This is a cozy little breakfast / lunch spot that will have a wait. They do favor seating larger groups as opposed to a couple. Given that, my wife and I did wait 45 minutes for a table. When asked about groups or 4 or 5 who came in after us, the wait staff did say they would seat larger groups first. They were very nice about saying it though and were not smug at all. Once we did get our table, the service was prompt and friendly. The food was outstanding and a great value for the price. Depending on what you order, you'll be able to get away with about $10/person after you include your food, coffee and an OJ. I'd give this place four or five stars if it were not for the ridiculous wait. read more

I was skeptical because of mixed reviews, but seriously, this place it delicious. I had the corned beef hash (made on site) with home fries, and eggs and it was a tad greasy but a lot AMAZING. My husband ordered the crab cake Benedict and it was DIVINE. The hollandaise and poached egg was velvety and delicious. The crab was fresh and soft. Coffee was good, I got the pecan pie to go. Eggs Benny over homemade corned beef hash that was weirdly sweet and had no corned beef flavor came with grilled English muffins on the side, a Hollandaise sauce that was not lemony but really spicy? and not good potatoes. Enjoyed a really good and filling breakfast here before venturing out to Martha's Vineyard. The place was really busy, so they sat us at the bar which was ok. Service was sort of lacking because the bartender was understandably quite busy, but the food was great. Have only had breakfast but everything ordered on each of three visits so far was great. Their homemade hash is a must have. Order either alone or as part of their "Irish Benedict" and you will not be disappointed. Also, I am not typically a fan of homefries but their's are an exception. Great flavor, toothsome firmness, and not overly greasy. Service is fast, friendly and no-nonsense. You want to chat about the weather or Cape League ball? They'll oblige. You want to be left alone? Wanted to find a place for brunch that served Mimosa's on a Sunday on the cape in the off season. Was lead to Crabapples. We missed breakfast by 20 minutes, THEY STOP SERVING BREAKFAST AT NOON. We did our research before hand and this was never mentioned anywhere. We were already there so had a few mimosa's and ordered some lunch. I don't remember what we ordered, and thus it wasn't memorable. What I do remember is how miserable and unpersonable the waitress was, she just seemed like she didn't want to be there. Not a bad little stop on the way to/from the Vineyard ferry, better than you'd expect from this type of mom-and-pop Cape joint. My housemade crab and lobster cakes came with asparagus, black bean salsa, and 2 additional sides of my choice- lots of food for only like $12. The cakes themselves were full of seafood and pretty yummy, although on the soft side- they try to crust up the outsides but because it's mostly crab/lobster and very little else, it's less of a 'cake' and more of a (tasty) mush, so just be warned. The boy scarfed down his homemade marinaded pork sandwich which was worth the $8, and the chowder got no complaints. A decent pit stop in the area. read more

Walked in on a rainy Saturday around noon. We both wanted to order the quiche and it comes with fruit. My mom asked to get something instead of fruit since she has severe allergic reactions to certain fruits. The waitress acted very strange about this and didn't want to give us anything in place of the fruit. We had to convince her to give us "a few fries" as she described it. The quiche had a weird tofu-like texture to it and no salt. It was not good. The fruit seemed old and my mom really did only get a few fries-barely any. However, the chowder was fantastic. The atmosphere was cute and cape cod-esque. Won't be coming back again, but we did indeed enjoy the soup! read more

Excellent! Some of the best breakfast I've had in a really long time! Best hash browns I've ever had - soft and delicious but crispy on the outside - absolutely amazing and I am SUPER picky about my breakfast potatoes! Not too busy, and service wasn't outstanding but who cares...with food like that - it absolutely gets 5 stars in my book. I LOVE my breakfast and am super picky about it so I was truly impressed! I have been to Crabapple's 4 or 5 times over the past few year during annual visits to The Cape. It has never always been crowded, even in the off-season, and absolutely worth it. Breakfasts are bountiful and delicious, the seafood as fresh as you get, the signature fish chowder is TOTALLY worth the 5 star reputation, and the staff are amazing. I simply do not know how they manage to put so much outstanding food out of their tiny kitchen and every server bends over backwards to provide the very best service possible in this local diner. Don't expect white table cloths and a quiet romantic setting but you will get wonderful food from people that care about delivering the very best possible in a comfortable local gathering place. read more

Came for a Saturday brunch, about 10:30am, summer. Waited 5-10 minutes as scores of people left at once. Food was excellent: the specials were really delicious and of an interesting variety/mixes, bacon wasn't fatty, but more meat, coffee was good. My friend got the poached eggs and they were arranged beautifully and with veggies looked very colorful. It's a quaint little place, though the decor is kind of just OK. If we could give 0 stars, that would be our choice. Where to begin? 1. Waitstaff are incredibly moody and rude. Did we tell them to take a job as a server? Clearly the servers here hate their job. We even got some rolling of the eyes. 2. Took 4 times to get our meal to come out right 3. In a veggie omlette, we had 2 pieces of tomato, 1 red pepper, and a few onions. 4. Toast comes out cold 5. Home fries are a scoop of mush 6. After the 3rd time trying to get an omlette to get right, which in the end never was right, and this person ate their meal alone as everyone else had finished, we would expect the meal to be taken off the bill. Nope, not here. We ask to speak to a manager and apparently there is no manager. We are offered a to speak to a "waitress who has been there for a few years." The chef came out and was nice (the only good thing to come out of this meal). The meal is taken off the bill with a side of attitude from the curly hair waitress, who then gives us the check and instead of saying thank you, tells us to "don't forget to sign." 7. If anything, their name reflects who they are. They are a bunch of crab apples. Go to the Pickle Jar instead.....or even IHOP! read more

My family got take out after a long day at the beach and it hit all out spots. I was satisfied with the turkey club wrap (no mayo). I added tabasco sauce and mustard every few bites and that was good too. I tried my sisters tuna melt which tasted great, I've never had tuna that was on the sweet side but it was tasty nonetheless. My brother in law devoured his lobster roll an chowdah and the 2 kids scarfed down their chicken tenders and fries. I'm not sure about the service but we loved everything we ordered. read more
