My kids and their friends had a blast at a nerf party here this past weekend! Unfortunately, the management and execution of it fell short and was of poor quality. The lack of communication and coordination was clear, which made the day of the event stressful for us. Furthermore, we purchased the equipment add-on and many of the nerf guns jammed. We did not see the value-add of booking the party at COPA. We could have hosted the same party at home or in a public space without the price tag and frustration. read more

I spend a lot of time here between my four boys playing Futsal and having trainings done. There's been a lot of positive improvements in regard to traffic flow and organization. Our games are always on time, the staff is friendly, and I love how they have families come in through one door and leave out the other. I had my son's birthday party here over the weekend. He decided he wanted a Nerf party. Initially, I worked with Lyndsy to schedule the party. I work in catering and events and was surprised to learn they expect you to pay for the party 100% upfront with no option for cancelation. I went ahead and booked the party to secure the date. During the initial process, Lyndsy would email me or call every other day after I paid, and I heard nothing. I had sent an email over to her to confirm my count, and she replied back, saying I needed an additional coach. This was fine since I had asked a ton of questions prior to booking and knew this would be the case. However, she didn't confirm which card to charge and instead just charged my card, which is a bit shocking. Then, the day of the party we get there and to say it was a bit chaotic would be an understatement. They seemed a bit understaffed. There was 1 person at the counter who also helped to get parties checked in and ensure rooms were ready. Our party was supposed to start at 230 for 75 minutes of playtime, then 45 minutes in the party room. The coach came about 5 minutes late. The kids went upstairs to play while I finished setting things up. I opted not to pay an additional 100$ for their decorations that you can buy online for cheaper. However, the room was supposed to have table clothes, plates, napkins, and utensils. I realized that we didn't have plates, so I went to the front to ask for some. Then I realized that I I for a second coach who was not there. So I went again to the front, and they claimed someone else was up there. I went upstairs to check, and there wasn't. I went back to the front and let them know of which they replied someone called out. At that point, I feel they should have been proactive in telling me that and letting me know I'd get a refund. Then the kids came back down, and I realized we had no spoons and only 4 forks. I had to go again to the front and ask for them. The person brought them in and let me know she would come check in halfway through the room time (4-415) she came back at 425 when the party was ending. After the party, I emailed Lyndsy to let her know about the coach situation. She said she would refund it on Monday when she closed out the event. Today,Monday, she closed out the event and refunded the deposit/coach $200 in 2 separate transactions. Then she proceeded to charge my card again without authorization for the additional kids (no problem as I knew I would pay that). They should ask for authorization to charge a card in case the client would like to pay with a different card. My son did enjoy the Nerf party but wouldn't do it again. It's a lot of money for the service provided. I believe the facility could make significant improvements if they are looking to be a better place to host a party. read more

We have been satisfied. We were one of the first families there when they opened. Then we took a big break during COVID. Now we are back and using the new model. The onboarding was clear (there was a 1:1 phone call for the contract signing), and were clear about their guidelines. Most importantly, my kids are very happy here and love their coaches! The use a positive incentive reward system with star charts for the littler ones. The facility is always clean and well monitored. There is always someone available at the front desk to help you check in or answer questions. There is usually an additional office person who steps in if there is a line. read more

Went inside for an early access tour. It's packed full of features that I think potential soccer players would really enjoy. Artificial turf with 3 small sided and can extend to 1 large. Also regular sized Futsal with 3 small sided and extends for 1 large. 24/7 On Site Trainers and has a workout gym like u see at 24hr fitness. Upstairs for fields and down stairs for weights and machines. Awesome place to get started whether u are a player or looking for referee opportunities. My review is in regard to soccer training for my kids. I have no experience renting their facilities. So let me start with my prayer: God I hope this place never changes! It's an absolute dream. Not just in terms of concept, but their delivery is on point. A true testament to whoever leads and manages this operation. A+ across the board. I have two kids enrolled, ages 9 and 7. My 9 year old is ultra competitive and didn't need convincing to enroll. We both love all the different skills courses offered as opportunities to focus on different aspects of the game. But here's what sets COPA apart from the gazillion camps and soccer classes around the bay: coaches! I'm not looking for AAA European academy pedigree. All I want, and what we're getting at COPA, is knowledgeable coaches who are genuinely invested in the development of my kids. You might think (like I did) with all the classes, so many kids coached throughout the day that coaches are just chugging along the day disinterested. But instead, coaching is truly where the value at COPA resides. If someone at COPA is reading this, I'd just like to say thank you for whatever you're doing to keep your coaches (and staff even - so friendly and helpful) motivated. I appreciate that there's different skill levels available. My 7 year old has never played organized soccer. So the "foundational level" is perfect for him. Meanwhile, COPA has inspired my 9 year old to progress through their designated tiers. So this is all perfect and yet it gets even better for me! That's because they offer access to their training equipment for an added fee / membership. Because I need to commute 30 minutes to get here, I get the most value at COPA when I fill an entire afternoon or evening with classes for my kids. That could present a waste of my time, but instead, I get to lift at what's been the cleanest weight training gym I've ever paid for. If I could offer feedback, it would be for more seating space for parents. Nevertheless, with everything as it is, I hope it never changes. read more

