Dropped in for the first time the other day shortly before closing. I had an iced Hojicha Latte (which shockingly cost $7.29, an extra $1.00 for oat milk), my hubby had the strawberry & orange lemonade (which he enjoyed) & the Medovik cake (which was DELISH!!! omg, this was really good.) I think the flavors here are spot-on. I was just disappointed at paying so much for a relatively small drink that seemed to have a lot of ice (and apparently they only have 1 size for iced drinks). My hubby does want to try the cheesecake so we'll probably return. I may opt for a hot drink then (maybe I'll get more liquid LOL). read more

Visited Cool Beans for the first time with a couple of friends and I'm so glad that I did! It's a cool little "mom and pop" gem that is tucked away in a strip mall off of Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance. It's a small cafe that offers limited indoor and outside seating. Take out is also available too. The cafe offers a variety of specialty coffees & teas, fresh pastries and a nice selection of breakfast dishes. The establishment is spotless and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. I ordered the veggie omelette with egg-whites, which was accompanied by a mixed green salad & a slice of sourdough toast. It was amazing!!! Quite flavorful and just the right portion size too! My friends ordered the avocado toast, oatmeal and we all shared the Syriniki, which is described by in the menu as "farmers cheese pancakes." They absolutely loved the avocado toast and oatmeal! With regard to the Syriniki, it was REALLY good and a must try! I would describe it as being similar to a ricotta cheese that is golden brown and served with fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream. It was clearly apparent by my experience that their delicious offerings, coupled with fantastic customer experience, truly demonstrates their pride and passion for their food and patrons. The ambience wonderful like you can snuggle up with a good book and stay there all day. 3 stars simply because the coffee was OK I've had better. Came in for the first time today and it was great! Adis was the person who helped me and he was so kind and attentive. I told him it was my first time and asked for his recommendation. He suggested I try the Matcha Latte and I add the mango jam and it was to die for. I was waiting for a friend so after they got there we got some coffee. I got an iced latte with strawberry jam and he got a regular iced latte! We both loved them. We also shared an avocado toast later which was to die for. I am so glad I visited Cool Beans today. I love visiting new coffee shops, and this one did not disappoint, with unique drinks and food, lovely service, and a warm, inviting space. I ordered the syrniki, which is a fluffy, farmers cheese pancake from Kyrgyzstan, and which might just be my new favorite food! It's a perfect mix of savory and sweet. To drink I got the iced espresso tonic, which was delicious. I ordered the honey cake to go, and loved it. Not too sweet, but had a wonderful flavor. Cool Beans has a space near the front of the shop featuring books and gifts from The Fleuria, a romance book truck, (another locally-owned small-business), that often has events at the cafe.
