It was a Tuesday night, not super busy, so we got seated pretty quickly. We were sitting at the table for 15 minutes before a waitress finally notices that we haven't been helped yet. We asked her if the platters were big enough for two people to share and she said "definitely not" so we each got our own and after we were full we still had a lot of food left. (You can definitely split a platter between two people). After we were finished eating the waitress brought us our checks and then we waited 20 minutes for her to come pick up the checks and she never did. We got tired of waiting and tried to pay at the front desk but they sent us upstairs AGAIN to pay where we waited an additional 10 minutes before we could finally pay and leave. I would like to speak on a situation that occurred here on Saturday night. My husband and I put our names in for a table and were told it would be an hour wait so we decided to grab a drink at the upstairs deck bar. We found seats and for a good 10+ minutes watched the bartenders walk past us without so much as greeting us or acknowledging our presence. I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 years and understand things can get hectic, but as a bartender you should always greet your guests, if not only to tell them that you will attend to them soon. Finally we flagged him down after watching him serve everyone else around us with ease. He took our drink order with an attitude and then proceeded to not make our drinks, yet make the drinks of people all around us, including those that had just approached the bars. After another 15 minutes went by with no attempt at service it was blatantly obvious why our drinks were not being made. My husband was the only black man at the bar. At this point we went downstairs and spoke to a manager who made the comment this particular bartender has been "warned before" of his behavior. So basically, this restaurant allows an openly racist and rude bartender to interact with guests. The manager was wonderful, apologetic and immediately seated us and bought us a round to rectify the situation. However, someone like this should not be allowed in the industry, where customer service is based on respect for your guests. We had a great weekend, but the feeling left from this encounter will certainly linger long past our time here. read more

The food was great. My server was so good because I never had Crabs before and she gave me a great lesson on how to eat them. The crabs were to die for. The oysters were fresh and no fishy smell. Went there 11pm because the Yelp says they are open until 2am. Me & my wife went there with the intention to drink & get seafood. Despite the reviews & the low rating we decided to give it a chance. We arrived & we're sitted upstairs. Immediately the staff upstairs made us feel like we ruined their night. 4 staff members sat there with a look of disgust on their faces. NONE of them spoke except for the guy who said "man, upstairs is supposed to be closed". Ok that's real professional. We sat there for about 5-7min waiting for service while they sat at the other end of bar showing each other pictures of themselves. FINALLY someone walks in & acknowledged us with a hi & I thought well here's a nice person-NOPE. After saying hi she went on to yuck it up with the rest of the gang. My wife says we're ready to order. I get a beer, my wife gets a cocktail. The drink tasted like juice. My wife asked was there any alcohol in it & she replies "yeah it's just a good mix" & walked off-OK. Then a guy comes in sits at the bar & her whole face lights up. We watched her pour him a drink with like an 8 count seriously & he didn't pay. We know because we got there before him & he left before us with a free drink & a free meal & better customer service. O but wait it's gets better. He was actually an off duty worker. She didn't bring us any water which I thought you get automatically at EVERY restaurant in America. The food was actually good, alil overpriced but good. We went there to spend $ on drinks but when we paid $7 for juice & received it from a staff who was too busy sitting down entertaining themselves, we decided it wasn't worth it. I am a current GM of a restaurant & I would honestly discipline my staff for service like that. That type of service cost the the business $ & their reputation. And on the way out again No one said bye, have a nice night, thank you. To sum it up, decent food, HORRIBLE service. $55 for 6 oysters, 1 steamed pot, 1 draft beer, 1 cocktail "juice" & A WHOLE LOT OF RUDENESS. It's a 1 & done for me. Crab house and sports bar combo. We had a great waitress, who seemed to have perfect timing. But that's all we can say about this place. The hot crab dip we had for an appetizer was runny, and although it had crab flavor, there was no crab meat in it. The shrimp poor boy was smeared with some sort of mayonnaise on the roll. We bought the med-lg to lg half bushel for carryout. These crabs were awesome. We get crabs a lot at home and when we're down the ocean. Crab Bag is not cheap, but they are worth every penny. Really enjoyed it. My wife and I went for the all you can eat crabs and I ate a boatload. Yummy crabs, but prepare to get messy. We ate outside which was nice--better than inside IMO. The Crab Bag is by far the best place I've been to in Ocean City for great food, drinks, and atmosphere. 1) Customer Service: Every time I went there, no matter what time of day, there staff was very friendly and attentive. 2) Food: BEST OYSTERS, CRABS, SHRIMPS, CHICKEN WINGS, BURGERS, MAC&CHEESE, CORNBREAD in Oceanl City! Not only is the food fresh and great, but with the huge variety on their menu, you can bring the whole family to this place, regardless of what they like to eat. 3) Drinks: Beers, Orange Crushes, etc. = awesome 4) Happy Hour: 11AM to 2AM (i.e. $1.50 beers), and half off of good appetizers.....can't beat this! I recently visited Crab Bag Restaurant (We have often done carryout, and LOVE it) for the first time with my Aunt and Uncle who are frequent visitors. I have to say I was not impressed at all. It took 45 minutes for us to get our food, and 4 out of 6 entrees were not warm. Our server was very inattentive, leaving glasses empty most of lunch. John, one of the managers visited our table and I was appalled at his interaction with us. My Uncle said, "We are regulars here, and have always had a good experience." John's response, "Really?!?!?! Because I have never seen you here before." I couldn't believe that he would be so rude to a customer. After seeing how rude John was to my Uncle, I will never visit this restaurant again. read more