Fantastic facility for all athletes whether soccer lovers or not. My son has grown tremendously since he started here for trainings and plays in the futsal league as well. They have learned the ropes regarding traffic flow and placement of fans during matches which I think from a safety and fire standpoint, is phenomenal. As far as trainings go for scheduling purposes, it can be a hassle to get "the" classes you want at the times you need. And their cancellation fee is understandable but hard to manage with the concerns of weather and outside soccer team trainings at the same time. I get it though- most other companies (MD visits, hair salons, etc) will charge as well for late cancellations in order to help with getting those other clients who are "waitlisted" in. Though I might recommend a cut off of a certain number of cancellations per month to help offset clients/players concerns. Overall highly recommend this place for its innovative and computerized trainings (skills lab, cube, agility and COPA score), knowledgeable staff and futsal games to help players grow in multiple ways (speed, agility, ball handling, etc). read more

We hosted our sons birthday party this month and had about 20 children. The coaches kept the children engaged and busy. The parents were able to see the kids in action, while catching up with other parents. When our play time ended the coaches took our group to our party room. We brought in pizza and donuts. Jo is the Competitions and Events Director, we worked directly with her and she made sure our event would happen without any issues. Overall a great experience for both the children and the parents. COPA training center is beyond amazing, super impressed by the whole program, from the cool tech and amazing tools, but most of all their trainers and coaches are top notch. Shout out to Coach Enrique (my son took his Strength training) and Coach Autumn (Finishing training). Their knowledge and explanations, suggestions and passion have already made a difference in my son's skills & confidence in the beautiful game. He is new to soccer but everyone has been supportive and he said he does not feel intimidated because they professionally guide him when struggling. This is a review for having a kid's birthday party at COPA. We just had our son 5th birthday celebration at this facility. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The events coordinator, Jerica, was great to work with. She was very responsive and understood our needs pretty well. The party was for 30+ adults and 25+ kids and it was the perfect venue for this size party. Note that you will need to pay extra if you plan to have more than 15 players. It's well worth the cost though in my opinion. We were allowed a good amount of time to set up and break down. The room was already mostly ready by the time we got there, roughly 45 mins prior. They provided everything you'll need to host, including tables, chairs, stand up tabels, plates, napkins, utensils, a cake cutter, and a lighter. the only thing I would say you may want/need to supplement are the plates. Tip: Safeway is literally a 1 minute drive away. Most importantly, they bring in coaches to run through activities for the kids (who are over 18 months old). This is a really nice touch since some parents don't necessarily have to babysit their kids the entire time; instead, they stand outside the kids area to watch as they relax and munch on party food. They set up a nice infant/toddler section as well for the young ones to crawl around and run around. I absolutely recommend this venue for kids! Kudos to the team for hosting us. Jerica and the team were available during the party and checked in constantly. Thank you again to Jerica and the COPA staff. Shea was really happy with the turnout. Extremely disappointing experience. As a coach, shouldn't the focus be on encouraging children, helping them improve their skills? Instead, we encountered some exceptionally rude coaches as well as poor management. Have seen several coaches actually make fun of the children. This was truly disheartening. read more

We recently joined and apparently the membership is a new offering. Well it's beyond confusing and makes no sense. I've only ever had my son take 4 classes I've asked to cancel multiple times with various answers. One person told me they sent me form to cancel (you can't cancel yourself) and one told me I can't cancel until I finish my 4 classes? We we're out of town so they were between two months. Over the course I've been charged almost $300?!? Of membership fees. My son is 2 years old... we paid for the original $119 fee for the 4 classes. WTF is $300' for. So absurd, so expensive and the customer service has been useless in resolving and cancelling this membership. Would NOT recommend. Not sure how this works for older kids. read more

