I tried the chagaccino and really enjoyed it! The sweetness was just right -- perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I'd definitely recommend giving this drink a try if you're curious. It gave me a nice energy boost that lasted a while!

If you've been craving the apple brown sugar latte from Starbucks, get the apple latte from Covenant! The apple taste is subtle, not too strong. We came in at 7am and was greeted very kindly by the staff. They helped us find a drink that we wanted. It's super cute in here and this is definitely a good study spot! It looks like there are plenty of seating and outlets here.

Firdt time in this location with new owners. Still Great coffee in a comfortable place while waiting for an appointment or waiting on someone in the business building. Small outside patio for fall days. Parking is in a free lot that is often full so it can be tricky.

My best friend and I met up for breakfast at Cloud 9 by Covenant Coffee today. This is her favorite spot to order matcha lattes and I can totally see why! The matcha latte was rich in flavor and its taste wasn't outshined by sugar. Bestie recommends subbing in oat milk and adding sweet cream if you prefer it on the sweeter side though. We both ordered avocado toast and it was very yummy! It was toasted sourdough topped with avocado, marinated artichokes, olives, red onions, cheese, a hefty amount of arugula and balsamic glaze. It was crunchy, vinegary, and fresh. The service was very friendly and the aesthetic is so cozy. The vibes in this cafe are unmatched. It's so pretty in here!

I can not express how happy and excited I am that covenant coffee's second location is now closer to me. Although their first location was far I would still make the drive because I'm loyal to some good coffee. The bones of cloud 9 are still here so it's still very cute and comfortable. The device was quick and friendly snd the breakfast burrito still one of the best.

Latte & scone to go with

I walked in on a calm Tuesday and the shop was not very crowded. I ordered a seasonal vanilla lavender latte and a blueberry lemon scone. The baristas had my order out quickly and I sat and enjoyed the beautiful interior of the coffee shop. The latte was not overwhelmingly sweet which I appreciate and the scone was very sweet which I also appreciate lol. For me coffee should be less sweet and pastries very sweet and that's the combo i had. Covenant coffee is still making delicious seasonal drinks and offering yummy food. I do miss the cutesy gift wall but I understand it's a new era, I'll be back!

update december 2025: this use to be my favorite coffee place but every thing had gone downhill, from the service to the coffee. i use to love all the mini parties they had, but the vibe has not been the same since the new change in management. it doesn't even feel like the same coffee place anymore.

Coffee Shop No. 434 Cloud 9 by Covenant Coffee Bakersfield, CA October 12, 2024 Cloud 9 by Covenant Coffee was recommended by one of my childhood friends and the baristas at Beanies Coffee Roasters and Covenant Coffee. The cafe is located in the lower level of the...I think it's the Wells Fargo Bank. I honestly don't know the name of the building, but if you are searching for Cloud 9 and you find yourself in what feels like a random parking lot you might just be in the right place. My youngest son thought for sure we were lost, but he has one determined Mom espressolly when it comes to finding coffee shops. After parking you'll have to walk through a beautiful lobby and question whether you were appropriately dressed. It's a stunning lobby. Walking through Cloud 9's door is exhilarating. You can't help but feel happy when you enter. The baristas are very friendly. The ceilings are high and accentuates the natural light which floods the cafe. The decor is calming and peaceful. The seating is plentiful and inviting making it a perfect place to chat with friends or work on a project. And they serve Covenant Coffee beans which happens to be a pretty fabulous bean! I definitely enjoyed my cortado. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

What a beautiful hidden gem! I immediately fell in love with this place. Definitely worthy of 5 stars! The coffee is delicious, service is excellent and the ambiance is cozy! I'll definitely attach photos, but do yourself a favor and go there yourself. Feels like you're outta town and in a beautiful building!

Located on the lobby level of an office building, Cloud 9 has adorable decor and a minimalist chic space to gather or work. The interior is beautiful and there are many cozy and clean spots to sit. You can also browse their selection of goods (think: rifle paper company and holiday goods). Unfortunately, I ordered the matcha latte and it was not good. The matcha latte was extremely chalky and watery tasting. I would not return for it. You may be better off if you choose a coffee option instead!

