Breakfast at 8 am Saturday. Hostess was friendly and seated me quickly. Waitress approached immediately and took my drink order. Restaurant is clean at this hour and the staff appears adequate. Many of the staff are older seasoned servers so the the level of service is increased. My server Katelynn is young and attentive providing great service with a smile. The food came quickly. My breakfast was not piping hot but was adequately warmed. The eggs were prepared perfectly and the meats and pancakes were the same as always. A couple of small corporate issues. They brought my pancake syrup out in small snap too plastic containers. What happened to the miniature warmed bottles? Maybe this store was just out. If they have made a switch to save money , bad idea. Those miniature warmed bottles are a signature Cracker Barrel experience and should be kept. Add the extra .35$ to a meal to cover it. I noticed during my visit a wait staff person eating in the kitchen area in view of the dining room. This should be a policy violation. I don't want to see someone standing and scarfing down breakfast while they were drinking a McDonald's iced drink. This is bad management. Employees should take their meal on break in the dining room or at least out of view of the public . A minor thing but much like the nail in the horse shoe. Came here around 1 pm on a Sunday and good lord, apparently half of North Georgia had just been released from church at the exact same time and was also on a mission for fried chicken. I respect the dedication. Unfortunately they were all standing between me and my lunch. The host quoted us a 30 minute wait and I mentally prepared for the long haul, but we were seated in about one minute. Either a miracle happened or someone finished their biscuits at record speed. While we waited, the general store worked its usual magic. My mother immediately started browsing like she had been training for this moment her entire life and somehow found several shirts she suddenly needed. Cracker Barrel knows exactly what they are doing with that store. The food at the table was good classic comfort food. No complaints there. Service was friendly and the place was clearly slammed from the Sunday crowd, so a little extra time for the kitchen was understandable. Where things really went off the rails was the to go order. We ordered a breakfast meal to go for my sister since she could not make it to brunch with us and needed something to take to work the next day. We placed the order at the same time as our meal. Forty five minutes after we finished eating, the to go order still had no estimate for when it would be ready. Not five minutes. Not ten minutes. Just a vague sense that it might appear at some point in the distant future. After waiting long enough to consider renting one of the rocking chairs out front, we finally asked them to remove it from the bill so we could leave. The staff was polite, but there were a lot of explanations and unfortunately none of them came with breakfast. The dine in experience itself was fine, but when you order something to go at the same time as your meal and still cannot get it nearly an hour later, that becomes a problem. When we sat we waited 15-20 minutes for a waitress to come over. Finally ordered out food and got it 30 mins later. Everything on both our plates was cold! Not even warm enough to melt the butter on the French toast or the cheese on the eggs! Immediately alerted the manager and he promptly took the food away and offered us a replacement meal complimentary. The mashed potatoes were so old they congealed into plastic. The meatloaf looked like they tried to deep fry it but it was still cold. The fried okras were fried up like 20 times and had no taste, just hard. They couldn't even get eggs right. Everything looked overcooked. We passed by other patrons and it looked like they got different food from somewhere else. We paid and walked out. I tried to call in a to go order and was on hold for 10 minutes, by that point I just went inside and put the order in and waited which took another 45 minutes. There was no silverware in the bag and my dish was missing half the ingredients it was just eggs on top of hashbrown casserole and an extra glob of cheese. It didn't have the tomatoes, green onion, fried onion. Was it edible yes, but 45 minutes for eggs is excessive. The other dish was French toast with no syrup. This place has improved overall for the last few visits. We were craving some southern comfort food and ended up here. There is plenty of parking, and no wait to be seated on Friday at 6:00PM. Hillary, our waitress, was attentive throughout the meal. I must say the younger people working here now make this place better. This is the first time we saw ALL young staff. We ordered chicken fried chicken with mac and cheese, corn, and coleslaw, and she ordered the chicken pot pie with the fried apples side. We both enjoyed our comfort food and the very good service. Even the cashier was young and very friendly. My guess is that kudos to the management are in order. read more

This was my second time at Cracker Barrel, and wow, it was pretty bad. We went on a Sunday afternoon, which is a busy time, but we were told it would only be a five-minute wait for the two of us. It ended up being a 25 minute wait. We got seated and received our food, but our waitress did not give us utensils or napkins. I then had to go to the kitchen door and ask someone for utensils, which took a few minutes. She also forgot to bring me my side, which she brought only when I asked 20 minutes later. I had the Homestyle Chicken n' French Toast with a side of Bacon Mac n' Cheese. These were both pretty good. My friend, however, got the Stuffed Cheesecake Pancake Breakfast. We ate here for breakfast around 8:30 on a Monday. Our server, Jennifer, was very friendly and was at the table right away to get our drink order. Our drinks came quickly and our food came out soon after and was delicious. The only suggestion I would make wouldn't be to check the framed photos next to the table - ours had a weird splatter on it that was a little unappetizing. So this is probably going to be shorter than most of my