Used to play at Copa for a few months now. At first, the staff people were nice. We played twice a week for a few months Than they tried to make us pay for a long period in advance, claiming that they had people wanting the rent the whole place so we need to "reserve" a spot. We didn't wanted to do it and said we will play and reserve open spots when possible. Gradually they started to accuse us on staff we didn't do. Eventually they banned us from playing , accusing us for threatening the crew (never happened) until some of them locked themself in a room because they were scared (what??? Why no one called 911???) The owner/manager didn't want to listen or reconsider even though we tried to explain it never happened. Telling us "you don't pay enough" makes sense, that something we can handle, but making false accusations and going around back doors is crazy! read more

We hosted a birthday party at COPA this fall. We opted for the bounce house party which comes with two bounce houses, and upgraded to the premium party room. One bounce house is a soccer ball and the other is an obstacle course/slide bounce house. The children LOVED them both! We were able to select three staff-led games for the children to play from a list of several games. The children enjoyed these activities and had so much fun with the party coaches. The coaches were energetic, warm, and engaging. They made sure to make my son feel very special at his party and let him help lead games. The children and parents enjoyed the spacious premium party room which comes with a large screen, Bluetooth enabled audio, and party lights! We had a vendor setup a backdrop with balloons and we also rented kiddie tables and chairs. During the party we had a slide show playing on the big screen and a special party playlist playing in the room. After singing Happy Birthday and eating pizza we surprised the kids with a cute glow-in-the-dark dance party. COPA was the perfect venue for our event. It is such a beautiful facility and everyone had a wonderful time! As someone who pays close attention to detail, I visited the venue several times before the party and was treated well throughout the entire process. So that we did not feel rushed, we added on an hour to the party. We would definitely host another event here in the future. Highly recommend. read more

He has improved my daughter's speed and strength over the last few months which really helped her become a better soccer player. Copa as a training facility is amazing with its world class infrastructure, specialized skills lab & cube are my daughter's favorites. We celebrated my son's 7th birthday this past weekend at COPA and it was a successful event. Lyndsy was our party coordinator and from start to finish, she was extremely attentive and responsive. I had tons of questions throughout the planning process and she was always kind and helpful. We chose the All-Sports package. Despite reading some of the negative reviews, our experience was nothing but positive. The coaches were enthusiastic and engaging. They had the tough job of entertaining 25 young children, and did a fantastic job. I asked one of the coaches to make sure there was a little soccer game and they said no problem! We played different variations of dodgeball and soccer, it was perfect. The parents had a great time relaxing and watching the play time. We decided to upgrade to the premium room and also extended the party by an hour and it was worth every penny. The premium room is very large, it fit over 60 people comfortably. The kids loved watching music videos, clips of Messi playing, and playing musical chairs. The parents had a blast as everything was closed off and you didn't have to hover around your child . We brought our own food and a few table cloths/banner to spice it up, but you don't need much since the room is dark and lit up. My son said this was the best party ever. I may be biased, but I thought so too. I have been to tons of other event spaces ie. Chuck E Cheese, bounce facilities, etc. This one tops them all. Changing my rating to 5 stars because their facility, their coaches and now their management has proven to do a great job. ---------------------------------------------------- This review is strictly for the management staff at COPA. My son started at COPA when he was 18 months old and he is now four. When we first started, their program set up was great and simple. I believe it was about a year ago they changed their program set up which essentially offered people to sign their kids up for a bunch more classes during the week if they wanted. Great, but our kid is four years old, once a week is more than enough. Since going to the new program set up, they are very strict about the call out policy; it must be 24 hours before your class otherwise you will be charged $20. I get the reason and it helps to avoid people taking spots and not showing up, but they are worse than an employer asking for documentation when you are out sick. If you have little kids, you know one day they're fine and the next they caught something from daycare, so calling out 24 hours or more in advance isn't always possible. One time, my husband and I tested positive for Covid the night before and I emailed them to let them know and ask for an exception; I even sent them a picture of our positive Covid tests and told them neither of us could take him. They asked me for documentation from my doctor! I told them I am not going to bother my doctor to write me a note to excuse my son from soccer and I told COPA if you're going to charge me I am just going to bring him. It was the principle. I was trying to do the right thing and not be around others when having COVID, but they made me feel like I shouldn't have told them. After I made a big deal about it, they said fine they'll make an exception. Fast forward a few months, our son is just goofing off during the sessions, not paying attention, not engaged and disrupting the other kids so we decided he needs a break and we are going to stop for a bit. Well to get a hold anyone to talk to them and cancel was impossible. My husband had to go there in person, wait 20 minutes until a manager came out (she refused at first) to talk to him. She tells him that she'll cancel the membership but will need to charge us $49 x 3 months because she has to switch us to month to month and we were signed up for an annual membership. Fine, I get it and we agree. Well she didn't follow through, 3 days later we are charged $100 for another month; we call her and she says oh yeah she'll take care of it. So she cancels our membership and charges us $200 additional- $50 more than she initially stated because she didn't cancel us in time and another monthly payment went through. I have been trying to get ahold of this manager, Lyndsy for weeks with zero response or follow up from her or anyone else from COPA. We were over charged by $150, never used the facility the last month we were charged and it's been a nightmare trying to reach anyone. It's like your emails that go to "member support" go to a black hole or they pick and choose when they want to respond. Well at this point, we're just going to go down there and wait until someone talks to us, which is super frustrating that we even have to do that To add, majority of my son's coaches have been amazing. He was with Coach Amanda for a while (I think she manages there too so this review is not directed towards her), she is awesome and so great with little kids. Yes, the facility is awesome but most management and higher level management is pretty terrible which is very unfortunate. We'll be looking for alternative places and I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