Awesome little spot. Great service and atmosphere. Coffee tasted great, not over roasted or under extracted. I'd definitely return in the future. Spot is tucked away at the bottom level of a business building, but it's worth the hunt.

The best coffee in town. Cute spot and very friendly staff. I've never tried the pastries, but they look tasty.

Will the online ordering feature ever be available again? I'm consistently getting a 404 error when I attempt to order online. Kind of disappointed since I have a busy schedule and can no longer pre-order for myself or for my team.

Is your place generally pretty quiet, have light music and noise, have upbeat music? I need to meet a friend who has a hearing device and he can't have a lot of background noise

Yes! quiet and peaceful with some light background music

Do you serve decaf?

Yes we do!

Hi there, Do you still have your mobile coffee truck? If so, is it available to rent for events?

Unfortunately, we no longer have our truck :( We are able to cater with drip coffee or cold brew…

Do they serve matcha lattes?

Yep! We can make them hot or iced, with the milk of your choosing :)

Do they serve oat milk as a milk alternative?

Update: we have oat milk! We now offer almond and oat for our dairy-free options :)

The biscuits were soft and delicious, and even my husband enjoyed them too. I also had the California omelette with hash browns, and everything tasted really good. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, with a relaxed, classic diner feel that makes it a nice spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. The only downside was the service. Our waitress was super nice, but follow-up took a bit long, and waiting to cash out also took some time. With a little improvement there, the experience would be even better.

The restaurant has an open kitchen concept, which we were actually excited about since you can see everything being prepared. Unfortunately, that's where things went wrong. We were seated right in front of the kitchen, and my wife began noticing some concerning food safety issues from one of the cooks. She observed him handling ready to eat, cooked food with his bare hands, including picking up avocado from her California omelette so another cook could add cheese underneath. Shortly after, she saw him rub his nose and continue working without washing his hands. The final straw was watching him grab a pinch of scrambled eggs from a plate on the hot line and eat it with his fingers. At that point, we were completely turned off. We had already placed our order, but there was no way we were going to eat after seeing that. My wife went to the counter and let the server know what she had witnessed, and we left. It's disappointing because the menu looked great and we were really looking forward to trying this place. I'm not sure how this behavior isn't being noticed or addressed by other staff, but based on what we saw, it didn't seem like a one-time thing. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews their cameras, and reinforces proper food safety standards.

Our waitress was very sweet and friendly, but it seemed like she could use a little more training or help staying organized. We waited quite a while just to place our order. The vibes in the new space are absolutely immaculate. There is so much more energy here, and the decorations are incredibly cute. It's the perfect backdrop for a killer meal. The Main Event: This time around, I went with the En Fuego Burger. This beast is loaded with a chile-spiced beef patty, pepperjack, sharp cheddar, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo, pepper relish, pickled jalapeños, and a mountain of fried jalapeños + onion strings. The Flavor Profile: This burger delivers on every level, but those fried onion strings were to die for. For the side, I got the sweet potato fries, which are served as big, thick-cut wedges. They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.

Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the variety made it fun to share and try different combinations. Service was quick and friendly. The ambiance is a cute cafe vibe. SMITTENS STAPLE IS THEIR ABILITY TO MISS THE FLAVOR IN EVER SINGLE DISH…read more Update: coming back after some palate development... smitten is one of the most tasteless restaurants in town. Their hype was definitely due to the 'aesthetic'. Nothing is really outstanding to me. The drinks are such a let down, the coffee is borderline yuck.. do not recommend. Everything is quite unmemorable. Service is whatever, sometimes mid, sometimes bad. Nothing outstanding. Ambiance.... well... this one has been replicated one too many times. The food is heavily missing flavor, the hummus is disgusting. I can't believe they call that thing hummus, it's an insult to actual dish.. it's almost like it was trying to imitate the real dish, but failed terribly in even attempting to. Their pizza tasted like play-doh and looked very pale. Smitten is at least consistent with one thing, which is their staple: no flavor. One of the breaking points for me was being served food that had someone's HAIR. The restaurant is very expensive for the poor experience they have to offer. I stopped recommending them a long time ago.
