It was a bad experience but with alright food. I came with a group of people and it took an hour for our waitress to even ask us our order. The food was excellent! The service was excellent! Our server, Cynthia was the best I've ever had. She really knows her stuff and takes her time to get to know her guests. She genuinely cares. My husband had the grilled cajun duo, I had the chicken and dumplings. For starters, we had the fried bacon and fried green tomatoes. I decided to order the Grilled Atlantic Salmon to support the restaurant during the COVID-19 disaster. I placed my order and they said 20-25 minutes. I arrived in about 6 minutes and they brought my food out. When I got home, the fish was not even cooked. I called and the girl who answered showed no concern and no apologies were made. We we're a party of six. I have. Crispy cotton salad and grilled shrimp. My order was completely wrong. Another cotton salad was wrong. The rest of the table was served their meal and it was correct. I waited 15 mins to get my wrong salad and I was so hungry at that point I just ate my wrong. About another 15 minutes the other salad came out. We're were all done eating at that point. We never had the opportunity to order desserts. We we're just rushed out. The two with the salad were very unhappy. read more

First time I've ever had a bad experience at any cotton patch. I hope it was just a bad night. Burned fried green tomatoes appetizer, they were going to bring a replacement but ended up comping them. Hamburger & chicken and dumplings were bland, steamed broccoli was cold, it wasn't ordered anyway . We didn't have time for them to redo the issues. This is the place to eat if you want authintic Chicken Fried Steak. This is the place to come. The Mashed potatoes are very very good and the steamed broccoli is to die for. The Chicken Fried Chicken and the Tenders are also very good. The service is not that good and they could clean better. But the food makes up for it. read more

Our waiter said they were busy and they didn't have rolls and they would send us some fresh ones. Well 35 mins pass and 4 tables got there rolls maybe I'm wrong but they were all white and my mom and I are hispanic. So i had to call waiter after i finally seen him he disappeared the whole time to ask for the rolls and finally they came & they were delicious. But they're were 2 waitresses in the corner booth talking really loud counting money laughing and MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE!!! Come on now I worked as a waitress for 2 & a half yrs that is unacceptable behavior get your sh*t together man. Although the service sucked i left my 15% tip because our waiter appoligized for not being the best (in his words) because he was also running the bar. We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed our visit. But tonight was different. The floor was very dirty. Tables were covered in dirty dishes. No hot rolls. Lamps and walls were dirty and dusty. Artificial flowers were covered in dust. We will not be returning. read more

We have been coming here for a few years, so I figured it's time to write a review. The place is not fancy but it's always consistently good. It's a home cooking kind of place. The steaks, meatloaf, chicken tenders, and shrimp are always good. The veggie plate is good but the squash casserole sometimes comes out cold. We had an experience where we ordered fried shrimp and it really intrigued us when we were given tartar sauce that was empty and appeared to be used. When presenting it to the server, we asked, did we get used tartar sauce? He stumbled around and told us that the New General Manager said that to save money, they're not giving a full container. Then the waitress said a Completely different story. She claimed that the new girl that fills them just didn't know what she was doing...at this point, I'll leave it up to you to decide whether, or not it was used containers taken off someone else's plates. I went with a close friend of mine recently, first time experience. We were waiting for the next showing of 500 (Days of Summer) so we decided to drop by so I could see what Cotton Patch is made of. The waitress seats us in the booth furthest away from the entry and in equal distance away from the kitchen (I am pleased). We place in our order for the Spinach & Artichoke dip (I've made-from-scratch better); it's average. As we await, our complimentary bread and butter is placed in front of us. I was amazed--who offers old-fashioned dinner rolls like I remembered from my childhood at Owen's? We both ordered Chicken Tortilla soup; I am pretty sure that my friend and I had soup from the same pot, but she enjoyed hers (as in finished it completely...or maybe she was just hungry?) as I found it bland and disappointing (Ozona offers a much more satisfying cup of Tortilla Soup). I also ordered the Caesar salad with salmon (dressing on the side). Perhaps it was because of the grotesque soup and its unappetizing flavor, but I thoroughly enjoyed the mixture of cold crisp Romaine lettuce greens and a fillet of warm salmon (albeit slightly saltier than I would prefer). So yes, I give Cotton Patch Cafe my rating of "Meh. I've experienced better" as accurate, as well as honest in my own testimony. read more

Slow service, average food. It took far too long for our order to come. Whoever had put together my son's burger just smashed the bun on. This was our first time at cotton patch and it was surprisingly pleasant. We were welcomed warmly by some servers and immediately escorted to a table. Our waitress was the sweetest lady, the pinnacle of food service. She was kind, polite and managed to not only correctly receive my complicated order but did it with a warm smile. The food came out in a timely manner and was wonderfully hot. Whenever our glasses were reaching empty she quickly refilled them. Y'all should definitely try the strawberry pecan salad because its delicious! The food was tasty and well worth coming again. The pricing is also fair so you get your bang for your buck (especially on Monday nights when they have their special for chicken fried chicken and steak).