We had our 7yo birthday party here, and it was a blast. I will say that our group was a bunch of soccer fanatics, so this was kind of a perfect venue. That said, here are some tips that I think are helpful to know if you're thinking about an event here because it's a hefty price for a venue and you want to manage your own expectations: 1. We did the Cube Party, which was great for a bunch of 7yo's and adults. We had quite a few siblings, some of them a little younger than 7 (all signed the waiver, recommended age is 6+), and there were plenty of adults to help out with stopping the ball as it shoots out and then letting the little ones kick it into the hole. So, know before you go - are you trying to give an experience of elite training or trying to be more inclusive and just let everyone have a chance? 2. Entrance into the party room was made available only 15 min. before scheduled time. This is a popular place, so don't expect to have much wiggle room there. I ended up ditching my decorating plans and just had enough time to get the food ready with some help from other parents. Maybe if you have a ton of help and have ready-to-go decorations, you could do it all in 15 min. 3. If going with the basic party room (we did), you can request things like water and tableware, but I'm so glad I brought my own tableware. Esp. with the 15-minute setup time, you don't want to be worrying about hailing down a staff member to go get utensils because there weren't enough that came with the room. Staff assistance is limited to things like requests for water and having them help bring things to the room. 4. Staff are really really nice and were even giving us a little extra time for transitions because 2 hours really does feel rushed, going from the turf, to the Cube, to the party room. I think as long as you communicate your needs and not expect that they are waiting on you hand and foot (it's a big space with a lot of different groups), they will try to accommodate your requests. So that said, with all the imperfections and stresses of the day, the kids had an awesome time, the coach was engaging, the venue is impressive, and nobody noticed that I didn't have any decorations. ;) read more

I made a reservation for my son's 10th birthday celebration. I choose the cube where the kids and him enjoyed it! The bad experience was with the room reservation. It was given to us late than we were rushed. We all ate the food, sang happy birthday and cut the cake way to rushed. The kids were super thirsty after the play time and they were not offered water. I asked for it twice and it took long to get it. I payed extra for the room with the screen and didn't even get a chance to turn it on. We also had to put the chairs down. I had to walk to the front desk to ask for help when needed. The 12 kids didn't even took a picture like it says on the website. It wasn't comfortable for the celebration just the play time for kids was fun. Might be under staff or not effectively managed. read more

I inquired with COPA to host my sons birthday party 5 months in advance (everyone knows birthday venues for winter book fast!), and spoke with someone who gave a glorifying experience that our party would expect. I had baby soon after that call, and waited a few months to connect back to earth to plan. In the meantime, I got several follow up calls asking if we wanted to pick up planning. I emailed back ready to get started, and was passed over to the new events coordinator. She was extremely hard to get ahold of, rarely emailed back, never returns a phone call and used excuses as "we had an influx of new members, I've been busy" "sorry I work the front desk too, and check my personal email but not my work email consistently." When I would call, no one would ever answer the events line, I had to select "press X for current member" to ever talk to someone live. Finally the events person took me seriously as I raised many red flags with the live person I spoke with. And to my dismay, she told me they can no longer host my sons party as she "wasn't aware of his age" and they no longer accommodate that age. When I initially inquired, the ages were the first thing I communicated because I wanted to ensure it was a fit, to which the initial events coordinator was insistent they'd have a wonderful experience. To be passed off to the new coordinator, and not give them any of my information, to not being able to get ahold of anyone, the long list of excuses, and the good luck, sorry your son is disappointed was one the dirtiest customer service experiences I've encountered. I was absolutely beside myself. Lyndsy at COPA does not deserve to work or be employed for a children's facility let alone hosting a child's special event. The customer service training needs to be imminent as I am still shocked at the lack of service and awareness. I'm beyond disappointed in Joanne who I initially spoke with in length about this party to only end in extreme disappointment. Like I told Lyndsy, it's not her who has to explain this to your child, it's the parents. It's not easy, it's not fun. To which Lyndsy replied " wish you the best of luck" -- tacky and unprofessional. And no one from management called me after I requested to speak to someone. How I was treated while trying to plan an event, I'll never step foot in that facility, or recc'd. read more

