Revisited Crab Pub and it still delivers. We got the Cajun edamame and I highly recommend dipping it in your seafood boil sauce it's game changer. Service was fast, and the servers were great and very accommodating. This location is definitely getting more traffic, but the quality hasn't changed at all. They also had the place decorated with Christmas decorations, which was a nice touch. The combos are always a great bang for your buck. Snow crab legs were amazing, and the shrimp were juicy, flavorful, and not dry at all. Definitely a solid spot to keep coming back to.

We arrived Monday June 1 to celebrate my son's birthday. I had called earlier to check about buying a desert or bringing a cake. The person who answered the phone was so kind and helpful. She advised they give a complimentary slice of their cheesecake for the birthday celebrant but didn't sell whole cakes. She informed me about the 85 Degree bakery and Stater Brothers next door. They will gladly store the cake. The menu was a little difficult to understand but once our waiter , sorry I forgot his name explained the combos vs AlaCarte and how much would feed a party of 5 We explained one person ate like a bird 2 of us were starving and 2 were medium hungry. He asked us what we wanted in terms of seafood. We all wanted crab one person didn't want shrimp etc etc. he advised us to start with 3 (bags) boil combos all with crab ,comboed with other seafood to make it a variation. Plus add an extra portion of crab. Well it was perfect. We did 3 different spice variations and shared The table is lined with plastic. A roll of paper towels. Plus the tools. Cracker and extractor. And gloves. Omg we had a blast eating the delicious food. Everything was fresh and just scrumptious. We had one bag with the garlic and old bay. Mild (I love heat but read mild had a kick. ). Which is did but was overall a mild kick. I was slurping the juice out of the clam shells it was so gosh darn good. Our waiter and the rest of the staff checked on us. Refilled our tea and water. We made a pretty good mess of things. Best part is we didn't have to clean up. Our waiter was so thoughtful, when it was time to have cake and open presents he invited us to use a clean table. He brought us plates and forks for the cake too. The restaurant space is kinda different. You walk into the restaurant and you're in a pretty large foyer You move through it to a gigantic dinning area with dozens of tables and booths. It has a huge high ceiling and appears more like a banquet size area. There were several other diners but because of the size of the restaurant it didn't feel crowded. We were trying to figure out what the space was used prior to Crab Pub. It has an Asian twist decor (marble deco columns) but decorated with fishing type props and decorations. It looks like service stations encircled the outer edge of the restaurant. Thinking it was a buffet place in the past. We loved the playlist music Thinking it was club like 80's 'maybe 70's original hits. Thankfully , No piped in cover instrumentals. So it was extra fun to get down and dirty eating and listening to great music. Bathrooms were clean All n all it was reasonably priced (we did Snow Crab as opposed to the King Crab that was pricier ). Recommend for families , and friend groups. Unsure if first date would be good as you have to get into the boil bag and it'll get messy. I hope to come back soon to try more combo seafood and different spice offerings

We used to go down to the Harbor to Joes Crab Shack until we discovered Crab Pub. This place is off of Mission in the Stater Bros parking lot. The location is large, clean and surprisingly not busy (yet). We've gone several times now and have tried the King Crab, Snow crab, shrimp, garlic bread and appetizer fries and everything has been delicious. The portions are big enough for two. Their garlic butter Old Bay seasoning is bomb. They have a lot of taps with rotating options. The servers are attentive and friendly. This is our go to spot for seafood boils going forward.

I'm so happy that a place like this has made its way into Oceanside. Located in a busy shopping center with plenty of parking. No reservations needed and our party of 4 was seated immediately. Large menu with plenty of options to choose from. You pick your items to be steamed up in the bag, seasoning, sides and wait for it to be brought out. The tables have paper placed over them so you can easily discard what you've eaten into a pile. Everything came out hot and seasoned to perfection. Decent size shrimp, along with the added sides. Everything was portioned well. Very chill place, clean. Lots of room to host large and small groups. Service was a tad slow, and that is my only issue. Our waiter didn't come around to ask for refills of drinks (everytime I tried to flag someone down, they were too busy talking amongst themselves) or if we needed anything else until it was time to drop off the bill. Pricing was decent compared to other places that have the same seafood in a bag concept. Tag your name with a message on the wall when you leave and loosen that button on your pants.

