I really enjoyed Crab Bag. It was $40 for unlimited crabs, fries, and corn. The crabs were excellent quality and tasted incredible. I actually really liked the fries as well, even though I didn't have too many. The crabs were a good size and the seasoning was done right. This is the worst dining experience that I have had in a very long time. Terrible service, high prices, sold out of most menu items, and below-average food. I went with a group of six other people around 8 pm on a Thursday night. We were seated immediately, as the restaurant was far from packed. After taking our drink orders, our waitress let us know that her shift had ended, and that someone else would be taking over. At this point, the new waiter took our order, only for us to find out that the Crab Bag was sold out of most of what we wanted to order (all clams and grilled oysters). Instead, we ordered Oysters Casino, sweet potato fries, sweet and spicy shrimp, and onion rings. It took an eternity (almost an hour) for the food to come out. By the time we saw our waiter return, the entire group was grumpy, annoyed with the overly-loud music, and tempted to just get up and leave. Immediately, we realized that our waiter got our order wrong. He did not bring Oysters Casino, instead he brought raw oysters. When we pointed this out to him, he did not make any effort to fix the order (although he didn't charge us for the oysters). The raw oysters were very large, only one person even wanted to try one. It was not up to snuff. The rest of the order was fine, but not anything that I would order again. It took another 45 minutes to track down our waiter to pay the bill and leave. Everytime I come here the service is great the beer is cold and the crabs are delicious. This business is very busy, especially in the heat of summer. The best time to go is 3pm for a late lunch, or 1am, there will be no crowd at these times. When it's 6pm the service is naturally much slower. Would have been a 4-5 star review but when I got the check there was a 2% surcharge. I asked what that was and I was told it was for "fluctuations in food prices". What the hell is that bs?! Change the menu prices or apply it to the crab prices when you tell me how much a dozen is! Update: Came back again for another try. 06/2017. Last time I ordered large by dozen and they were awesome. This time I got the feast ($45 +2% surcharge) and the crabs were average. The meat seemed dried out as if they were cooked in a huge batch and left sitting for the AYCE people. The ribs/wing from the feast were average and I wouldn't recommend it despite being only $2 more. I still despise the 2% fee... We came across this place driving one night. It was super busy and people waiting in the parking lot. Upon arriving, we were sat down pretty fast since we were a party of 3. We decided to sit inside (there was a storm rolling in soon) and it was a bit crowded. There's no breathing space between the tables. They have the regular menu choices and then they have the AYCE choices. This was our last night here and we were pretty much crab out. So we stuck to the menu choices. We ordered a steam pot for the 2 adults and a kids menu item for the kiddo. The crab takes awhile to steam so be ready to wait about 20-40 minutes for your crabs. It's family friendly. It's a loud environment being that they have a bar and TVs. And be ready to cough up an arm or 2 cause it's pretty pricey. If you have a larger party, you're probably gonna have to wait a bit. Everything was good. I think everything came out in a timely manner. You can't expect quick service from a place that has every seat filled and delicious steamed crabs. I would recommend this. Very disappointed with the crab bag. We went on a Wednesday night, had extremely poor service. To my further disappointment the manager could have cared less. We waited an hour and a half for our food and when it came, the orders were wrong. We waited longer for silverware, by then our wrong orders were cold. we've been there 2 hrs for our food after waiting an hour for our table. (3 hours by now). We all have off nights but this night was beyond awful. When our bill came. The crabs that the waiter said were complimentary were charged to us. It was our first vacation to Ocean City Maryland and we were a little overwhelmed by the amount of "crabshacks" there are. I had a bad experience last night. I ordered my food and waited patiently while other guests who were seated later than me we're getting their food. It was getting to be close to a hour when I ordered my food.I asked for the manager. Exactly 30 seconds before the manager arrived the food came out. I told him that I was unhappy with the wait and the first thing he says is "do you still want the food". I told him how long I waited and he said it wasn't an hour yet. There are still 5 minutes left. No apology or even a comp. all he said was I can give you a refund. I left the food after he refunded my