Cornish Pasty on Charleston is a great spot for food, drinks, pool, and more. The vibe inside pays homage to the pasty's origins, miners! There are pews, wood, wrought iron, and even some photographs of miners along with antique lighting and decor. There are several pasties to enjoy including several vegan and vegetarian options. I personally enjoy the vegetarian cottage pie. It tastes like mom's homemade meals. The crust is crispy and flavorful. They have a large selection of beers. I would love to see more ciders offered. I have been coming here for years, as far back as their previous location. The food and desserts are always top notch. My favorites are the Pilgrim, Tika Masala and the Meat and Cheese. For dessert the Banoffee Pie is incredible and they have a nice drink selection. Ideally I would nock off a half point as their bathrooms are not always well cared for and as of late their service could be a bit better. I imagine like most places they are short staffed. What cool semi hipster twist on British, Irish and other faire. Good music and friendly wait staff that verges on punk with manners. Everything we ordered was great. Having been to the UK and knowing that we make several of the dishes at hone on the menu i was worried that they would not live up to the real thing. I was happily surprised. Because this is a modern twist on foods from our Celtic and Norman brethren some might expect a damp pub with sweaty old blokes telling stories about the great war. Forget that nonsense. This is in the Las Vegas art district where hipsters, artists, bohemian individuals who try to look one off yet all dress and look the same. Expect alternative rock, pleated mini skirts, ripped jeans, black tees, tattoos, piercings, craft beers and ale, and great food. For me, it was a little too loud for conversation and too warm. I think of most British comfort food is best in fall and winter. Even though I loved my peasant pie, its too hot for me to eat it in the LV summer heat. Once it cooled down i could eat it. So good food, fun service with a bit of cheekiness, and the opportunity to wander one of the art district neighborhoods after you eat. Cornish Pasty is located in the heart of the Vegas Arts District, an area of town that I love. So it was an easy stop for me. I love how the place looks and feels, with furnishings from old churches and games like shuffleboard to play in the separate bar area. 1st of all, I've been here multiple times. Found the restaurant by accident December (2022). The service is simply fantastic! & the servers are extremely knowledgeable about the food ... wis to die for!! The ambiance is amazing; it's basically an old church; pews and all , but no longer. I was wondering around this beautiful afternoon in the arts District and my sweet tooth kicked in. Stopped here and went with the seever recommended Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert. I was interested in how this compares to my fave- Gordon Ramsay's Toffee Pudding at his pub at Caesars Palace (which incidentally is free with a Yelp! Check-in!). Outstanding! Great presentation-it came right out of the oven as you can tell by the bubbling of the toffee top (see pic). It had a really strong toffee taste, but it was not as moist as Gordon Ramsay's. If you prefer a more toffee then I would give the edge to this over GR'a. Same size, but more vanilla ice cream here. Worth a stop for dessert if in the area, for sure... read more

Went back twice since my 1st review and it looks like they figured out whatever was wrong with the sound system but still have no list of beers to look at or even a list on the wall just these annoying QR codes. Due to this I still havent had a beer there yet and my tabs are probably $40 less than they would be if they had costing both the business and the server money. Our latest visit I had the Cubano which was tasty but not as good to me as the Vindaloo or The Pilgrim (Both OMG awesome so its a tough bar to get over). I would still say to try it if it sounds like its your cup o tea but Im going to do the Guinness Stew next time. This fact to anyone who knows me is surprising. I am a huge creature of habit and most places I go to I order the same thing over and over, with this place my biggest problem is that I want to try so many of these that I get a bit of decision paralysis. My girlfriend and I had planned a trip to the nearby outlet stores and decided we may as well have lunch someplace nearby before walking it off during our shopping expedition.....and we were SO glad and fortunate to have stumbled across this place .....on Yelp. I used to live in Australia as a little kid, where they are famous for their Cornish pastries, most commonly made with a minced beef or chicken filling, and I so missed those absolutely yummy Cornish pastries from way back when. Then when I saw this place specializing in these, wow!.....it was like an early Christmas dejavu! Of course we had to give this place a try! First of all, loved the converted warehouse look and feel.....the theme having a historical significance going back to the mining days of ole England....interesting story that I was unaware of. The walls adorned with old photos against the exposed concrete block