Came here for lunch with my 6 year old and was very impressed. Service was prompt and very good. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and both my son and I LOVED them. They were breaded and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the pick two (salad and 1/2 blt) and a side of fried okra. The pick two lunch portion is more than enough! The salad was fresh, the vinaigrette complimented the components perfectly. The BLT was a little over toasted and could have used a smidge more mayo (I like a good amount). My son had the kids cheeseburger with fries and strawberries. He. Ate. It. All. Not awful, really not bad, but the menu is like whitebread yawnpalooza to me. When I eat at Cheddars, Applebees, or hell yes Chubby's, I salivate before even ordering. In each of those places, you have a shot at ecstasy even when ordering vegetables (that's Chubby's), much less ribs and wings and obscene burgers and gyros and Monte Christos and other cool stuff. But this place - chicken fried, salads, fish ... it just seems so whitebread. And, you better believe it, people are lined up almost out the door. People, huh? To be fair service was quite competent (more than just our waiter - everyone was impressive), staff is plentiful, fast, and each conveyed convincing concern in performing well and making customers happy. Food order was accurate, no scrimping on quantities, and bread and water kept coming. To review one specific item, I had the Strawberry/pecan/chicken salad with raspberry vinagrette. The strawberry slices were nice, the chicken was nice, the pecans were tasty; but the combination just didn't work, at least with the greens they use. Not tragic; just disappointing. There's nothing wrong with this place, but if I go out to eat, I want to have something interesting if not scintillating if not epiphanous. I even have a fulfilling experience each and every time I eat at the world's greatest secret, the Waffle House. These guys? Well, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. But from the number of people that I see pile in there, eat their meatloaf and leave smiling and happy - the place is going to do just fine. read more

Went here last night, the waiter was very good. The food and cook was another thing. My food was cold my wife's and grandsons was over cooked. If you go to this location ask for Bryon! He is very friendly, helpful, and gives excellent service. I stopped between meetings for a late lunch yesterday, I was on my own for my meal (I know some servers hate tables with one guest). Bryon came over immediately and took my order (I knew what I wanted). It was the end of his shift and he treated me like I customer of the day. He never rushed me, he kept my ice tea filled and we had a wonderful conversation while my food was prepared. I always enjoy the food at the Cotton Patch, however the service today was by far the best I've ever had! Placed/paid online for 2 salads. At pick up, mgr & worker couldn't find the order. They didn't try going the extra mile, except both using their Karen potty mouths. Mgr was shown an email receipt. Mgr rang it up. 15 minutes its ready, but this potty mouth didn't recall seeing email receipt & refused to see it again. Ate here twice in a month, so will combine the reviews: LUNCH: Quick service, great portions on my veggie plate, fried dill pickles were VERY good, and friend's salad looked amazing - she ate the whole thing. Waiter was very attentive. DINER: Went back because I saw the Monday night special is chicken fried chicken or chicken fried steak, a favorite of my husbands. Also apparently a favorite of almost every male in the vicinity because they were very busy. My beers were brought promptly, my husband liked his CFS, and my ribeye was ironically better than one I had recently at Saltgrass and WAY less expensive. Server was definitely having a hard time keeping up with his section, but it was obvious he was trying, and he was very friendly and gave you his undivided attention when he did get to your table. The first time we went to a Cotton Patch Cafe it was in another city and we did not have the best experience (slow service & cold food). We decided to try this location a few months later because it's only 10 minutes from our house. We had a much better experience at this location! We have been a few times now and every time we have had great service and the food is always hot. I wasn't super impressed with the turkey meal that they offer on Saturday & Sunday. The turkey was just a little bit dry, but with the gravy and mashed potatoes it was at least tasty. Last time I got a sirloin and I was very impressed with that meal! I haven't ordered in about 6 months until tonight because the last time was a disaster. Tonight I ordered tilapia to go and no one bothered to mention they are out of rice. I ordered delivery online. Other than so many great things to pick from, it was hard to narrow it down, the online ordering is easy. I ordered on a weekend night, so I knew they'd be busy. I ordered 1 dessert, 2 appetizers and 3 entrees. My food was delivered a little earlier than estimated. The delivery person followed my instructions perfectly. There's nothing wrong with Cotton Patch. I've only been to this specific one, even though I've seen others. The service is great, considering most of the servers are high school kids. The location is easy to get to, albeit the parking situation can suck during back to school or any major shopping days [can we say black friday?]