About a block from the beach, we decided to eat here for dinner (5pm) on the 4th of July. Initially, we got turned away since my wife and niece didn't have shoes or sandals having come from the beach. They went back to get some sandals on and we were gonna go to Wooleys instead but there were no seats and didn't like the order first, find a table and sit yourself. We went back to Cool Cafe and we got lucky they had a table for us. Fact that it was the 4th, the place was large to accommodate. I got the Chubby checker - chicken breast cheese Mayo bacon on a sour dough. It was okay. Kinda bland for my taste and needed something to kick it up. My wife ate a portion and she had to put tobasco salt and pepper to season. 3 stars My wife got a tri tip with sweet potato fries. Their bbq sauce was good. 5 stars Niece had the fish and chips and she seemed to like it. Our server was Sam, nice guy. Attentive and friendly. 5 stars Food was okay but prices were fair. So overall that we didnt wait and the fam got their sit down meal on the 4th of July. I'll give it 5 stars

Clam chowder was very thick and had so much in it. Good and bad at the same time 3/5. Got the open faced dog with chili. This was so good! Chili was a little bit spicy for me but soooo good. 4.5/5 The ribs was decent. Cooked well. Soft. But lacked flavor in my opinion. 3/5 Fish and chips . The fries was like a 4.9 out of 5. We all loved it! Fish was 4/5. Tartar sauce was everyone's fave. Chicken with pineapple waa just okay. We would go back for the fries! Service was......................

We had the BEST dinner tonight at Cool Cat Cafe and I just have to rave about it! I ordered the mushroom burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've had in a long time -- so flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the Pony Boy (a pastrami sandwich) -- technically my husband's choice, but it ended up being my favorite! It was that good. The calamari was sooo fresh and perfectly prepared -- everything we had was insanely good. We even ordered a cup of chili and poured it over the fries... and WOW, it was definitely hitting the spot! And it didn't stop there... the real cane root beer, strawberry shake, and the POG mocktail were all SO good too! The customer service was wonderful, the ambiance was a whole vibe, and the food was incredible. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

Fun upbeat diner right on the Pismo Beach Pier and next to the Hotel we are staying at. We were seated immediately came around 3pm on a Friday afternoon. We ordered a couple drinks while waiting for our appetizers. Quick service and even better Michelada and Peach Keen. Both drinks were great tasting and hit the spot. They do not serve breakfast only lunch and dinner. If you're in the area and can find a parking spot this place is good vibes. All staff were friendly and joking around while eating. Loved this place. Definitely will return when I'm the area.

My wife and I ate here on our trip to Pismo Beach. We saw this as we were in town shopping and decided to stop. We got seated very quickly and everybody was very nice and attentive. Love the decorations inside. They also have a little gift shop that is through a connecting hallway that also has an outside door. The menu has a lot on it, and there is bar seating and I love the fresh air feel.

Amazing vegan option in Pismo! While visiting Pismo for a friend's wedding, it was a little challenging to find food I could have. However, Cool Cat Cafe had a small section of the menu featuring vegetarian selections, including the Elaine La Lanne which is a veggie burger (or beyond patty) on a ciabatta with mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, and a tropical fruit salsa. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the salsa was out of this world and pulled all the flavors together. Food came fast and was such a fun atmopshere. Great place for classic American diner food with a twist!

Cool Cat Café -- Beachside Vibes with a Flavor Kick Stopped by Cool Cat Café in Pismo Beach with friends for a casual hangout near the beach. Originally came for drinks, but we ended up ordering some snacks and they didn't disappoint. Drinks: Cold beers, served fast. Great way to unwind after a long day. Food: We tried the chips and salsa along with ceviche. Both were surprisingly good fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The ceviche had a nice citrusy punch, and the salsa had just enough kick. Service & Atmosphere: Staff were friendly and welcoming. The retro diner vibe mixed with the beachside location made for a chill, laid-back experience. Didn't dive into the full menu this time, but based on the snacks and service, I'd definitely come back to explore more.