walls with exposed timber rafters above, open kitchen where you can watch your food being prepared....nothing fancy, just interesting, a cool looking bar at the back, and what appeared to be more of a gaming room on the other side of the restaurant. It was rather quiet here when we came, but I guess it's because of the location.....a bit out of the way from the strip, and somewhat inconspicuous in its exterior appearance.....with not many people walking by, especially in this Vegas heat, it's easy to miss this place. However, we were greeted and seated by a nice lady server, and immediately started browsing the menu of so many really yummy sounding .....ok, lets call them Pasty....from now on......with such a huge selection of different, delicious sounding, fillings. We tried to get our server to tell us which ones were the best and her favorites, but all she could tell us honestly was....."they're ALL good!" Ok, so we finally narrowed it down and ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Spicy Asiago Chicken pasties. To keep it healthy, we also ordered a garden salad and, just to try, the Mushroom, Walnut and Spinach soup. There are also a list of vegan and vegetarian pasty options. Ok first off, the Mushroom soup.....quite definitely one of.....no, THE best! tasting, freshly made, mushroom soup I have ever tasted! The ingredients were so fresh, the mushrooms were so tasty that you could actually taste the flavor of fresh mushrooms pop. In fact, I bet this mushroom soup could easily beat out any 5 star restaurants, hands down. We told our server how good we thought it was....not salty.....just full mushroom flavor and texture.....and she told us that their Cream of Leek, Potato & Stilton soup was even better, and was her favorite, so we went ahead and ordered a cup of that too. It was good for me, but my girlfriend thought it was a bit too salty for her, but we both agreed that their mushroom soup was way better! Ok, as for the pasty......I liked both them sooo so much! The chicken tikka curry filling tasted as good as any authentic Indian restaurant serving it, but my girlfriend thought it was just a bit too salty for her. However, she totally loved and thoroughly enjoyed the spicy asiago chicken the most and just couldn't stop raving about it all through lunch! I have to agree with her that it was so delicious!.....not quite as spicy as she thought it would be and preferred, but a dash....ok, a big dip.....of hot sauce completely did it for her! And what even better....the pastry was just the right thickness! Note that halfway through eating our pasties, I had thought about ordering another, but glad I didn't as one full pasty pretty much filled me up to the max. After some salad and soup, there was just no room left for another yummy pasty, let alone dessert at the end. And talking about the salad, it was so fresh and light, and was the perfect compliment to the heavier pasties and soups......and it all went even better .....or as my girlfriend put it, "PERFECT" with a tall glass of ice cold beer! Excellent food, great/interesting decor and ambiance, wonderful service from Carla who was very nice, friendly, and attentive....someone who actually enjoys her job and taking good care of her guests.....,and a fully stocked bar. I liked this place a lot. I was here a couple of weeks ago. I got the pasty (pass-tee) with the thanksgiving turkey dinner in it. It was really delicious. The pilgrim was what it was called. Beware though, that the menu online is not reflective of the menu offered in Vegas, there are several items in there that aren't on the Vegas menu. My friend and I got dessert, we got the sticky toffee pudding which was heavy on the molasses/gingerbread flavor. If you like molasses or ginger snap cookies you will love this dessert. What a great place. All together I enjoyed both of the experiences I had there. There was one server there and she was absolutely pure magic. Seriously ran her tables, food, refills and had time to kindly recommend some choice items off the menu. And with good reason, everything and I mean everything on this menu looks great. Bring out some friends and share plates, the servings are ample enough for your crew to get in a few bites of everything you order. The open kitchen is friendly, organized and clean. We've been looking forward to trying Cornish Pasty for a long time and finally made it in last weekend. The food was so good that it'll carry the terrible service we received. Let's get the bad out of the way. Hopefully our service experience was an outlier, but the service was the worst I've received anywhere in a long time. We were ignored most of the time we were there and spent most of the time looking around for a server. The bartender eventually noticed and sent a server, but this continued to happen. It seemed like nobody was taking responsibility for serving our section of the restaurant. Moving on... The inside of the restaurant had a cool vibe. It was dark and had games around the restaurant. It looked like a fun place to come at night. We tried four different pasties since everything on the menu looked so good. Each pasty should be plenty for one person, but we wanted extra to bring home. The pastry part of the pasties was my favorite part. The flavor and texture was perfection. My husband loved his Bangers and Mash Pasty and Mexican Pasty. He also loved the flavor of his Scotch Egg to start. I thought it tasted okay, but seemed overcooked compared to other Scotch Eggs I've had before. The Cottage Pie Pasty was my favorite. The filling of beef, onion, carrot, peas, mashed potatoes, and cheddar was so flavorful. Paired with the flavorful pasty crust it was an excellent meal. The red wine gravy on the sauce was very good and added to the flavor. The Spicy Asiago Chicken Pasty packed the heat and a delicious combination of flavors. I couldn't come to Cornish Pasty without getting a traditional dessert. