Stopped in for breakfast today with my daughters as part of our day adventure. We were seated right away which was nice. We each tried a different breakfast meal, an old timer, grandma breakfast and the strawberry French toast bake. The food was all delicious and filling. The service was good up until the end when our server forgot to bring us a to go box and I had to walk over to the kitchen area and ask for one. The country feel is homey and perfect for the food served.

My wife and I came here for breakfast, we've been here plenty of times and this place satisfies any craving for great southern food cooking. We ordered the strawberry pancakes, country fried chicken, extra side of pancakes, extra side of eggs and sausage. Service was great, our waitress was a pro, very fast to serve our food and made sure we got any drink refills promptly. This is a very family friendly restaurant, bring the kids out or just come and enjoy comfort food here, you'll love it. Very country themed interior, old fashioned look but nice. Prices are extremely reasonable and portions are generous. We never had a bad experience here. It's like eating at a good friend's house. Check out their daily specials. Tuesday's are pork chop specials, yummy !!

3.5 STARS! The Cracker Barrel chain is barely making its way into California, so I was looking forward to trying it out in Phoenix, AZ. The restaurant interior is large, open, and spacious. Cute Americana signage and trinkets all over for decor. The gift shop workers, host, and server were all wonderful and welcoming. The portions are generous (huge, even). Vibes and hospitality are the majority of what Cracker Barrel has going for it, though. Nothing was exceptional, unfortunately. Our party's meal was a range of good: the chicken, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings to okay: macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, corn... and then some not so good: biscuit and muffins were stale, beverages tasted watered down or otherwise "off." I'd try Cracker Barrel again because their menu is extensive. There's so much we didn't try yet and we didn't even have room for dessert. I can see how this could be a comfort food à la Denny's or IHOP or other sit-down restaurant chains.

Hadn't been to Cracker Barrel in a very long time so I was looking forward to a great breakfast. The service was really great. I ordered Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast $17.79, chicken fried steak with eggs over easy and instead of biscuits and gravy I chose sourdough toast. The eggs were over hard, chicken fried steak was so dry that I could not finish it. Even the sourdough toast was dry and weirdly sweet? It was a very disappointing meal. The store has some cool stuff and trinkets but I came for breakfast and unfortunately did not have a good experience. I probably would've had a better experience at Denny's.

Pancakes are not good to go and were not as good overall. The coca cola chocolate fudge cake also was good, but lacking some soda flavor.

Once again giving them yet another chance and they prove my point. They do not know how to cook scrambled eggs. One of the easiest things to make.

I stopped by yesterday with my mom and my son, we love Cracker Barrel! The service is always so good when we come. We got greeted when we walked into the gift shop right away, which we LOVE the gift shop, there is soooo many nice things in here from adult clothes, pens, candles, knickknacks, baby clothes, candy, toys, chapsticks, soaps, magnets, books, notebooks, pepper and salt shakers and sets of them, car scents, lotions, blankets, aprons, pots and pans, baking supplies, pies, jewelry, and probably more! I seriously love the gift shop. We went to eat first then browsed through the shop to get goodies. I got the Grandma's Sampler with extra bacon crispy, with the hash brown casserole and scrambled eggs with cheese, Yum! Their pancakes are soooo yummy! I love how they have the crispy ends and soft fluffy middle, the syrup is also so so good! Nice and buttery and everything was so yummy! Seriously my favorite! My mom got The Old Timer's breakfast with over easy eggs, bacon, and the hash brown casserole. She also got biscuits and gravy which was delicious! I tried the gravy, it was great! My son got the kids meal with the chicken tenders and fries, he loved his as well! We all loved what we got. Our food came out quick as well. It was a really great experience. Then in the gift shop I got an Apron, a cute Owl Pen with white snow glitter on it, goat milk lotion, and goat milk chapstick, my son got a dinosaur toy that holds a lollipop, and I believe that was all this time around. Usually we get so much more but we had to get going for the day. Definitely will be coming back like the per usual! The ambiance in here is so cute as well, love it! It's cute western old feeling and super comforting. They also had the fire place going in the restaurant area and it was a nice touch. Loved it!

It's always such a treat eating at a Cracker Barrel. You know what to expect and that's exactly what we received. The kids had pancakes for dinner while my hubby enjoyed the country fried chicken. U had soup and salad. The veggie soup was not great, it was water with veggies. Salad is generously sized much I was grateful for, and the chicken was moist and flavorful! The kids liked the pancakes and enjoyed shopping in the cute store. We will absolutely continue to visit Cracker Barrel locations whenever we are near one! Thanks for being consistent in a world that is ever changing.

Well, it happened again. I fell victim to clever advertising. I've seen multiple commercials for Cracker Barrels early dinner deals and all-day breakfast specials, so we finally succumbed to the visual pressure and went to the Deer Valley location for their 4-6 early dinner deals starting at $10.99. The decor is a country store/ hunting lodge, and it is cool inside. Our server Bree was very friendly and helpful. We started with loaded hashbrown casserole tots, and they were delicious. Here's a tip you can get a free Barrel Bite appetizer when you join their rewards club. I had the homestyle chicken $11.49, and my wife had the grilled farm-rasised catfish $11.49. Both were enjoyable, but the sides were a little bland. Overall, Cracker Barrel is good value for families and a great place for comfort food.