money. Very unhappy with his attitude. I'm not from Maryland so I did not grow up eating crabs but I thought these were pretty good! We came here with a group of 7 towards the end of the season in September and sat out in the back at a long picnic table. Having ordered some fries, crab dip, and two dozen crabs for our group everyone had 3 or 4 large crabs which was plenty. It's definitely not worth it to get the all you can eat deal. The crabs are smaller when you do that and you get pretty tired of breaking open small crabs after so long. The ones we got were covered in Old Bay and steaming hot when they came out, they were delicious! And the pitchers of Natty Boh were super cheap. My only qualm was that it was late when we got there, after 8pm, and it was a little too dark in the back. When we went to eat our crabs, it was really hard to see what we were doing! And trust me if you're not an expert it can be a bit challenging. Anyway, I will definitely will be back here in the future! So yummy!! read more

We came in for a nice crab dinner on a Friday night around 7pm. We had no wait! This was totally unexpected but We ordered a round of beers, hush puppies, a large burger and a dozen of the xl crabs. Went here on a Facebook recommendation. One of the worst crab experiences I've had. Server was not helpful at all. The few things we needed assistance with he acted like was moving mountains. He told us we needed to change our seating arrangement bc we were not all eating crabs. Basically wanted to split our family with two small children just to make it easier for him. My finance and I went last night and the host was honestly not very friendly but we thought maybe it was late and they were getting ready to close. We asked and she said they were open another 3 hours. Then she sat us in the indoor part where there was a huge party and kids screaming and playing with balls. Our server saved the DAY. My experience was terrible. Old rotten tea, the crab dip appetizer was mush the flavor was ok but no lump crab, pit beef was bland no flavor, crab imperial was dry, fries were old and reheated to a stale perfection, crab cake had no sign of lump meat, on top of all of that they charge $4 extra for a skewer of vegetables that taste exactly like charcoal. Gave it two stars because the food was (eventually) good. Sat at the bar and ordered a steamer pot. When we received the order none of the clams had opened and all but two or three of the mussels hadn't opened (the shrimp and crab legs were ok). So the shellfish were dead prior to steaming or they weren't steamed long enough. Asked the bar maid if this was ok and she said that it happens sometimes and they should be ok but if we wanted fresh she could get them. Asked if I wanted a manager and I said yes. Eventually someone came up behind us, started to talk with us then said "oh they can handle this here" and scampered off. The bar man came over, who was our main server and very nice and asked if we wanted fresh. I said yes and asked if he understood why and he answered that he did not., which was at least an honest answer. The replacement steamers were fine. After the meal we went looking for the manager. Not to complain but to let him know that the staff needed help understanding how to identify undercooked/expired seafood and what it does to your digestive system. Ended up talking to a different person than the one who came to the bar earlier. He nodded in all the right places and we thought he was on board, until a man with a dog passed by on the patio. The manager turned his back on me as I was mid-sentence, said "is he yours? I want him!" And pet the dog for a while as I stood there waiting to finish. Here is my takeaway: -The wait staff, especially the male bar man, were helpful. -The wait staff did not understand the problem with the shell fish. This IS NOT their fault, it is a training issue that needs fixed. Just like a raw steak, bad seafood will hurt you! -The manager is an idiot. He needs training in customer service - start by training him not to turn his back on a customer, and finish by having him show appropriate concern about bad food -Make sure the staff understands that not everyone is transient here. My sister owns four properties in Ocean City, and enjoys letting her tenets and other owners' tenants know where to eat. Got seated right away for a party of 7 it was very suprising. They took our order and it took forever to come out. And things came out cold and wrong we were missing sides. This is probably one of the best seafood places in OC. But it can be hit or miss. We've had good and bad experiences here with regard to long wait times to get a table, and the food not arriving at the table for everyone at the same time especially if you have a big group. It's a bit pricey and it appears to have surcharges added on the check that have something to do with seafood prices?? People who work here are friendly and good at what they do.