Had to go back again for a solo trip, I'm starting to like these a lot more than I could have ever imagined bc I didn't have to share this time, stay as long as I want, eat the spice level I want lol and just enjoyed the quiet vibes. I do wish their seating had some cushion lol. Love their crab pub seasoning, it's the go to for me and I should have gotten 1/2 and 1/2 instead of medium level spice! I will be back and there was a co worker that was a little space invading and hitting on customers shouldn't be something you're thinking about while at work. He literally ran up to the door to say bye and I just looked at him, then he said, you're not gonna say bye? I said no lol. I try not to rate places based off one experience I've had with a server or staff member. They probably know who I'm referring to though and that's up to management to nip that in the butt! Luckily I didn't feel uncomfortable but felt like I was being watched which is super odd!

Sorry everyone that this 5 star review has been in my drafts for a while. Not kidding when I say this is the best seafood boil place in SD. My go to sauce is the pub special, hot. They DO NOT play with their spice, people. I have a high tolerance and the XX spicy almost took me out. Shrimp and crab is fantastic, so are their breaded fish and shrimp. Draft beers are always cold and compliment the cuisine so much. If you're sharing (or not) the appetizer platter is humongous! Comes with a medley of the apps to try on a bed of fries, sweet potato and regular. The chowder is also great choice to prime the stomach for some spicy seafood. The Oceanside one is so underutilized! I feel like it never has the crown it deserves! I've been to the one at Blaza Bonita and that one also smacked. Service staff is always friendly and attentive. They play modern music and sports on the TVs. Parking lot is large as well, please come check it out!

The family and I enjoyed eating here. My partner felt it was too garlicky... but I enjoyed it! I love garlic! This meal fed a family of (4) seafood lovers . We ordered the following for $159 without tip: - Combo #5 (Pub Sauce Mild - for the kiddos) - Clam Chowder - Dozen Oysters - Garlic Noodles - (2) Steam Rice - Sierra Mist This is a cute place to take family and/or friends. The workers are friendly. The restaurant is clean. Food was good My only caveat is that there are no extra sinks to wash your hands after eating.

I really wanted to give this a higher rating because service and ambiance were great. However, the sauce had this off-putting bitterness and overpowered the seafood to a degree that was not salvageable no matter how much lime we squeezed on it after we shook the sauce off. Maybe the kitchen had an off day.

Mother's Day dinner with mom and sister. Moderately busy around 3-430pm. Our server was sweet and did a good job making sure we had everything we needed. She gets 5 stars. The seafood was OK. The fried oyster basket was my favorite. A bit stingy on the oysters. It was more like a basket of fries with a sprinkle of oysters. Same with the calamari. We ordered those without the fries in hopes that we would get a good amount of calamari. We ordered the #5 combo seafood boil. Not what I expected. It was alright. I enjoyed the garlic based sauce. It was an explosion of flavor. Not a fan of the thinly sliced pieces of sausage. They gave off an unpleasant aftertaste.

This is a cute, large restaurant located in a busy shopping center in the San Luis Rey or "valley" part of Oceanside. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you're on vacation. The decor is really cute. The aroma of Old Bay Seasoning and garlic permeates the air upon arrival. Our party of two ordered combo #5. We were allowed to substitute extra shrimp in place of the crawfish. This was a perfect order for two people. We probably could have fed 3. The combo includes two pieces of corn. I did not like that the corn pieces were so small. It says on the menu all combos include corn (2), potatoes (2) and pork sausage (4). What this really means is one corn cut in half, two small potatoes and four thin slices of sausage. So that is why I am scoring this a 3. The seafood tasted very good. It's fun to be messy at dinner. I like that they gave us bibs and gloves. My daughter wants me to include that they need longer straws to fit the cups provided.