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was calling my name. I thought the pudding was okay, but could have used more of the gooey toffee. Today's food adventure was to the Cornish Pasty Co. in the arts district.. we tried the Peppered Steak: Sirloin in a peppercorn brandy cream sauce, sautéed portobello, leeks, zucchini and Stilton English bleu cheese. The Stilton sauce was soooo good. Secondly was the Chicken Tikka Masala (Red Curry): Marinated chicken breast, tikka masala sauce, green bell pepper and potato. Choice of minted-yogurt or tahini. Third pie was Cottage Pie: seasoned ground beef. With peas and carrots, grilled onion, mashed potato, and cheddar. Served with a side of red wine gravy. All three was excellent choices. I've only been here once so I feel like it needs at least a few more visits to give it a decent review. It's not that I didn't like it, I just chose to order the meat and cheese pasty and maybe should have chosen something with more veggies and stuff in it. My pasty was not bad but it wasn't spectacular either. The dough itself is really nice and flakey but I wasn't excited about the "meats" portion of the pasty. It was weird. Like, chopped-up sausage?? I guess the problem is that I thought the meat would be more like ground beef? I'm willing to give this place another try though. 5 out of 5 hands down I was so happy to have found Cornish pasty. I feel in love with pasty while in the UK. So when I found Cornish I made a beeline over. Amazing food doesn't do them justice. We ordered the Mushroom, Walnut, and Spinach soup to start. One of the best I have ever had. I find myself craving it even in the Vegas summer. It's thick and creamy and has depth of flavor and umami that you don't get with most soups. It's so velvety smooth makes you want bowl after bowl, but wait there's more. We then had the scotch eggs.The silky egg is swaddled in a tender sausage meat layer and a perfectly crunchy crumb coating. Very hard to stop at just one. Next up is the Ploughman's Plate. Now I am a huge fan of Cheese & Charcuterie boards so I was excited to try the ploughman's plate. The perfect plate with a selection of artisanal cheeses served with a selection of accompaniments. The Branston pickle one of the greatest condiments ever made. It's savory condiment that has a depth of flavor unlike anything most have tired. I am a huge fan. The cheeses were delightful, I can't recall the names of them all so I apologize for there omittance. Everything on this plate was to die for, again reminds me of my time in the UK. And now the main event. The Pasties!! We ordered a couple and I will try to be short and sweet with them, The first one was the Guinness Stew. Oh where to start.The stout's slightly bitter and chocolate flavor when cooked with the meat and the other ingredients creates a rich and unique bold taste. Smooth and flavorful. And the final item was shepherd's pie. This is my personal favorite. Its like a big warm hug.Filled with lots of veggies and tender ground beef,it's made with an unforgettably rich and flavorful sauce that brings everything together perfectly. I have been a customer of Cornish Pasty since about the time they first opened in the Sahara Commercial Center. I'm often in this area of the Arts District for plays and decided to have pre-show dinner at the new space to which I had never been. On entering, there are large tables and church pew-like seats for larger parties--4+ people. At the back of the right side are some table games for customers including a pool table. I was directed to the left hand side of the restaurant and toward the back where they have a number of two top tables along the wall or I could sit at the bar. I chose the first two top. After looking over the menu, I decided to order something I hadn't had before in my numerous visits, the Chicken Pot Pie pasty. The menu describes it as: Chicken, carrots, red potato, green beans, celery, and onion in a rosemary and chicken gravy. The server brought my iced tea quickly along with asking about sweetener. In a short while, the pasty was brought to my table, cut in half, and with a plastic cup of gravy which is the normal way of serving the sauces for the different pasties. I was disappointed with the pasty. I asked for salt and pepper because the mixture was quite bland. It was also somewhat dry, something I didn't expect. I thought it would be a pot pie inside a pasty but it was mostly dry. I used to stop in when they were at the Commercial Center and order some part-baked pasties to bring home, freeze, and have for dinner at a later date. With the new location, parking becomes more of a hassle. Park at the Artifice and walk across. Try to find a place on Casino Center Boulevard. That's what I did last night. While the new spot is much nicer and larger than the original, I won't be stopping in even when I'm in the area. read more

