I've heard about this place a lot (all good things) but I've never come in or even really researched what they serve here. I mean I know what a pasty is so my assumptions were that they sold them. During a beer crawl, the group I was with chose "fancy hot pockets" over pizza so we came on in. I was surprised that it's a restaurant (and a large one at that!!) with a bar and not just a type of quick stop shop/cafe. The menu is quite shocking. They have so many kinds of pasties!!! I tried the Shepard's Pie and my bf had the meatball. I liked mine, that pastry shell is a thing of beauty. I also liked that it was filled with mash. I mean I love starch on starch so I wasn't complaining. My bf wasn't a huge fan of his. Said the meatball lacked flavor. If you're the kind of person who likes to customize your food, I'd highly recommend checking out the menu before coming in because pasties are made in advance. We also got the scotch egg to share. Not a fan. Probably the worst scotch egg I've ever had. It was like chewing a rubber ball that was fried in old oil. The sauce it came with was great though, some sort of mustard-y yumminess. I used it as dressing for the veg that comes under the eggs. The service was pretty good. Our server said he had been working there since day one and that's pretty impressive. He was super informative and very available. We sat in one of the church pews, which was fun but I don't understand their system. We were told that the side we were sitting on was our side and to keep the other side clear. Ok, no problem. But before we sat we asked to sit on the left side and they were like no you have to sit on the right. We actually asked again when the server came to greet us and he's like sorry you have to sit on this side. We expected that another group would come by. It stayed empty the entire time. Talk about an amazing spot, price is super reasonable since it's off the strip, and the food is amazing. The pasties (basically a flaky pastry with a filling) are super buttery and crispy. Really have never had a good experience here and today was the worst of all. Decided to come here after my brother got married today with the wedding party of 11 people. Had to park two blocks away because parking down here is a joke at all times. This 2 hours will be an important detail for our story later. After sitting down and getting waters for the table we managed to lose our waitress for the next 25 minutes. She finally returns and we put in our drink order and find out the most exciting news of the afternoon, they're out of two of their top appetizers and out of their top 6 most popular pasties. When you are out of 1-2 things in a restaurant that's called overlooking the stock or a reasonable error. When you're out of 30% of your menu after only being open for an hour that's called, how do they say in England, "piss poor management." So after deciding on which mediocre pastie all 11 of us were going to settle for the wait begins! After one hour of waiting they brought out our side dishes that were suppose to be brought out with our entrees. So we were thinking...hmmmm must mean our entrees are close if they're bringing these out....waiting....waiting.... Once we realized the entrees were not coming out anytime soon we began to eat out cold side dishes as to curb our hunger from the already long wait. After waiting another 45 minutes after the side dishes came out I began to realize that the 2 hours I put in the meter was swiftly coming to a close. See I told you that 2 hours was going to make a comeback! So I then had the pleasure of walking back to the car and adding another hour to the meter as two hours was not enough time to bring us our food on this slow Sunday afternoon. Throughout the meal iced teas, beers, sides of sour cream, etc. were constantly forgotten or never delivered at all. It was a garbage fire from start to finish. This place is always slow but today was just something special altogether. There are 3-4 restaurants within walking distance that blow this place out of the water. There are many choices in this area and I just can't recommend this place anymore. Legitimately ruined what was suppose to be a nice day of celebration. Last night we came in for food and drinks, we were celebrating our anniversary night. We ended the night here and had an amazing time! Our server Barnett was on point. Drinks were filled without asking. Alcoholic beverages came out fast! He recommended great food and persuaded us into a couple of Jameson shots. What a gem. This place is absolutely incredible. Came in for my husband's birthday dinner because after snooping their insta, the vibes looked just right. We ordered 2 pasties: Cottage pasty and the Royale with Cheese. As well as 2 sides: Broccoli & Cauliflower cheese bake and Garlic Oven Chips (fries). Both pasties were super tasty, but the Royale with cheese was a 10/10, I plan on ordering it the next time. They don't look very big, but the pasties are a great size and extremely filling. I'd definitely recommend ordering one side and sharing it. We had leftovers. The garlic Oven Chips were so yummy! I haven't had good, homemade fries in a long time. The garlic made the fries a little sticky, but it wasn't overpowering. The Broccoli & Cauliflower cheese bake was good, but nothing special... could be easily made at home. Cornish Pasty Co. has a great bar and good selection of local brews & IPAs, but not many well-known beers. It's interesting that they have Miller decor but don't serve it. We did enjoy one of the lagers and my "Kiss Your Mother With That?" cocktail. The mezcal was STRONG in the cocktail, I only needed one. We finished our meal off with the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Not