It's a flour tortilla burrito filled with lots of scallop potatoes, eggs, cheese (kraft) and choice of meat (bacon, sausage, ham or steak) "my favorite". If you don't care for a lot of potatoes, then ask for "easy potato" and I'm sure Jimmy, will get it right!! If you like it "hot and spicy" get it with salsa either in it or on the side. The salsa is like a minced picadillo with plenty of green chiles. There is a reason why many wait in line, it's worth the wait. If you're lucky and call your order to pick up, I recommend it. This is a great little burrito stop in Burbank. Now don't go in here expecting to have a five star dining experience, that's not the situation at hand. This is a hole in the wall, small burrito spot with a line out the door. If you are expecting a hole-in-the-wall, quick service tasty experience for cheap, then this is your place. Come with a bit of time because there is usually a line, but you won't wait too long - they crank people out quickly. You don't have too many options: it's either sausage, bacon or steak with your eggs, cheese and potato. Everything is made to order and made on site, you can see everything happening right in front of you. It's Cash Only, so make sure you hit that ATM before you arrive. There is ample parking in the lot, but it fills up quickly, so the street may be your best option. There is minimal seating inside the restaurant, but plenty of covered picnic benches on site if you want to dine in. Usually the burritos come out pretty warm, so if you are en route somewhere, no worries, you will be good to go come time you arrive at your destination. read more

I had to see what the hype was all about, because I love me some breakfast burritos. My number 1 favorite will always be The Coffee Cup Café in LB, but that burrito is more substantial and its for a sit down breakfast. The burrito from Corner Cottage is a "to go" kinda burrito, the kind you used to get off the roach coaches long ago. Anyway, it was just "ok" for me. I have a very low heat tolerance so I had to forgo the salsa because they told me it was very spicy. I wish they would have 2 options, mild and spicy. Not everyone likes flaming hot food. A dollop of sour cream would be good too. I'd also add some onions to the potatoes, they were a tad bland. There were also a ton of potatoes, barely any egg. They needed some seasoning. I took the salsa to go to see if I could handle it and they gave me the smallest container I've ever seen, even smaller than the salsa containers from El Pollo Loco. Another customer wanted some extra salsa and they charged him 30 cents for each container( he got 2). Personally, I'm not down with that nickel and diming crap. Kinda turned me off. My wife isn't an egg fan, she had a bite and thought it was just ok too. She had a BLT and she said :" no big whoop". The bread on that sandwich was tiny and flimsy, not a good sandwich bread. She was going to get a tuna sandwich, but it wasn't albacore tuna. Glad I tried it, but I wont make a special trip for these burritos. read more

I watched them make the burritos and there was plenty of room on the grill but they did not do it. And the place was not busy. But wow-THE FOOD. I ended up with potatos in a tortilla. So, after hearing all the praise for this place I finally stopped by to see what all hype was all about. Surprisingly, there was no line out the door and I stepped right up and put in my order. I got the breakfast sandwich with bacon and a bacon burrito to cover my bases. The guy said it would $14 and about 25-30 minutes. I waited. The breakfast sandwich was small and not very good. I was hoping for the Papoo's style of breakfast sandwich that I yearn for everyday since they closed. Anyone remember that? THAT was a breakfast sandwich! The closest I've gotten is a place in SCV, called Brother's Burgers. The Corner Cottage sandwich is a sorry excuse of a sandwich. The breakfast burrito was good but a little small, and it didn't blow my mind. It's just a plain ass breakfast burrito. IMHO, I think the breakfast burrito at Tom's is much better and guess what, no 25-30 min wait! The best thing from my visit was the salsa they gave me. Hot, but not crazy, and the flavor really added to the sandwich and the burrito. It's what got the 2 stars, over the automatic 1 star for writing a review. I will try this place again. I can't believe that so many people like this place and it's so mediocre. Maybe the 7 guys working the grill and prep and finishing stations had a bad day. After waiting over an hour to get it, already annoyed at the cashier for having a nasty attitude, I got my burrito. I also ordered only hash browns for my kids and was charged the same as s burrito. It was only a handful of hash browns. The burrito is ok, not worth the wait. I would highly recommend you try Appolo's breakfast burrito which is served all day as opposed to Corner Cottage which is till 11am at the corner of Magnolia and Glenoaks. I was overwhelmed by the constan clanking of the spatulas on the grill. There is a guy who looks like Chow Yung Fat who can crack an egg in each hand in a split second. I watched him go through a flat of eggs (looked to be about 36 eggs) in about 30 seconds. The burritos are a decent size and was under $5. No complaints here. I got the steak breakfast burrito... while not the best steak breakfast burrito I've ever had, it sure was tasty! The potatoes inside is what make this a good burrito.
