    Popusa de chorizo
    Reyna V.

Popusas de chorizo.. dry and flavorless. The curtido and red sauce added some flavor. $5 each was crazy tho, wish the prices were posted. Had I known this was the price, I would have driven to Rio Popuseria restaurant. Better price, better flavor.

This hidden gem has the best tamales. The pork tamales are exceptionally good, had two of them in one sitting.

Not just…read morebecause the food was delicious, as usual, but because we had the incredible fortune of having Scotty as our server. Scotty took what was already a great date night and made it truly memorable. Not only was he the best server we've had since we started dining at Puesto, but I'd go so far as to say he was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. Scotty had a calm, understated demeanor that was part of his charm. He was genuine, attentive, extraordinarily kind, and somehow managed to keep my Diet Coke with lime full the entire evening. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and was always there at just the right moment. Best of all, he laughed at my dad jokes. While the food was outstanding, Scotty made the experience even better. His service elevated an already great meal into an exceptional evening. We will absolutely be requesting Scotty's section every time we visit Puesto Anaheim.

We had the chicken taquitos, potato flautas, short rib enchilada, steak taco, fried fish taco, carnitas and the chicken tacos! What made our visit truly special was our server, Rosie. She was so kind and patient with my mom, and without us even asking, she packed up my mom's leftovers for her. My mom is a little older, and that thoughtful gesture meant so much to us. Service like Rosie's is hard to find these days. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Because of her outstanding customer service, we'll definitely be coming back. Thank you, Rosie, for making our dining experience so memorable!

A group of us came in and spent around $500. We ordered several appetizers and shared different plates because everything looked so good. I personally ordered the tacos gobernador. That night and the next day was awful. I started vomiting, had severe diarrhea, missed work, and my child also got sick after eating. Because of what happened, I called the restaurant to let them know and make them aware. I wasn't expecting an argument--I just wanted them to take the situation seriously. But I was being confused for someone that had already called earlier that day with the same problem. I felt completely brushed off. The response I received was basically, "Thanks for your comment." When I spoke with a supervisor he came across as aggressive and made me feel like I wasn't even allowed to express my concerns about what happened. As a regular paying customer, that was incredibly frustrating. I'm not saying restaurants don't have challenges or that mistakes can't happen. But when customers spend hundreds of dollars, we deserve quality food, proper food safety practices, and to be treated with respect when we report a serious issue. Whether this was a food handling problem or cross-contamination, my experience should have been taken seriously instead of dismissed.

I have…read moretried chimichurri sauces from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but they aren't really very authentic. A friend recommended seeing what El Gaucho might have, so I visited the next day. The market is easy to spot with a big street sign out front. There are only two parking spots in front, one is a handicapped space. There's plenty of parking around the back though. When you walk in, you will see the main market with lots of items and brands I've never seen before. Slightly to the right is their deli counter with lots of meats, cheeses, and other miscellaneous items. To the right of the entrance is a dining area, and another counter where you can order sandwiches, empanadas, pizza, French fries, and drinks. I was laser focused on getting the chimichurri and leaving since I was short on time. It is in plastic bottles in plain view on on top of the deli counter. I purchased the regular variety, but they also have a spicy version. I could already tell this was going to be way better than the other two sauces I tried. I've had it on a steak, and on my breakfast scrambled eggs, and it's in a whole different league from the grocery versions I tried. It looks just like a restaurant chimichurri, oil based with lots of herbs and spices. I just had a nice filet mignon with chimichurri at a good Argentinan restaurant last week, and this chimichurri is about 90% as good. I moved it from the plastic bottle it comes in to a glass jar which will hopefully help preserve it longer, and store it in the refrigerator. I now have no reason to look elsewhere for chimichurri. My friend visits here periodically and says the sandwiches are excellent. I'll have to return again to try one, get more chimichurri, and explore the market and deli to see what other goodies they have.

We took the food to go and ate in the car while driving. The sandwich was good, comparable to any chicken sando you can get anywhere. There was an unusual flavor that also appeared on the fried chicken pieces. We attributed it to the oil used to fry. The store is new, clean, fresh and modern. it has a kiosk ordering similar to McDonald's. Interesting concept, tasty food. I'll probably be back to try other offerings.

Not the best I've had, but good. The roasted chicken had too many seasonings. I am not a big fan of rosemary, and it tasted like rosemary overload. The coleslaw tasted like the big buckets you can get at a grocery store. Such a shame, because I think a great coleslaw can make a meal. The bread was just also a grocery store dinner roll. I wasnt given napkins or utensils, but I guess that was my fault for not checking. Service was ok. I do not plan on returning. I took my order to go, but the restaurant itself is clean inside.
