Stopped by this place on a Saturday night, during a company Christmas party. And it was awesome. They had live music band that played cumbia , salsa and merengue. We were politely greeted at the door by the owner and received a vip table in the front of the dance floor. We were a party of seven, and they did not have any problems seating us. Mostly regulars on a Friday night!! They play some fan favorites and before Karaoke ends they hog a lot the mic. A fight broke out while we were there and I believe it was with a woman named "Elsa". It took 5 men to escort a little man out, we couldn't leave as the door was barricaded. The dinning was pressured and it was slow. There is a 15 dollar entrance fee for the music. The food was not that great, We have the appetizer which was meh okay, the tacos were drenched in lettuce and the tacos tico were drenched in thousand island sauce. $20 coverage if you're trying to dance and have dinner. That $20 just covers you and your date to come in, you also have to order food or drinks. I think the $20 is for weekends and Fridays only. They have a live band and DJ, with the dance floor open to dance. I honestly think it's well worth the $20 if you're into dancing Cumbia, Salas, bachata, etc. Most of the crowd is older married adults who just love dancing. You don't have to worry about seeing someone "drop it to the floor" or "twerk" their way to the dance floor. This is a classy place where you can vibe with the band and just listen, or dance the night away with your date. This place is definitely our go-to spot when me and the lady feel like dancing. We don't have to worry about the "young shenanigans" like at other places around the OC. The only problem I have is that if you don't feel hungry or don't want to drink alcohol, they will charge you $5 for a Costco water bottle. I guess a part of that goes to the occupying of the table. This is my 2nd time coming here within a week. I came by to pick my to go order. Lily helped me. She was extremely courteous and the food and charges were all correct. I stayed for a bit to check out the live band. It was great. Dining with entertainment is a plus. She gave me free coffee and refills, and she helped put my creamer and sugar while I checked out the band who was pretty good although I don't understand everything they are saying (Spanish). I am still learning. A gentleman came to my table to welcome me. They have a bar where most people were sitting. The dance floor only had one couple dancing but will probably fill up a little later. There is plenty of free parking here. I'll be back again to try that dance floor. read more

This is the 3rd time I come with my family to this restaurant and they continue to let us down. 1. The first time we celebrated a birthday party and they made us wait a long time to order food and the service from the waitress wasn't that good. 2. Second time, we came to celebrated my moms birthday and although they food and service was better they still took long to serve us and check in. 3. Today, we brought my dad since we thought he could enjoy a nice meal and hear live music. Unfortunately, all of our expectations were not to standard and the restaurant owner even failed to admit they messed up. We waited 1 1/2hrs to order our food and when we kept asking, the owner came to say her (only) cook had left mid service because she didn't feel good (none of this was communicated to us). We waited a little longer and we had ordered 3 steaks and 1 shrimp plate with a couple appetizers. When we finally received our food, the meat was cold, rubbery and tasteless. Again, the owner was avoiding us and when we told her we were only paying for one of the plates she failed to accept she & staff failed to meet basic dinner needs and she just said she'd take it off the bill (which wasn't the point). In the end, we asked for water and she never said bottled water was all they were serving. Turns out each water is $4. Wow. Won't be coming back. read more

Very rude manager or owner on the night of 4/13. I was not informed of the cover charge when I had called earlier. My family drove all the way from Temecula! I expressed my concerns to the manager/owner, and she blew me off! I received no apology for the lack of communication. Also, they had confirmed over the phone, when I was making a reservation, that kids were allowed inside; but did NOT mention they were not allowed to dance. What kind of place are they running?! How can you say "family-friendly" but kids are not allowed on the dance floor?! The "family-friendly" is a scam. Also, the waitress told us "if I knew you guys were not going to order food I wouldn't have brought you the chips and salsa." Very poor service. There are better places than this. Came here for the first time this week to meet up with friends. They were offering a salsa dance class that you could take for $5. We