for the first time today and it was great! Adis was the person who helped me and he was so kind and attentive. I told him it was my first time and asked for his recommendation. He suggested I try the Matcha Latte and I add the mango jam and it was to die for. I was waiting for a friend so after they got there we got some coffee. I got an iced latte with strawberry jam and he got a regular iced latte! We both loved them. We also shared an avocado toast later which was to die for. The owners seem so kind and I love that it's family owned. The ambience is so nice, u love that they have books for sale and they have inside and outside seating! Will definitely be coming back to try more drinks and food. read more

Finally had a chance to stop by here for on lunch to grab a coffee and some food. Very quiet at Noon on a weekday, but hopefully that's just my luck. Went with the syrniki since it was something I've never experienced, and sounds unique at least around here. Wasn't disappointed, a delicious balance of sweet and savory. Next time I'll be getting a piece of the cheesecake which looked wonderful. read more

I went here over the weekend absolutely craving avocado toast. I went to 2 other places but one was out of sourdough (wtf?? On a SUNDAY?) & the other was like $19.. so I wound up here, and thank god I did. I ordered to go, and although it took a minute (worker lmk that there was a mixup in the back but I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind). The wait was well worth it. Easily best avacado toast I've had in a while. CHEFS KISS!! 10/10 will be back!! read more

I am so glad I visited Cool Beans today. I love visiting new coffee shops, and this one did not disappoint, with unique drinks and food, lovely service, and a warm, inviting space. I ordered the syrniki, which is a fluffy, farmers cheese pancake from Kyrgyzstan, and which might just be my new favorite food! It's a perfect mix of savory and sweet. To drink I got the iced espresso tonic, which was delicious. I ordered the honey cake to go, and loved it. Not too sweet, but had a wonderful flavor. Cool Beans has a space near the front of the shop featuring books and gifts from The Fleuria, a romance book truck, (another locally-owned small-business), that often has events at the cafe. My wife and I ordered the avocado toast. It was delicious!! The salad that came with it had oil on it and nothing else. We added some salt and pepper and asked for some lemon juice, which made it palatable. The restaurant is new, the service is great, the place is very clean and reasonably priced!! Cutest little cafe. Lovely drinks, yummy food that tastes good and is healthy. My GF and I met here for breakfast- originally planning to go to the Pan next door, but they had a long wait. Super happy we came here instead. I had a Matcha Latte and the Shashuka, she had the avocado toast. Both were delicious. Excellent!! I purchased a cherry cheese danish, a blueberry muffin and I had to try the honey cake! The blueberry muffin was still warm and absolutely delicious ! The honey cake was really good it sounds super sweet but it is really perfect perfectly balanced with layers of sweet cream in the middle it's so unique and delicious. Definitely a must try. For me the star of the show was the cherry cheese danish! It was perfect and not might actually favorite dessert so this one was by far the best I've ever had! I will definitely be back as I also want to try the Shakshuka and Syrniki. There was a couple outside that tried both and i talked to them and they loved it. The strawberry Matcha was absolutely delicious I will definitely go back for that again as well ! There wasn't one thing that I didn't like! The owner is exceptionally nice and they actually have a book while where they're starting to do book events so the ambiance is also fantastic! Give it a try and support small business! Cool Beans is such a cute little addition into the long standing plaza it's located in. There seems to be a sweet sense of community already in its walls. The inside seating is cozy and super cute & there is a bookshelf with romance novels, which are delivered and set up by a traveling romance novel company. It's very cute to see :) stopped by to get a matcha latte & was very impressed with their selection & their execution. They had a hojicha latte along with the matcha & wow ! The matcha was very good & their base for their lattes is unsweetened which is refreshing to see & delicious to taste. The hojicha was really so amazing , the flavor was strong and bold. It was balanced perfectly with just the milk & ice. It has set the standard for me with trying hojicha lattes from other places. The service was very sweet & we were sold on one of their traditional meat pies. It was a little pricey for the side for it hit the spot , especially warmed up. I alternate between their Spanish latte and their mojito lemonade. They're both sooooOOoOOoOoOOoOooOOo good. I love love love love love love love bada. I'm not a fan of coffee so I'm always deciding between their mochi, fresh fruit, or iced teas etc. My go-to drinks are the Yuzu Citrus No. 8 and Jasmine Frost Iced Tea (less sweet for both options). The Yuzu Citrus has the perfect amount of tang with a slight sweetness that cuts through the acidity. The tea flavor manages to shine through the fruitiness, and overall the flavors pair well with one another. The Jasmine Frost Iced Tea is very aromatic and brewed to really highlight the Jasmine. My boyfriend normally gets the mochi mango which has soft chunks of mochi mixed, and tart/sweet mango puree. I appreciate how the smoothie is never icy, and has a creamy texture. There are plenty of seating options for people, whether it's socializing or studying. It gets pretty busy and wait-times can vary greatly; I would recommend ordering ahead of time. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The only issue I have with the spot is that the drinks do tend to be on the more expensive side, with drinks ranging from $7-9. The matcha drinks are also not the highest quality, and often the matcha tastes quite diluted. Overall a solid spot!

There were so many stores back in the day that sold them, and now I can't find them as easily. In fact, Caffe Bene is the only place in the South Bay that I know that sells them.
