Came to Cotton Patch for a last minute dinner and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and was greeted with a smile. Our server Jazzmyn was very polite and attentive to my needs. The food was excellent! I had chicken fried chicken and the chicken was very tender, and the sweet tea was cold and fresh. Jazzmyn also suggested other items like the funnel cake fries which looked very interesting ! I will definitely try those next time !! I will be definitely coming back to this location to try some other dishes that sparked my interest. Overall Jazzmyn was an excellent server and went over and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Food was great and our server was excellent! He was very good at managing his filled up section and making sure all the customers were taken care of. My friends wine did take a little longer to be served but I think that was probably due to the bar and not our server so that's why I took a star off but other than that, our dining experience was great and we had plenty to take home! read more

I came here 17 years ago this month on the night before I had my daughter to have a Texan favorite- Chicken Fried Steak. It was so good then. My, but how the mighty have fallen. I literally live 5-7 minutes away from this restaurant and ordered CFS via DoorDash. The order came promptly from DD, but everything but the CFS (potatoes, okra & gravy) were all cold. I could live with cold -pop in the microwave-but there just was NO FLAVOR to anything. Everything was bland. Perhaps I should have ordered jalapeño gravy? As a last minute add on I ordered the fried schrooms for an appetizer. In my mind I was thinking of my favorite- Snuffers fried shrooms. Sadly, there is no comparison. Again, bland, limp, tasteless and cold - like many politicians. I would recommend anyone looking for a good CFS for delivery check out Razoos in Lewisville. Food was good, service was terrible. Been here a few times and has been the spot for our Monday nights for chicken fried steak. However, we will have to find a new place because we had the worst service I have ever had in my life. Our server was a women with braces and a small green strand in the middle of her hair. Took 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 10 just to get our order. Food came our 20 minutes later and no condiments or refills were offered. Ghosted through our meal and came 10 minutes after we finished our meal to drop off the check. Proceeded to stand at our table to wait for us to give her our card then disappeared for another 10 minutes. Finally as she dropped off the check; the Monday special was not applied. So, she had to re do the check and had to get the manager. The manager fixes the tab for us and we go our separate ways. TLDR: our favorite spot was ruined by one server. This place reminds me so much of the Black Eyed Pea restaurants I used to go to growing up. Being born and raised in Texas, I get the biggest cravings for Southern comfort food. Everything on the menu is delicious, but don't get carried away and order too much because the portions are Texas-sized and the entrees usually come with at least 2 sides. I highly recommend the fried okra and the squash casserole though my squash this last visit was a bit dry. Hopefully they're not just reheating old stuff...I always walk away from here with at least half of my entree, no sides, and whatever is left of rolls and cornbread. The cornbread is so so good and that there's almost no point in ordering the rolls. Then again, they're complimentary unlimited refills, so you may as well try both if it's your first visit. read more

We had been contemplating to visit this place for long and finally, a few weeks back, we made it. It's very good place with amazing food and good ambiance. Food: We ordered homemade queso and salsa (that comes with tortilla chips), their famous sweet potato fries, blueberry cobbler along with drinks (margarita and strawberry lemonade). The queso and salsa were good but the tortilla was slightly off taste. However, sweet potato fries were totally amazing and absolutely in line with what we had read about it in the reviews. Blueberry cobbler - visually unappealing - was good in taste. We couldn't try any entrees but I am quite sure they would be good too. Margarita - very strong. Lemonade was good too. They give it in a glass jar with salt around the neck. Ambiance: Very good. Well lit and spacious. They have booths as well as tables - pretty much like other cafes in the area. Service: Service is quite okay. They were supposed to get us started with some buns and butter which came almost the same time as all other food. Food arrived before the drinks, which was weird. Overall, some margin of improvement in service. Overall, the place is good to go for a good breakfast. We had dinner there a month ago. The food was just okay. The waitress was attentive. My complaint is that the restaurant has bugs. We literally saw bugs crawling on the wall. I notified the manager and she said, "yeah we are having issues and will have to spray". She took off care of our bill. I suggested that they close and fumigate and she said, "well l can't do that". I told her that l plan to report this to the board of health. She just shrugged her shoulders. We won't ever eat there again. read more