didn't do it but it seemed popular. During the class it there was no music or anything so the background noise was the instructor. After the class it turns into a salsa club with way to loud of music. We ordered food and for the 7 of us it took at least 45mins to get it and the food didn't come out together. Between the first plate and the last plate coming out it was at least another 30mins. I had a cocktail which was fine, no complaints, everyone else had beer. I just had the fried cheese which was good. Horrible, horrible! $10 to get in, $4.50 for a sip of Soda, not even a whole can to be honest. I could have a beer for $5 and at least get a whole drink. Food was terrible and even though the waitress tried it was still not a pleasant experience with the over priced menu. This place is tacky, service is super slow, old manager lady in the front was rude, came running after us to tell us there was cover charge, how about "Good evening, welcome, may i look up your reservations please?" This is the worst service. We were invited for a friends birthday party and it was super loud and crow no music yet. We come at around 8 and the number of chair were not right. We order drinks and 40 mins later we received them. It took 2 hour for the food to come. The rice was not well cook and most of the order were wrong. We wait it for so long and by the end we pay more than 40 for one plate one coffee one lemonade and a tamale. All beside the money we pay just to enter. We visited Costa Rica Restaurant because my son is doing a report on Costa Rica for school. The ladies who helped us were very friendly and patient as my son practiced speaking Spanish with them. To start, we received complimentary chips and black bean dip. It was a nice change of pace from the typical chips and salsa, though I wish the chips had been homemade. The dip was tasty and we had to be careful not to fill up too fast! We ordered the Queso Frito as a starter and I'm so glad we did! It was by far my favorite dish of the evening. It was warm, salty, and delicious. I need this in my life on a regular basis now. For our main course, we ordered Gallo Pinto, Casado Bistec, and Bistec Encebollada. I also tried a Guaro Sour, which was tasty, though not very potent. We all enjoyed our dishes and I thought the rice and beans had much more flavor than I'm used to. The red and green bell peppers gave it a little something extra. For dessert, we tried a Granizado. It was much better than I expected and a perfect way to end the night. Just as a word of caution, do not go here if you are in a rush. This is definitely a restaurant where you need to give yourself a couple of hours if you're going to have appetizers through dessert. We weren't in a rush, so it was fine for us. We got there early, about 5:00 on a Saturday, so we didn't mind the slow pace and had a nice time chatting with each other. Ok it kills me to give only three stars since I'm Costa Rican, but I have to be truthful. I was so excited to finally find a Costa Rican restaurant, and trust me that's not easy to do as I've been to many states and have never been able to find one. It's not as main stream as Puerto Rican or Mexican food. Anyway, when I did finally stop by it was pretty bland so I'm hoping it was an off night. I've found they are more popular for their bar and small dance floor than their food. I was the only table there so service was pretty quick. I ordered a casado, a tamale, and patacones/ tostones (having missed this food I wanted to try it all). If you eat here please don't be biased or turned off from Costa Rican food!! This is possibly the worst interpretation of our native food I've ever tried. The only decent thing were the patacones, which is a mashed plantain slice that's fried. The food was not as fresh as it could've been, and I'm really doubting that the person doing the actual cooking knew what they were doing. Bottom line, I would be embarrassed to have their poor food quality associated with such a beautiful country. It seems like a great place to stop by for a drink tho... And it's really cheap. Homey, low-key, freindly environment. The Costa Rican vibe is authentic here. VERY casual. Fun place for dancing. Mixed Latin on Fridays and Sarturdays, (cumbia, merengue, boleros). Happening Salsa scene on Wednesdays with a DJ and dance lessons with professional instructors. Wow. I have never been to a worst "Restaurant" in my life. Shady and The place is disgusting with 80s dirty decor. I ordered two empanadas and a Red snapper for dinner. First it took way to long to get two tortillas fried in greasy meat.It was not an empanada. One bite waste of money. They I received my supposibly Red snapper like it stated on the menu. But come to behold it was just dirty Telapia. I asked waitness and she flat out lied in my face sayng the box said that whn she checked. I said no bring the manager. SMH.
