I thought this place was closed from the outside. There was a large party, but other than that, it was basically empty. My family ordered the cajun style of all kinds of seafoods (shrimp, clams, mussels, etc), sausages, corn and potatoes. The seasoning was little too salty for our family, so the sausages soaked all the sauce and tasted too salty. We had to order some garlic bread to cover the saltiness. All of the seafood is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. This time around I got the snow crab. They prepare you well with crackers, bibs, and gloves. Put it all on! You're about to make a delicious mess. They also provide a bag of fresh lemons that you can mix into their lemon pepper to make an amazing dipping sauce for the crab. The food here is fantastic, I've been there 3 times, had the crab and crayfish, the Cajun seasoning they used tasted great and the medium spicy level was perfect. Spicy enough to feel the heat and not to much to regret it later. I've also had the shrimp Alfredo which was recommended to me and it was also delicious. The lobster ravioli was delicious as well and when I order some sake, which I definitely recommend, they gave me a half bottle, when I pointed this out they only charged me half for it. Came here for a friend's birthday. We had initially planned on going to Boiling Crab, but with their lack of reservations and notoriously long wait times, we found this place as an alternative! And most importantly, we were able to make a reservation. The place is decently spacious and decorated very kitschy, a low-key sit-down restaurant. Service was a little slow in the beginning--there was some confusion about our reservation and we had to wait a little while after we were seated, but it was totally fine after that and everyone was very friendly. For appetizers we had, among other things, the mixed plate fried seafood platter and garlic bread. The seafood platter was fine--nothing to write home about, but the garlic bread was pretty good. But obviously, everyone's here for the seafood. Most of us got things from the "Cajun Style Menu" which covers the seafood boil options, and got a pound of easy peel shrimp with corn and potatoes at medium spice with the Crab Avenue Special Cajun Butter Mix, with one of us getting the snow crab legs. You can't do half pounds unfortunately, so it will be a lot of food. Others at our table got the lobster tail and the Jambalaya. Those of us who got the seafood boils really enjoyed it. Medium spice has a nice kick that will clear out your sinuses, but it's not overly hot. Our friends who got the lobster tail and the Jambalaya said they were only just OK. We also got the molten lava cake to celebrate our birthday friend, which was pretty good. Prices were very reasonable, and honestly probably cheaper than a lot of their competitors. Better than any other boiled seafood I've been too!! Don't want to mention other business names but this is top tier. Their sauce is just bomb dot com! (do people still say this? Haha) We ordered whole shrimp with their crab Avenue sauce and it's so bleeping good. Their clam chowder is chefs kiss! French fries, fried calamari, sweet potato fries also hit the spot! The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the garlic noodles, but that's because I'm not a basil fan and they add basil to it. Parking is super easy and free. They have a huge lot! I've been to this place about 20 times and food is good. This review is about my Grubhub pick up today. I scheduled an 11:30 am pick up which the app allowed me to do. I arrive around 11:40 and the owner says they are still closed and that I have to wait because they open at 12 and needed time to cook. He even tells me to blame Grubhub and was very rude. I contact Grubhub and they said that their advertised opening time is 11:30 and told me to talk to the owner to change that. Both wouldn't take responsibility.
