Moving cross country is difficult and I have done this now 4 times. Of all the movers I've had, Corrigan is the best. I'm actually really surprised at the 1 star reviews. They were able to pack up all my stuff and store it at a good rate for 2 months until I landed in my new place. I got 4 quotes and theirs was the most reasonable and their service was excellent. The men who packed the house were kind and respectful and did a great and thorough job. Even though Corrigan movers did not unpack me (given the geographic distance), their contractors were also excellent. I would give a special thanks to Greg F who gave me my quote as well as a lot of general moving advice as well as Lindsey J who was an amazing moving coordinator. This was an office move for 30 staff, no desks, purely boxes, a small element of furniture, but the only thing I wanted to ensure was moved diligently, was the 40 new leather office chairs. All seemed to be going fine, when I turned up at the new office, the movers wheeled in the chairs, 31 of the 40 chairs were all scraped, ripped. The Manager had gone home and the supervisor asked for it not to be reported as it would fall onto him. It then came to my attention, Corrigan had outsourced this to another mover and was blaming them, however my contract was with Corrigan, so the claim is Corrigans. After numerous emails, I eventually had a visit from the repair firm, employed to review the claim. They stated the damage was likely from numerous hits against a desk and maybe ripped against keys in cabinets. Despite me having before and after pictures, which clearly show no damage in the old office, despite the old office having different furniture (no locks!), in order for me to get any recompense, I would now have to take legal action. Who wants to go through all of that. I did pay insurance to ensure we didnt have a damage issue, for what??? I had an independent review done on the chairs and they assured me that for a chair to be damaged by hitting the side of a desk, it would have to be years old. These chairs were weeks! As expected, trying to get any response was tough and the girl dealing with the claim, albeit nice enough, also emailed to say she could not get a response from anyone. I needed movers, and did some shopping for my local Move in the Chicago Metro Area. I could not have been more pleased with Lindsey who arranged for Gregg to come out & give an estimate. Not only was Gregg most knowledgeable, his suggestions on packing & advise on ways Corrigan could & did provide more services was such a help. I was able to go to the warehouse and obtain boxes & packing supplies for no extra charge! The day of the move was so smooth, and amazing. The team from lead to newest member were organized, beyond careful, and extremely EFFICIENT. I moved on a nasty November day, and between my pickup & destination I was settled and ready to unpack before the lunch carry out bags were tossed. Actually so pleased with the move, Corrigan was my company of choice for my Cross Country Move some 9 months later!! I like a company with no hidden cost, and flat rate for cross country. I will say I had problems on my unload in Vegas, but that was not due to Corrigan. I actually feel this would have been a total nightmare if it were not for Lindsey in Chicago Area taking control and getting my unload & repairs done to my total satisfaction. I've relocated 5 times, and this was the best move by far. The crew was extremely courteous, took special care to protect the house we moved from, as well as the house we moved to. They did an excellent job of marking contents on the boxes which made it easy to find what we were looking for, and placed all contents in the appropriate rooms. This is the first time I've had a move where literally nothing was broken. Their packing service was awesome. Would highly recommend Corrigan to anyone who is looking for a moving company that will take a chunk of the worry and stress out of the move process. read more

Corrigan Moving is a fabulous company - they worked together to make sure I was happy at every stage of the process, including doing things to help make me less crazy - the estimator brought me some used wardrobe boxes when I ran out just days before my move and handed me extra rolls of tape, too! My coordinator was awesome - when I found out my new building had restrictive rules about moving in, one call to her was all it took (while I was on the road driving cross country!). She worked directly with the building staff to set up a new time and provided the insurance rider - everything!!! Her call back to me was simply, "don't worry, it's all sorted out." I hired Corrigan for an interstate move this summer. Brian Wright, from Rochester, NY, came to give an estimate. He was personable and was able to answer all my questions, His estimate was also spot-on--no hidden surprises. One reason I decided to choose Corrigan was Brian's sales pitch about the quality of movers I'd get, because Corrigan hires and trains it's employees and does not use temp help. However, on the day of the move, men from a completely different United company arrived. When I called to question this, I was told that all the Corrigan people were busy that day, so in order to accommodate the move on the date we'd set, they had to bring in different people. This possibility was NOT communicated during the sales pitch from Brian. And the men who came were not up to par, except for the packer. The driver, who manages the team, brought down what we thought was a power line (turned out to be an old telephone wire) and failed to tell anyone. When questioned about it, he merely shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know what to do about. He also failed to supervise the team, and many items were not inventoried correctly. All my belongings wound up unexpectedly in storage for several weeks, and Joanne Onderdonk from the Rochester office was terrific at arranging the storage for me. However, I was initially told that I'd be charged time-and-a-half for the later move-in, since it would be on a Saturday. I was quite distressed, since Brian Wright had told me there is no extra charge for a Saturday delivery. So Joanne emailed me throughout the weekend that she was working to solve that, and she indeed made good on the initial agreement. Corrigan ate the extra cost of a Saturday move-in. When the actual move-in day arrived, I was happy to be greeted by genuine Corrigan employees who couldn't have been more polite and accommodating. Although it was a Saturday, they worked hard all day--and cheerfully--even giving helpful advice on the placement of certain items. They were neat, careful, and kind--the best moving team I've ever had. I waited too long to write this review, so I do not recall their names, but I cannot recommend this particular team highly enough. They--and Joanne Onderdonk--are why Corrigan gets a four-star review from me. There are a couple of issues with some of my things--a broken lamp and a missing box--but this was due solely to the first team. If Corrigan would use only its own employees, as promised during the sales pitch, there'd be no better movers out there. read more

As my husband and I are looking to move, we asked to get a quote from Corrigan. We have never dealt with professional movers before, and before we scheduled someone to come out, we asked the agent on the phone if they could give us any sort of ballpark figure for what a professional move would cost. We had no idea at the time, and Corrigan was the first company to contact us. (We fully realized, and expressed our understanding, that they couldn't give us an EXACT number over the phone, but if the ballpark figure was too high, we wouldn't waste their time or ours by having an agent come out to the house.) The agent on the phone seemed to have difficulty working with her computer system and could not give us even a very general idea of what it would cost. I was not satisfied with the customer service I received and the agents general lack of knowledge of ballpark figures. I declined an in-home estimate. There are plenty of other movers bidding on our move- we'll select one who's easier to work with. read more