reviews. It's Cracker Barrel. So the food was ok. I'm more of a Waffle House person, but we had a gift card. Eggs were done well, bacon is hard to mess up and the hash brown casserole could have used a little salt. Overall we all enjoyed the food, but didn't take home leftovers. Service was really good. Went there with my family at 9:25PM on a Saturday. They close at 10:00. Ordered promptly when greeted to make sure to be considerate to time. At 10:00 the manager came over to our table and said the server Chad FORGOT to enter our order, they have "thrown out" all of the nights food and there was nothing to serve us! It was us and one other table, how can a server forget when the whole job revolves around entering orders? The manger wasn't shocked as if this was a regular occurrence. Now after coming on yelp and seeing the 80 health score, I know what we are dealing with here. Poor staff and even worse management to just not even be phased that a server failed at the essential part of their job. When we were leaving a woman from the table next to us followed us out to say she had been waiting 1 hour and 15 min for her food. Think twice about this location. read more

Arrived at 7:12 on Tuesday evening for dinner. Was seated in a reasonable time. This place was not busy or crowded. After another 35 minutes our party of two was told they were out of chicken. When we finally received our meal they were cold. We managed to eat some of the food. We ended up ready to check out at 9:15. Over a 2 hour dreadful experience. "National Chocolate Day" the website proclaimed and being a choco-holic I couldn't resist a visit to Cracker Barrel for a free slice of cake with entree today only, so the website said. Now, overpriced & with little to 'crow about', corporate wonders why when we get this at this location today. Corporate, don't reinvent as much as fix what is wrong. We were immediately seated when we arrived around 5:15 in the afternoon yesterday, which was a Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded as only one side of the restaurant had customers, and only one table on the other side of the restaurant was being . No one acknowledged us after being seated until I had to go to the front of the store about 20 minutes after we were seated to let them know we have not been acknowledged. The waitress came to our table and apologized. She took our order of two vegetable plates. After about 40 minutes, I found our waitress and asked her what was so difficult about dipping up vegetables into bowls. She finally brought our plates, but she tole my husband that his okra would be out shortly. Well, he meal when the okra was brought to him! I ordered pinto beans and turnip greens with mashed and I could not chew the turnip greens. They were so and there were uncooked hard beans, which were probably the pinto beans. The portions are getting smaller and every time we eat there. By the time we left with 2 cups of coffee and two vegetable plates our bill was $33 which is outrageous for vegetables. We left their hungry. That will be our last visit to that Cracker Barrel for sure. When I stood in line at the register. There were only two people in front of me and it took at least 10 minutes before I was waited on. The cashier asked me how everything was her and she said "OH" which only tells me she hears it all the time. We waited 40 MINUTES until one person in our group of three said that was enough and we left. They even charged us for the drinks after having waited almost an hour for our food without the server even checking in on us to make sure our drinks were filled. I don't go to CB expecting a slam dunk experience. I'll occasionally go there and it's usually ok. This past time wasn't anything to write home about. This location definitely has issues. Was wanting to start with a bowl of soup and they didn't have any prepared. I kind of doubt that they make soup from scratch. I could be wrong but if not, how hard is it to open a can and heat it up. They supposedly pride themselves on their biscuits being from scratch and fresh all day long. The biscuits this time were anything but soft and fluffy, in fact they were pretty dry and hard. Easily had been sitting and passed over. Even the table next to me was telling the server that things were not up to par. The server Mal was nice enough and the rest of the food was ok, but like I said not exceptional. This location was understaffed as it seemed the last time and I understand that it's hard to get help and even if you can, people call out sick leaving the place in a bind and apparently from what I heard the server telling that table, that was the case today and the manager and another server were stuck in the kitchen so that could explain the food being "off" and causing the server to be overwhelmed dealing with multiple tables. Move on! You are better off driving to another cracker barrel location. I have eaten at cracker barrels all over the country and this one by far is the most poorly run I have ever seen. The experience of this location completely sucks from beginning to end. This place should cut its losses and just shut the place down for a few months so they can hire a totally new staff and teach them how to run a restaurant. Don't bother joining the waitlist in online because when you "check in" at the host stand is when the wait truly begins. I'm pretty sure that's not how that should work. Because we drove out of our way to get there we did stick it out but in hindsight we should have left as soon as we arrived. After our 15 minute wait turned into 45 we then sat at a table for over an hour after having ordered our food. They said the kitchen was backed up but we were one of only seven tables sitting in the whole place. I ran restaurants for many years so believe me when I say, please don't eat at this one until they get a competent person that actually knows how to manage it. I ordered a half hot chocolate and half coffee but was informed the machine that makes the hand crafted coffee also makes the hot chocolate. Here's a novel idea, have packets of hot chocolate available for when your machine goes down. I should have checked the rating before coming here.