We sat outside at one of the picnic tables and it had a really relaxed, laid-back vibe. The STAR was definitely the ahi tuna appetizer. SO GOOD! The tuna was incredibly fresh with avocado, cucumber and red onion, and every bite was perfectly seasoned. It had a little kick for someone like me who normally doesn't do spicy, but apparently that didn't stop me because I was fighting Nuzz for the last piece We got chips with it too and they were perfectly crunchy. I got two fried fish tacos and loved them! The fish was lightly fried and almost airy, not heavy or greasy at all. Exactly what I wanted in a fish taco! Nuzz got grilled fish, spicy octopus and the Mar y Tierra with steak and shrimp. He loved all three, although the octopus definitely brought the heat! Our server was great too. I asked for a ginger ale, which they don't have, and he actually offered to run to 7-Eleven to get me one! Obviously I wasn't going to let him do that but seriously, how sweet?! Fresh seafood, delicious tacos, great service and a laid-back atmosphere. We would absolutely come back! And next time I'm getting my own ahi appetizer. Sharing was a mistake.

Stepping inside just after 1:00 PM, the atmosphere immediately feels crisp, polished, and genuinely welcoming. Front-of-house host Maria sets an impressive tone right at the door, effortlessly managing a constant flow of walk-ins, ringing phones, and reservations with warm, unflappable grace. The reward for arriving on time is arguably the finest seat in the house: a sunlit patio table right at the open window, where the fresh Pacific breeze lifts the entire dining experience. Service, helmed by Hanna, is nothing short of stellar. Attentive and operating with remarkable emotional intelligence, she ensures every need is anticipated. While a flat Pepsi Zero was an early misstep (a swap for Coke Zero would be a welcome menu adjustment), the opening complimentary sourdough roll with maple butter was so good it disappeared instantly--prompting Hanna to thoughtfully bring a second with the appetizer. The famed spicy fried calamari brings bold Asian-inspired flavors, featuring a sweet-and-spicy dip reminiscent of classic egg roll sauces and a fiery drizzle akin to the sauce on a dragon roll. However, while the flavor profile hits the mark, the execution left room for improvement; the calamari itself landed on the greasier, lukewarm side, falling slightly short of top-tier benchmarks like Villa Roma. Any minor missteps evaporate when the Filet Trio arrives. It is, without hyperbole, a culinary masterpiece. Three beautifully cooked 3-ounce medallions are each elevated by distinct, harmonious toppings: rich crab and asparagus under a silky béarnaise; a sharp, savory combination of blue cheese fondue and crispy prosciutto; and a deeply flavorful green peppercorn sauce crowned with crunchy onions, all anchored by creamy garlic mashed potatoes. Each bite activates the palate in a completely different way, balancing contrasting textures and rich flavors seamlessly. With an expansive beverage program that includes thoughtful zero-proof options, alongside a varied menu spanning light, healthy options to decadent comfort food, 333 Pacific remains a must-visit. There are several big picnic tables, but they were all in the sun despite having umbrellas and the patio was full so we ended up having to eat inside, which was very hot. While we waited the line got pretty long. Our order didn't take too long and we brought it back to the table after getting condiments like ketchup for our fries, tartar sauce for the fish and plenty of napkins. The portions are huge and could definitely be split. Everything was too hot to eat (no complaints there) so we started with the slaw. I'm not a big slaw fan but it was good. I broke apart the fish so it would cool faster. The fries were perfectly crispy and delicious. The chowder was thick and tasty but mostly potatoes and very few clams. The shrimp were perfectly cooked inside the thick batter. The fish was well breaded and tasted good. I just wish it was a bit less greasy. This is definitely a divey spot but it's an Oceanside institution and hits the spot when I'm craving fish and chips.
