Only downfall was the shrimp I got for an appetizer was raw in the middle but I'm sure it was a rare occurrence I hope. Other than that everybody seemed to be happy with things. First time here! A local OC Police Officer recommended this place. I have been coming to OC since I was 14YO, but haven't been in a few years because sometimes life events gets in the way, With that said. The Crab Bag gets its name from the way the crabs are delivered to the table, neat idea! We had a party of 5 and did not wait to be seated at 6:00PM. It is slowing down here in OC since a number of schools have started back. Now for the food, kids ordered the Mac and Cheese, plus the hush puppies. All very good. Other people ordered crab cakes, fried shrimp and shrimp/Chicken fajitas with Old Bay on them. Service was good and the waiter kept the glasses full. My only issue was they charged extra for lettuce, tomato and cheese for the fajitas. Not sure why that is extra, in 99.99% of other places it is included. I would recommend this place. This place is the best place in my opinion to get crabs in Ocean City, MD! We got a dozen XL crabs to share and they were really good. Sweet meat and heavy. We always ask to see the size difference before ordering to see if it's worth the extra money for the larger crabs. We usually compare between the Large and XL crabs. The hush puppy's are yummy and the corn on the cob comes out in the husk, the steamed shrimp was good. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because their menu is overwhelming. So sad. This place was always our favorite for the past 15 years. Last couple of times, the crabs have been mediocre at best. We even bought by the dozen hoping they'd be better. They were worse. For $109 a dozen you'd expect them to have a little weight to them and all their legs. Five of the 12 were missing claws. The prices have gone way up and the fries are no longer fresh cut. Now they give you some monkey bread instead of cole slaw with the all you can eat. It's horrible. We need to find a new favorite. Meh. I want to give a 3.5 star rating but can't so chose to round up. The crab cakes are AMAZING for sure, but the portion size of the sides compared to what you pay for a full platter is disappointing. My husband and I ordered take-out on a recommendation while visiting OC for the weekend. We both ordered the Crab Cake Dinner Platter with 2 sides (approx $25 each). The crab cake itself was probably worth $10-15 of that, but our sides were small in comparison and left us wondering why we paid so much for so little. Even though it was cold outside, we sat outdoors on the few tables they had. They had a fire going and 2 heat lamps. It was delightful. They have a smaller menu than last year. The menu is huge. So much I had a hard time choosing. The food was fantastic. I loved it. I did not have the all you can eat crabs, rather, I ordered from the menu. But I did check on the price of the all you can eat crabs and I thought it was better than anywhere in the area. We were seated quickly and I loved the relaxed atmosphere. It has a Caribbean feel. The prices are also very reasonable for the regular menu. I give this four stars instead of five because the service was not very good. This is probably not the case in general, but my server took forever to get our order, never checked on us once our food was delivered, and then was in a rush to get us to pay the bill. At a time we're trying to help local businesses around here, it was really disappointing that we spent $100 the other night for 4 halfway decent crabs out of a dozen. 6 of them were light as a feather, complete paper shells, 2 were just outright bad inside and the other 4 were actually really good even though they were definitely small to be called "larges". This has happened twice before, but Crab Alley & Crabs Togo were sold out, so we figured we'd give them one more try. Please take note Crab Bag & maybe start weighing your togo crabs. I usually love this place, but my last experience made me not want to come back. Every server I've had before was excellent, but this one was just consistently rude and it impacted our experience. We have loved Crab Bag for years! Especially their char grilled oysters. Yesterday we decided to go for lunch. There were 16 in our party. The first thing the waitress told us was they were out of macaroni and cheese, wings and the char grilled oysters. We should have left.... Our party had one person who thought the food was ok. The rest was mediocre. One person ordered oysters they came out well after everyone else got their meals. They were on half shell-- they came out in puddles of melted ice. Others were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. Like a bowl of MD crab soup---for $12.95. It had very little crab meat and was tomato sauce soup base. Came here with a mask on during the pandemic to support local business. I worked on the beach for 5 years. Then when I was asked to order a drink they would not allow me to order a drink because my ID was expired. My ID was expired on my 31st birthday about 15 days before i came in. Mind you, covid has not made the MVA available to people. When the manager came he said "Maryland will not allow it" but i know TSA allows it and its perfectly legal for 1 year from expired date.