The service from Jessica was absolutely amazing! She was kind! She was swift! Lastly was freaking awesome! I brought myself and 4 kids along and she made sure every need was met! Wish I had her service everywhere I went!

Cool Cat Cafe is definitely 5 stars. The location is perfect, right in the mix, surrounded by cool shops and a short walk to the beach. The service is spectacular, the host took us right to our table and we were ordering drinks within a minute. The drinks and appetizers were quick to appear, and then boom, our food was on the table. Quick like that. Everything tasted so good. My California Dreamin' sandwich was killer. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Everyone loved their meals. It was the perfect spot to grab lunch.

Great happy hour, the waiter had good recommendations and the tomato soup with grilled cheese special was really great. Drinks were strong and bites were fun, interior also has a nice ambience to it.

Cool cat was a very cool location with a huge menu of items to choose from. Got their Leader of the pack burger (no sauce) with added side of fries and the Marylin Burger with a side of sweet pineapple. burger and fries cravings satisfied. It's pretty lively and loud for dinner time, we got lucky and only had to wait about 15-20 minutes. This place seems good for large groups though with plenty of seating and TV monitors to enjoy games with good company.

Cool Cat Cafe says it all in the name. The atmosphere is laid back. Reminds me of an old school diner with a great vibe. They specialize in burgers, including the famous "808" for competition eaters. I had a Pismo summer day cocktail and my wife had the "Dulce De Jack" adult milkshake which she enjoyed a lot. For our meals we had the fresh fish tacos (hint: ask for the green salsa for a nice kick). The garlic aioli tasted great. We also tried the Jailhouse Rock burger with mushrooms. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We learned a bit about the 808 burger challenge and how they keep track of the winners. I had a good time while stuffing my face lol. Check it out !

The cocktails are a nice balance between alcohol snd sweet. I ended up drinking 4, and still felt great after! It felt really refreshing. We ordered 30 oysters for the table and we finished them so fast because they tasted so good! I'm a huge fan of west coast oysters because of how sweet they taste. We pretty much inhaled all 30! We shared the plates family style, and it was very tasty! I felt like all the dishes had a good balance between differently flavor profiles. It was so good that we were able to finish the whole meal! The desserts were so solid. I actually would have regretted it if we didn't finish off our meal with it. The service was good! I never have a problem with our servers whenever we visit. To start, we arrived early for our reservation. I had made a note requesting an outdoor table, and the hostess attempted to seat us inside. I politely asked for an outside table again, and she said we would have to wait 10 minutes, which was fine. We moved to the bar, ordered two glasses of wine, and before they even finished pouring our water, the table was "ready". The biggest disappointment was the limited menu availability. Four out of ten of the entrees were completely unavailable when we ordered, which severely restricted our options. Additionally, my wine bottle was served and was never chilled or offered a wine bucket, which is a miss for a premium seafood restaurant. On the positive side, the food they DID have available and we could order was all tasty and fresh. The service was okay, polite, but not particularly attentive or proactive given the pricing. Overall, you're paying for the stunning location, but the food logistics and service definitely need improvement. We still had a great time!

On top of that, the staff here has definitely become even more friendly--our server, Zach, was super efficient and attentive throughout our meal. The food was incredible from start to finish: * Mahi Mahi Fish Ceviche: We started with this alongside fresh tortilla chips, and it was honestly one of the best ceviches we've ever had. * Clam Chowder Soup: This special clam chowder came served with Parmesan cheese bread, which was absolute perfection. Again, hands down one of the best soups we've tasted! * Molcajete Surtido: For our main dish, we ordered this classic feast loaded with grilled colossal shrimp, arrachera steak, chicken breast, chorizo, spring onion, jalapeño peppers, nopalitos, avocado, pork rinds, molcajete salsa, queso fresco, and corn tortillas, served with a side of rice and beans. All the meats were so tender and flavorful, and the rice and beans were really nice. We were so full that we didn't even get to touch the tortillas! To top off a wonderful evening, they brought out a complimentary ice cream with a candle to celebrate my wife's birthday, which was such a thoughtful and sweet touch. Whether you're planning a special date night or a family outing, we definitely recommend Ventana Grill!
