I haven't really explored much of Glendale, but we visited for a birthday party to Crab Avenue. I think we went on a weekend night, but it didn't seem to be too busy. I'm not sure if this restaurant took over a completely different restaurant previously, but the tables/chairs do not really reflect what I would imagine a 'Boiling Crab'-esque place to have. Parking: Ample; huge parking lot Service: Service was actually really fast and efficient. They take the orders with their mini ipad devices so the order goes through quickly. They were attentive on our drinks and refills. Food: Everything was overly seasoned and salty. The cajun seasoning of what I am used to was not what was reflected in the food so I was a bit disappointed. Needless to say that I did not take home my leftovers. Our family loves coming to Crab Ave. Whether it be a random dinner out or a celebration with family. We love coming here because not only is the food and service great, but we love our friend, Alex! It was a pretty good first experience. I should have had something different, but I was being boring and had grilled chicken with fries and corn. I should have ordered something with a little more flavor, like the seafood. My chicken was very good though, nice and tender. Our waiter was very friendly. He checked back with us often and filled our waters several times. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive after we ordered. I'll definitely have to come back and be more exciting next time. She proceeds to seat a party of four, while completely overlooking me, mind you! After that little hellish ordeal, I was finally seated. On the patio, I noticed there were heaters for every table but mine, and it was very chilly! To start with, I had a dozen oysters(raw), which were flavorless at best! Next, I decided to try the mixed seafood basket, which had some fried goodies. It was o...Kay! I decided to go with Surf & Turf for the main course, and why with a "so-called," 10 oz T-Bone Steak and Lobster Tail. I had their garlic noodles and garlic bread as the side dish to my entree. The steak was perfectly cooked but, unseasoned, and atrociously thin! For a ten ounce steak, I expected some thickness. Onto the lobster tail which was overcooked, and under seasoned. Meh! I am in town for the first time in six years and I was craving some seafood. Usually I am one to go to San Pedro for seafood but my hotel is next door so I can't complain. I really hate to give a bad review because I love to support local business. So I write this to urge them to improve. These guys are having some problems with timing, which is really important with crab. I was told the crab would be ready in a half hour. When I got there, a half hour later, there was an upset man manning the phones, another guy running around here and there and once in a while another guy would stuck his head out of the kitchen. There were no customers and yet no one acknowledged me. Was my crab sitting somewhere, already cooked? Finally after 20 minutes they asked what my name was and I told them and they all got in a little fight in another language (maybe Armenian?). My crab emerged from the kitchen 6 minutes later and I immediately ate it. This place specializes in spicy crab, but I wanted to see how their plain crab game was so I selected the option with the least adornment; butter and garlic. It was over $40. It was okay. They didnt use fresh garlic, which, why?? It tasted like that pre-minced garlic you buy at costco. If you are dealing with something as precious and expensive as snow crab, why save a few pennies on garlic? The crab was a little over-cooked. Not bad but not great. The butter was plentiful and fine. My advice is to smash and chop fresh garlic to order, or no more than an hour ahead. It's worth it. It was also too salty. Less is more with crab. read more

To date, I've yet to have Boiling Crab and still haven't had the type of seafood that gets buttered up in a plastic bag with seasoning filled with shrimp, crawfish, crab and the likes. Crab Boil Ave is a similar restaurant that served up seafood this way. I didn't order that at Crab Broil Ave for some reason. Instead, I ordered from their regular entrée menu. The tilapia with steamed veggies and fries. We also ordered the salmon with cole slaw and Cesar salad. You can get your fish grilled with garlic butter or Cajun. Got mine with garlic butter. Overall, the both entrees were grilled perfectly. Not overcooked. The fries were nice and crispy but the veggies a bit overcooked. For dessert, we had a coconut ice cream with a mango sorbet inside and a strawberry drizzle on top. Pretty good. Service here was attentive and friendly. The prices here are pretty reasonable and it wasn't too busy on the weekend. read more

The Cajun King Crab was absolutely phenomenal. They provide you with scissors and all the necessary tools for you to enjoy your shelled seafood. I also ordered the easy peel shrimp, Jambalaya, and some appetizers. The onion rings were pretty worthwhile, Jambalaya would be. 5/10 at best, and the shrimp with sausage added into bag would be a 7/10. Perhaps if I got Cajun seasoning on the shrimp bag as well it would have been more appealing to my palette but being a girl who normally cleans her plate I had taken probably half the bag home with me. The service was great, the girl who waited on us was absolutely delightful. Very sweet and patient. And overall we definitely enjoyed our experience here. I would recommend this place over boiling crab because of the distance of travel and also the wait time. We were seated within minutes and our server took our order without hesitation. Visited 9/24/2016 Purchased a Groupon for brunch. We went on a Saturday. Arrived around 10:30. They weren't busy. Large free private parking lot. The interior looked inviting. Many areas to sit. We chose to sit outside because it was freezing inside. The outside seating area was nice. There are umbrellas there which our waiter kindly situated for us to protect us from the sun and heat. Our waiter was extremely nice and patient with us. We had a hard time deciding what to order. We finally decided upon the omelets. I ordered the one with crab. The presentation was nice. It tasted as good as it looked. Very filling. It came with a side of fruit and salad. My daughter had her omelet made to order (spinach, crab, mushroom). She had a side of Cajon potatoes which were quite tasty and a biscuit which also tasted good. I never had to ask for water because our waiter made a point of refilling our glasses often. Groupon was having an additional 20% off special on local deals so I started browsing and I saw this place as one of the selections. I decided to give it a try. Armed with my $20 worth of Groupon which I paid only $9.60 after additional discount, I went here with my foodie buddy. The place looked familiar to me and I remembered many, many years ago that I attended a birthday party when this used to be a buffet restaurant. They have a huge free private parking which is a plus. The place is equally huge with a second floor for private parties. The decor has a nautical theme with crustaceans, ropes, oars, anchors on walls and big barrells on the floor. I wonder for a second where was Captain Hook. We were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the crab benedict which is two poached eggs with crab meat on an English muffin with Creole hollandaise priced at $13.95. My friend ordered the crab and shrimp delight which is a three egg omelette with crab, shrimp, bell pepper, mushroom, onion, and mozzarella cheese priced at $14.95. Both of them come with two sides so we chose side salad, mashed potatoes, cajun potatoes, and fruits. Too late to find out that they have big servings. Otherwise, we will just share but hold that thought again....we really liked the food so we ended up finishing our meals anyways. Service is good although our server talks in a fake high pitch voice that I initially ignored but turned out to be annoying after a few times he checked on us on how we're doing with our meal. He was really nice and would be the perfect server if not for that high pitch voice. Our tab with a cup of coffee came up only $9.50 after Groupon. With or without Groupon, we are planning to drop by again to try the Catch Station. read more

We went to Crab Avenue after a full day of activities in Hollywood and Rodeo Drive. Our party of 9 was promptly sat and service ran quickly. The menus offers many food options, including but not limited to seafood. I, being a person who doesn't eat shell fish, got the Steak So-Cal Plate. It was amazing. It was like a seafood boil... minus the seafood, on a plate. Everything was well seasoned and amazing. Everyone else got some variation of seafood, pasta or surf and turf and we all admitted it was amazing. Definitely a place to go again if we ever visit the area again. read more
