In July we contacted 72 Degrees/Cooper Brothers to come and do a maintenance inspection on our AC. John showed up on time, inspected our unit and suggested a few things that would improve our AC performance. He was very knowledgeable and not in the least high pressured. We felt very comfortable in having him update our unit, knowing that we would have a reputable company behind it if we ever needed them. At the time, we joined their maintenance club, which prompted them to come out last week to inspect our furnace. Patrick came out for this visit and did a thorough inspection, finding that the unit we had was not meeting our needs. We weren't surprised, since it hadn't been performing well for us. We received a very reasonable quote for a new heater and were contacted by Maria to set up a day to have this done. I called Cooper Brothers because they installed the unit at my last house. At that time, the owner came out, gave a very honest assessment, and we went forward with the install. This time, Dillon came out, an employee, but gave a long list of items wrong, all but one unnecessary in fixing the issue. I cut down a 6K list of items down to the primary issue and a few others, but a day later I really felt like I did unnecessary repairs, spending about half of the bill on replacing components that still worked. Although the work was done well (although when he worked on the furnace, he didn't take the time to retape some fallen insulation, something I would have thought he would have done as a courtesy), I don't like the feeling of being oversold, and having to negotiate down to the work needed. For these reasons I won't be moving forward again with them, but if you are OK knowing you need to be firm in cutting down the work order, they may work for you. read more

We requested a maintenance for our AC unit which was installed about 30 years ago and had not been checked in more than 5 years. Patrick H came to our home and worked for over 6 hours to clean and repair the AC unit and all of its parts. He took the time to carefully explain what he found and what was needed to repair the unit. He even removed a dead mouse that had somehow gotten into our AC equipment and died (presumably from electric shock). We were actually surprised but also pleased that he did not recommend we replace the entire Air conditioner, but instead did the necessary repairs and saved us several thousand dollars. And, we noticed a significant improvement in the performance of the AC when he was done with the work. We will definitely have him come back for maintenance again. read more

Cooper Brothers installed a new furnace and AC for us a few years back. Everything's been great. Last week, it started to get cold, so I go turn on the heat, and I got cold air from the registers. I called Monday and got an appointment for Wednesday. John came out Wednesday morning and worked really hard to troubleshoot the problem. He explained what he was doing along the way. After he tried everything (or what seemed like everything to me), he recommended MTZ Plumbing (awesome people BTW) to take a look at the problem. John is really awesome. It's Wednesday evening. My heater is working as good as before. I'm really happy. I'm so glad I chose them back then, and damn happy to use them again. read more

Zero stars if I could but Beware of lies, dishonesty, and sales... this company is all about sales and bypass the actual issue and recommends other possible scenarios that they spot. when I called cooper brothers 72 degrees I mentioned my AC was blowing hot air, the technician said I needed a new fan motor, I mentioned a possible leak, the tech then spotted something else and said a furnace motor that doesn't make sense he just went on and on without even checking for a leak, he did say I didn't have any refrigerant and charged me to fill it, not long later it went dry again, called them back and no refrigeran, I asked him it's a leak right he said maybe and never checked for a leak even though the first out he put a dye in the to detect a leak but never checked again and kept telling me other possible issues and selling product, I asked him do you guys get commission he said yes and that's when I knew this company is full of it and I will take it as far as I can to stop this nonsense. I called another company and explained what I thought and he said you have a leak and started searching immediately and found the leak in just one minute, it's very upsetting how low cooper brothers can go, I sent them an email and no response so I won't stop until I do because who knows how many others they screwed over and will keep doing so. I hope those who read this will stay away from tis company and advise others as well. Don't be fooled and do your research and go with someone else. I felt robbed and humiliated with this company it's embarrassing. May I add they even recommended a whole new AC unit which was only a leak at the braze of a 90 degree elbow 5 feet above the furnace In clear view. During the last heat wave, I knew there was a problem with my A/C. I received a postcard in the mail from 72Degrees and I called for a service appointment. John came out and was super thorough and respectful. He thoroughly checked my A/C and heater. There was a part that needed to be replaced in my A/C. John worked very hard to find the part. Both my AC and heater no longer turned on via my thermostat. I initially thought it was due to the old age of my appliances, therefore, I contacted 72 degrees Cooper Brothers to have a consultation. They have different people for different services (i.e. replacement vs repair). At the time, I figured I needed a replacement. Mitch was their sales representative who made the first house visit. He went above and beyond to help troubleshoot and diagnose the issue. I never felt pressured to just replace the whole system. He was able to identify the root problem which was the broken circuit board. He coordinated to have their office schedule a repairman to come within a few days. Before I move on to the repair, I wanted to mention that Mitch made a house call because they had the wrong phone number and couldn't get a hold of me to schedule the repair. Mitch made the effort to come to my house to check to make sure they had the right phone number. I just couldn't believe he went out of his way to do that. It was truly appreciated. If I do end up replacing my HVAC system, Mitch will be my go-to guy! On to the repair process. They were able to get a repairman, Troy (which I learned through Yelp is their manager), to come within a few days. He was super friendly and was very patient and understanding of my 3 barking dogs lol. He was able to get the repair done in a timely manner (less than 2 hours) with no major complications. We now have a working heater again without having to replace much! This is my first encounter working with an HVAC service and I felt very well taken care of by this team. From being responsive to getting a quick consultation to having someone come by my place because they had a minor hiccup with my phone number. That service alone is just above and beyond. I do not plan to look elsewhere for my HVAC needs. This team definitely knows their stuff. They took really good care of me and I truly appreciate their work. read more

The Copper Brothers team replaced my Furnace and Evaporator Coil as recommended by the experts. The team installed the system and recommended to add a booster to improve the air flow. After two months we realized that the system was not properly tested, was not sealed and the freon was leaking, the Coil system was blowing air and the booster was connected to the air condition only. Very poor quality, didn't test and validated that everything is working properly which cost me more to fix after putting a new Air Condition system. That said, the team responded very quickly to our message, sent a professional to gather more feedback and refunded some of the cost. read more

Customer service outstanding! Cooper Brothers helped us to choose, and then they installed, our new HVac system. We wanted something that could really filter the air since i'm asthmatic. They advised us on the right one, and then came in to install it. There were three or four of them on the job, and instead of two days to complete, they were able to complete it in one day. The team was gracious and kept the place spotless as they worked in what was, outside, really muddy conditions. Today Patrick came by (lives near Willow Glen or Campbell) and helped us with a question we had - was again incredibly gracious and helpful. They left a great impression on us, for sure. Today I had scheduled a Air Conditioning Service for my Townhouse in South San Jose. Its been probably a little over 10 years since the last servicing that was performed. My window was from 8:00 Am to 10:00 Am. First off my technician named Patrick called about 15 minutes before arrival and was there promptly on time. He followed all protocol for his arrival, mask identification and booties when coming inside my house. He went over everything as it related to my AC unit on top of the roof. We discussed maintenance and what services he would be doing for us. Patrick was very thorough and extremely professional. He showed me some parts that needed replacing and added Freon to my AC unit. He also made suggestions for my filters and periodic maintenance over the course of this coming year. My AC unit is an old unit but with the servicing and replacement of a parts it is running about 5-7 degrees colder now. I am extremely happy with Copper Brothers and the services that they provide. Very professional, reasonable pricing and state of the art customer service. I would highly recommend them if you are needing a quote for a new AC unit or just for servicing.