Have dined in person twice (before COVID) before making more than a few orders from Cotton Patch Cafe via door Dash (during COVID) and have to finally say food is always good (and always consistent with expectation when making repeat orders). Large, homestyle menu with nice catfish, savory-sweet skillet cornbread, and I think Cotton Patch serves the best fried mushrooms--large 2-3 bites each, tender, moist, no-drip, breading stays on while you dip. Also, I don't even know who else serves fried green tomatoes, but I've had them several times at Cotton Patch and they are perfect fresh thick round slices, the breading sticks to them, and great dip. We also ordered the corn bread as an appetizer and that was really good. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and he loved it but the mushrooms he ordered was horrible. Cotton Patch is a chain restaurant, and I generally dislike chains. Most chains offer food that is overly processed, with high sodium content, and just bad. Cotton Patch is better than most of the chains. They don't quite deserve as three star rating, but two would be unfair. Their food is typically good (for a chain), and I particularly like the chicken fried chicken. Though their menu does not indicate this, you can order a small portion or a large portion. The small is enough for most folks I would think. My wife really enjoys the pot roast. Their dinner rolls are downright addictive, they are so good. They also have nice salads, very fresh and crisp. Their steak finger basket can be a bit hard to chew, being pretty tough, as is the chicken fried steak. Service is usually pleasant, but they hire a lot of "first job as a server" folks. They try and are trained pretty well, but it is after all a chain restaurant. Not a bad alternative. BTW, the fried pickles are pretty tasty and hard to say no to. read more

My version: The Cotton Patch Café is located in Lewisville on 3040 just west of highway 35. Nice little place. Yesterday one of my friends who eats pretty healthy came back from here with a take-out order for blackened tilapia with steamed broccoli and she said it was wonderful. Well after hearing that I bookmarked on my Yelp app. I called them using the phone number that the Yelp app had provided me. The young lady took my order over the phone, told me that it would be ready in eight minutes. Jumped in my car, when I arrived, the hosts greeted at the door, showed me to the bar for the "to go" meals. I opened the container just to verify the order. I had to take a quick picture it looked great. The tilapia smelled incredible and the broccoli had a great look to it. I raced back to my office for a little work and lunch. It was terrific, the blackened tilapia had just the right amount of spices, not overly spiced and just melted in my mouth. Nice job chef! The steamed broccoli was wonderful also. They even remembered to through in some lemon wedges which I had asked for. When I called in the order, I asked to get it served as healthy as possible and they nailed it, and with great taste. The first time we went here was a great experience. Food was good, service was great. We stopped by yesterday. When we walked in around 6pm, we were greeted by a hostess, who just said "hello" and then stared at us. My boyfriend said "hello, two please." She said hello again, and then just continued to stare at us. Not sure that she heard us, I said again "two, please." She replied "I heard you. I said hello." She continued to just stare at us, expectantly. We were totally confused. My boyfriend said hello, again. She then thanked us and took us to our table. I'm not sure if this happened because she didn't hear us say hello the first time and thought we were being rude, but even if we didn't... that kind of spite is totally inappropriate in a service environment. I was a hostess for two years and worked in the service industry for several years afterwards, and I would never have treated a customer like this. This experience made us so uncomfortable that we walked out without ordering anything. We live very close to this restaurant and if not for yesterday, would likely have become regulars. Honestly, the food is good, especially the rolls!!! However every time I order delivery they seem to forget some part of the order and we have to run up there to get the rest of it. What is the point of paying a delivery fee if I have to run out and get the rest of the order? Cotton Patch... PLEASE start actually paying attention to the order! On 01/07/2022 we placed an order for curbside pickup. We announced our arrival on their website. Once time passed by 10 minutes for delivery to my truck, I called. Emily answered and said she was busy and told me to come inside. I told her I was sick and shouldn't come in the restaurant. She said fine and hung up on me. Been here a few times now. As a whole, I find Cotton Patch to be very good for the price. Food has always been good. Service has always been good. I've got 3 kids so up go out as a family and be fed, full, and leave under $80 (last time it was $59!) Is a win for me. I was there last night for dinner and the waitress had mid back hair hanging in the front and back. When she served the food the hair touched the food. She should be made to tie it back. Also the back booth where all the employees were gathering had drinks and half eaten food and on the end of the bench were silverware trays and in that mess they were wrapping silverware into napkins. I was amazed with my entire experience. Young ladies at the hostess stand who IMMEDIATELY greeted us and sat us right away. We were informed of who our server was going to going to be. Within a minute our server greeted us and was awesome. Jeremy (if that's right) was kind and informative. After letting him know that this was our first visit he went out of the way to check on us.
