Our eldest son invited us for lunch to try this BBQ place in McKinney. This bbq place is busy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The place is next to a farmland with cows and goats that can be seen roaming on the fenced grass land. They make their own beef products like sausages, steaks and packed it in an airtight bags being sold inside the Market next to the bbq order counter. They also have a bar where you can order your favorite drinks or cocktails. I ordered beef brisket plus 2 sides of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Wifey ordered Chicken salad croissant sandwich with all the trimmings. The brisket is not well marinated. You need to deep it in their special bbq sauce, but it's thinly sliced, soft and moist. Taste good, but small portions. The croissant sandwich came up with all the trimmings, it taste good. They have an area where kids can play and hangout, being watched by Parents. They have parking spaces, too.

Buckle up and get ready for some boot scootin' family fun! This is a barbque oasis in the backwoods, not far from Meyers Park with plenty of seating, a full bar, games and a stage for entertainment . I have had better brisket but the smoked chicken was delicious as well as the fried Okra. They have a store inside the building with meats and miscellaneous goods and all the seating is outside. I will definitely be back!

I have been coming here almost every weekend!! The food is amazing, the staff are super friendly. They have a grocery store with milk, eggs, steaks, and so much more. Try the Pastrami sammich. Try the double baked potato casserole. Try the ribs. Pulled pork Brisket. Actually, try everything. Just don't try NOT trying this place. That's a double negative :) Seriously , amazing food amazing people. Local, family owned and operated.

I was out in the area doing some work when I drove by this place one afternoon. I looks like an old farm house that has been converted to a BBQ and live music venue. That Friday I took my sexy women out for a date there it was really cool. The BBQ was pretty standard..... the Mac and cheese was really on point. But it's such a cool little venue.... kids running around but not in the way, people with lawn chairs in front of the stage, looked like a full bar, a good number of table, and white lights everywhere. What a great evening place to just hang out, have a few drinks, and listen to some average live music. We will Def be back to unwind on the weekends.... such an out of the way gem.

This was a wonderful drive by!! We went to the pumpkin patch down the street and afterwards we came back to get some bbq. We are sooo glad we did!! It was absolutely amazing!!! We got chopped brisket, jalapeño cornbread and onion rings and loaded tater tots!! So good!! We also got a frozen rose plus margarita that was made with all fresh ingredients! Yumm!!!! We highly recommend this place!

The Corner BBQ "shack" is now comprised of a gorgeous outdoor deck, pavilion, lawn, and picnic area. There is plenty of room to run around or relax in the shade. Staff are super friendly. The brunch menu is fantastic. Order at the window and they give you a buzzer -- everything is cooked fresh and made to order, and it's worth the wait. The Texas Tostada was smoky, salty, and perfectly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Smoked Chicken Migas had a delicate sweetness to them, and the homemade flour tortillas were soft and warm. All the ingredients were so fresh. Bottled water rounded out the meal. We sat at a shaded picnic table and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the excellent food.

I'm really conflicted here! I want to scream from the rooftops about this place to get the word out but, then again, do I really want to have to fight you for insanely delicious farm to picnic table BBQ? This is off the beaten path and that's what I love most about it. Turn on some John Denver (unless you prefer Texas Country) and take a country road to Corner BBQ shack. Make sure you check their hours first and if you want BBQ, come on the weekend. When we pulled up we were greeted by a very tall, stout gentleman rancher. Mr John Johnson runs this farm and he will show you what southern hospitality is right when you arrive. You can't miss his South African accent but don't let that fool you. This man knows Texas BBQ quality and it shows in his work. After a long conversation and personal tour of the place from Mr Johnson, we met Pam. She is the sweet lady running the market store. Yes, I said market store!! Wanna grab some homemade jam, queso, salsa, pickled vegetables or maybe their house made sausages, on-site butchered meats and homemade soups? We purchased the jalapeño cheddar sausage, fresh ground pork, el Diablo salsa and the jalapeño queso which is crazy good! I'd get it all again! I haven't opened the blueberry jam yet but if it's anything like all the other stuff I've tried, we're good! Now the food. Oh. The. Food. The hubs had the prime brisket sandwich. I should have stolen it from him because the bite he shared melted in my mouth like butter. I didn't know meat could melt quite like this did. My pulled pork sandwich was equally delicious and you'd be a silly fool not to get the onion rings with your meal. All the food is house made, even the buns were a slightly sweet sourdough and perfect addition to highlight the meat. On my list next is the burger. There's something about fresh beef from a farm! We devoured our meals before I remembered to get pictures but don't worry I'm gonna head back over there this week for that burger. In the works: Mr Johnson threw out some hints that they are growing this place to something special. He pointed out where they are building a stage with plans for live music and a bigger seating area. Honestly the plans were exciting but I'll be a regular here regardless. I truly felt like I was a guest at Mr Johnson's home. You can't beat that feeling and I hope they never lose it. Take a Friday off work. Head to Corner BBQ around noon and kick back, take in the sunshine and cool breeze and enjoy my new most favorite restaurant!!