We were one of the first clients at COPA and my daughter was training there successfully until they changed their membership and forced us to commit to classes and fees. After few month under the new membership and I believe management team we realized that this environment is no longer working for our daughter growth. In the beginning of summer we requested to cancel our membership due to change of circumstances and girl on the phone told us that she will help us submit cancellation form, since doing it on line was not accessible. Month later I realized that we have been charged 5 month of membership that we were not there and thought it was canceled. I went on line and tried to change credit card but there were no access to do so. I called and email multiple times but without much success. I am currently working with my bank to dispute charges sine COPA would not communicate. On the positive note the facility is amazing just need better management that is not as strikes and cold shouldered as it is now. I think I being very generous giving 2 stars read more

We love COPA!! My daughter has been in it for about 6 months or so and she is having such a great time! The teachers are all great & always find ways to address each child by name even if it's just their first time meeting. I think it creates a personal relationship between student and coach. My daughter loves coach Amanda & coach Mark is so sweet as well! We have had some moments in class where my daughter has been uneasy about playing or has had her "5 year old meltdown" but the coaches make everyone feel so comfortable and at ease. We have been super impressed with this facility and love that we can take unlimited classes. It's been a great way to really familiarize with the sport! There is also a little play room where kids can come before or after class and get some energy out. There are gymnastic mats, cubes, etc. it's been a great outlet for my daughter. Thank you COPA! This is an incredible facility for soccer lovers! My daughter is currently participating in the winter futsal league with her comp team and we have had a very positive experience. My husband coaches two teams and I think he and all of our families would agree that the girls are having fun and futsal is helping to improve their skills. It has definitely been worth the 45 minute drive. The turf and futsal courts are well maintained and staff have been very friendly. I don't think it's fair to judge a facility based on one call from a referee, but we have had good experiences and have played 9 games so far. Communication from the league has been excellent. We also had to reschedule a few games this season, and each time their competitions director, Jo, responded quickly and helped us find another date that worked for both teams. My sons also had the opportunity to tour with their teams and we hope to participate in more of the programs in the future. read more

He goes above and beyond to make my team and family feel welcomed when we're there and it really has become a community that I can count on to always have my back! I have been there for 5-6 seasons now and I am truly impressed with the level of professionalism and dedication that I see from the crew. I've been to 2-3 different facility's (San Ramon, Martinez, Bladium and others.) The referees are amazing and the field staff are very well trained and are up to date with all the rules of futsal. This is an updated review for the COPA youth leagues. We decided to give this place another shot since my teams love futsal. What a difference changing out a few staff members makes! The scheduling and communication were great. Jo has really turned the youth leagues around and made it a lot more of an enjoyable experience for myself and my team. The refs were not the best, but still a whole lot better than last year. We will be back for another youth season next year! read more

I went for a drop ins on Thursdays & you play king of the court rotating teams, paid $20 too play so everything should run smooth with that amount. there was a team who was aggressive from the start just cussing & saying bunch of words that could get you "kicked out" as soon I went to tell management his name was berry & Alicia they did not seem to care & completely ignored it as if nothing happened while the other team is trying fight over fouls! which happends its soccer you say sorry & play on nobody came to fight or cause drama but alicia knew the guy on the team so she couldnt care less & berry looked like he just woke up from a Nap completely brushed it off , I honestly would not play here again it's just ghetto & unprofessional. The guy who knew Alicia who was playing on that team said Infront of everyone that he works there? & its either we play or we get kicked out? But they were the ones trying to fight & acting out , his name was Addison? Turns out one of employees said he doesn't even work here ? I asked him why is he acting & saying that he is & he seemed confused just unprofessional seems like no one cares , looks like its under new managment, andres was a way better supervisor there it's sad how ghetto this place is now for the over price they are charging! First time doing futsal at Copa but have been there numerous times for trainings. Overall we have had a great experience. The staff have been very helpful and welcoming. It is the type of facility our kids deserve in this area. read more