We made our reservation online and were seated right away, which made for a great start to our celebration. It took a little while for our waitress to come to our table, but the restaurant was very busy since it was the weekend. Once she arrived, she was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. One thing we really enjoyed was the live DJ, who kept the atmosphere fun with excellent music. We were seated toward the back of the restaurant, which worked out perfectly for our large party and gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal together. For drinks, we ordered two Bloody Marys, two beers, a mimosa flight, waters, and lemonades. The only disappointment was the Bloody Marys. For the price, we expected them to be garnished with olives and the traditional toppings that usually come with a Bloody Mary. Our table ordered a variety of dishes, including the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Chicken & Waffles, Flapjack Tenders, the French Toast Sandwich (served with breakfast potatoes and syrup), Oxtails with Dirty Rice, and Catfish & Grits. Overall, the food was delicious. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were good, although we expected a little more cinnamon roll flavor and icing, similar to what we've experienced at other restaurants. The biggest disappointment was the oxtails. While they were flavorful and well-prepared, the portion size was smaller than expected, especially considering the $43 price tag. A helpful tip for anyone visiting with a large group: the restaurant will only split the check into two separate bills, so it's a good idea to bring cash or plan your payment arrangements in advance. Overall, we had a wonderful experience celebrating our sister's birthday. The lively atmosphere, great music, delicious food, and attentive service made for an enjoyable brunch. We look forward to returning in the future. We also learned that the owner has another restaurant called Soulful Tacos, which we're excited to try soon.

I've eaten at Mrs. Whites for many years, and every time I want to go back to real southern cooking this is where I come to. Companion and I dropped in for lunch, and there was so much food that we skipped dinner. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken. 3 pan fried pieces that are juicy and golden brown. For sides I had mixed greens with hot sauce and mac and cheese. The collards were tender and delicious and the mac and cheese didn't even come close fo K..... Dinner. It was loaded with cheese and truly memorable. It also came with a large piece of homemade cornbread with lots of butter on top. Companion ordered the child's plate which is 2 pieces of chicken and and 2 sides. Ordered were cole slaw and mac and cheese. Because we are both diabetics, we both ordered unsweetened tea, but I really wanted a glass of the sweet tea which you get all through the south. We had planned on getting the wonderful peach cobbler for dessert, but we were so full that it would have been impossible to get down. Other items on the menu are smothered pork chops, fried catfish, and chicken fried steak as well as a host of other items. The restaurant recently underwent a complete renovation and it is really nice inside. Lest I forget to mention it, This is a small place that has been here for as long as I can remember. Popped in before a Suns game, an easy walk past Chase Field. It was good to get away from the usual pregame options. The place was clean and inviting, and had a little bit of a "back in time" feel without being dated. Quickly and pleasantly welcomed and seated. Then came the hard part, making choices. We had fried chicken and fried catfish, with sides of Mac and Cheese, macaroni salad (yep, Mac two ways), greens and mashed potatoes with gravy. All were great, obviously home made from longstanding recipes. Especially into the greens, which were bursting with flavor. The catfish was delish, and my wife called the fried chicken the best she ever had. Saved room for peach cobbler, which was served smoking hot. The perfect sweet end to the savory meal. Next time I'm all in on pork chops, which looked amazing. And we will come on a Sunday, the only day dressing is available as a side option. If you're looking for a meal that feels like a friend had you over for supper, go here! Thanks Mrs. White's family!

Tucked back in a small building, just off Southern Avenue, you'll find Southern Fried. It is a small little walk in store front, so plan ahead to order out. We went ahead and ordered online to make things simple and easy. As shown on their building and advertised they show they serve Jamaican food so I was pretty let down when I looked at the menu to discover they do not have any Jamaican food. Seeing pictures of previous Yelp reviews of jerk chicken and oxtail left me bummed. We ended up ordering the fried okra, fried mushrooms, the 2 fish and 5 shrimp combo, along with the fried catfish and fries. We took our food to go and headed home, just around the corner. Once opening the containers i instantly got excited about the mushrooms. Anyone that knows me knows i am mushroom obsessed. With a quick dip in the ranch that came with and popping one into my mouth.... Yummmm! The okra was a bit of a miss. It seems they were still a bit slimy. Moving along to our main courses, I was disappointed to find that our fish was packed on top of our fries and the fries were very limp, soggy and unseasoned. I think packing the takeout differently could easily eliminate this issue. The catfish and shrimp were seasoned to perfection. They both had a perfect blend of spice and a light and crispy batter. I would love to see Jamaican food on the menu, as the advertising is a bit deceptive. Overall I would definitely be willing to try them again and would love to give one of their burgers a taste test.

The Cod Cheeks and Wagyu Short Ribs were favorites during our menu. We were able to enjoy cocktails and two plates outdoors before moving to the dining room for the rest of our meal.