This is strictly a breakfast review as I haven't tried the bbq or lunch yet. First off it's a very cute place. Very friendly people. Redneck Benedict- has biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs, onion and jalapeño. It was excellent. It's a lot of good. Bacon and jalapeño pancakes- I wasn't sure what it expect with these. Was worried they would be too. Spicy with the jalapeños and it would over power the pancakes. I was wrong. The bacon and jalapeños were very visible in bing chunks through the pancakes but yet it somehow was very subtle and not overpowering. The pancakes were so light and fluffy. They are so good. I imagine just regular pancakes are awesome too. I was told the breakfast sandwich was great too. I will definitely be back as I live right down the street now. But I would come back even if the drive was much further.

Well we had the Birria tacos and chicken sandwich. My fault on not asking fried chicken. The grilled chicken was 6/10 decent smoke flavor but that's it, the bread was the winner on that one. The tacos were disappointing very fatty, mostly fat and hardly no meat in the taco, one did have it and the other did not, but for 18 dollars for two tacos, come on now. It was lacking some sort of salsa. The mac and cheese was a 10 and it really saved the day. I would come back and try some other stuff and see if the review changes.

This is a favorite spot of ours. The food is excellent, the store has the best selections from the farm, the people are wonderful. The seating is all outdoors under awnings. Sometimes they start the smokers out front so you can buy meat and toss it on yourself. This is a fantastic place. read more

Meats are smoked on-point and they don't cut corners in doing so. The customer service and overall vibe is an experience that's incredibly rare to find. It's very peaceful, and the love can be found in the BBQ. There was a huge mistake in my order, and it ended up costing my family's+kids entire weekend schedule since I had to drive all the way out back. But their customer service did everything in their power to try to make it right. Personal suggestions: Pineapple coleslaw had too much mayonnaise, really liked the balance of pineapple flavor, but mayonnaise was way too overpowering and heavy, wanted something lighter. Also, I personally felt ribs were a tad overcooked, but all the other meats (Brisket, Pastrami, Pulled-Pork) were all on-point. read more

We stopped by on Saturday. The place is nice to see and the store was full of good things to eat. Great El diobla hot sauce, but it was not hot. However, It was tasty. We ordered half a rack ribs and one chicken sandwich to go. The food looked great and was seasoned well. The only problem with both meats were very dry. The thigh meat was so dry I used up the little cup of bbq sauce that came with it. The ribs were so good and so dry!. Maybe we came at the wrong time. read more

Been coming here since it opened. Far and away the best bbq in north Texas. Better than Hutchins or Tender's, and I'm a big fan of both of those places. I've had everything on the menu and it's all amazing. If you've never been here, start with the prime brisket sandwich. Then keep coming back for the rest. read more

We passed by Corner BBQ Shack heading home and decided to make a u-turn and check it out. It's a very cool spot to eat and hang out. My wife ordered the pastrami sandwich I ordered a chicken and veg(keto) plate and a South African sausage. We're from California and have been to New York and we love pastrami, this was the best pastrami we've ever had. All beef comes from the farm it's located on so it's as fresh as it can be. You have to stop and eat here...this is going to be our go to place to eat from now on. We also had a great chat with the owner who was walking around and greeting everyone. There is also a small country store, they sell fresh beef, pre-packages meals , etc. read more

