Went there last night around 8, when they close at 9. People were so unbelievably disrespectful. One kid was going around saying "get the f**k out god damn" under his breath but loud enough for everybody to hear. The workers were going around saying "this is f**king ridiculous." So after traveling from gaitlinburg in the rain the snotty little waitress walks up to the table and says "seriously" like we were bothering her. I selected merchandise for Christmas off a clearly marked 60 % off rack when they rang up full price I took the cashier back to the rack and he said it really didn't mean that. after traveling many hours and many to go we get the twilight zone. Husband went to Cracker Barrel Lanier Island Parkway this afternoon (8/20) to redeem our complimentary meal ticket for takeouts. The complimentary ticket listed for two entrees, two drinks, AND two desserts. Cracker Barrel staff questioned whether the ticket was even valid while another stated yes it was. Husband placed order for two Homestyle Chicken plates and sweet tea then was told no desserts despite the ticket clearly indicating free desserts. (See photo below) Husband was told he would have to pay for desserts out of pocket and staff said that the manager said no desserts. Just had a great Thanksgiving dinner from Cracker Barrel on Friendship road. That wasn't the plan, but wife got sick at last minute and we could not take our annual trip to South Carolina to be with family. We absolutely love the menu and shopping a little before we eat so it's normal to expect a guest list or wait most visits but lately the wait has been approximately 40 min to get a table when you can clearly see open tables; but to make matters worse our last visit this past Wednesday 12/7; we waited for our food for over an hour once we were seated. With a four year old and infant in tow; having to wait this long was super frustrating and disappointing. Apparently they are super understaffed in the kitchen. I wish we had known when they quoted the wait to be seated that they were delayed due to delays in kitchen and that the overall wait and delay was more like 2 hours; we would have gladly gone elsewhere making it less of an impact on staff shortage and hopefully easier on other patrons who didn't mind the wait. My son and I went the week before and the wait was long but I don't recall if our food was delayed. To play it safe; we will wait awhile to go back and hope staffing has improved . read more

Service was excellent and fast (Car side) but the food has gone downhill. I don't know if it's due to Covid, but they no longer serve turnip greens or fried apples. As a matter of fact, it looked like a lot of the vegetable sides were discontinued. I may be wrong, but it seems like there were more. Something tastes off about the broccoli, the mashed potatoes and gravy were bland and gritty, and the biscuits weren't fluffy like usual. I'm highly disappointed, and I really miss the turnip greens. My husband and I stopped today for lunch. We got there around 2:30pm, we were seated within 5 mins. Within 5 mins of being seated we placed our order. And then we waited and waited. 20 mins in we finally got our drinks, water and a latte. Then after more waiting our waitress came to let us know they were out of dumplings and that we may not want to wait for them to make more as it would take a while. This place does not know how call ahead seating works. Twice now we have signed up for call ahead seating--and got an Immediate response text that there was a 5 minute wait and to check in at hostess booth. Then we walked inside to check in and was given a wait time of 20-30 minutes. If they don't know how to use call ahead seating better than this then they should just do away with offering the service. This is very inconsiderate and inconvenient to patrons! read more

After waiting 35 min for our food to arrive nothing was as ordered. I had to ask for a refill on my tea 3 times before I was finally given one and no other refills followed. Our waitress was in la la land the entire and missing in action the other half. When she did come to the table to she complained about the kitchen staff stating they haven't been doing their job the last two weeks and when she went back to get an item they forgot to put on the plate they threw it at her. I live in So Cal and there are no Cracker Barrel's out here. Went back to North Georgia for a family reunion and had to get me some Chicken Fried Steak. The sides didn't matter so much, but the greens with the ham were great. This place is just what I expected from a Cracker Barrel and the sweet tea was perfect. My family in law and i went today after a really important appointment where we left with good news. Our waitress was so rude when we had a misunderstanding about the difference between a "hamburger" and a "cheese burger." Obviously there should be some kind of clarification instead of speaking to us rudely and not cooperating when we have questions. Along with that it wasn't busy enough to have most of our order missing and it shouldn't have been a big deal to ask about the food we were missing. She had 2 other people come to help us as if we were giving her a hard time and those 2 people were just as rude. I never understaimte the chain spots. Indeed they can very place to place pending the customer service. This Cracker Barrel in Buford was busy with traffic. Did a marvellous job getting people in and out. The food is good to slighly above average. I can't help to shout out the waitress that alone gave this review an extra star. It was prefect. The food came out super fast! This was great but we knew it wasn't fresh. The turnips were ok. The fried chicken tasted refried in old grease. Everything was cold! The roast was chewy, definitely not slow cooked for 14 hours as advertised. The only reason my fried okra was hot was because I asked for it to be remade. Lanier Parkway location is extremely slow with curbside and to go orders. I've had 3 to go orders in the last several months and have waited excessive amounts of time for the orders (waited 1 hour one time). The others were less of a wait but always 15-20 minutes beyond what they indicated it would take. Also, every time I have entered this located in the last month there is a very loud constant buzzing/beeping sound. Because the service has been poor at this location, that sound makes this location even more unappealing. I love Cracker's Barrels but this location needs to make some serious improvements. read more

Today I stopped in it was 8:30 on a Monday morning. The vast majority of the dining room was empty. I saw waitresses organizing tables and many many empty tables. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the pancake breakfast and the steak dinner. Our food took about average time to get to our table and everything was as we ordered. We were looking for a Cracker Barrel to stop at and were nervous once I started reading the reviews...but everything was great! The food was delicious and made perfectly. Just finished with dinner. Arrived at 6:15, got a table at 6:30 ordered quickly but waited almost an hour for food. Food was received and it was cold, over cooked and was told they were out of corn bread and biscuits. However other tables were getting biscuits and corn bread freely. First off, why is this listed as an "African" restaurant? Second, this was my first time in a Cracker Barrel in YEARS, it's been so long I unfortunately forgot everything comes with grits and gravy (that's not the reason for the low ranking, to each their own). I was in Atlanta visiting friends for the weekend and there wasn't a lot that could have spoiled my great mood, besides bland food. Since I'm not a grits and gravy fan, I chose to order lunch. I've been craving chicken and dumplings for quite sometime so when better than now? I'll tell you when...anytime you're not at Cracker Barrel. I ordered my lunch with carrots, green beans and apples. The carrots were the only good thing on my plate, the rest was crap. The green beans were straight from a can and had that awful "can taste" and the apples were tough. The shining star should have been the chicken and dumplings, but it wasn't. There was no flavor what-so-ever. I had to use all the salt and pepper I could find just to give it some sort of taste, plus dumplings had a slimy texture to them. I tasted someone's pancakes and wow, were they horrible. I think frozen pancakes from your grocer's freezer would taste better than these. What a waste of time and money. read more