Very pleased. Prices are above average but we weren't disappointed. Nothing bad, great service. 10.00 less on the AYCE meals and I would have given 5 stars. Decent crabs considering it may be a bit early in the season. But then we are local to southern Delaware, and privileged to know all the hot spots. If you can't find something you like on their menu, then it's your fault. They have everything you can think of and all of it is delicious. The crabs are always great. Sometimes it tends to get a little cramped in there, but its no big deal if you don't mind that sort of thing. Oh, and there is happy hour all day--you can't beat that! I used to love this place. We went every day of our summer vacation the past three summers. Before going back, last week, we called and asked if they had the same specials or if the menu had changed. They purposedly stayed very vague and elusive. We asked precisely what specials and what dishes we were looking for, and they said they were still carrying them. When we went, the entire menu had changed, and of course, the prices had increased. The delicious and cheap specials of our past summers were gone, only the 1/2 pound of Old Bay shrimp remained. They were still very good, but we were disappointed. Also, when we asked what type of beer the pitcher on special was, the waitress said "Nantibo, it's from Maryland". We ordered it, thinking it would be a new micro-brewery we did not know about. When it came, it was horrendous: it actually was National Bohemian, a very cheap and crappy industrial beer. On top of everything, the employees were not very nice, and the bathrooms were in a very bad shape. To summarize: this used to be one of our favorites spots, it has changed a lot and only for the worse, and we will not go back. read more

Solid Crab House, good diverse menu, we had stellar service and great outdoor deck seating. I will be back.

This place was recommended to us by the hotel staff. There was parking in both the front and back of the building. Also, they have both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu was extensive with lots of different options. Keep in mind there is a 2% surcharge on your total bill. We stared with the spiced shrimp. It tasted good and the shrimp was large. Then, we got the works fajita which was perfectly seasoned and had lots of large seafood in it. The mahi mahi dinner also tasted good, but it was just a bit overdone. This establishment is unapologetically racist and I would strongly suggest NOT spending a penny here. My family of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) attended this restaurant during Memorial Day Weekend (May 26, 2018) after reading raving Yelp reviews and looking through the menu options. However, upon check in with the outside host, we were bluntly told that we had to wait 1.5 hours, with no preferred seating. We wavered on whether to wait or go elsewhere, yet when I tried lightening the mood, saying "The food must be good for an hour and a half wait." The waitress never responded and rolled her eyes at me. Strike 1. We decided to stay, and make the best of our evening, heading upstairs for some drinks at the bar. There we saw a family (party of 7 adults) who checked in after us, yet they were being seated much earlier than my party, indoors might I add. Strike 2. About 30 minutes after the group who checked in after us was seated, we were taken to our separated, outside tables where my family who waited over an hour had to dine apart. In trying not to make a big deal of things we put in our orders, yet wanted to remove an appetizer from our order. The waitress told us we would have to speak with the manager. When the manager arrived to our table, she defensively said "Hey guys, what's up?" Initially thrown off by her lack of customer service etiquette and harsh tone, we advised her of the issue and she removed the appetizer. The seemingly flustered waitress did not service the other table, and that group decided to leave without eating. Strike 3. Though the food was palatable, our experience and simple lack of regard was extremely apparent. After paying for our meals, I asked to speak with the manager and told her that as a veteran, I have never been so disregarded at any establishment as I were there. I went on comprehensively explaining each situation we ran into during her shift, including our 1.5 hour wait. Her response, "Well, did you ask to be seated outside?" The evening managers' blatant insolence and lack of remorse was unequivocally offensive and should be looked into further by the restaurant owner(s). read more

Absolutely terrible service. My husband and I ordered food it took over an hour to get our food. The rest of our party received their appetizers, dinner and dessert before we received our dinner. After an hour our waitress checked on our food to which she told us it was being plated. 15-20 minutes later of still NOT getting our food, we had to ask again what was going on. She told us again it was being plated, their was another server who then said it should be right out. We told him that she had already told that 15-20 minutes ago. Several minutes later our food finally came out. Another person in our party asked that something be done to my husband and I's check. The manager was called up and came. We saw on the computer and never again. She approached another couple in our party thinking it was us, they told her it was us, she left. The fact that she never came and apologized to us or even handed us our bill explaining what she did was beyond unprofessional as well as rude. When we got the bill she took $6 off for our inconvenience. $6 doesn't even pay for our sodas. When we left I called the restaurant. This "manager" Sarah came to the telephone and said "yea?" I wasn't too shocked that she wasn't even professional answering the phone. I explained to her who I was and how inappropriate I found how she handled the situation. She explained to me she was busy. I told her that's absolutely no excuse when your customers are experiencing poor service. The reason she has a job is because of customers who go to the restaurant and to treat them poorly after they've had a bad experience is unacceptable. She tried to rush me off the phone multiple times, cut me off when speaking to her and to top it off she sighed on the phone and said ugh fine I'll be right up!! I informed her we had already left. We have never been treated so poorly eating out before. Word of advice to the owners get her some serious customer service training or find a new qualified manager to run your business. We never need back, nor will the people in our party. We'll spread the word for all our friends to avoid this restaurant whenever in town!!!! read more

I wouldn't even give one star but I have to give something. I ordered a dozen of medium crabs on Friday night. The crabs were not even alittle bit warm when I got them home. The first 4 of them were paper shells with no meat. I called the next day when they opened and they said they would replace my crabs. I call there at 8pm and ordered ... they say 20 minutes. I get there 8:25pm. The older lady that waited on me proceeds to get smart with me saying " your crabs are going to be cold again.. you were supposed to come get them right away!" I said.. "they told me 20 minutes on the phone and the crabs from last night were horrible and cold." She then told me several times that they "caught a lot of slack from the manager because of me." Very unprofessional and in front of other customers. She was still yelling ignorant things even as I was walking away. I will never buy crabs from here again. I will also make sure that none of my family or friends do either. Not that it matters to the Crab Bag because obviously customers do not matter to them.. it's all about taking someone's money and not standing by the product.