Staff is amazing!! I feel like I'm at someone's ranch home and they invited me over to eat some great Q, drink something adult and listen to some live music among friends. This place is really something special! Hidden on the backroads outside of McKinney city limits is this outdoor only seating, cozy eatery w/ a small bar; if you weren't looking for it you might miss it! Mom and I found out this land and restaurant is owned by a South African native who raises his own cattle for the restaurant. We really enjoyed the ribs, brisket and sausage. DELISH!! Another cool piece to this place is the sweet/quaint country store inside. They sell things like homemade local salsas, raw meats and a few other specialty items. I would HIGHLY recommend this place especially during the warmer months! read more

Greatest BBQ, hamburgers, sides and people. Go visit the shack and I promise you won't go anywhere else for BBQ. You can get fresh meat, the best meat I have cooked, milk, all sorts of things inside as well as merch. It's an incredible place and the greatest people. First time there and absolutely loved it. The cheesesteak I had was fantastic. My wife had two tacos and the tortilla was grilled which was a nice touch. The bar had great drinks and the atmosphere was very family friendly with lots of room for kids to run around. Music stage provides live entertainment. All of the staff was great and the store had lots of great food and merchandise for sale. It is a new must go place for us and highly recommend! read more

Some how I found out about this place for "Having The Best BBQ in McKinney", which caught my attention. I thought it would be the same ole' folks winning the award but I had never heard of this place. What a hidden Gem, so glad we tried it. BBQ is awesome, and if you like it, you can walk right into the store and buy some meat to take home and smoke it yourself. The sell jam's, pepper sauce,, all kinds of stuff in their store. They have a full bar and wine. Prices are not ridiculous. Seating is outdoors, they have some covered area's. It was about 5 degrees cooler being away from all the city concrete and heat. Very nice property with fans, picnic tables and pergola's. They had Country Singer Matt Mason there who was really good. In the cooler months the owner told me they have fire pits they roll out and everyone can sit around them. It is dog friendly with bowls of water and plenty of good BBQ getting dropped on the ground for them. Kids were playing yard football, corn hole, etc. Just a really nice experience and great vibe, help was very attentive and pro-active. We will be back. read more

Finally! A local, neighborhood BBQ spot that knows how to properly prepare protein. Locally sourced and aged onsite like a fine wine, it won't be long before Corner BBQ Shack starts getting some chatter in the "Best BBQ Spots in DFW." And for those of us who prefer high-end cuts with attention to the center of the plate, the inside shop houses a traditional butcher shop you won't find at any area stores. Throw in some live music and family friendly sunset settings on the lawn and Corner BBQ Shack has quickly become our go-to hidden gem (that won't stay hidden for long). Great concept, Big John. What a disappointment. Made the drive based on 5-star rating but such a fail. Girl at window would not even smile, wouldn't say anything until we ordered and she'd then tell us they were out of it, such as the jalapeno cheddar sausage and the Fritos for Frito pie. We got farmers sausage sandwich, meatball sandwich and pastrami since it was supposed to be amazing. Farmers sausage was skinny bland sausage on a roll type bun. Bread was good, light and fluffy and reason for the 2 stars meatballs (2) on sandwich were large nut bland, no seasoning and just enought tomato sauce on outside of them to say they had sauce but not enough to add any flavored. Came fluffy light bread but almost too soft for holding meatballs. Pastrami was on slightly different bread, not as light, little difference in taste. Three tiny strips of pastrami seemed good but not enough on bread to even really taste it. Tiny amount of cooked to complete mush onions smeared on bread. All sandwichs were too expensive for what you got. Meatball came withvdill pickle spear but was just generic pickle brand. Inside store looked clean but there was a terrible sewage smell so we left fast. Will not go back, so not worth the effort. Truly don't understand what rave reviews were about unless they're all friends/family of owners. Large party turned up, scooted two tables in front of doors and we're so loud and standing around taking over outside eating area, staff did nothing to move them away from door or get them to settle at a table when food orders finally started coming out, that party stopped server every trip to ask questions or ask for something about food they were holding. They held up our orders as well. read more

The two green salsas were decent, but the habanero stood out with great flavor and a nice kick of heat. The staff was super friendly, and service was quick on both visits. Overall, based on consistency and my experience across both trips, I'd rate this spot 3.5 stars.

This was my second visit to The Shack, and it's clear they've leveled up since Chef Noah came on board. The buzz about the smash burger is spot on - easily one of the best I've ever had. I added bacon to mine, and it was next-level. The fried pickles were a standout too - perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and held together beautifully (no soggy bites here).