. And while the food is good, it's not jaw droppingly awesome. Every time I go, I try something different. Fish. Steak, Meatloaf. Salad. Chicken. I kid you not, I've tried most -- if not all -- of the stuff on their menu. Again, it's good food. Hits the spot. Their broccoli rice casserole is yummy, and I love their garlic mashed potatoes. But it's very... mmm, bland, I guess is the word I'd use to describe it. It could have more OOMPH, y'know? So, 3/5: NEEDS MORE FLAVOR. The food and service is amazing! I went with my two little boys and they were having a rough time. They got a little rowdy but Ralene was so won and kind! She interacted and talked to them and wasn't bothered at all by my boys! She was really friendly and made my day! there was an incredibly rude old man who told me if he had kids like mine he would never leave the house! If not for Ralene and her kindness and understanding of little boys being little boys, I would have busted out in tears! I just want to say our waitress went the extra step so my son could order food. He has food allergies and most the time has to eat food we bring into places to eat. She gave me a binder with a list of the rope 8 allergys and I was able to find 2 things on the list. One they no longer had and the other cinnamon bananas they were out of but the chef said he'd be able to cut up a banana and sprinkle a little cinnamon on it for him. This made my husband and I really happy. Once my son saw the banana his face lite up. I thank both of u! By the way it was our first time at a Cotton Patch and the food was great. read more

My son and I decided on Cotton Patch Cafe for a late lunch. There was a 20-30 minute wait. We put our name on the list and went to our car to wait. I guess they were short on staff because the employees there were going nonstop. The Hostess was taking names for seating, getting to go orders, and cleaning tables. She was very friendly the entire time. I didn't get her name. We we're seated and ordered our food. I got the Chicken Fried Steak with fries and squash. The steak was ok, the fries were cold. I didn't say anything to the waiter because he was very busy. My son got a Ribeye. He said his food was good. Logan was our waiter. First of all the staff was very good tonight. BUT Cotton Patch Café recently changed their menu for the worse. The quality of the food has gone not over the hill, but off the cliff. Monday night used to be Chicken Fried Steak Night at a great price of $7.99. As an alternate if the lunch special was not sold out you could get beef tips & rice. BOTH Specials have been discontinued. Although you can get the Chicken Fried Steak at the normal price. :( Next the bread is still good, but they have changed the "butter" for something that did not taste like butter. Also the side dishes are smaller than before. I am very disappointed in the new menu. I do not think it has as many things to choose from. GO BACK TO THE OLD MENU!!! Also ordered the chicken fried chicken as "Texas Hot", but batter was not only bland, there was no heat at all. The peach cobbler tasted like it came out of the freezer, microwaved, and granulated sugar caked on top. 100% disappointment. We just ordered a $60+ dinner, complete waste of money. Ordered meatloaf and a few extras and it was SOOOOO delicious. The 1,000 island dressing was awesome, the rolls are to die for, the meatloaf was so flavorful and they had extra tomato sauce for it and my 2 sides were amazing. The website is SO user friendly - easy easy to order and lots of explanation provided - all questions answered. Payment was simple - took a new card I'd never used and food was ready when I pulled in a called them they answered quickly and were out at the car in mask - with my order and since I paid and tipped online I could simply drive off - easy, quick, delicious beyond anything I could make homemade. Ordered 15 minutes ahead for take-out and was told to expect around 20 minutes. Sounded like I had ordered just in time to walk in, wait a few minutes, and leave with my food. Wrong. After showing up, paying for my order, and accepting a beverage (thanks), I ended up waiting an additional 40 minutes to get my order. Yes, the place was busy but I guess the server on the other line should have warned of a longer wait- it may have changed my mind for dinner plans. Oh well. The food was hot and fresh when served and they remembered to add fresh rolls to the order. The menu is very standard American cuisine: steaks, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. Typically you order a plate of food and select two sides to accompany. Corn, green beans, mac n cheese, fries, mashed potatoes... they're all there. It's average tasting but priced well and served in pretty large portions so bring your appetite. There's a decent kids menu that, for like $5, you're getting a lot of food with a drink. Deserts are there too, and are run of the mill. Pies, cakes, ice creams. CPC does offer nightly specials so you can get your chicken fried steak/chicken for $8 on certain days of the week- but those seem to be busy days. Staff is usually pretty attentive and friendly on the occasions I've done the sit down thing. Coke products, they do have a full bar so you can get turnt while indulging in your favorite fried food. There are TVs near the bar area but are nearly impossible to see from the dining section. I would say the place, when busy, is quite noisy making it sometimes difficult to have a conversation with your party. read more