First timer here! This place has been on my go-to list for a while now after hearing my best friend rave about it. 5 of us on a Tuesday night around 7 pm. Seated pretty quickly and our server was friendly. She let us know ahead of time of all the pasties that they ran out of for the day. My boyfriend didn't get to try the pasty or the beer that he originally wanted but that makes us wanna come back again next time now that we know those are the fan favorites. Everything we ordered came out quick and hot. We each ordered a different pasty so we could try a bite of each other's. I was so indecisive but ended up going with the chicken tikka masala since I love Indian food. Great flavors, seasonings, and spices. The amount you get is definitely worth the price. I was pretty much full after eating only half of the pasty, but I got to take my other half to work the next day for lunch - coworkers were pretty jealous lol. When it comes to British food, the first thing one typically thinks of is either food that one would normally get at a bar, or the image of Gordon Ramsay yelling at someone for a spectacular kitchen cock-up ( no offense to the man, since he has quite a few restaurants here in town ). I can't necessarily deny that Cornish Pasty itself is a bar, one especially well-stocked with all manner of beer and spirits. However, to simply label it as bar food would really be missing the entire point of this restaurant -- focusing specifically on one item and refining it to delicious perfection, and Cornish Pasty delivers on that front! As the name implies, this restaurant focuses specifically on Cornish pasties, a rich, buttery pastry filled with meat and vegetables, though they offer some sweet options for dessert. The history of Cornish pasties is itself discussed on the menu, though that is a discussion for another time. Cornish Pasty is actually one of my personal favorite restaurants in town, though I have not been able to come here at all until now, ever since they moved from their original location in the Commercial Center District on Sahara and Maryland. As I was in the area for a work-related function, however, it was the perfect opportunity to come in and have some of my favorite foods that I haven't eaten in a while. I ended up ordering a lot of food -- the leek, potato and Stilton cheese soup, their Scotch egg, the Guinness stew pasty, and their banoffee pie for dessert. Of course, the first items to come out were the soup and the Scotch egg -- and they were both delicious. The Scotch egg was perfectly savory, with the honey mustard sauce and the light salad being excellent counterpoints to both, but the soup was really one of the two items I came in for ( the other being the banoffee pie ). Rich, creamy, and a tad funky in a good way from the Stilton cheese, it was perfect both by itself and with the crusty bread that came with the soup. I admit that one of my favorite things to do with the bread is it butter it and then dip it into the soup to make it a bit richer from the butter. As for the pasty itself, it was perfect. The pastry was flaky, buttery and tender -- and the filling was delicious. It was impossible to go wrong with it -- chunks of tender beef and vegetables stewed in a Guinness gravy ( and I could definitely taste a bit of the Guinness in the sauce! ) and layered with cabbage, cheese and leeks, together with the strong bite of the chive-laced sour cream, made for a perfect meal. It was so hard to keep from inhaling it since it came fresh out of the oven! As for the dessert, the banoffee pie showcases bananas and toffee, hence the name. And was it as good as I remember: the rich, slightly nutty toffee, the crisp graham cracker crust, and the soft and light bananas made for one of my favorite dessert experiences in town! During my meal, I noticed that even though it wasn't too busy, it took a while for me to be seen. Normally I would consider this a bad thing, but since my work at the time involved walking around in the hot sun mapping the street, it was actually a welcome break to just sit back, relax, and cool down with copious amounts of ice water while waiting for the server. Cornish Pasty is one of those restaurants that knows what it's doing by focusing on one specialty item -- and they have a lot of different pasty options to choose from, all of them flavorful and delicious! They even proudly have vegan and vegetarian parties for those that don't eat meat which are just as good as, if not better than, the meat-filled ones ( take THAT, Piers Morgan! ). Ordered a chicken pot pie Pasty & felt it could use a little more salt, but otherwise food and service were great!!

The food was good excellent; the pasty was plenty for one person. The service was friendly, warm, and welcoming. The atmosphere was of an English pub and I loved it. Definitely will go again when I visit LV. read more
