This place is open 24/7 and has basic diner food. While it isn't gourmet by any means, it has a great greasy spoon feel and a traditional breakfast menu. Their sandwiches are also pretty good! Worst experience in dining in a long time. Food was tasteless and sloppy on the plate. The manager came past our table several times scowling like he was mad at the world. One of my favorite local place to eat. I go here with my boyfriend and sisters all the time. From my experience, the service varies time from time depending on what time of day it is but overall they're really great. They're really friendly and will check on you. Had chilaquiles and it came with mexican rice and beans, the beans tasted like they came from a can, the sauce on the chilaquiles was not so good tasted more like dry chili powder with ketchup. Honestly, I had forgotten about this place. I used to work in Burbank and after we closed at night, we would often eat here because of the hours. So, I saw it pop up on Postmates. I ordered the Pork Chop. Had I realized the time when I ordered, I would have never done it. It was around 30/40 min from when they closed. Well, it didn't matter. This pork chop was one of the best I have ever had. I live in Hollywood and it arrived from Burbank still hot. The chop wasn't overcooked. It was really juicy. You could see the cut marks where they had checked for the doneness. It's a very thick chop with a side of applesauce, potato, and veggies. So thankful the cook treated my meal just as well as they would have if it had come in a the beginning or middle of the shift. I really appreciate the chef that was working. The Coral Cafe is still putting out awesome food in the middle of all of this. Definitely worth eating here. read more

This was our extra breakfast out because of the July 4th holiday. This is the only place other than Brent's in the valley where I can get a corned beef and pastrami omelette. Also I am trying to keep the carbs down and I can get my breakfasts with re-fried beans and corn tortillas. The wife enjoyed her turkey bacon, fried hard eggs and fruit. They also had a good selection of herbal teas and that made her happy. The coffee (black) was good and hot too. Service was good.. This place is a perfect lunch or breakfast place and has GREAT pie! The pie is a little on the pricier side for the quality, but overall not bad. I had a California Chicken Sandwich and my wife had some pancakes. Both were excellent portions and were served hot and fresh. We give their coffee a solid 8/10. They have flavored creamer, which is our favorite :). The food was a nice 7.5/10. and total cost came to about $16 per person including tip. Coral Cafe reminds me of an older '90's diner, but with a HUGE menu. The service isn't much, but is better than most restaurants nowadays. We will definitely be back! read more

We've been coming here for years and we just can't take the disgusting restroom another minute. They say you can always tell the cleanliness of a restaurant by the cleanliness of the bathroom. It's just nasty. It's always dirty when we go in. There's water stains everywhere, urine stains, graffiti, dirty toilet, and trash on floor. They use this one toilet brush that is laying on the floor and covered in feces. Gross!! I will no longer eat here until the bathroom is redone and cleaned up. read more

Did a take out order of Sunday ribs and salmon. We have had ribs from the Smokehouse and we feel like the Coral is much better, less dry and more tasty. Order was ready on time, order was correct. They gave lots of condiments, napkins and utensils. The salmon was a huge piece and delicious. We ordered mashed potatoes on both but sadly got gravy on them, forgot to ask for them dry. The gravy is not recommended at all. The mashed potatoes were dry. Had the chicken tortilla soup and it was great, they also give you the tortilla strips and cheese. Cornbread was delicious. Bill came to about $40 but we can eat 2 nights on the amount of food they give you. The servers were very nice. read more

My husband and I referred to this as the old folks restaurant. Everybody goes there. Not just old folks. But they have so many specials and so much food available. That it's an older persons with dream. LOL. In either case they're open 24 hours, one of the few diners still around, tons of room, and the staff is wonderful. It can provide for large groups or just a few of you. Noise level is moderate. It's comfortable like my old shoe. No surprises, it's always the same. That's what I like about it. I come to the Coral often. It's a staple. It's open at all hours and the full menu is generally always available. The menu is huge. The options are huge. My wife has certain dietary restrictions (AIP) that prohibit her from eating a lot of things and the Coral is one of the few places that not only can cater to her dietary needs, but she can have the breadth of the menu with. There have been... individuals who complain that Vegans can't eat there. Well, Vegans shouldn't be dining out in the first place, and certainly shouldn't hold anything against the Coral considering they can flex for EVERY other dietary issue on the books. So, Vegans should go kick rocks. The Coral is, in almost all ways, a locally-owned 24 hour diner similar to a Dennys. Compared to Dennys, there is far much more on the menu and it always tastes fresher than Dennys fare. The deserts at the Coral are to die for. Nothing on the menu is... "spectacular." It's meant to be easy-to-digest, comfortable food (again, just like Dennys). You can't compare the Coral to anything that is not an all night-diner type deal. So, in the realm of the food alone the Coral beats out Perkins, Village Inn, Dennys, and even Carrows. What gives it three stars? Two things: the service and the coffee. The coffee is terrible. In any other part of the country you could get away with mediocre coffee, but being in SoCal with so many coffee aficionados, the bad coffee sticks out like a sore thumb. I feel like that could be an easy fix on their part. The service is also something that other Yelpers have harped on and I agree. The service is rarely inattentive or late. But 90% of the time I go I get frowns and looks of abject depression on all the workers faces. I never feel like my business is appreciated. This is a uniquely American concept and it's wholly embraced at the Coral. I always feel like I am trying to fight off whatever negative energy the servers are storming around with. I would not go here for "comfort" food if I was sad, because I'd probably leave even sadder. If they can fix those two things, I'd happily give the Coral Cafe five stars. read more

This was my second visit. The first time that I had gone there I was escorting a friend who was going to a recovery meeting. My friend moves in a power chair. The restaurant is big enough to accommodate his chair and there are ample tables so one isn't necessarily forced into a booth. The menu is enormous and there are seasonal offerings. I had a lamb burger, for example, and my dining companion had panini. We each had a different soup (they offered four soups that evening) and we shared a plate of onion rings. The portions were quite large. The food was served at an appropriate temperature and our beverages were monitored throughout the meal. When we asked for a take away plate the waiter furnished us with multiple dips (i.e., ranch, bleu cheese) for the onion rings. My only regret was that I didn't have room for dessert. They have a wide assortment of cakes and pies. I will certainly be returning when my travels bring me to Burbank. read more