because we were still hungry, only because it was the hub's birthday and it was only right. This pudding is SO good. I'm glad it was recommended in the reviews because good God- the warmth of the bubbly toffee pudding mixed with some old fashion vanilla ice cream was just incredible. It's a MUST ORDER! Our waiter seemed a little caught up with other tables, and only took our orders a few times. Had he been more on top of things we probably would have had more drinks. Went to Cornish Pasty Arts District last night. This was a top 10 worst dining experiences of my life. The waitress never asked if we wanted drinks, and slammed food when it arrived. The busser never talked we thanked him when he cleared. Unless you want to be served by the food and beverage skills equivalent to orcs form LOTR stay clear. Service was quite fast from initial drinks and main dishes. But getting additional help after food was served proved a bit difficult such as getting another drink or some condiments. We were seeing A Christmas Carol at the Smith Center up the street, so I figured, English themed dinner, um, yes! I have heard so many amazing things about this restaurant and (aside from the alcohol, which will have to be on our next visit) almost every one of them was spot on! me and my friends actually love this place: the ambience, food and drinks. the reason for the bad review is one bartender who is always working that ends up ruining our experience due to intentful neglect and unnecessary attitude. i'm not one to pay too much attention to the service, but i've had several experiences with this guy and if i go in going forward, i will definitely be going out of my way to find another server. the bartender who is bald with a beard never wants to take my order. he zooms right past me, not looking at me, like me or my friends don't even exist. keep in mind we are quiet and just want to order, and i don't know the bartender neither have i done anything to him so i'm not sure why i've gotten this treatment several times. he will help any other customer than us, even people coming in afterwards, and is even very friendly to others, but we practically have to wave him down just to get our order taken. we experienced the same thing when getting the check, and when we finally got it, it was for some else's order with their change placed on top. no biggie, mistakes happen, except we again struggled to get his attention to address it, even though he was in the area near us, he just refuses to look over and acknowledge us. when we finally get that settled there is not even an apology or any sort of friendliness, almost like we had wronged the bartender in some way (we didn't....). when we finally get our check, he tosses it down without a word, and runs away. another problem is that he had already taken and ran our card, so we weren't sure if we already were charged or still needed to pay. AGAIN, we can't get a hold of this guy to ask, and at this point, he completely disappears from behind the bar. my friend looked at their card statements, and seeing that they were charged for the other group's order as a mistake, we just left, because we didn't even have a way to speak to anyone. all the workers behind the bar left. we ended up getting an additional $25 charge (which didnt match our what our bill would be) so tldr, we received intentionally awful service from the bartender all night when we just expected the basics of ordering, paying and leaving. we struggled to do all 3 because the bartender decided to act like we don't exist for some unknown reason. then to top it all off, he charged our card for a $15 tip. Very bustling place! Now, it is pronounced "PAUS-TEES", not "PACE-TEES". Pace-tees are the stickers you put on your nipples during raves and parties at playboy mansion. We got the lamb vindaloo pasties which were very rich and had a good flavor with crumbling buttery crust. I'm not really sure how to describe Cornish patsy. A mix of so many different things going on here but let's start at the beginning. Cornish patsys vibe is a what feels like an old school restaurant made during times where there was def a lot of hardships. The menu consists of patsies, which I don't really know how to describe, but think of it something like a hand pie. They have so many different ones so there's pretty much one for every single type of person. I opted for one pretty similar to something like a calzone but it was so much better. Well I've had this on my places-to-try list for sometime and finally got here. It's in the Arts District. Easy to get to but you'll have to pay for parking @$3 an hour. The place is clean and comfy and service quick and friendly (Thanks Dora Lee.) The Rock music is pretty loud so don't plan on coming for deep conversation or to whisper sweet nothings. I'm a fan of British food so Cornish Pasties were right up my alley. They have a great assortment. I went for the Shepherds Pie ground beef pasty with a side of chips. Chips are extra. They seem to have a good crowd of regulars. This place fits right in with the Arts District vibe. They have a full bar with specialty and seasonal specials. My dinner fell a bit short. Cornish pasty is magical!!!! I learned so much about the word "Cornish" while there. I've heard it before but wasn't sure, but it means vinegar based. When I tell you this place was out of this world! It was out of this world! It's all in the details right. So I tried the Cornish meatballs! The coleslaw and the loaded chips! The flavors were robust and the textures together were perfection. I'll explain in my pictures. And ofcourse I tried the main dishes! And added dessert at the end. My server Jesse was the sweetest!
